Qosmio F60/05-PXE-E61 Media failure, check the cable of
Hi, I have a new laptop Qosmio F60/05 which is now having problems starting.
I bought on 29/12/2010 and used again except for the internet.
On a couple of occasions, an error has popped up saying that the computer has detected movements of hard drive...
I don't remember the rest of the message, but it's usually after I took the laptop on the coffee table for sofa etc.
Only now do I think it's a problem because portable computers are designed for portability and should be able to deal with this kind of movement.
Perhaps this error and the following are connected?
This morning I turned on my laptop and it took a while to start. Then the error messages came up saying that she had to restart and to restart the "Media Failure-check cable PXE - E61" error message "PXE - M0F outgoing PXE ROM" "Insert system disk in drive."
I'm not tech savvy and don't know what to do now that no system disk provided with the laptop.
I have read other forums on other sites that say it is a hard drive problem. Is this true and can I consider warranty return?
I can't believe, I get questions on a laptop the week old and I'm pretty bored...
Help, please
Lauren
Hello
Message PXE means that laptop would not boot from other sources, but tried to boot from LAN. But LAN startup was not possible and that's why you have received this message.
In most cases the HARD drive was not found and so the laptop going at the start of LAN. In your case, I would recommend accessing the BIOS and check the status of the HARD drive.
But if you start windows in safe mode or in other modes, this means that the HARD drive is ok.

Hello Shoah
You did what I would recommend.
I remember what one of my friends has had a similar problem on an A200. But after the BIOS reset by default, he was able to install the OS from the recovery CD.The whole is very mysterious. It looks like a HARD disk failure, but the HARD drive is recognized in the BIOS. But have you checked the HARD disk in other laptop or computer?
You can try to connect the HARD disk via the external USB HDD controller and could check if it s ok and could format.I recommend also to remove the CD/DVD drive and the HARD drive, then set the BIOS to default settings immediately (don't forget to save changes). Then try to power upward without the HARD disc and the drive.
To my knowledge, you should get an error message.
Then stop the laptop and put both the device in Notepad. Then go to BIOS and check if both devices are properly recognized. Finally, I must say that I don't know if my proposal will help m.
If she won't help, you will need to contact an ASP in your country, because it really looks like a serious problem.Good luck

PXE E61 media test check the cable failure
Working on the edge of power Dell T420. This is a new server. I accidentally deleted the raid 0. When you try to clear the foreigners. Now try to rebuild the system using the built systems and update disk to configure the raid again. After you create the raid and reboot. It gives an error stating... PxeE 61 media test of filling.
Please help stuck um. This my first Dell server configuration.
The PXE message is not an error. If you look at the boot order in the BIOS, the system tries to boot from hard drive/operating system first. If it finds nothing bootable hard disk, it goes to the device in the boot order. Finally, you will reach the NIC as a boot option. NETWORK interface card uses a protocol called PXE to boot devices on the network. Obviously you have a PXE server on the network, so that the boot option also fails.
To start with SBUU, you must set the boot order to activate the CD/DVD in the boot sequence. You must also have created the SBUU DVD correctly.
SBUU what version do you use?
Did you download / created it, or you use the DVD provided with the system? -
Satellite A80 PSA80E - PXE - E61: Media failure test
Hello
I have a problem with a Satellite A80 PSA80E.
"I am trying to boot the pc with the recovery DVD (I have a lot of viruses), but it's impossible because I tried to start (in Bios) only with the cd/dvd, but when he tries to start says an error: PXE - E61: Media test failure", and it do nothing. This is courious because if I start with the HD windows xp Home, I can use this recovery DVD, one more perfectly.
Could someone me? Thank you very much
This message appears because the laptop would not boot from the DVD.
PXE - E61: Media test failure said that the laptop has attempted to boot from LAN, but the procedure was not successful. However, now you know why this error, but we need to know why you can not boot from the DVD
There are two possibilities; your CD/DVD drive is faulty and cannot boot from one of the disks inserted or the inserted DVD is defective (scratched or something like that)

> pxe - m0f; output

> can someone please explain what this meansHello
The PXE error in most cases because the laptop can not boot from a CD-DVD or HARD disk drive and going to the LAN.
There's maybe one losing a contact between the HARD drive and controller HARD drive.
Select this check box. Open the HARD drive Bay and check if the HARD drive is properly connected.
If the HARD drive would not be recognized even if the connection is OK, then I would say that your HARD drive is defective and must be replaced.

