Qosmio G10-133 no sound

Hi just new to naked forum with me. Recently bought my g10 and made the system restore by following the instructions on updated documents:
1 cd-rom product recovery
2 qosmioplayer recovery cd-rom
qosmioplayer 3 update cd-rom
Qosmio 4 cd-rom update.

Laptop has Intel 915 PM Express chipset and graphics controller nVidia Geforce Go 6600.
No noise at all from the laptop regardless of the task. Display quality is excellent.

Have tried all of the controls, I think: have tested the plug of headphones with no sound regardless of the volume control.
SoundMax no indication no driver is found when Ive tried to install it and stops on me.
MediaPlayer-problem with the audio device

Have used the registry check software nothing works.
BIOS system is v2.00 26/01/2006, because I think it should be.
Run a system tool that said disconnected devices: Soundmax Integrated digital audio-pci bus 0, device 31, function 5
Browse shows nVidia Geforce FX 5700
not sure if this has anything to do with the problem.

As much as I know my go 6600 drivers are up-to-date.
Any ideas or information would be greatly apreciated.
At soon Stuart.

PS runing system is Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002 service pack 2 (completing all windows updates)

Stand by. If I understand you right on your Qosmio motherboard has been replaced and you update tool CD. Am I wrong?

If so, I guess that you know very well how to use given the update tool CD. It is very important to use it on the right track. I'll try to explain how it should be done:

1. as a first step, you must use the supplied restore CD
2. at the end of the recovery procedure, you will see message
Please, remove the recovery media and press [CTRL] + [ALT] + [delete] to restart

to this place do not press this key combination, but remove the optical-drive recovery disk and insert the update tool CD into your computer and press [CTRL] + [ALT] + [delete] to restart
3. when the screen goes black, press and hold the F12 key. When the Qosmio logo appears, release the F12 key.
4 Select the CD/DVD-ROM drive (CD icon) and press ENTER
5. after 5 minutes, the copy process is complete. The message that the media update of software, please do not remove it. Hit any key to stop displays
Press any key to stop.
6. turn on power to your laptop.
7. installation of screen Windows appear, please follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
8. this process can take about 5 minutes and the computer will reboot to complete.

If you install OS on this path, I assume that all hardware should work properly.
Can you please confirm that you have install OS as described?

  • Qosmio G10-133: where to find NVIDIA GeForce FX Go6600 Vista drivers

I have a Qosmio G10-133 with the motherboard upgrade which I believe has the Nvidia GeForce FX graphics chip Go6600, not the old motherboard which had the chip 5900.
I'm trying to find a recommended driver for this chip when using Vista as an operating system.
I know that Toshiba is no longer supported this discontued model and certainly do not have the drivers on their website.

Anyone got any ideas where I can get a suitable driver, or even if there is a.
Site Web de NVIDIA simply States that the computer manufacturers portable invidiual adapt drivers for their chips and do not provide a driver.

    Any ideas?

My understanding of the Toshiba doesn't support Vista drivers for the Qosmio G10 The Vista seems to be supported since the Qosmio G30 series

I read several threads on the compatible graphics driver for Vista OS and Web site _ www.laptopvideo2go.com _ provides some nVidia drivers.

But note; These drivers are not tested and so you can install and use at your own risk

  • Qosmio G10-133 - Install Qosmio Player and using the recovery disk

    Hi again.

My g10-133 was the mother of uypgraded installed by Toshiba that there are back and forward in his first year with problems of graphics chip, so they installed the motherboard with the 6200 chip chart.

Until very recently, I installed Windows XP to one of my dead computers that I've ever had anywhere with my original recovery qosmio disc such that it has been damaged. I recently bought an other G10 as I wanted to replace the keyboard and display and it came with disks,

I put in a raw player. I used the recovery of the Qosmio player disc, and this indicates that it is complete. I then installed the Toshiba Recovery disk that has Windows MCE on it. (I have now three original copies of the present). But when windows go to start, the computer gets past the Bios and then quickly goes to the blue screen of death... I tried to use break so that I can read this, but it does not work. I tried more than a windows disk, but not joy. I also had special instructions for Toshiba, which has the Qosmio updater on him, and also another drive which has some additional drivers.

