Please help since my son crashed my pc and I restored it with the cd that came with the machine im problems with the screen saver works slowly and some programs that run slowly as vision of nero which was fine before. I tried all the usual stuff like the lowering of graphics acceleration but no joy please don't help
Send me an email to [email protected]
my machine is a qosmio g20 - 156 pqg21e
Hello
It is hard to believe that the Qosmio G20 may have some problems with the saving screen graphics and slower running.
In any case try check the energy saving settings and the use of the processor to maximum power. Check also running a process in the Task Manager and stop all unnecessary processes running. Don't forget that antivir application doesn t do any disk HARD analysis in the background.

Qosmio G20 156: clean install?
Hello
I am new to the arena for laptop and am the proud owner of the Qosmio G20 156 fantastic.
I was wondering what people recommend doing the first thing when you receive... in what respect the sofware & operating system; Is it a good idea to perform a clean installation of Windows and the format of the HARD drive? I'm asking this is because some laptops come with a lot of junkware? If so, it's a very simple process using the recovery discs or I just would open the Pandora's box of possible complications?
I'm quite proficient with installing the drivers etc.
Any advice much appreciated!
Hello
Well, it s beautiful that you're proficient with installing the driver, but is not everything you need to know.
This device uses a RAID technology and you will need to also install the RAID drivers, etc.
I don t recommend to format anything or install the new OS. Toshiba programs and applications are installed on the new Qosmio because it s a laptop top of range with many features. The latest features need these applications. But of course it s your device and you decided what and how is running on your laptop.
I have this case you can use the image of Toshiba and you can remove some programs from the laptop computer in Add and remove programsIt is a simpler way.

Integrated digital televisions Qosmio G20 156
My husband has a Qosmio G20 156.
Can someone tell me if there is available on this model digital TV reception. I hope to get a USB DVB - T for father's day, but looking at the specifications, it indicates that it has integrated digital capabilities.
I am sure however if his machine didn't and then we would have already plugged!
Can someone clarify for me, as I would like it to be a surprise.Hello
According to the website of specification Qosmio unit was delivered with Tuner TV FREEVIEW + analogue hybrid and DVB - T antenna.
I don t know where do you live, but the fact is that you cannot receive digital signals everywhere. The signal must be strong enough to receive digital channels. -
Impossible to uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection after system restore
Hello
a program has been uninstalled (Symantec Endpoint Protection)
After have rebooted and still have problems to install a newer version, I decided to do a system
Restore prematurely, I uninstalled the original version.
(Since I couldn't find the installation files or my license info)The old version worked again. Now I am able to start the
new version, the old version will not uninstall. It just sits there in a small box with a bar saying Windows of progression
in the configuration of Symantec Endpoint Protection and it remains as it
for as long as I left, at least 25 minutes.I thought that the system restore would put things back exactly as they
have been, but it's apparently not the case.OT: Impossible to uninstall after system restore
Any ideas on that?
The OS is Windows 7 Pro 64 bit 64-bit.
I found this, but have not yet tried.
http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall/en-usI was able to cirumvent the problem by a selective startup in Msconfig.
I disabled all startup items, all services not MS, restarted and then uninstalled
successfully. However, I met another strange problem.
After uninstalling old version, I rebooted (the system was still selective
startp) I put a new restore point and installed the new version successfully.
Later, realizing msconfig has been arrived at "selective", I went and
has tried to return to Normal startup. However, when you select normal
and hit 'apply', it immediately jumps to selective. I have never seen it before.
I didn't know how to solve.
Instead, I uninstalled the new version of the AV program, jumped to the restore point
I did before I installed, rebooted, open Msconfig and have been correctly set up
In normal mode. Then reinstalled the AV.
Everything is OK now.
You ever heard of this problem of msconfig before?

Cannot run some programs after system restore to remove the virus
Hello
Toshiba my duaghter had a nasty virus that pretends to be an antivirus software product, which sneaked in, between the time his default service Norton has expired and I had the time to install Trend.
Can not remove it using trend, so on the advice of a friend, decided to make a windows system restore to a point before the infection. It worked successfully and the virus has disappeared, but now she can't run some programs, I tried to reinstall Trend, but fails because he says you must first uninstall Norton. But I can't run Norton, or uninstall, and certain folders on C: are no longer accessible.
I have to do a full restore of the Toshiba System (IE back tofactory settings? This seems a drastic measure, but the issue is beyond my meager knowledge of PC.
Thank you
Graeme
Hey Buddy,
Hmm... This announcement is a bit confusing... Maybe the programs you want to say were installed after the system restore point, who knows?
In my opinion you must reset the laptop configuration that you have already written. This will restore the pre-installed Windows version where everything is working correctly and that all the drivers and tools are installed.
Therefore, you only need the Toshiba Recovery disk and boot from it. This will restore the factory settings.

