Qosmio F60 - overheating and FPS fall games

Hello

My Qosmio F60 gets very warm, while gaming and idling, for example, while the cores of game and GPU work around until 75-85Celsius, I don't know how they are idle, but my pumps STILL hot air fan, comparing to all portable computers friends, they don't pump hot heat games unless.

Also while gaming, I get drops FPS while playing, even though I used to run a game on high 60 fps, without drops, now it's on low-head up to about 6 times.

Help, please.
Thank you, Harrison

Hello

Sorry but here a few questions to better understand:
Are you using the original Toshiba preinstalled the operating system or your own version?
Toshiba display driver you are using.

While gaming laptop is placed on the desk?
All vents are free?
Do you use new games?

Plan to use everything at stake?
Do you use the maximum level on the graphics settings in the game?

Have you tried playing with the power and graphics settings to see if the result will be a little better?

Hey guys, just a quick question here...
Ive got a Qosmio F60 laptop and it seems to get very very hot, after 30 minutes of use (games or web browsing), there the base around 95-100 degrees Celsius temperature, and the laptop slows down to almost a crawl. Any suggestions on helping this?

    Hello

Did ever clean you the cooling fans in the past?

Especially dust lead to high internal temperature as the cooling module is unable to run with better performance.
Also affecting the circulation air recommends using a jet of compressed air and blow air through the vents

  • Qosmio F60 - HDD and BIOS issues

I have a Qosmio F60. 1 months since purchase, and I'm having problems. I organize my questions for a better look.

    (1) if there is a new BIOS update, should I put to update mine? Mine is currently on 2.10, and the last is 2.50! And I know the change log, because I can't find it anywhere. : S

    (2) if I'm in the MBR, where there are two options (Windows 7, Ubuntu Linux) and I press the ESC key. The screen goes black, and the laptop fan is running at full speed noisy. The same thing happens if I reboot/hibernate Ubuntu. Also, this sometimes happen to the instance that I push the power button to turn on the PC, but this is rare.

    (3) my HARD drive creates serious noise. I think that all hard drives have, but I have to check if it is safe, and what could be the cause. The sound is little consecutive cracks when the HARD drive is reading.

    (4) the BIOS I found (2.50) is for the model no: PQF65-E, while mine is PQF65-L. I ran the .exe, and he identified my current BIOS without any compatibility issues. Although I don't actually flashed the BIOS, because I want to question 1) answered first.

Well, if you have problems, then an update of the BIOS can be useful.
Here you will find an instruction how to do this:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=60

(> 2) if I'm in the MBR, where there are two options (Windows 7, Ubuntu Linux) and I press the ESC key. The screen goes black, and the laptop fan is running at full speed noisy. Sorry mate, but as I know Linux is not supported by Toshiba. So I can't say about concerns generally Linux could react a little bit different as a windows OS and of course the cooling modules could run differently also.

(> 3) my HARD drive creates serious noise. I think that all hard drives have, but I have to check if it is safe, and what could be the cause.
The sound is little consecutive cracks when the HARD drive is reading.

In your case I would always back up data on another HARD drive or a disk to be always on the safe side.
I mean the HARD drive can still die and it s better to have backups of backup.

I just checked what you asked...

At the back of the laptop, he wrote as ENTRY 19.5V, 3.33 A

On the charger, it is written as OUTPUT 19.5V, 2.31 A. And that's a smart adapter 45W.

There's your problem... 3.33 a is larger then A 2.31. You can have more big amp but no more little amperage... your adapter is not able to provide sufficient power.

    Hey,.

Of course you can test it with your own installation of Windows, but I doubt it s a problem with the operating system preinstalled Toshiba. I mean this image is tested and configured for your laptop

In your case, I would also check the version of the firmware of your SSD. There may be an update for it.

Also, make sure that the version of the BIOS of your laptop is newer.

  • Qosmio F60 - Reboot over and over again

Hi, I put a Qosmio F60 today and it works.

The computer went straight to the screen configuration and then restarted. He made over and over again for hours now. I tried to use the recovery partition to enter into the computer, but as soon as we proceed after recovery he opens windows 7, then the configuration screen and restarts the computer.
It is brand new and I didn't turn it on.

Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem,

    Thank you

    Darren

    Hello

From my own experience, I can say that after the first launch of the laptop restarts often enough (10 times or more I think) and you still get the same screen. If you get this screen, wait a little more Setup will be complete. This is not a bug!