So far, I've tried all sorts and whenever I go to start the laptop, it crashes. The Toshiba recovery disc has two methods that an automatic and a step forward on (which I don't have a clue how to use). The automatic, which does not implement the normal windows installation, but evokes a Toshiba says... and it goes from 0% to 100% and ends each time.

If I use my Windows XP disk from another pc it install fine. and the laptop is fine until it reaches download Windows SP3, which seems to slow everything down.

I would like to install the Qosmio to style factory if pos.

What you need to help your service provider which has replaced the motherboard. A long time ago I heard talking of this and what I know is that the machine must be ready for use: This means service must update the BIOS, verify compatibility of memory, RAID functions are not the same, Bios, EC/KBC and DMI must be updated and rewritten. The laptop owner must be willing to work with new hardware components.

If I m remembering well this new mainboard has different chipset and recovery image that you are trying to install has really bad drivers inside. With other words: after the Exchange system motherboard drivers and the Qosmio Player require an update.

You know the whole process is a bit complicated, but, as far as I know, Toshiba service provider must send you instructions for Qosmioplayer update and instructions for the update tool.

At the moment I can't help you. Please call again and ask for help. If you will not get any help it let us know.

  • Qosmio G10 graphics and sound driver installation

    Hello

Recently, I tried to reinstall my Toshiba Qosmio G10 after you download all the latest drivers from the Toshiba site.

Unfortunately I had my motherboard and the screen replaced in the last 3 years (under warranty), which means everything has changed since the original laptop, I bought (now a map graphic, NVIDIA GeForce go 6600, new chip set, etc., as far as I can remember).

Someone at - it a system restore cd or a place I can download the appropriate drivers for this laptop.

I am a sys admin and technical and spent about 5 hours, pulling on my hair, trying to get the drivers video and sound work.

    Hello!

Looking on the Web from Toshiba site?

Reason being, I have the original tray and I need to buy an identical car to try to recover data

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

You n don't need to buy an original Toshiba HDD each different manufacturing HDD will work if it will be compatible with the standard of substantive law.
I guess that the G10 is capable of managing the 100 GB maybe 120 GB hard drives.
The laptop supports an EIDE interface and therefore, you should use HDD s supporting the IDE (ATA-5) increased.
Each laptop dealer sells HARD disks

  • Need spare part keyboard no.. for Qosmio G10-133

    Hello

I recently had a few splashes on my keyboard and now the @ key does not work. Can anyone tell me the part no that fits. I examined the keyboard and found these numbers undereneath

    X 57 T0102351 * & G83C0003X210X

I tried to find these parts by searching and I get a few similar to G83c, but they do not exactly correspond to the and the image looks different to the left and to the right of the space bar.

EBay came up with a similar number also.

Can someone advise me a reliable place to buy one and the approximate price

If I m remember well Qosmio G10 has a standard keyboard and this is used on many different models of Toshiba laptops, so it shouldn't be a problem to find a.

  • XP update demolishes my Qosmio G10-133 screen resolution

I'm running a two years old G10-133. Great and reliable machine. The reason why I bought it was because he has big screen resolution/sharpness for MS Word and Outlook emails texts.
For various reasons that I do not download the MS Windows updates that are often available in a pop-up at the start (hint that they may bring more problems than they solve). In any case I have recently (despite running Norton Security all the time) picked up some kind of malware villain in Google which diverts approximately 50% of the links google after a search and then sends to an another search engine with links.

The Norton firewall and windows not picking up these or clean them up, so I tried the free Spybot to get rid of them to no effect.

Finally rang Toshiba Europe support and the guy he recommended that:

    (1) do not use Norton. Waste of time and money and slows down the machine. Download the new freeware Windows Defender instead.
    (2) do all the XP updates
So I started with all the windows updates (charges), including Internet Explorer 7.

Guess what, after restart the computer is a bit slow grumpy, but worse still, the screen resolution (sharpness and clarity of the text) has deteriorated in Word, Outlook and Explorer.

So I called Toshiba support again (I'm on a contract of three years warranty) and they could not solve the problem or propose something and seemed surprised that happened. We checked the things of common screen resolution in control without result panels.

Then I gave up, train of the restoration of the system before any updates.

The computer is now stable and the resolution of screen back to where it was.

