Hello

Autour Googling, I found thisarticle.

So I ask what may be the solution to your problem. May be corrupt drive recovery? Can you see scratches or stains on it?

  • Satellite 2430-402: 437 Application error during recovery

Right, I've got a Toshiba Satellite 2430-402 (purchased new) for at least 3 years. I have formated several times before and re-loaded windows back on with no problems until now.

The problem only started two days ago, when I noticed my CD drive was not recognized. So I decided to format etc, came out the disk Recovery Utility that came only with the computer to install everything, and it will not go beyond 12%. I'm greeted by * Application error 437
    Can not read the file.

I left really stuck and cannot load anything. I fdisc / formatted /spinrite / kill the hard disk, just in case where there is something nasty on here and can still get nowhere. This is the first time I'm really stuck.

This could be the engraver of CD or would it be the hard drive or basically the computer is nakered. I inspected the recovery disk, and they are all clean!

Or is it because I made an update of the bios (you mind, it was weeks ago)

    Everyone please

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

to my knowledge, the Ghost image files are placed on the Toshiba Recovery CD.
That's why I studied on the ghosts manufacturing Web site.
It s Symantec and found this information site:

    HM http://Service1.Symantec.com/support/Ghost.nsf/0/14579a4173691f8988256abf005f4f8f?OpenDocument&SEG= & lg = fr & ct = us

According to this page this problem seems to be due to starting the computer incorrectly when you use Ghost with GoBack on the computer.
This problem may also occur when you use a brand or type of CD that works well with your CD - R or CD - RW device. In this case, Windows or DOS might be able to read the information on the CD that other applications cannot.

  • New installation of Windows XP Home edition on Qosmio F20 - sound card errors

    Hello

I am one of those who is very reckless on internet and download a lot of spam and viruses along the way. I keep, but I'm also obsessive compulsive on the backup of my important files, so when my computer flip out on me, I just wipe it clean and continue!

I stick to windows XP because some software I use still does not work on Vista, and I also install a completely new copy of XP instead of recovery as bundles of Toshiba with my laptop. Why? Because I lost it...

Anyway, I've been tracking the drivers to get the last bits of the material work and all seem to work well! The only problem I have is with the (Yes, you guessed it!) sound card driver!

I have a Qosmio F20 and have no idea of what sound card is actually inside this thing, I have always used SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio drivers and they do most of the work very well, but they seem to have problems when I try to use Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 and Soundbooth. Both programs complain that there is no sound card and then refuse to open,

As far as I know, the driver that I use is by 'Analog Devices' and v5.12.1.5240. I don't know if it's really any help at all!

Does anyone know which driver is correct to use and where to find it, or is the fault, I have just an inevitable?

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Pav

    Hello Pav

Have you installed Windows XP Home with Service Pack 2 included?

On the Toshiba download page, there is a driver available and I do not understand why you think that this is not the right one. The same driver will be installed if you use recovery CD/DVDs.

    Hello

    Please check the BIOS!

You can enter the BIOS by pressing ESC and F1.
The CD/DVD drive must be in the BIOS.

If it s not the case, then that would mean that the CD/DVD drive cannot be recognized by BIOS and possibly it s faulty.

    Hello

I checked the page of the Toshiba driver and there is no drivers Toshiba for W2k on the Qosmio F20. Where did you get the drivers of control?
You need a driver for Toshiba in particular to use the commands. But there is no driver for W2k. In this case, the controls cannot function properly.

OK, so I have a Toshiba Qosmio F20/574 and I am trying to replace the factory DVD player (TEAC DV-W28E) with a Liteon DS-8A1P (f/w CX12). With or without a DVD Im reader get a CD-ROM error at startup. The only time where what I don't get, is when I start with the factory DVD player.

Here are the things I've tried...
    -Cleared CMOS memory
-Remove the bezel to ensure his grip at bottom
-l' utility EEPROM set the drive to slave.
-tested the portable player in another
-uninstalled the factory dvd player via the Device Manager and tried to boot with the new dvd drive

Here are the things that I found bizarre...
-in the BIOS (BIOS 1.30 ACP) under IO device, it shows the hard drive and cd, but it is not listed by name, his watch only the IRQ of the primary and secondary IDE controller (integrated drive HARD IDE primary (1F0H/IRQ14), CD-ROM (170 H/IRQ15) secondary IDE). This does not change, even if I start without a DVD player.
-There is no update available for this laptop BIOS. It is a Toshiba of the Japan and the Ive tried using Qosmio F20 BIOS 1.40 to another region, but this does not work.
    -I can't find a firmware for the Liteon DS-8A1P (CX17) update

I can't think of anything to try. I really need help! Any ideas?

I'm afraid that you are using the optical disc drive not compatible and there is nothing you can do. Check it please s user guides document for your model of laptop and you will find a list of all compatible ratings.

  • Qosmio F20-136: I have no restore CD?

The Qosmio F20-136 laptop comes with a Windows CD I can't find one, don't know if its just on the recovery CD, but I think remember me there used to be a Microsoft Map with etc product key, I do not see to be able to find a.
    Thank you

    Hi Mike

AFAIK the recovery CD provided with the device. On this CD, you will find a ghost image that includes a Windows operating system, drivers, and other applications as a Note.
The product key for a Note that you will find on the cover of the recovery CD. In addition, you don't need to activate the Windows operating system because the imgages Toshiba are already activated.

