• Qosmio G20-102 TV TUNER: how to get this to work - what cables are required?

  Hey everybody,

  I just installed vista on my laptop QOSMIO G20-102 (PQG20), I have media library now.
  My laptop came not like MEDIA CENTER EDITION, it came under the home edition of Windows XP (laptop purchased in July 2005).
  I got 3 cables which I have no idea how to use...
  laptop was purchased in Dubai/Emirates and I live in Malta

  Now for my question (s):
  1 which of these cables do I need? Im just trying to figure out how to get my satellite tv or digital cable to work on my laptop.
  2 antenna adapter (see picture) is not for coaxial cable, what can I do?

  I don't have IR control cable, I do not have a remote sensor (but I have some sort of built in the remote sensor on the front of my laptop.

  I'm looking for advice as for example buy this, get rid of it, install this etc...

  The best way to set up your TV's with Media Center 2005 edition.
  Cables:
  Check the back of your cable TV installation box and find the composite or SVHS output. If you have only the composite, you can use the composite cable of the posted image. If your TV decoder has the SVHS, so you should use, to the better image than composite. You must obtain a SVHS cable for this.
  Look for the audio output rca, too. Mix with the composite cable for the audio Qosmio.

  But you must have:
  1 control cable IR, for media center 2005 configuration as well as your TV decoder. It is cable connected to the remote sensor (see fact sheet on the back).

  2 sensor for your remote control and configure it with the remote control of your TV decoder. In this way, you can control the receiver cable channels, using the remote control for your Qosmio G20 media center edition.
  Recovery: you can change the channels on your TV decoder using the qosmio remote control.

  3. remote control for you media Center 2005, one that came with your Qosmio g20.

  Open the TV on Media Center 2005 configuration and follow all the steps required for installation.
  You must follow the guide, as is explained in the image you posted:

  If you have all these cables, you can use the Qosmio player to watch TV. It is not tied to windows OS.
  Here, simply connect the coaxial cable and let the Qosmio player search for available channels in your area. Qosmio player has the opportunity to set the colour TV system in any part of the world. all NTSC regions in all PAL regions.
  If you have the remote control for your Qosmio, TV keys will work directly with the Qosmio remote sensor on board, without needing the external sensor of Microsoft.

  Please see Toshiba site for new display drivers.
  By hand, you should always use the Toshiba drivers because they are designed for this unit. nVidia drivers are created for desktop PC and not for laptops.

  It seems that the Qosmio G20 102 belongs to the series of PQG20E.
  Research on the European driver Toshiba page I found the RAID for Windows XP MCE driver v1.03.0008 (can also be used with XP Pro).

  You will need an external USB FDD to include this driver in the operating system.
  But note; After installing the RAID driver you shouldn't t format the HARD disk or create a new partition, because that will remove the RAID driver from the HARD disk and installing the OS fails!

  I have a laptop Qosmio E10-102 here. The hard drive is missing and I need to install the operating system on a new hard drive but I can't boot from CD/DVD. After the start of Qosmio screen, it shows "insert system disk in drive. Press any key when ready... ».

  When I press F1, I get the 1.5 version of BIOS ACPI boot menu, but I can't change date, time and the password. The boot priority is HDD-> FDD-> CD and I can't change it. The manual says to hold F12 during initialization, but this has no effect. Even by pressing the 'c' key, the disc does not start.

  I tried to put the hard drive in a laptop and install there, but detects the Windows installation disc, that's not Toshiba laptop.

  No idea how to fix?

  The CD/DVD drive is correctly listed in the BIOS? You see the model number of your player? Usually, this should be possible

  And what installation disc, you are starting? You use Microsoft disc or Toshiba Recovery disk?
  Maybe the current disc is scratched

  A few months back, I bought this laptop Qosmio G20. It s cool. I live in Asia where media center edition is not launched with this series. I have a Windows XP home edition with this laptop.   AFAIK only devices with tuner TV have installed MCE and you can get the MCE OS recovery CD if you bought it with the Toshiba unit. If your laptop comes with Windows XP Home you can only get this form of recovery CD service partner. However, you can use the original cd of Microsoft Windows MCE. Then you can try to download all of the necessary drivers from the Toshiba site.

  I had accidentally deleted the Qosmio drive partition in my hard drive and now I am unable to install windows on my drive.
  When I try to install windows it shows a blue screen with a memory address and etc.

  You are not able to order the recovery for this G20 disc because this laptop model seems to be too old for this service...
  Maybe you would be able to order the recovery of the ASP disk in your country...

  I don't know if the ASP technician would be able to help you but it s definitely a value m to try!

  PS: the Qosmio Player can be downloaded from the European pilot of Toshiba page but you will not be able to download the recovery image... The drive containing the recovery disk must be purchased...

  -Do not turn on DVD + r / + RW/RAM DRIVE by updating the F / w.

• Qosmio G20-120: not able to watch DVDs

  Watch DVD movies cannot be because of the following strange problem.

  When I use WMP I get message wrong Copyright (with all the DVD movies), for all other programs (WinDVD, AnyDVD) it is black screen and some sound problems.

  I tried to re - install WMP and WinDVD, but there is no result.
