Qosmio F60 - 11j: how to enable spdif output

I bought F60-11j FOR DIGITAL SPDIF OUTPUT.
But it is impossible to activate it.
The manual says when the audio cable is connected I should be able to select line output or digital output, but they do not display.
Is there really a spdif on this computer?

Hello

Please check if the device is selected.
Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> Sound
Here, make a click right and select enable hidden devices & enable disabled devices

If SPDIF is visible, then chose this as a default value.

    This does not seem right...

Of my knowledge if the CPU support Intel VT, then this would be enabled by default.
But your CPU Intel® Core2 Duo Processor P7450 does not support Intel VT - x and this is mentioned on the page of Intel:

    Hello

New laptops are available without disk recovery, but with the option of HARD drive recovery. How to install the OS by using HARD drive recovery option, you can find on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

After completion of the own BONES, please create recovery discs using the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator. These disks can be used if the HARD drive recovery option does not work for some reason any.

  • Qosmio F60 - how to default wifi off?

I have a Qosmio F60 and wonder how to get the default wireless off? I use cable internet and rarely have use for the wireless. I would prefer to keep it off, I don't have a reason to use it, simply for security reasons. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello

    > I would have preferred to keep it off, I don't have a reason to use it.
Why you put the t switch the WLan using FN + F8 key combination.
In case you do not want to use the WLan, switch it on using Fn + F8 again

In my eyes, it is the easiest way to turn it.

    Hi jibberz

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers Forum!

Unfortunately, several audio output is not a supported feature in Windows 7.  You may, however, check with the manufacturer of material for possible programs for that purpose.

To work around the problem, try the steps listed in the link below and check: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprogeneral/thread/b1d1acac-1f21-4d23-8d68-98964d67c2c7

  • Qosmio F60 - how to burn a DVD?

    Hi all
I recently purchased a Qosmio F60 as my first laptop and I am trying to burn a DVD. What is the normal burning time?

I am a total newbie to DVD burning (this is my first attempt) and I'm trying to burn a movie that I recorded on my desktop which is 53 minutes in length. I inserted the blank DVD in the drive and click "burn" and so far, it took 1 hour and 30 minutes, and it's only 27% full. Does this sound right?

All the basic information, tips, advice, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Remember, I am a total newbie and need basic instructions!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Buddy,

The combustion speed is depending on the DVD player, burning speed and the data you burn. But 1 hour 30 minutes is too long, even you burn a DVD with 4, 7 GB of capacity with low burning speed.

What program you use for burning discs? I recommend Nero or CDBurnerXP freeware tool.
Also try different media, not all are compatible with all the drivers. I have good experiences with DVD-R from Verbatim and TDK discs.

  • Qosmio F60 integrated switch GPA

I think that core i5 has a built-in GPU, but in the Qosmio F60, there is no function to change the GPU.

Does anyone know how it can be change or is it has a special button that I can pass the GPU?

    Hi mate

I put t know what you mean exactly?
    What you want to spend?

Qosmio F60 supports an external GPU (graphics chip) and it can be enabled or disabled
The graphics driver controls everything and affects the graphics memory automatically to the graphics chip

  • Can Qosmio F60 - I use a wireless remote control?

    Hi all

Is the remote wireless IR F60 support & if so how I enable it & will be all universal remote control work?
I am using my laptop as a media center & would like to swap between functions without my intervention.

    Thanks lantana aka couch potato

    Hello

Some of the notebooks Qosmio F60 are equipped with a remote control.
Take a look at the front of the laptop.

You will see the communication WLan (LED indicator
Close the light WLAN, you should see a window of irda receiver.
The irda is necessary to receive signals from the remote control.

If your F60 does not support this irda you can not use remote in this laptop.

PS: you can not use any remote. You must use another compatible which can be bought at Toshiba ASP.

It is still problematic to discuss problems that sometimes occur.
Have you noticed this behavior on all the games you want to play or simply by more recent games?

While gaming, you use your laptop with power plan to high performance?

By the way: shipping info DX is OK but I m 100% sure that no one here will read this.

    Hi guys.

I have a TOSHIBA Qosmio F60 PQF65A-016002 and found no indication of how to enter the Bios.
I put to level my 8 GB memory and it is not working properly when I insert the new memory, so I need to see the settings. Installation of HW does not show me what I need to know.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As I remember the Qosmio F60 supports BIOS Toshiba.
It's a little different and to access the BIOS press F1 or ESC after power on.

  • Need serial key of Windows 7 for the Qosmio F60 - 10J

    Hello

    Unmountable Boot Volume Windows 7

I need to reinstall my Qosmio F60-10J. Reference: PQF65E-007026FR
but my serial number windows 7
    disappeared.

I have the Toshiba serial number, how do I find information for windows 7?

    Thanks for your help.

Hi, I'm also in the same boat.

Try to do a HARD drive recovery, but my post got renegade to the subforum "valorisation" (where no one responds to the month) even though I submitted it specifically on win7 forum.

That's what I've learned so far...

Option a. You have the recovery disk media or a partition:
You're lucky and you won't need the product key anyway (it won't be asked during the installation it is 'embedded' kind of talk in image of toshiba).

Option b. You deleted the partition or replaced the drive and does not follow the manual where Toshiba claims that should have backed up the recovery partition that you probably didn't know that you had in the first place:
B1. Congratulations, you've reached 80% of the users of this forum which will remain unanswered!
Here's my sanity check even if the product key was visible on your sticker it would still "invalid" since win7 iso doesn't work for 'standalone' keys then the key to your Toshiba is "pre-installed", i.e. If you do not use the installation of official manufacturers, the I am afraid to say, the key that you have already paid is well... useless!
B2. But don't worry not toshiba has covered you! for an affordable price of 60 euros, they can send you the installation that you have already paid for.
... Wait there's more. Unless you don't have you can use the language option when you try to buy your recovery media. Perhaps, it is still ok if you are ready to learn to finish!

    Good luck ignoring!

P.S. for stealth Toshiba employees here: never underestimate the damage that an angry customer can bring to your brand!

  • Qosmio F60 - overheating and FPS fall games

    Hello

My Qosmio F60 gets very warm, while gaming and idling, for example, while the cores of game and GPU work around until 75-85Celsius, I don't know how they are idle, but my pumps STILL hot air fan, comparing to all portable computers friends, they don't pump hot heat games unless.

Also while gaming, I get drops FPS while playing, even though I used to run a game on high 60 fps, without drops, now it's on low-head up to about 6 times.

    Help, please.
    Thank you, Harrison

    Hello

Sorry but here a few questions to better understand:
Are you using the original Toshiba preinstalled the operating system or your own version?
Toshiba display driver you are using.

While gaming laptop is placed on the desk?
    All vents are free?
    Do you use new games?

Plan to use everything at stake?
Do you use the maximum level on the graphics settings in the game?

Have you tried playing with the power and graphics settings to see if the result will be a little better?
