  Hi guys, anyone of you have qosmio g10 owners experience quite ordinary sound of your speakers (harman/kardon), especially when you turn up the volume? Music CDs, mp3s, or even movies, speakers do not seem to manage fine bass at all? I called toshiba and they will take a glance at my machine...   I'm also owner of Qosmio G10. I must tell you that I am very satisfied with solid and very powerful harman/kardon speakers. The only thing I can recommend is to check that all the sound settings. Please check that all the parameters to Toshiba virtual sound tool especially restore settings by default so the basic settings is the position WE.

  I noticed that all the options have a strong influence on the sound quality and it is possible to set the quality sound for each type of music.

  My configuration is:
  Size of the speaker 200 Hz
  TruBass level 75%
  UPDATE level 76%

  Do not forget that each player has an own equalizer and there you can also try to find out which setting is one that fits your needs.

  I am still trying but install and use WinDVD creator I can choose to capture of S-video, Composite video or TV tuner. Maybe it's just that we all waited. You can change the quality settings as well. I looked on the site of Toshiba international and can't find it. In any case I hope this works for you all.   I'm getting following error message when you try to use the TV feature:
  "the files needed to display video are not installed or they don't parpadean not correctly: restart the PC.

  Thus, some software are missing: which driver or SW? I couldn't find a good answer by browsing the full FAQ.

  Toshiba product model names have 4 components (Qosmio) family name, the series of products (G-series), the model (G10) and exact model number (G10 -103).

  This number is by country, because almost all the countries of europe have different demands of material, then Toshiba shipps different models in different countries!

  As far as I know that the Qosmio G series are shipped throughout europe in Dec.

  Note: Be careful with a computer purchase foreign toshiba laptop, the software package ad OS is also country and language specific! To get the right version of the operating system is pretty hard!

  I have two 17-inch monitors computers laptop Toshiba as desktop replacement: 1 x Satellite P20 552 & 1 x Qosmio G10.
  Both are dead graphics card problem.
  The conclusion of my research on the WEB, it's the nVidia FX Go5700 card seems to be the weak point of these laptops.

  On the Satellite Map dies slowly: during startup Toshiba logo disappeared but WinXP logo was very good load, then WinXP loaded with the screen not refreshing and the problem of synchronization, etc..

  I have red Satellite P20 304 and it still works well. Maybe you can offer this story to someone else, but I can say that Satellite P20 is great for laptop. I like it. Old, but still has an attractive design.

• Qosmio G10-137: blue screen after re-install using Recovery CD

  just got my qosmio G10-137 earlier this week after being under repair since the beginning of the month of January! Guys made the repair found no better then install the Dutch version of the operating system. I don't like this, then I took out my recovery CD and began the recovery. Everything works fine and I am asked to remove the media and reboot my PC.

  This beautiful laptop to start early and... Blue screen of death. Restarts, wonder how to restart... count up to normal reboot... BSOD... restarts, wonder how... I choose "Safe Mode"... BSOD... I choose the mode safe mode with prompt... the system.ini file is missing!

  It seems that the recovery CD is bogus.

  If someone has encountered this? Does anyone have any resolution?

  It s very strange because the recovery CD was tested and install several times. It should work without any problems.
  I put t know where you come from, but the service partner should install the Windows operating system in the same language. In this case, if you bought the device in Dutch the recovery CD and the OS are in the Dutch language.
  Please note that you must use the same recovery CD that came with the device. Another recovery CD will not work.
  What you can do is to test the unit with an original CD of Microsoft Windows. It would be very interesting to know if the blue screen appears with the original Windows.

• Qosmio G10: Entry Composite and WinDVD creator

  I have a Qosmio G10 and WinDVD creator 2, such that comes with the machine. I am trying to copy some old VHS tapes on my HDD using WinDVD creator and the composite entry next to the socket (connected on VHS by the SCART and supplied adapter)

  WinDVDc is not see anything at all to record from, and even less the composite input (which works fine when I press the "input select" button right next to the adjustment of brightness on the machine screw). I cannot therefore see or record through my TV signal analog, which is near the top and works very well in MC. I can record using MC but trust the dvr - ms format it uses is not editable and is much too inflated.

  I also tried to use nerovision for the same purpose, but I get an error message saying "capture device is already in use...". ».

  Sorry if it's a question of intervideo, but Tosh forums seem more useful.

  Hey Jake

  Watch download drivers (the valid section for your model and OS) for a registry patch. Take a look also at the info for it. I think this should solve your problem. This means that you will get the Composite as a data source in WinDVD Creator valid entry.