In most cases, this occurs if the hard disk drive is not recognized as device startup.
Please enter the BIOS at startup upwards and check if the HARD drive is recognized correctly. Please post comments.

It would be also my staff believes that something is wrong with the HARD drive itself, I mean if the computer attempts to boot the HARD internal access and Windows boot disk, but if the computer can't find the HARD internal disk, it tries to boot from LANAccording to me, please contact a service provider authorized in your country. Guys should check your HARD drive and replace it if necessary.
In addition to backup all your data if you didn t it yet. Therefore, you can use an external USB HDD. -

I had some problems with my A210 overheating a stop (even tried extra cooling), but since the last stop, I am now unable to boot, I get the following...

Intel UNDI, PXE - 2.1 (build 082)I assumed that the HARD drive is dead, although I don't want to get another, only to find it's something else like a bad cable... I removed the HARD drive and given the link suddenly.
If someone could advise me before I go and buy another HARD drive, I would be grateful.
... also, if I don't change the HARD drive, my Vista recovery disc would work with the new drive or do I need a new copy of Vista?
Thank you
Hello
Yes, it's a typical message when the laptop cannot boot from the HARD drive and switches to the local network.
I think that your HARD drive is not present may be dead
You can check the BIOS if the HARD disk is which are listed there. If the HARD drive is not recognized in the BIOS, then I would recommend this replacement.
As far as I know it takes 2.5 HDD SATAGreetings

Satellite L30-149-PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable of
Hello!
My Toshiba Satellite L30-149 with the PSL35E-002002NS model number is equipped with a MK4032GSX drive HARD 40 GB, Bios V 1.90 and HP Windows XP Home edition.
IT stops during startup with the text.
For Realtek RTL8139 (x) /8130/ 810 x PCI Fast Ethernet Controller V2.13 (020326), PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable PXE - M0F: exit ROM PXE, operating system not found.
This occurs even if the disc is removed and seq. boot is changed so it should search the CD/DVD and even though the power and the battery has been disconnected for 15 minutes. If the power were during 20 hours them lights upward by DVD for a short so that at the next startup, but not if the power was turned off for a few minutes.
Before he died, he showed the blue screen several times with diskerrors in the event log, and I was able to run/CHKDSK without errors a few times.
Please advice how to reset the Fast Ethernet controller, not sure that a HDD defective only can cause the fault of I m.
Thnx in advance
BenHello
I think that this is related to failure of HARD drive or lack of OS on the HARD drive.
Is this message PXE ONLY appears if the portable computer is trying to boot from LAN.Means either the LAN was chosen in the BIOS as first boot device or operating system is not found on the HARD drive and so the BIOS automatically goes to the local network.
So I recommend this audit in the worst case you will need to check if the new HARD drive would solve this

Portege Z830, PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
Hello
I have a problem on my Toshiba Portege Z830. After that I turn to the top of the computer, windows attempts even to start, instead, I saw the following message:
PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
PXE - M0F: Exit Intel Boot Agent.
Insert system disk in drive.
Press any key when ready...From what I understand, it seems that laptop is trying to boot from LAN, instead of SSD.
I did that in the BIOS boot order is reasonable. It is:
1 HDD / SSD
2. USB memory
3. USB WEIRD
4. DISKETTE DRIVE
5 LAN
I also tried to load the defaults in the BIOS, just in case.I also tried to re - install Windows 7 and Ubuntu installation, USB. In both cases, Installer was not able to discover any drive where system could have been installed.
That seemed to me like a problem of material with SSD. And it's actually the second time I'll have it with this laptop. I got it about 4 months ago and at that time I sent my laptop certified Toshiba service in Zuerich. They sent it back, saying that the material was OK and he must have had a software problem.
To my surprise, after that they sent back for some portable reason indeed started working, I have not yet lost all data (didn't need to reinstall the system, everything worked).
I was happy, but since now the same thing happen again, I don't know what I have to do.Whether any other SSD that hardware problem? If Yes, what else can I try?
If the only option is broken hardware, how can I make sure that this time he gets permanently fixed by Toshiba service?
Thank you
Alan> From what I understand, it seems that laptop is trying to boot from LAN, instead of SSD.
It's OK; the message appears if no other boot device could be found.
_Question: _
SSD or HDD disk appears on the first page of the BIOS (size of the SSD drive and the name should be visible)?
In case the SSD drive isn't in the list, there must be a problem with this device and I guess you have to replace it.> If the only option is broken hardware, how can I make sure that this time he gets permanently fixed by Toshiba service
You simply ask the maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country.
I guess guys will try to recover the laptop and where this is not possible, they would replace the faulty device. -
Satellite A30 - PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
Hello
I got a Satellite A30-064 as gift. The guy who gave it to me, said its broken. I checked the forum startup error message:
+ PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable PXE - M0F: exit PXE ROM +
I can boot in the BIOS, change the HARD drive. The two old or new are properly recognized in the BIOS. Boot order is correct (not LAN).
I have to give it to the recycling station? I don't not want to was wrong, it seems to me the error which is left is on the motherboard. Would this be a machine "Oops, I spilled my coffee on the keyboard?
Has anyone managed to get rid of a similar problem?
Usually this error message appears because the laptop tries to start from LAN because she doesn t recognize other bootable devices like ODD or HARD disk.
Usually if the HARD drive would be recognized then this message PXE - E61 appears.
What happens if you insert a bootable CD and press the C key immediately after starting the laptop?
The C button should allow booting from ODD.Please check this!

