Qosmio F60 - starting problems

After trying to start my computer, it gives me 2 options. Start windows normally, difficulty of windows (or whatever it says).

If I choose start windows normally, it displays the icon of windows load, 5 minutes later, a blue screen appears to crash my computer, then restarting.

If I select windows fix, it shows just the icon, goes to a white screen where I can move the cursor, but don't select anything.

If I try to boot from the CD drive, it says press any key, what I do, then shows loading files of windows, that ends, he goes to the windows loading icon, then a white screen with the cursor that I can move. Nothing seems to work for me, I would appreciate it if someone could help me with this problem. Thank you!

Sounds to me like a HARD drive malfunction.
What do you think of this?

I recommend that you check the HARD drive using a freeware tool
I read here in the forum about software Drive Fitness Test its freeware and Muriel you to scan the HARD drive.

I think you should do.

    Hello

The HARD drive may begin to malfunction because it s a part not reusable.
I'm not very well why the HARD drive starts to malfunction in these times early in any case the party m can be replaced very easily and usually you don t we had to send the laptop to the ASP.

Get in touch with an ASP and ask compatible HARD drive. If it s covered by the warranty, you should get so much for free, otherwise you will need to purchase these parts.

However, here you can check how to replace the HDD:

  • Qosmio F60 - start time

    Hi all

I've owned my F60 for about 4 months.
My first lappy, so far I'm happy with it.

I only have one gripe, and it's commissioning at least 3-4 minutes of time.
Am sure that this is the amount of the programms (bloat ware) which are loaded at the beginning.
Any suggestions or direct contact with Toshiba to know what stop to load would be great.

    See you soon

    Hello

    Hmm. I think that you can solve this problem very easily;

    (1) I recommend you begin with cleaning of the operating system. Use a tool called CCleaner.
It s freeware and you can clean the registry.

    (2) as more option, I recommend turning off some background process.
You can disable it's msconfig (in run type msconfig). You will find the Startup tab.
Here, you can deselect some unnecessary applications that should not be started at the beginning.

I think that should help make the QuickStart.

  • Qosmio F60 and Seagate Momentus XT problem

    Hello!

I need help to solve a problem.
I tried to change the hard drive of my Qosmio F60 for a Seagate momentus XT (hybrid SSD). I have even if it was simple

First of all, my new HARD drive was not recognized in the BIOS. So I put a rider to force the SATA 1 mode on the hard drive.
Now, it appaears on the configuration of the bios.

With the recovery media creator, I created a USB boot drive.
So I plug in the USB, I turn on the computer, launch of media recovery, he creates the partition, copy files, everything is ok, but when it restarts, it wrote to insert a system disk...

Why am I wrong, is there a problem using this HARD drive?
I said that is usb, the same hard drive works perfectly.
Is there something to do with the Bios?
I don't have the update, but my version is since September 2010, I think.

Thank you very much for your answers.

    Hello

Not sure if the SATA option is available in the Qosmio F60 BIOS but some BIOS on Toshiba laptops supports this option. In this case, you could switch between the AHCI and compatibility mode.
But the Toshiba recovery image already contains the SATA drivers, so the system should work with AHCI mode or compatible, too.

    > but when it restarts, it wrote to insert a system disk...
Are you sure that the laptop start on internal SSD where the operating system has been installed?
To me it looks a little more the laptop would not boot from that disk SSD.
Disconnect the USB, by default, the BIOS flash drive and try to boot again

  • Qosmio F60 - cannot start Win7 on 16 GB of RAM

    Hello

I have recently brought a second hand Qosmio F60 and installed 2 modules KVR1333d3s9 / 8g, after updating the BIOS, the Bios report 16GB.

I can start and run Linux which also reported 16 Gig as soon as I boot Windows, the screen turns off and stops after the "Starting Windows" screen. The same thing happens when I try a Windows 7 installation disc.

Can someone tell me how to fix this?

As much I know Qosmio F60 only is not supported for 16 GB of RAM. According to certain specifications max supported RAM is 8GB so I put t know if there is a magic trick to make it work.

Let's see if some F60 owner has tried the same thing.

