Qosimio F10: Work does ' t Boot-CD/DVD!

Hi all.

My qosmio F10 does not start for the DVD player, if I select it on the screen or start with the change of the Bootorder of the BIOS (or HW-Setup utility).

The drive is Bootable (for example, Windows recovery CD/DVD, cd Knoppix), but the car behaves as the hard drive is non-existent and goes on HARD or NW-startup disk.

Drive is a pioneer DVR - K16 Super multi-DVD-drive

Steps to follow:

Pressing the F12 key at startup
selection of CD-symbol

Thanks for all the answers.

Press the C key on startup and keep it down for a few seconds.

    Hello

You understand that you must specify if it is a hardware or software problem.
Unfortunately, you can find this secret only using recovery DVD (CD).
Toshiba recovery installation will define the laptop back to the factory settings. In this case you may find whether or not the CD/DVD device is defective.

If the player will not play the DVD after the reinstallation of the operating system, then chances are that it is a CD/DVD drive error.

  • H8XT does not start a DVD player

I recently bought a H8XT and I want to do a clean install of windows 7.  The DVD drive seems to work very well and I used it to create the recovery discs already.  However, when I try to boot from the DVD drive, the boot in the bios menu does not show the DVD player.  I t shows a generic drive called "ATAPI CD/DVD Drive.  Even when I try to choose that it does not start on the DVD, it always starts on the hard drive.  I have this research group and found a position with a similar problem to mine.  Here it is:

The solution for this post was to clear the CMOS.  However, my motherboard is not exactly like the one shown in this post, and I can't figure out how to clear the CMOS memory.  In the 'Clear the CMOS' link in figure 4, it shows 2 jumpers on the right side of the 6-pin.   In my system, 2 riders are on the left side 6 pins.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestions.   It turns out that when I burned an image of windows 7 on DVD, it does not burn properly and is not bootable.

  • DVD burner does not recognize blank dvd inserted

DVD burner does not recognize blank dvd inserted into the pc

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD

    do it right.

  • Can't boot from DVD or USB! Windows 8

It then it really starts to bug me! I tried to solve this problem for a few hours now, and this is absolutely not the case! So I want to do a clean install of Windows 8. I did all the steps to get it on a dvd and a bootable USB.  That was the easy part.  At first I tried to boot into DVD, I went to the Bios and the value of the first boot priority CD/DVD. After that and several reboots I get nothing! I went into F12 and it said to start from the hard drive. Good if it does not work. I go to copy the Windows 8 ISO on a USB key. Good in fact, it was easy, I can go into the Bios again and don't see an option for USB FLASH directly, but see other options start USB, such as USB, FLOPPY USB, DVD, AND USB HARD DRIVE. I first select USB DVD, after several reboot nothing! Went to F12 (boot options) and still nothing! Then, I chose USB HARD DRIVE, exactly the same thing! So now I am on my knees and gave up! I ask for help in my community and I hope that you guys can understand this.

I just bought the computer 3 weeks ago its a new Aurora R4. I don't know whether it is a hardware problem, it seems. I tried to boot from the CD/DVD with the re - install OS AlienWare gave me and it read perfectly. So if it fills up it should work right? Then I tried several blank DVDs and even went out and bought some new! Still nothing! Ahhh, sorry it's really bugging me. Something so simple, but I'm so lost.

Thanks for any help from friends!

    Dave, :)

Press f2 to enter setup, disable the option "password at startup" and to record changes... now boot... you're done. Thank you

  • iMovie does not open Costco DVD VHS movies converted

iMovie for Mac does not open Costco DVD converts VHS movies at home. I don't know that I was able to do what a few years with an older version of iMovie. There is a limitation with iMovie? DVD of Costco is just a bunch of old family VHS home movies.

iMovie, current or previous version, is not about DVD, which is a way for the end user.   iDVD is the application designed to work with the DVD, and there are several other design programs that do the same.  However, you can play your DVD on your computer or on a DVD player.