Satellite C660D - media failure PXE - E61: media test failure, check cable of
Hello
hope I can help with this problem.
I have a Toshiba Satellite C660D, which I bought in 2011 and he has recently started to act, whenever I try to pass on it tells me
Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller series V2.38 (24/12/10)
PXE - E61: media test failure, check cable.
PXE - MOF: Exit PXE ROM
Operating system not foundThis problem started when I tried to install the new operating system (Win 7 32 bit) on my hard drive of the windows partition, this instillation was a success, and I even managed to create a user profile after installation.
However, as soon as I logged on to the computer says me he wants to get back out to check my windows and it did it automatically and since then he never restart and tells me that this media test failure error.
I checked my hard drive if that work by connecting it as external on another computer and its still fine with everything that always there, I deleted and reintroduced it a couple of times, but always the media test failure still occur, I even tried to change the sequence of start several times, including the default settings , but the problem still persists.
I have two laptops of the same type and both of them give me the same problems, I am running out of ideas on how to fix this problem any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you
Hello
This message means that the system was not found on the HARD drive and the next boot device was LAN. But unit was not able to boot from LAN and so this PXE error appeared. You said that the HARD drive is OK. Well, what is the status of the HARD drive in the BIOS?
HDD is recognized correctly in the BIOS on the first page of the BIOS?Where it is, you should try to reinstall the system once more.
In the case of the disk HARD isn't visible in the BIOS, you must replace it. -
Re: Satellite Pro A210 - strange start up error - PXE - E61 Media Test failure check
Here's a weird scenario.
HARD drive has failed. Fortunately, do regular backups, then restored on a new HARD drive.
New HARD drive is securely fixed to the A210. Power on, HDD recognised by the BIOS and proceeds to start, get the following error:
For the Fast Ethernet Realtek RTL8100E-8101E network adapter Version 1.02
PXE - E61 Media Test failure check cable
PXE - MOF from the PXE ROMA210 will BE boot from USB or DVD.
Tried various things, internet research, found a lot of mistakes same or similar, air conditioned and have a no good result.
I have a Paragon boot, booted disk in it. One of the options is to find some operating systems on hard disks. Try to find BONES. If you want to start in it, accept and Win 7 loads!
So, why the A210 will not load the OS? It recognizes the HARD drive, and another medium may start in the operating system.
Looking forward to your answers!
Hello
Have you tried to reinstall the OS on this HARD drive rather than install the backup?
There may be something wrong with the backup you justGenerally, this error because the BIOS cannot boot from the HARD drive and passes to the LAN.
If the HARD drive is recognized in the BIOS then it must be something wrong with the operating system on the HARD drive.
Recommend the fresh OS install and check it once more..,.

Hi Nash
The PXE error occurs because the laptop tries to start first from the local network.
You must enter the BIOS and change the order on HARD disk or a CD. I recommend that you set the LAN option at the end of the boot order. The recovery CD you can buy form the Toshiba service partner in your country.
The number on the sticker is only an OEM key. You can not use it with a Windows operating system several.
