Qosmio F - installation of recovery with portable CD/DVD player

Hello

I need help, I need to reformat my Qosmio using the recovery CD, but my problem is that my CD/DVD drive does not work. So I decided to buy the new portable CD/DVD player. When I try to reformat using the restore CD in the portable CD player that does not work.

I have an external hard drive, my plan is to transfer the hard disk then I'll use it to reformat my computer. is it possible and how can I do?
Can someone show me how to solve my problem?

Thank you
rtmasagca

Hey Buddy,

I think that the installation of recovery is not possible because it can be made of internal CD/DVD drive.
I put t know what laptop you have because you n t will display information but most of the computers laptops don't support booting from an external drive.

Therefore, buy a new internal drive to install Windows recovery disk. Then it won't work.

    Hello Kubs

I see only one solution: you have to somehow use external DVD player and make it visible to your laptop. I try didn t, but I guess you need to start your laptop using WXP startdisc and load the MS-DOS driver for external device.
If you will have success to access external hard drive I guess that you will be able to start the recovery procedure.

  • Windows 7 installation of the CD - requires CD / DVD player

Hi, I am installing Windows 7 on CD on a new machine (new HD like the old one failed).

I can get the machine to start the installation (I can click on "install Windows 7"), but then immediately he asks a saying CD/DVD device driver is absent.

The driver is very likely to be missing is a new hard drive, but I cannot take place even if the machine can use CD player to recognize the Windows 7 disc and start the Setup process (from the CD player), but not everything can go further.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thank you.

It of a shot in the water and no sense complete because the error message complains of a CD/DVD driver rather than a hard disk driver, but you can go into the BIOS and change SATA of Enhanced in AHCI option (your BH12LS38 from LG is a SATA device).

FTM the tsscorp drive that is installed in the camera no longer works (does not detect any type of media what so ever). ) need to recover the laptop, so I used a USB DVD drive to boot from the restore disc, but after that the charges of recovery console it says waiting for media in the f: drive, which is the tsscorp drive although I used an external drive to load the disc.

What files should I edit to make it to load from the drive externally and if this isn't the solution, what do I do?

    Hey Buddy,

Unfortunately I think that it of not possible to use the recovery with external CD/DVD drive disc. Therefore, place the internal for use the recovery disc.
You can get a new drive to an authorized service provider.

But if the original OS from Toshiba is installed, you can use the function of disk recovery HARD reinstall Windows as well. Go to the advanced boot menu (F8) and select Repair my computer :)

  • Qosmio G30 - installation of Windows 7

    Hello

I recently installed Windows 7 on my Qosmio G30 (w / HD-DVD). Having noticed that some people have had problems with it, I decided to post my procedure.

My Qosmio has 2 hard drives with XP MCE installed on the primary. The RAID settings are 1RAID0 and JBOD. I decided to install Windows 7 on the second disc of HARD to dual boot with XP.

    1. upgrade the BIOS to 3.90
2 put the Toshiba RAID for Vista (version 1.10.0016) drivers on a USB key.
    3. use the Win7 DVD to portable computer startup in the installation program, it's better than the installer of in Windows XP/Vista.
4 load the RAID during the installation drivers to use hard drives (click on "Load driver").
    5. install Win7.
6 install Windows Update and let it download the necessary drivers.

You may need to manually install the drivers for Bluetooth and video Capture card.

The upgrade process went smooth every thing takes less than 2 hours.

Note that the Windows 7 installer does not recursively for the RAID drivers search, you must select the folder holding the KR10N. INF file in the location of the RAID driver.

    Hope this helps someone.

  • Installation of recovery on Satellite M105-S3004

    Hi I'm new here.

I have a Satellite M105-S3004 bought more than a year ago. The dejected XP operating system about a month ago. I tried to reinstall it by myself because the warranty has expired. I tried several times but all failed. I'll try to describe what I saw as accurate as possible below. Thank you first of all for good guys in this forum.

