Q5 Q5 blackBerry cannot be unlocked?

Bought a Q5 of Koodo Canada which has been unlocked through 3rd party unblock, who broke down and was replaced through the warranty by Koodo.

The replacement phone seems to be a refurbished phone.  This device could not be unlocked by 3rd party unlocking services or by Koodo.  Technical support to the Koodo indicated he had a material and he must be sent for repair.

Another phone released was released.  The second replacement unit could not also be unlocked through 3rd party release.  To complicate things - the IMEI on this unit is not in the database of Koodo (they just replaced it with some random phone, I can't determine the original supplier) and does not help to repair under warranty, nor help to try to unlock again and suggested to contact Blackberry.

As I understand it from poking around on the net, handed to nine models are problematic to unlock.  I can not get the number of PRD or Appointment as Koodo will support is no longer this loser of a unit they gave in return for me.

Can anyone suggest how to get this unlocked phone?

By the way - does anyone know how to determine which network a phone is locked by IMEI or other means?

Thank you!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can unlock you youre BELL mobility phone to be used on any network?

I contacted bell mobility asked my unlock code unlock Blackberry tour 9630. They gave it to me but I'm still not able to unlock the phone and im only at 5 other tests how do I unlock my phone can someone help me?

Interesting... they gave you two somewhat contradictory answers...

    (1) it cannot be unlocked, because it's on a network CDMA (no exact, btw)

    (2) they will not unlock it because they want to keep it on their network (a policy rather than a technology issue)

In both cases, I wonder why on earth would they bother to give you the code?

So, you have challenged their evolution on this contradiction? BTW - if they stick by number 2, then your "free" unlock option does not exist and you have to pay to do.

I have the unlock codes for BBTorch 9800, however, when I enter a code that has too many digits (16).  When I try to enter in these numbers, it doesn't let me, he says that the sim card is not valid.  The sim card needs to be active so that it works?.  Also, the former owner of the phone just locked on me and I need to unlock the phone or reset it.  How can I do this?  Can you help me?

    Hello

I went to a website and pay $6 for the unlock code for my torch and was about 18 numbers... When you enter the code of the sim card you use shouldn't be the network you are on... it will specify that the sim card is invslid and then ask if you want to unlock the handset... answer you Yes... and then enter the code... you are normally only allowed to enter the 10 digits... and then it needs to be unlocked... If it is not try this site the link ok is bleow

  • Classic BlackBerry cannot unlock my Classic

I have a simple password that I used to unlock my new Blackberry classic. Today my phone refuses to accept the password.

The password was created recently, but I've used it since a week without a problem. It's fresh in my mind and I am certainly not go wrong. I had shared with my son who also had no problem unlocking my phone until today.

The previous questioners with this problem are that they accidentally entered numbers instead of numbers, or vice versa. It is certainly not that. Or I use caps accidentally.

The only option I can think of is to wait for the battery to go down and see if it works after having been completely off for awhile (I already tried a quick restart with no luck).

Has anyone encountered this before? Any advice?

    Thank you

Of course no sooner create this thread then solve this problem.

The phone had asked to type me in "blackberry" before making further attempts of password. I was so wrapped up in what could be the password that I had not noticed above the password input box.

Once I did I found that my password was working again. Don't know how I got so many bad tent first but leaving HERE dealing with another person still has the same issue and needs ideas.

  • Blackberry Curve 8320 unlocked blackBerry smartphones

    Hello

I have not actually bought my Blackberry yet, but I'm looking into it right now. I want to buy a unlocked Blackberry Curve 8320 which was previously on AT & T or T-mobile (I'm a couple more different). Anyway, I wanted to buy a Blackberry and place it on a data plan with Rogers Canada. I'm doing this because I want to be able to use BBM, so I think I need a data plan.

I buy the Blackberry separately because I want to be able to use overseas when I use another GSM SIM card for example. I know doing it on contract is cheaper, but I don't want to do that because I will be locked on a 3 year contract and I won't be at the Canada for 3 years.

