If your device has no Vista capable sticker, I'm really skeptical about the Vista drivers for this laptop. :(

As the Reaver written, check from time to time this Vista download page.

    F30 drivers work?

    Hello

I m afraid. Toshiba will not publish for F20 Vista drivers at this moment :(

You know the knowledge base of Toshiba? You can find it on the home page of the Toshiba support.
However, I studied a bit in this base and found this article:
Microsoft Windows Vista Driver Support for Toshiba laptops models
    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB7201SK002HR01.htm

There are several series of laptops listed, but unfortunately not a Qosmio F20 :(

However, the G20 is also not listed in this list, but some G20 here in the forum users have managed to reinstall Vista and additional drivers.
    Try it.

  • Need your opinion on Qosmio F20-153

    Hello

I'm considering buying a QOSMIO F20-153 and I was wondering if anyone knew if the Sims 2 are played on this subject, because graphics cards cannot play. And also, as it has Microsoft Media center as the operating system, Access and Excel come from on this?

    Hello

Well, the Qosmio is a very nice unit with a very high performance.
Laptops generally use different graphics drivers like the desktop PC.
The adapters that are installed in laptops are a little different than the graphics in desktop computers.
In this case specifications manufacturers recommend in graphic form drivers for laptop manufacturers Web sites.
These drivers are sometimes not up-to-date and sometimes newer games need new graphics drivers.
In my opinion, if someone needs a unit to play ONLY games at the best way to use the desktop. These units are also easier to upgrade equipment.

Toshiba laptops, Microsoft office is not preinstalled on computers. If you want to use it, you must purchase applications.

  • Qosmio F20 - 153 - stuck on the log in page

    Hello

I have a Qosmio F20 - 153 and when I boot up I get beyond the log in page. It won't let me choose my username so I'm just stuck on this screen. I think I need to perform a recovery CD system but I don't have the CD. Is it possible to download the CD recovery from somewhere, or have any other ideas?

    Thank you

    Hello

    > Is it possible to download the CD recovery from somewhere or have any other ideas?

Unfortunately, there is no link to download. Please order for money from Toshiba:

    [Recovery disk | https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx]

Or copy of windows disk and do a custom installation. All drivers and utilities can be found here:

    [Toshiba drivers | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp]

  • Qosmio F20-153 - ntoskrnl.exe file missing

    Hello

I have an almost 5 year old toshiba Qosmio F20-153, which has developed an error with the Windows message root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe file is missing.
I wonder if it's fixable without completely re - install the complete operating system that I still have the Toshiba restore disk.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Hey Buddy,

In my view, your only option is recovering the entire notebook. The Toshiba Recovery disk only contains an image of factory settings, which means that you can t install this single file of this disc.
In addition it s a good idea to reinstall Windows from time to time. If your installation is already 5 years old, you should do this. You will be surprised with the speed of your laptop is after that. :)

Use the recovery disk is quite simple: you must boot from that disk and follow the instructions on the screen. You do a few clicks only and that s it!

  • Hybrid Analog/DVB-T card does not work - Qosmio F50

Hybrid Analog/DVB-T card does not (Windows Vista Home Premium).

Channel zero came after scanning with Media Center. Sent to the hardware engineers.
Tha card has been tested in a "fresh load of Windows" and worked well.

It was suggested to clean and reload Windows.
I made and tested with and without having to download Service Pack 1. Still does not work. Driver has also been updated (2.3.3.21).

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Hello

First of all, you should test the portable DVB - T with Toshiba s card preinstalled Vista.
Everything has been set up and should work fine

I think that it s not Analog/DVB-T Hybrid card problem.

Maybe the DVB - T signal is too weak and therefore you do not find the TV channels using this card.

In my country and the region, the DVB - T signal is really weak and I need a DVB - T antenna to receive the signal and the channels!

  • Drivers and utilities for Qosmio F20 running Vista

Hi, I had a Qosmio F20 (PQF20A) computer laptop running Windows Vista

None of the drivers and original utilities were installed, and none of the function buttons/keys work.

Some drivers, I was able to install through update (Device Manager) and Toshiba Support

I looked up support for public services and the only drivers/utils available are for * XP * ONLY

When I try to install the Modules or controls or any other Vista drivers/utilities it stops and says "TVALZ Driver Installation Failed" and then "driver blocked due to incompatibility, for more information, contact Toshiba... »

Can't find anything relevant on the Toshiba site. I looked towards the top of Toshiba in various regions for support...

    There the drivers/Utils for Vista?
    Help, please!

    Hello

Unfortunately, the Toshiba Vista tools or utilities for Qosmio F20 don t it.
As far as I know the Qosmio F20 series and the G20 have been designed and equipped only with the XP operating system and so Vista drivers were not released.

You can try to search for some unique drivers on Internet sites s chip maker but features such as the control keys or the FN buttons will not work with Vista :(

    Good bye

  • Qosmio F20-153 - strange question DVD RAM

    Hello

recently bought a F20-153 (PQF22E) the DVD RAM drive was a UJ-840 and had the problem of common reading and writing on discs, I have a UJ-841 replacement, but when I set up the BIOS came with the CR ROM of ERROR report.

So I bought a different known working 840 a laptop Toshiba, it equipped and the BIOS came back with the same ERROR of CD ROM on start up.

Now for the weird, I closed the lid and went to make a cup of tea and have a think about, when I opened this new Windows has detected the drive, install the drivers, and now I have a working drive... BUT...

Whenever I stop the laptop, it reports the same error on start up, and yet once there drive when first at Windows startup, but once his punt and I put it in hibernation, the drive appears again and works perfectly.