    Issues related to the:
    (1) can I get XP and 7 EXP updates and still get my old (better) screen resolution.
    (2) what to give up idea good/safe Norton for Windows Defender?
    (3) any ideas on how to prevent the diversion of Google links?

    Any help much appreciated

    Hello

1.) it's very strange and I have never heard bad display quality after the installation of the updates from Microsoft!
I think you should try to contact the Microsoft support and maybe they know something about this strange behavior.
But have you tried to update the graphic driver and/or BIOS?

(2.) it is true. I installed the Norton System Works several months ago and my unit started very slowly with preinstalled Norton Antivirus.
I removed and use and freeware AntiVirus application called "Antivir".
I don't want to use the MS Windows Defender. But I'm not saying that this application is bad.

    (3) I don't know what you want to do, but I don't think it has anything to do with your Toshiba laptop ;)

  • Car power inverter to power a Qosmio G10 - 133

Is there any adapter compatible with the G10 car & if so could you provide details - I've read the thread relating to the car adapter F10 but it couldn't find the car adapter there are referenced.
    I read in http://www.laptopbits.co.uk/Database_files/Mains_Invertors.htm
that power inverters are preferred & intend to buy a Powerpack of Halfords 200 that can power up to 300 watt like laptops. Is it better to a car adapter & what happens if a danger to my laptop is associated with the use of this way to feed the G10 133

    Hello

Well, in my opinion, you should use the recommended Toshiba part. The other party which is not designed for this device can damage the laptop.

  • Qosmio G10-133 & Vista can't recognize my memory stick

    Hello

I installed VISTA on this laptop, and I had a few problems that you can imagine!

I can't recognize my memory stick. I can't find the drivers and that Windows is unable to solve the problem.

    Someone got clues?

I'm also having a problem if I turned the laptop off. The only way I can get the power on button to work is to remove the power cable and the battery and then I turn on the laptop. If I don't take the power cable and the battery I get the green light on the power button, or no light at all, and by pressing seems to do nothing. I also have an orange light blinking on power light on the front of the laptop. I guess it's something to do with the thought of the computer it has hibernated or something?

    What to say to boyfriend.
The Vista is not officially supported on the Qosmio G10 and the Vista drivers don t series there for this series.
Always is it that you need a card reader driver to use the memory sticks. But as I said above, these drivers are not available and don t exist.

What you can do is to check the drivers for G30 but I'm very skeptical that it will work on the G10.

    Good bye

  • Qosmio G10 - 133 drivers for other devices

    Hi friends.

Yes I know that it is an old laptop. I recently had to reinstall the software due to the failure of the hard drive. I always have problems. Toshiba has installed a new motherboard with the Nvidia Geforce Go 6600 video chipset upgrade years ago. Since then I always had problems of resettlement using the original disks. I was never able to reinstall the Qosmio Player and end up always with the laptop reboot after installation of the software, and goes to the blue screen of death. I have now abandoned the qosmio player with the installation discs (Windows MCE) and just install Windows XP. However, here's the problem:

In Device Manager, I get some errors:

Other peripheral States MULTIMEDIA VIDEO CONTROLLER does not... what the land is that and where can I find the driver?
DEVICE UNKNOWN as does not work... what hell is this possible and what drivers?

    Hello

Take a look at the HOWTO:

    * How to identify an unknown device (e.g. LAN wireless module)? *

  • Qosmio G10-133: the blue lines on screen

To all those who can help you:

I turned on my Qosmio yesterday to find a series of unwanted blue lines, distorting the Qosmio logo. Lines and distortion continued until the operating system came at the opening of my office. At this point the whole system locked and the screen went completely blank.

The Qosmio player suffers from the same problem. The boot system, but crashes when the display is asked to do something.

I can open the operating system in safe mode, but the lines still appear to a lesser extent on the screen.

I have run all the tests and has been through the manual troubleshooting section. I tried to reinstall the drives and roll back to the previous facility. But, for all that I try, nothing will change.

Qosmio my friend did exactly the same thing a month or two it is a. Solution from Toshiba was to replace the motherboard.

My Qosmio is still under warranty, and I am very happy to send it because Toshiba has one of the best customer service I've had to face.

But, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

I also very pleased with the customer support service Toshiba m.
I think that the simplest and the best way to resolve this weird display problem is to bring the unit to the ASP. Laptop you is guaranteed to be protected and a replacement is free.