I just want to know if the Rogers data network will work with a Blackberry unlocked as I described above. I asked Rogers customer service and they said that they cannot confirm that the Rogers data network will be to 'connect' with the unlocked Blackberry because it once belonged to another provider and I should buy a Blackberry from Rogers. I don't know if they just said that if I would buy the Blackberry from Rogers rather than elsewhere. I know the unlocked Blackberry should work fine with a regular for calls and SMS GSM SIM card and all that but I want to know specifically about BBM - ing.

Sorry, my question is so long. Thanks a lot for your help!

While Canadian companies may be different from their American counterarts I do not that the differences are only significant to materially affect my response.

When you buy a 'new' locked onto a support device will be offered the device at a price at a price significantly lower than the retail price recommended for her.  That's what prescribed contractual lock in as they recover for the duration of the contract, the difference between what you pay and the cost.  They're subsidizing the price in order to collect a healthy monthly fees for access.

All U.S. carriers require a data plan for smartphones in addition to any general "plans" for just minutes and text packages etc.  I guess that Canadian businesses require the same.

In order to use BBM you need a dataplan carriers which is what allows your device use the features of the BIS (Blackberry Internet service) requiring Blackberry data push, e-mail, all what is "data".

This is a new in the box device purchased by your friends at Rogers.  They sold you a Blackberry and they dance as they listen to the registry will chaching.  This is music to their ears.  This is an item being sold and it is "locked" to Rogers.  Of course, for each month of your servitude under contract happen to dance again once the Registry continues to provide them with more chaching.

You bought a camera from them, you can use it at this stage only with them.  They will be as you might or might not be aware subject to various and assorted penalties if you tire of their service or their absence and take your business elsewhere, or try.  Costs of early termination can easily exceed your initial cost plus for a premium, in a credit institution, violating laws governing wear.

It's what keeps dissatisfied customers even with the carriers that are less satisfactory.  It is just too expensive to leave while allowing some, but not all carriers for you 'sell' the balance of your contract to another.  If Rogers of permits that are unknown to me.

If you buy an "unlocked" device it is expected of the band is compatible with Rogers (GSM/CDMA as the case may be) perfectly capable to be activated on their network.

Their after-sales service is to use a euphemism, blowing smoke.  They know perfectly well that a device unlocked regardless of its origin.  They won't make you a device for which they do not receive rewarding chaching first and make run on their network.  Since you did not pay a subsidized price for the device that you are not obliged to a three-year plan or some length Rogers requires for locked for new devices.

While they play stupid indeed hoping you will buy them and locked himself in a service contract.  It's guaranteed money for thirty-six months.  It's a lot of money.

Assuming you get to admit only a 8320 unlocked (GSM) will play well with their network that you can buy a phone, monthly data on the plan without being locked in a period of time.

You will absolutely need the dataplan however, at least the minimum plan they offer will prevent access to the services that make it a Blackberry.

Of major importance for you in as long as purchaser of a used instrument is the only one not is indeed "unlocked" but the PIN was released by the former owner and the access to its carrier, T-Mobile or AT & T.  Every Blackberry is assigned a unique PIN that lives with her forever.  For example, if I want to sell my unlocked Blackberry Storm I will have to make arrangements for the release of the Verizon PIN so that a subsequent purchaser can activate the storm on Verizon (my service provider) or such that it is unlocked any service provider, as it really is a universal device capable of activation on a CDMA/GSM/UMTS network or Global.

I would like to buy a used if and only if it is verifiable that the PIN was released by the previous owner/carrier.  With the instrument in hand, it can be checked on the device or not it is unlocked.  The output of the SPINDLE must be verified by the previous carrier and I'm too cynical, but I wouldn't take the word of the seller unless it was a very trustworthy family member and even then, I would like to politely ask for verification.

Rogers wants money on your part.  They want the money upfront to sell you a Blackberry and they want the contract guaranteed money for the long term for the months down the line.  For Rogers, it's win/win.

You can, even if it's an expensive to buy a new device of Rogers at the MSRP and not you will not lock in a three-year contract.  The majority of carriers who does not advertise that the difference is more than lost long-term do not lock you in their.

I hope this helps.  If I appear cynical, it's because I am.  Carriers are there to increase their profits and integrity is lost in the maze.