The created performance problems running in XP system restore
I ran the XP system restore after installing new software for my dsl modem. Now many programs do not run, my computer is continually updated and some updates fail and my computer is slower than ever. My Zune is not yet recognized. What can I do?
Hello
· Why do you run system restore after the installation of the DSL modem?
· What is the number and the model of the computer?
· What is the service pack installed?
· You receive an error message or error code when you use programs?
It will restrict the issue by following the steps below:
1. check if the error codes and error message appears in Event Viewer: how to view and manage the event logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427
2. search for the installation error code that your computer has saved when the installation failed. To do this, follow these steps:
a. Click Start, click all programs and then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.
b. on the Windows Update Web site or on the Microsoft Update Web site, click on view update history. A window opens that displays the updates that have been installed or that have failed to install on the computer.
(c) in the status column of this window, find the failed to install update and then click on the red X.
(d) a new window opens that displays the installation error code.
3. you can follow the procedure of the link below to improve the performance of the question: how to make a computer faster: 6 ways to speed up your PC: http://www.microsoft.com/atwork/maintenance/speed.aspx

Satellite A500-1CO - loss of data after system restore
Hi all, because the system was slow I decided to restore the system using the DVD of restoration system (1,2). The problem is that I have not saved anything from drive D, and after the restore, all files have been deleted. My logic was unaware that the restoration apply to drive C (system disk) and let the D drive as it is, but I was so wrong.
Is there a way to recover all or part of the lost data?
Please help me. Thank you.
Hi mate
Unfortunately, I think that there is not much to do now.
Recovery DVD redefines the laptop to factory settings and, therefore, this disc format the whole HARD disk and also all the partitions and, therefore, you will lose all data if you n t backup this before starting this procedure. You should read the user manual or information before starting the recovery. :(

Recently I did a system restore, after that my computer has crashed and everything seems to be OK except for the lack of noise coming from my speakers. This isn't an uncommon problem because I found a bunch of stuff on Google, but nothing I tried worked for me and I'm frustrated. I tried to uninstall the device from Device Manager, but even if I have it and restart the computer, he manages to resettle in any case, and yet I still have no sound. Everything seems OK despite these problems. I tried to download the latest drivers and their installation without success. Update the drivers does not work either. So, I wonder if someone can help, and if you manage to get through this, I'll save a song as a tribute for you 30 seconds. Yes I know. I'm quite desperate.

Windos XP and Internet Explorer runs slow after turning to...
I really hope that someone can help me that the Forums have proved useful to me in the past. This is my last issue.
One of my parents, for reasons that I won't, get updated his cable, phone and internet in one of these beams that offers local, rather than paying for phone company each separately. She has an office of older model PC that runs Windows XP and worked it, Office 2003 (if the memories are good) and Internet Explorer (I mean IE8) very well and quickly.
After its upgrade of the high-speed line was complete one of the first things I did was to go to Microsoft to download a bunch of updates as it had been on dial until it was impossible to download everything that she needed (she had not kept with it but also rarely used the computer to get on the net so it was not that big a deal). All XP downloaded approximately 77 updates and after a while successfully installed all of them. He then restarted and soon after started incredibly slow operation.
Because it runs more slowly now that when she was on the dial upwards, she is ready to get rid of its highspeed which I said. I think that one or more of 77 more updates, I installed may have done something. Also his internet browser now looks like my laptop (Acer with Vista and IE 9) so I think that maybe his version of XP and IE do not play nice with them. Finally something told me she had a Trojan horse, and some adware that I used Lavasoft to get rid of and their last free version is installed with moy.
Any help would be appreciated to untangle what is causing his PC suddenly run slow. I'm tempted to use a restore point and go back, but I'm not sure how to go (and really, I've never used a prior restore point). I'm half tempted to simply restore the entire hard drive but would have a copy of XP (I don't have a copy of Windows 98 that I some how came in possession of CD).
Help, please!

After System Restore Windows XP behaves strangely, said wininet.dll must be installed
original title: XP startup problemMy computer was slow, so I did system restore at an early date. The system worked better, so I system restored recently. Now the computer will just go up to my screensaver. Does not start. I can access taskmaster; but I am unable to run anything or to find beginning. I have been informed that wininet.dll must be installed. How can I restart or restore this computer. I have windows XP.
Hi ThomasCline,
Try to boot your pc in safe mode to see if it works properly. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222
If everything works properly in safe mode, you need to configure your pc in clean boot mode. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353
If all above fails, try running the SFC, you are able to open the Task Manager, click application-> new task & Type-> sfc / scannow-> ok
You will also need your cd of windows xp for this repair.
I hope this helps...

Disk space HARD disappeared after system restore
A day ago, I decided to free up space on the C: drive of my computer. By the time my drive was 10.4 GB of space. I deleted some old games and files, releasing much of the space and defragged my system gives me a total of 29.5 GB of space.
Shortly after, I was forced to do a restore of the system on my computer to correct an error. To recheck my space on the drive, he came to 10.4 GB. Deleted programs have not returned and after a thorough check of the system. I tried several other forums as to find an explanation for the missing space, but most of the answers in the forums does not solve the problem at all.
What happened to the 19GB of space freed after deleting these files and old games?
Hello
Since you did a system restore, fragments of programs that have been installed on the system earlier were able to return. I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below.
Step 1:
Run Disk Cleanup on the system. See the article mentioned below.
Description of the tool in Windows XP disk cleanup
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310312
Step 2:
I suggest you to do a Disk Defragmenter. See the article mentioned below.