  • Qosmio F60-100 - after that upgrade RAM screen goes black

    Hello world
    I upgrade my RAM a g-skill 2 * 4 GB 1066 Mhz DDR3
    I have a Qosmio F60-100
    I am on Windows 7 pro N
I checked whether they have updated bios (the toshiba soft explain to me, that there is not an update available)
I checked if the RAM were compatible with my laptop (these have been suggested to me)

When I put the new RAM in the laptop, in "Starting Windows", the screen goes black and the fan works hard.
So I'm not able to install my new RAM.

These ram are compatible with my laptop?
    What is the problem?

Thanks so much for all those who can help you.

PS: English is not my mother tongue, sorry about that...

    Hello

According to your Qosmio notebook specifications can be improved up to 8 GB. The comparable memory modules are:
    2 GB DDR3-1066-PA3676U-1M2G
    4 GB DDR3-1066-PA3677U-1M4G

I don't know that references your RAM modules but the behavior described is probably as a result of the use of non compatible modules.

  • Qosmio F60/05-PXE-E61 Media failure, check the cable of

Hi, I have a new laptop Qosmio F60/05 which is now having problems starting.
I bought on 29/12/2010 and used again except for the internet.
On a couple of occasions, an error has popped up saying that the computer has detected movements of hard drive...

I don't remember the rest of the message, but it's usually after I took the laptop on the coffee table for sofa etc.
Only now do I think it's a problem because portable computers are designed for portability and should be able to deal with this kind of movement.

Perhaps this error and the following are connected?
This morning I turned on my laptop and it took a while to start. Then the error messages came up saying that she had to restart and to restart the "Media Failure-check cable PXE - E61" error message "PXE - M0F outgoing PXE ROM" "Insert system disk in drive."

I'm not tech savvy and don't know what to do now that no system disk provided with the laptop.

I have read other forums on other sites that say it is a hard drive problem. Is this true and can I consider warranty return?
I can't believe, I get questions on a laptop the week old and I'm pretty bored...

    Help, please

    Lauren

    Hello

Message PXE means that laptop would not boot from other sources, but tried to boot from LAN. But LAN startup was not possible and that's why you have received this message.

In most cases the HARD drive was not found and so the laptop going at the start of LAN. In your case, I would recommend accessing the BIOS and check the status of the HARD drive.

But if you start windows in safe mode or in other modes, this means that the HARD drive is ok.

  • Qosmio F60 - remove graphic border around the photo webcam frame

I recently purchased a Qosmio F60 laptop and when initially put in place / test the webcam to use on Skype, I chose rather stupidly a graphical border for all about the image frame of the webcam with a lot of yellow stars.

This ends up blocking much of the image of the webcam on Skype, which is very annoying, but I can't seem to find a way to get rid of it. I'm sure it's a very simple option somewhere in the webcam settings to stop, but any help would be appreciated before he drives me crazy!

    Thank you

Start the web camera application and you will find option effect. Open it and go to the second tab called Frame.
Then click OFF and I guess that the problem will be solved.

  • Qosmio F60 BIOS update (error code 15)

    Hello

I have laptop Qosmio F60 - 10v and when I want to update my BIOS to the version of the bios-20100909155041.

I get the error in red below. I run the update with the admin rights and I use the compatible update that is downloaded directly from the official website of toshiba.

Package for the TOSHIBA BIOS ver.4.0.7

    Error: Preparation of updated failed.
Some errors occurred. (Error code = 15)

Can anyone has an idea about the problem? How can I update the BIOS, is there an alternative?

Maybe stupid question now but why you want to update the BIOS?
You know, a lot of people are doing this just to have the version latest although nothing will change and cell phone will work as before.

I put t know why this happen. It is matter of Toshiba software engineers.

By the way: you closed all applications before you start the update of the BIOS?

  • Qosmio F60 - boot advanced options existing after the new installation of the OS

    Hello

I wonder about the option of advanced boot when pressing F8 after that restart the computer will no longer exist if I changed the operating system that was initially provided with my laptop Qosmio F60 "win7" to win 8.1 example

Advanced Start menu which was part of the in Windows 7 system isn't available in Windows 8/8.1 System.
Microsoft has changed the architecture of the Windows system in 8 Win/8.1 news and this menu has been replaced.

Usually if the Windows 8 or 8.1 Windows would not initialize correctly, the system tries to fix the problem automatically. If the system will not be able to fix the problem automatically, the troubleshooting menu appear.

If you want to manually access menu, you must do this within the system:
You must open the charm bar (win key + C) then settings-> settings change PC-> update and Recovery-> Recovery-> advanced boot-> restart now