But maybe you have to create this image of yourself. In this case using Toshiba, you will find a function to burn clean recovery Image

  • Qosmio F20 won't start - power light flashes orange

My Qosmio F20-149 crashed yesterday and I was not able to get it working again. When I try to turn it on, the power light flashes on and outside (on: 1 sec, off: 1 sec) and the cooler fan operates at full power. When I press a key, there is a genre or a sound error. otherwise no reaction of the laptop; even the CD player does not open.

I did no RAM-implementation to date, and I use the original power supply Toshiba. I tried from the laptop using only the battery, only power and on both. No change in the reaction. I tried all possible combinations (with a free one, both... etc) of my two cards, RAM (512 + 512) and still no use.

    I am really puzzled.

If I understand you just your laptop sends a blink code. Copy the following code appears so laptop has detected a problem with the electronic power supply.
In this case, there is nothing that you can do and the laptop must be sent to the service provider allowed the closest.

They have manuals containing instructions and the exact description of the code how do I solve this problem.
Sorry, buddy, but I do not think that anyone here can offer an accurate diagnosis for that matter.

  • Qosmio F20: Featured work Touchpad scroll doesn't work anymore

    Hello

I have a Qosmio F20 and only had it for less than a year, I've always used the touchpad and the quick launch feature, never changed anything in the settings of the touchpad, or major changes in the operating system, I have a problem now!

the scroll function working keys doesn't work anymore, you know how the right side is scrolling up and down and low to the left/right scrolling, now it doesn't work... my brother was using my computer and he has installed a bluetooth, infrared driver program, he used a mouse USB and install Nokia PC suite.
NOW what should I do? HEEELP!

    Thank you.

    Hello

Brother have installed you a large number of applications and also a USB mouse.
Who knows what it changed on your laptop.

If the pad touch scroll function does not work so I guess that the settings have been changed.
In your case, I recommend to check the touchpad settings.
You should find your mouse over settings in the control panel.

As far as I know, you can find these settings in the Toshiba touch and launch.

  • Main problems after upgrading from XP to Vista on Qosmio F20

I have recently upgraded from XP to Vista on my Qosmio F20 and having problems. It seems that I lost the ability to change screen resolutions, to adjust the volume, brightness, etc. Basically, I lost the laptop functions. I also tried updating the BIOS but get the following error message "BiOS update only is not supported OS - unsupported OS or service pack installed.»

This also makes very slow computer.

You now have a few questions, or you wrote just a report on your experience of Vista on Qosmio F20?

The fact is that Toshiba does not support Vista on this laptop model and thereby you will ever complete Vista of operation (including the Toshiba tools and utilities). For supported laptops, Toshiba offered special Vista supporting BIOS but for your laptop, this update of the BIOS does not exist.

    Sorry! :(

  • Qosmio F20-153 - ntoskrnl.exe file missing

    Hello

I have an almost 5 year old toshiba Qosmio F20-153, which has developed an error with the Windows message root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe file is missing.
I wonder if it's fixable without completely re - install the complete operating system that I still have the Toshiba restore disk.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Hey Buddy,

In my view, your only option is recovering the entire notebook. The Toshiba Recovery disk only contains an image of factory settings, which means that you can t install this single file of this disc.
In addition it s a good idea to reinstall Windows from time to time. If your installation is already 5 years old, you should do this. You will be surprised with the speed of your laptop is after that. :)

Use the recovery disk is quite simple: you must boot from that disk and follow the instructions on the screen. You do a few clicks only and that s it!

  • Camera connected DV Firewire/IEEE 1394 is not recognized - Qosmio F20

Hi - I wonder if anyone has any advice on the following points.

I have a Qosmio F20 running XP Media Center.
I have a JVC GR-DVM5 (old but good) camcorder with an i.Link/1394 port. Connecting a DV camera to the PCs 1394 port via a firewire cable 4 pin should recognized the camera as a device of additional hardware and install automatically.

However, the device is not recognized. Even try to be creating the device in applications such as Movie Maker, WinDVD creator, etc., does not work and the unit is not picked up by these.

All things were created according to the JVC user manual, the 1394 port works well (depending on Device Manager), and the driver is up-to-date.

According to Microsoft, the appropriate drivers are included in XP (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/300459/en-us - but still MS have failed to confirm to me that this applies to XP MCE as well as professional and Home editions.)

Can anyone provide any help! ??

    JB

It is the right word. I have connected my older Sony camcorder via firewire to Qosmio G20 and the camcorder is recognized correctly (Sony cam was listed in Device Manager). I was able to copy all saved on the HARD drive movies and create DVDs later.

Believe me it's very interesting that all devices Sony I have connected with Qosmio laptop computer were recognized correctly (two camcorders different and two digital cameras). I really don't understand what's wrong with your JVC cam.

I ve checked a digital video forum and a guy with the same problem reported that he was able to connect the cam when the cam is placed in the docking station. Can you please try the same thing?

Of course, the cam must be turned on.