  • Version Blackberry Leap Leap unlocked blackBerry

My old Z10 of two years died a little more than a week.  (Yes, I tried all the stuff).  Using my Torch 9800 now, but the 3G is a bit slow.  So, I am interested in the jump.  I didn't buy a phone unlocked before, while I was just trying to confirm a number of things.

It will work with my ATT sim card, any measure special necessary?

I'll be able to restore my backup of my Z10 Blackberry link for the jump?

In addition, ATT gave a Z10 replacement for $215.  With the jump to $275, I think it's the best choice.  In addition, most of the phones (Samsung & iPhone) go far the expandable memory, which I use to save my data and backup on my external hard drive.

Sorry if I missed this information somewhere else.

    To close this thread

  • Passport for blackBerry cannot update Passport SE to 10.3.2.2836

    Hello

A few days ago, I bought a new passport Silver Edition.

I can't restore my contacts and schedule the backup of my old passport.

The error message in the Blackberry link is by analogy: cannot restore Contacts Lokal / calendar data because of different versions of the OS.

    The Passport OS version: 10.3.2.2836

Silver Edition OS passport version: 10.3.2.2474

But I can't update the Passport SE. Each new OS research said: you have the version currently installed. No new version of operating system available.

How can I update my passport SE to 10.3.2.2836?

Or how can I transfer my contacts a calendar data to my old passport to new passport SE?

    Thank you in advance!

Excellent... I'm glad that you found that. Others refer to:

  • Z10 blackBerry cannot connect to the network mobile/phone on Z10

Please, I am unable to connect to the mobile network. cannot make or receive calls.

whenever I restart the unit on Black berry z10, it resets the date and time of the year 2015 instead of the year 2016.

It has been a challenge after that my camera has been upgraded to 10.3.2.2836

    Please I need your help

As a last resort, I would use an autoloader to reload the operating system.  If this does not work after that then it is a hardware failure, or the device is not compatible with the networks in your area.  Assuming that this worked before and suddenly left leads me to believe that it's a hardware problem.

  • Q10 blackBerry cannot send email from my Q10 without wi fi

When I'm away from my wifi e-mails can be received but not sent.  My email address is by Cogeco and Rogers is wireless network.  Or to say that they can help me.  Rogers stated that Cogeco and Rogers do not connect together, and that the previous software used by Blackberry has been changed.  This makes my useless email so on the road.  A blackberry should send emails!  I don't know whether to believe Rogers or not!  They said there is a fix, but it would make my BB cannot send e-mails while I'm at home.  This situation will be resolved by Blackberry?

Hello and welcome to the community!

    Reference:

    • KB33824 How to integrate a Cogeco e-mail on a smartphone BlackBerry PlayBook or BlackBerry 10

Carefully note the information at the bottom of this KB... the problem is with Cogeco, not the BlackBerry. I suspect the fix they mentioned is to use Cogeco outside facing SMTP servers, which may not be accessible when you're home (e.g., Cogeco system "inside").

A different difficulty would be to abandon Cogeco for an email provider that allows you indeed appropriate access to their servers of e-mail from all locations. You could put a redirector on Cogeco to this other email provider.

    Good luck!

    Hello! Welcome to the forums.

Great question! What happens usually when you enter your MEP incorrectly (often 10 times) is your device will be permanently locked to the specific carrier and BlackBerry only can unlcock it. See you soon!

    Hey all,.

I have a problem recently where my BlackBerry link cannot be connected to my device.  When I connect my Q10 with computer it says: "cannot communicate with the device.  It shows that my phone is charging, however, and I don't understand why I can't sync music, videos, photos with my computer.  He worked last month, and now it seems that I can't do anything on the computer with my BlackBerry.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Here's a knockout who deals with this error:

    • KB26745 BlackBerry Desktop Software or BlackBerry link displays the message "update failed" or "cannot communicate with the device" when connection to the 10 BlackBerry smartphone or BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet via USB

I hope that it contains something useful! There are also several existing threads on this site, which discuss exact error... your opinion of those who may prove useful, and a search of this website, by using the error message, error code or symptom, should reveal all the existing threads that are applicable to you.