Maybe it s too late for that now, you can try a HARD drive recovery, but after that he'll also leave quite often so you should drink coffee and read the newspaper Meanwhile ;)

  • I need to install TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator on Qosmio F60 - 11F

    Hello.

I have a Qosmio F60 - 11F and I install windows 7 ultimate 64-bit, I have installed all the drivers from the Toshiba site.
I need to install the TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator & TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator utilities; I search in the Toshiba site, but nothing is there.
Can someone help me to download these utilities?

Why do you need these tools?
If you have installed your own version of the OS, these tools are useless, and for this reason, they are not available for download and installation.
These tools, you can have if you install Toshiba recovery image only.

  • Qosmio F60 - remove graphic border around the photo webcam frame

I recently purchased a Qosmio F60 laptop and when initially put in place / test the webcam to use on Skype, I chose rather stupidly a graphical border for all about the image frame of the webcam with a lot of yellow stars.

This ends up blocking much of the image of the webcam on Skype, which is very annoying, but I can't seem to find a way to get rid of it. I'm sure it's a very simple option somewhere in the webcam settings to stop, but any help would be appreciated before he drives me crazy!

    Thank you

Start the web camera application and you will find option effect. Open it and go to the second tab called Frame.
Then click OFF and I guess that the problem will be solved.

    Hello

I have laptop Qosmio F60 - 10v and when I want to update my BIOS to the version of the bios-20100909155041.

I get the error in red below. I run the update with the admin rights and I use the compatible update that is downloaded directly from the official website of toshiba.

Package for the TOSHIBA BIOS ver.4.0.7

    Error: Preparation of updated failed.
Some errors occurred. (Error code = 15)

Can anyone has an idea about the problem? How can I update the BIOS, is there an alternative?

Maybe stupid question now but why you want to update the BIOS?
You know, a lot of people are doing this just to have the version latest although nothing will change and cell phone will work as before.

I put t know why this happen. It is matter of Toshiba software engineers.

By the way: you closed all applications before you start the update of the BIOS?

  • Qosmio F60 - 11F - drivers for Windows 7 32 bit

    Hello.

I have a Qosmio F60 - 11F and I install windows 7 ultimate 32 bit, and I am facing a problem with all the drivers.
I am looking for in the section of the driver support in the Toshiba site, but I found only bluetooth, also I need for Windows 7 32-bit power management.

    thanx

    Hey,.

AFAIK Qosmio F60 is pre-installed with Windows 7 64 bit...
This means that you have installed the 32-bit version of Windows 7 but why? Normally the 64 bit OS is the future and supports only 4 GB or more of RAM. 32-bit is pretty obsolete for such a new notebook performance

I think that's the reason why you can t get all the official drivers Toshiba page because it of designed for the 64 bit OS only

If you really want 32 bit you must search for the drivers yourself on external Web sites.

    Hello

    > have a Qosmio F60-123 and it seems that I can't change the resolution to 1366 × 768 above,.
    > I updated my card reader to the latest version, but the problem is still there.

According to the specifications of the product:

    http://Gulf.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/en/product/Qosmio-F60-123/1085698/toshibaShop/false/

    * Video modes internal * internal video modes are supported:
    resolution: 1366 x 768
    * Maximum external video modes * max resolution: 2 048 x 1 536
    Maximum refresh rate: 100 Hz
    resolution No interlaced with a maximum refresh rate: 1920 x 1 200

So, if you see you can not change the resolution to 1366 × 768 for internal display above

  • Handling of battery Qosmio F60

I just purchased a qosmio f60-033 and I was wondering what the battery life is like on the 6 cell battery with the disabled lecteur_disque (non - eco & eco mode)

    also out of curiosity
the life of the battery will die faster if I use the laptop with the battery when you are connected to the power adapter? or the battery will stop loading when it is fully charged

    Thanks :)

    Hello

You don't need to remove the battery so that the AC adapter is plugged.
The plugged AC adapter will not affect the batteries in the new age.

    > I just purchased a qosmio f60-033 and I was wondering what the battery life is like on the 6 cell battery with the disabled lecteur_disque (non - eco & eco mode)
Battery working time depends on the use of the laptop. There are many other factors that could affect the battery working time; for example the software that is currently running, display backlight level, background processes and rates of use CPU/GPU etc.

I know once for you; It is a multimedia laptop and you should not expect that you could work more than 1.5 h-2 hours with the battery.