At first, my laptop rebooted automatically when he was running. Sometimes when I turned it on, he tried several times to start Windows XP. Between these tests, the screen was blue with error message to this topic. He was so fast that I couldn't read anything. Finally my laptop didn't start XP even in safe mode, with the following error:
    \windows\system32\config\system missing or corrupt
Then I started to reinstall XP Home edition (I have a Toshiba Recovery DVD. But first I do the opinion of t to use. It seems different from a Windows XP CD. "But I was finally told of Toshiba Recovery DVD has a copy of XP media center version). I tried three times to reinstall XP Home Edition. The facilities have been successful and I could restart the notebook after installing. However, if I turn it off completely for several minutes, then lit, error message:
    \windows\system32\config\system missing or corrupt
    or
error: load needed DLLs for HAL
I was completely lost. What the hell was going on? One of my friends suggested that the hard drive is broken. I bought a new one (same model) and tried, my cell phone was dead to
    Setup starts windows
    during the installation.
I also run the Memtest86 memory testing software + and found one of the memoirs of 512MB (533 MHz) is a mistake. I only replaced with an another 512 MB (667 MHz), run successfully the test software, no error, then reinstalled XP Home Edition. When I tried to restart, failed with the error:
    \windows\system32\config\system missing or corrupt
I took the 512 MB of memory (667 MHz) and one integrated on the left. This time I even could not in the BIOS. (Toshiba is really wired. For my computer, you can replace only a memory. The other location is built and you can do nothing. I have never seen this before.)

Now say something about the recovery DVDs. When I followed the instructions and put it in the DVD player and tried to boot from this DVD. First of all, it went well.
    Loading RAMDisk image
    Then the error message:
file \i386\system32\ntoskrnl.exe could not be loaded. Error code # 4
This happened before I replaced the memory.

After replacing the memories I tried the recovery DVDs. The error code is different:
file setupdd.sys could not be loaded. Error code is 4.

Now, I can't help. I spent a lot of time on this computer. I feel really frustrated. Before I send my laptop for repair, I hope I can get some advice from you guys and I can learn what is really happening. Million thanks in advance.

    Hello

He is a man very long history.

I read your whole post and in my opinion there's nothing wrong with the HARD drive because you were able to install the OS on the HARD drive but there may be something wrong with the two memory modules.

You're right about the memory locations.
It seems that only a module of memory is upgraded to the user and the second memory is hidden somewhere beneath the keyboard.

You have replaced one module but possible malfunctions second too!  :|
It would be really interesting to know if this problem could be solved by the replacement of the memory two modules.

In your case, I would recommend contact a computer technician, because as you said it of very difficult to find and remove the second module on the Satellite M105.

Then, you can try to install the OS of the delivered Toshiba DVD or from the original CD of Microsoft windows.

    Good luck

  • Cannot start the installation of recovery on my Satellite A200 - 28 p

I'm trying to restore my PC laptop Toshiba Satellite A200 - 28 p (Windows Vista Home Edition) by using the recovery disk of the product supplied with the laptop, no matter what I try to do, I can not run, the only thing that it will allow me to do is to restore the laptop to an earlier date. I have full admin rights on the laptop, there is no virus or other malware on it, all this seems to have happened because he updated with windows vista, about two days ago have uninstalled the updates, but that has no effect.

I can't find anywhere on the laptop recovery console, but I know it was there before. I tried a lot of solutions available on the web, but none of them work. I used the recovery disc about 2 1/2 years when the laptop crashed and it worked fine then.

    Any help apprecited

I don't remember how it was with A200.
You only have a recovery DVD or you could also launch the installation of recovery of HARD drive using F8 at startup (advanced startup options > fix my computer)?

In any case, the description of your problem confuses me.
If you are using the recovery as boot drive DVD there is no console repair or some options.
Installation of recovery on startup, you can only see menu where you have to click on next.

  • Qosmio G20-108 Windows recovery problem.

    Hello

I just purchased a Qosmio G20-108 of ebay and the seller said that the laptop is ok but I had a virus previously and it wiped the HARD drive. The DVD player has so replaced it by a new one, but he couldn't just load the recovery of Windows Media Center. I bought the laptop thinking that I can fix it but I could not and now I felt stupid: (.)

When I turn it on, you receive this error message:

    ERROR ATA #1

Intel (r) Boot Agen FE v4.1.16
    Copyright (C) 1997-2004, Intel Corporation

PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
PXE - M0F: Exit Intel Boot Agent.

Someone has an idea on how to solve this problem before sending it to the "Topaz" Support and cost me a fortune?

    Thank you.

If the DVD player is replaced, you are 100% sure it works well then you probably have a problem with faulty HARD drive.

If possible, try to get one for testing purposes. It can be used. Replace the HARD drive and try to install the top OS. Check if you have full access to the HARD drive.
