Qosmio F20-137 starts only in safe mode

Hi all

The other night I tried to update my software to the iphone via itunes on the cell above type and he always took a day and kept failing so thought I would leave until the next day. The next day, when I turned on my laptop, the initial splash screen qosmio came immediately followed by a full page of random letters, numbers and shapes. This step was followed by followed normal loading windows xp still screen by a blue screen that appears very fast with full info on which you can read as it appears only a fraction of a second! Laptop computer then restarts, and the process is repeated, endlessly looped.

I managed to start the computer in safe mode and ran the diagnostic tool and the hard drive, processor, graphics etc all test OK. I also had the NIC in safe mode and have been able to connect to the internet, etc.

Is there a possibility that this could be a fault of RAM? Is there no quick check I can do to determine this replacing it? In addition, do not know if it's related but windows asked me at the beginning upward in safe mode to increase the file size of virtual memory page was not big enough.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you very much

Sam

Hello

You should try utility called www.memtest.org Memtest to test the RAM if the test shows that your Ram is ok, reinstall the Os.

    Hi Malinda1979,

Since you formatted and installed windows, its non-secure mode. Try to install display drivers. You can check if the display drivers are installed correctly click Start-> settings-> Control Panel-> system. Hardware-> display adapters. Hello

I'm having a problem with my Satellite 2450 where it is not initialize properly - is stuck in the screen of Windows XP (just continues to scroll through and hangs there).
I can boot into safe mode.
Have not had any other problems with it - no errors, do not have installed/uninstalled anything recently.

Any ideas what could cause this problem?
Do you think I should use the recovery disk to reinstall the OS? Anything less drastic I can try?

    any advice appreciated,
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Usually, if the laptop does not start correctly in normal mode, but only in SafeMode because some drivers or / and software applications are false or defective.
In this case, the recovery procedure should solve this problem.

  • Computer starts only in safe mode

I went to stop my dell studio 1737 last night and it is stuck on "shutting down" and so finally I used the power button to turn it off, and now it will only start in safe mode or safe mode with network.  My restore disk is in stock somewhere as I just moved it background.

Can someone help me solve this problem without the ERD?  I made the diagnosis and it passed everything.

    Hi KDWilson,

1 did you recent hardware or changes to the software of the system?

    2. you receive messages or error codes when you try to start in normal mode?

Because you can start in safe mode, you can try to perform a system restore and see if it helps.

Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

To run the system restore, you can consult the following links:

  • Windows does not start successfully - only in safe mode.

I have a 3200 HP with XP Home Edition. Windows starts only in Mode safe when I download Service Pack 3. Is there a way to fix this without doing a complete restore of the system.  I've been running without SP3 because I knew of this issue. Recently, it has been downloaded and now Windows does not start successfully.  Only in Safe Mode.   When I discovered this problem, I was able to fix it, but can't remember if it was fixed without doing a complete restore of the system and starting over.

  • Question about upgading Qosmio F20-137 to dual-core

Hi I want to rank up my Qosmio F20-137 to dual-core. I just need some advice on which one to buy.
    Thank you
    Chris

    Hello

Needless to say that a CPU upgrade in a laptop is totally sensless because you won´t gain true high performance. On the other side, you have to be a technician who should be familiar with these systems, because a mobile system is NOT THE SAME as a desktop system.

    Regarding your question:
This system is not able to take a dual-core cpu, because you only have an Intel 910 chipset / 915GM which can only take Intel pentium M.

If you don t believe me just check out this site:

    http://www.Intel.com/products/chipsets/915GM/index.htm

  • Windows XP worked when to stop, and when turned on overnight, it only shows: safe mode, safe mode with networking etc. This is the result of an update from Microsoft to restart?

The system does not start normally and brings only to the top of the screen black ad askes to start windows normally, safe mode or network, etc.  What should I do?

    Hello Larry,.

    Once selected, Safe Mode works?

If so, try boot minimum troubleshooting:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/316434

If this is not the case, have we not access to a Windows XP CD?

If so, we can use it to boot into the Recovery Console and to pursue the options from there.

    Let us know.
