  I recently did an update on my Blackberry 9000 "BOLD" when prompted by my Office Manager to do. After the update the phone started running slowly. I can remove a few applications out of the phone such as Myspace and Facebook to release the memory. Then phone must be restarted to complete removal. After the reboot, the phone screen has turned white and froze.  To unlock I had to remove the battery. When I put the battery back in, it would not turn. Could the update have fried the phone altogether?

  I read some other threads and thought I would try something.  Pulled the battery for two days.  Then put my sim card in the phone plugged into the wall charger (without the battery).  The red light came in the upper right of the phone, so I put the battery back in and let it will load.  She turned on when he had enough power, return and after let it charge all the way I took the charger and it works great!

  I have repeatedly let the phone charge for several hours, removed the battery and replaced after a few moments with the same results.

  This problem started after the battery became very impoverished after leaving the phone on mode bedside from one day to the next. The phone worked without any problems up to this point. It is about 2 1/2 years.

  All my contacts are on the phone and not have been backed up or saved on the sim card.

  Anyone have any suggestions to turn the phone so that I can download at least my contacts?

  Given what you describe, I assume there to be hopeless... nothing can get your BB to start considering what you describe. And all the tips recovery remaining would erase the own BB in the context of the recovery, and your data will be lost. It seems to me that, whatever happens, this old adage applies to you:

  • There are two types of computers of users of devices - those who have lost data and those who will be

  I fear that you are about to migrate from the latter to the former. Backups, quite simply, are not an optional activity.

  Let us know if you want some of the radical of the recovery tools (destruction of data) to try...

  You can always update your firmware with iTunes. But it seems you might have a larger, likely hardware problem with your phone.

  Try to restore the firmware with iTunes. If this does not help, make an appointment with a genius at the Apple Store.

  Try to zap the PRAM or reset the SMC.

  I just encountered the same problem. While watching the TV, it shuts down suddenly. Even model & 18 months and now dead. If I leave it plugged in now, we get the same thing - the power switch flashes between green and Red intermittently seconds or - but no picture at all.

  What's wrong?