I tried this since the 841 and the same thing is happening, just checked in the Device Manager and noticed that while the label says UJ-840, Windows reports the 'new' 840 as a 831.

I read that the Qosmio player needs must be set to master, this could be the problem? Or Toshiba locking of the type of drive in the BIOS?
The UJ-831 that I have discovered came from a satellite.

Sorry this is such a long post, I wanted to just participate as much detail as possible, all you have ideas?

Had a lot of views but answers just this give a slight bump in case anyone has any ideas

  • Qosmio G40-10 s - driver software for device has not been installed successfully

    I get a message...
Software device driver has not been installed successfully.
    Memory PCI controller... failed

Is this a problem with my laptop or software that has been loaded. Now on Windows 7 32 bit Vista

    Hi spudcam,

This means that for the memory controller PCI is no driver installed?

Well, it is difficult to say which driver you need exactly and Windows 7's official is not compatible with the Qosmio G40.

AFAIK memory PCI controller is Intel Turbo Memory module, so you would need Robson package driver of the official website of Toshiba.
Now, I looked on the page of Toshiba and guess what, it s is available for G40 and Windows 7. :)

    Check this box!

  • Installation of Qosmio G35 - V660 Vista - drivers needed!

I bought the full Windows Vista Edition upgrade. I installed the new update of the BIOS (now at version 1.7), I ran the CreateVistaCDMaker file on the Toshiba site and I downloaded and burned to CD updated for the Toshiba RAID drivers.

However, whenever I get to the part of the installation were it asks me to select the drivers to install on... He told me that this is impossible because I need the appropriate drive. I point to the Toshiba Raid driver and after 5-10 minutes of waiting, Vista tells me that the drive is that I slowed down of Toshiba (Toshiba raid disk) is not compatible.

Anyone else having the same problems of Vista upgrade on their laptop Toshiba Qosmio G35-660?

    Hello

I assume that you have downloaded the driver RIAD on the Toshiba driver site us.
I checked this site and surprise. There is only a RAID for WinXP driver.
It seems that the RAID for XP driver does not work with the Vista installation.

You will find on the site of Toshiba Canada also a few disks of Vista and also a RAID for Vista driver. Of course, you won't find you laptop model G35 because it was designed specifically for the American market, but try using a driver for G30.

  • Qosmio F20 with Vista RTM

I managed to install Windows Vista RTM on my Qosmio F20-155 aircraft. The installation went smoothly and all is well.

I have the following problems, which I assume are common with everyone:
    -No SD card support
-Waiting for new drivers from nVidia card
-Fn keys and multimedia keys do not work

However, something that I'm not sure that everyone knows is this lack of sound support. Vista acknowledged that the sound card is "SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio". However, I hear any sound on my speakers. I tried to force another driver (the Tecra,) found on the support site, but Vista would fire a BSOD and die. I don't know that there is nothing wrong with my laptop because the Qosmio player can produce sound normally (from Windows to the outside).

Anyone with the same problem? And don't you think the RTM drivers are going to be late?

Yes, I think that all drivers Toshiba will be released in the coming weeks, months?
    We'll see...

I already saw that the freaking long thread, but I don't have time and nerves to go trough it and check witch driver is new.

    M.20

    Hello

First you must already know that Toshiba didn't release all the drivers Vista for the Qosmio G20 because Vista is not taken in charge on this Qosmio G series!

But don t you worry man!

    I found this thread helpful.

It s very long, but I think very interesting for you!

  • Qosmio F20 with Vista: display is not wake up from sleep/standby

I hope someone can stop pulling my hair out - please!
I have a Qosmio f20-136 that I upgraded to 2 GB of RAM. I managed to install Ultimate Visa on what actually works very well. I get a score of 3.4 Visa which means Aero works very well. The lowest score of void is actually the CPU (the 1.6 GHz Pentium M) with following 3D graphics to 3.9 with the Geforce Go 6600.

However, I have an annoying problem.
Hibernate works very well - he hibernates and returned very well. I have the power button set for the Hibernate now and also in the start menu power button.
If I close the lid it goes to sleep and when I opened the lid it picks up perfectly. There is the sound of a device connection / disconnection when I open and close the lid.

However, here's the problem. I would like to use the power button to sleep rather than hibernation and I don't want to wear and tear on the hinges of the screen by keep opening and closing the lid. So, I tried to set the power button to sleep and also tried selecting sleep in the start menu options. In both cases, the machine goes to sleep but then a problem when I try to resume.

The powers of the machine upward but the screen is black. Everything is alive, but I don't see anything.
If I unplug the power cable and plug again (which changes the brightness of the screen), then it comes to life. If I close and re - open the lid, it comes to life. Nothing else he raises.

Some would say that I'm picky because I'm almost there with vista, but I dearly would solve this issue. Can anyone help please.

Currently using the video driver 97.52. I installed the added G30 package (without the energy control) that works. FN buttons not working (although the multimedia keys - if anyone has a solution for that I wouldn't be thrilled!.) I tried support button for the G30 but does not work).

    Please help if you can.
    Concerning
    Jules

  • Qosmio F20 and Vista Ultimate

I would like to know if anyone knows when Toshiba will create all the necessary drivers for this model running windows Vista ultimate.
Can someone give an answer? Thank you.

    Hello

I can't answer you that, but I'm afraid that it won't happen. As you know Vista is already longer than one year on the market and if Toshiba didn't offer drivers up to now I n t believe this will happen in the future.

In any case, I'm sure you can find the drivers somewhere on the net. I mean the graphics or sound driver. You can also try to use the value added packages or other tools of some other models Qosmio Toshiba.

I don't have a Qosmio F20 and cannot test it but if you have a game for a little time with her.
I'm sure you can make it work well.