To get your DVD movies to work with iMovie, you can open the content of the packaging of the DVD to reveal the VOB (video object) files and convert them to a format compatible with iMovie, such as MP4.  In recent years, I did, but I think that you insert the DVD into the disc drive of your computer and then right click on the DVD icon that appears on your desktop to reveal the VOB files you can drag - copy on your desktop.  There are conversion programs videacute, like the free download Handbrake, which can then convert VOB files.    Someone who has done more recently can weigh in here with more information.

    Hello

I have a Satellite L30-105 (PSL33E) with windows Vista. Windows Vista does not recognize the DVD - ram. BIOS recognize DVD-ram. I tried to download the drivers for the DVD-ram, but they are not on the side of Toshiba.

Who can help me to get the right driver or learn more? Problems with the carpet * a DVD-ram uj-850 s ATA device and windows Vista.

    Hello

The CD/DVD drive needs no special drivers!
Vista includes a Microsoft driver that works with all CURIOUS s (CD/DVD drives)

Simply said, the Vista should recognize the drive without any problems.

A few questions; did you get any error messages? What is the status of Device Manager? Do you see yellow exclamation points?

There is an old way to correct a similar drive problem. It worked on XP then try it on Vista OS.
It of necessary to update the registry entry
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    1. click on the start menu.
    2. If it is a Vista machine in the search box type regedit without quotes.
    3. look for the registry key mentioned above.
    4. in the right panel you'll see something along the lines of UpperFilter and UpperFilter you want to click on each key filter and tap on delete. Click Yes when asked to confirm if you want to delete the key.
    5. restart Windows.
6 let me know if it works.

    Hello

I also suggest trying different brands of DVD.
Generally, you will find a list of DVDs and CDs, tested and compatible media in the user manual. Check it out.

  • XP does not support burning DVDs or need for resettlement?

The combo CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive in my work more former Windows computer has failed. I replaced it with a DVD +/-RW recovered on a newer computer broken. The computer came with Windows 98SE (I said it was my most old), but I had it installed the player that can only play DVD's before the upgrade to XP.

I thought the Hardware Wizard to detect the new drive looked like XP it can now burn DVDs, but everything concerning the integrated burning guard speaks "copy to CD" or "burn CD" and encouraging me to "insert a blank CD.

Not XP SP3 doesn't support data DVD burning using built-in tools, or should I reinstall or repair XP to recognize that the only CD burner has been replaced by a DVD burner? It would be easier to find just a 3rd party free tools. I didn't break anything to use as I got a burner that has been integrated into another computer (breath capacitors on the motherboard) burner who gave to a recycling center after having been stripped of useful things like a hard drive replacement, and a 56K modem/fax on a map. (the modem may not be useful nowadays, but fax is).

I'm afraid that "native" DVD burning was introduced not to Windows until Vista. XP does not support native DVD burning. However, you can use 3rd party burning software. Most "retail" burn the material will be delivered with a CD offering a 'lite version' of such software, for example Nero.

There are also freebies autour. Many on this forum recommend imgburn

(I have no experience of this product on which to base a personal recommendation)

    Hello

1 how long have you been faced with this problem?
    2. don't you make changes on the computer before this problem?

Start the computer by using the Microsoft Windows XP recovery console, and then perform a check disk on the file system.

To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Insert the Windows XP CD in the CD-ROM or DVD - ROM drive, and then restart the computer. Select the required options to start the computer from the CD-ROM or DVD - ROM drive if you are prompted to do so.
    2. once the Welcome to Setup screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
    3. If your computer is configured to dual-boot or multiple boot, select the appropriate installation of Windows XP.
    4. When you are prompted to do so, type the administrator password and press ENTER. NOTE: In Windows XP Home Edition, the administrator password is blank by default.
    5. at the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER: cd system32
    6. type the following command and press ENTER: chkdsk /r /p
    7. remove the Windows XP CD in the disc drive.
    8. Type exit to restart your computer.

Important: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost
