Qosmio G20: Pointer mouse gel in Media Center

I have a new G20, and everything seems to work fine, except... When running MS Media Center, once at a time the mouse pointer will freeze. (I use the touchpad). I can't Alt - F4 to kill Media Center, and the mouse is still frozen. If I close the lid and open it, the mouse is more frozen when it wakes from sleep. Don't know if this is a problem with the driver for the touchpad/or with Media Center, or?

Any tips or hints greatly appreciated!

Hello

Well, it s very strange, but I found information that maybe the update new graphic driver will solve the problem.
Please ask the driver of NVIDIA GeForce Go6600 (V78.82) display.
You can download it from the driver download site.

  • The mouse disappears in Media Center

I am new to Windows 7 and Media Center.  When I open Media Center my cursor disappears.  When I move the mouse things are highlighted when I seem to pass over them, but it is difficult to find things when the mouse is invisible.  I use a Logitech trackball which is connected via USB.  This mouse works well in the rest of Windows7.
    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    I fixed it!
I got rid of Win7 RC and installed Win7 Ultimate.  I also installed a new video card.  I'm not sure we fixed the mouse disappears.

  • Windows Media Center captures the pointer of the mouse on the 2nd monitor when WMC window is enlarged.

My mouse pointer is captured on the 2nd monitor when the windows media center window is maximized on this screen. I can return the mouse to the main screen when the window of the wmc is reduced.

    Hi ijeff:

One option is to move the Media Center window on the second monitor, and then expand the window to fill as much of the screen as possible by dragging an edge to the outside.  You can fill most of the screen that also and always use the mouse on each monitor.  The other option is to try pressing ALT + TAB to release the mouse in the Media Center window.  I think that worked in MCE2005, but currently I don't have a dual monitor set up to see if it still works.  Good luck!

  • Qosmio E15: How to upgrade Media Center 2002 SP1 to SP2?

    Hello

My Qosmio E15-AV101 was shupped with Media Center 2002 SP1. I did the automatic update from Microsoft and also downloaded the SP2 package. Still, the upgrade process fails. When I'm tired, I contacted MS technical assistance for the reason my Media center rejecting the upgrade. Microsoft replyed than the version supplied with Toshiba and other equipment manufacturers are customized to match the hardware manufacturer full compatibility.
    Quote:
    "
Notes of this part of the OEM and Microsoft agreement is to allow Original Equipment Manufacturer support for the products they have installed on a particular computer. The agreement was presented only the OEM often change and pre-install Microsoft software on their computers to ensure compatibility and to take full advantage of your computer s hardware. This means that the OEM has expertise on your Microsoft software on your computer in particular works.
    "

So, is the solution to my problem. How to upgrade?

    Hello

First of all it is a user to user forum and you won't find anyone from Toshiba.
Secondly, as far as I know that your device was designed for an American market and if you are looking for drivers or updates you must use a Web from Toshiba site we:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_home.jsp

If you have any problems with your unit, so you must contact the ASP (authorized service partner Toshiba) in your country.

As far as I know that Windows Vista is not official on the market. Maybe the end of the year or next year.
I can t believe that you are not available to install the updates. I checked a few comments and Microsoft updates have always worked.

As I suggested at the beginning if you have some problems with your unit has so contact the service of Toshiba.

I rang the guys TI and they give me just a website, but they don't tell me which driver.

I downloaded the Qosimo drive driver, but I don't know how to use it.

Please help me some1... as soon as possible...

    Hello Franz,.

As a first step, install the Toshiba commom modules, from here:
    http://www.rabayjr.com/Vista/drivers/commonmodulesxp.rar

then install toshiba controls, from here:
    http://www.rabayjr.com/Vista/drivers/controlsxp.rar

After that, you will probably work of toshiba buttons.

For the Qosmio player, you must burn it the image that you download from the website of toshiba on a CD.
After that, put this CD in your Qosmio, press F12, select Boot CD key and install it.
But remember, THIS IS IMPORTANT: If you install the Qosmio Player, this will reformat your hard drive and lose all partitions of HD and data, as well.
Normally you install Qosmio player before installing Windows XP, media Center, Vista. etc...

    Take care

  • Qosmio G20-102 TV TUNER: how to get this to work - what cables are required?

    Hey everybody,

I just installed vista on my laptop QOSMIO G20-102 (PQG20), I have media library now.
My laptop came not like MEDIA CENTER EDITION, it came under the home edition of Windows XP (laptop purchased in July 2005).
I got 3 cables which I have no idea how to use...
laptop was purchased in Dubai/Emirates and I live in Malta

    These are the cables >

    Now for my question (s):
1 which of these cables do I need? Im just trying to figure out how to get my satellite tv or digital cable to work on my laptop.
2 antenna adapter (see picture) is not for coaxial cable, what can I do?
3 I did WINDVR more due to the upgrade of vista, Media Center Gets the job done but I don't know what to do... This guide has confused me even more > http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/mediacenter/using/setup/settop.mspx
I don't have IR control cable, I do not have a remote sensor (but I have some sort of built in the remote sensor on the front of my laptop.

I'm looking for advice as for example buy this, get rid of it, install this etc...
Please, anything that can help is appreciated!
If you need information more just ask, I am here ;)

    Yours sincerely
    Ishmael

    Hi ismael,.
I'll try to help with that, but it's a long way to the road...
I don't know what Tv system is used to Malta (Pal)?

The best way to set up your TV's with Media Center 2005 edition.
    Cables:
Check the back of your cable TV installation box and find the composite or SVHS output. If you have only the composite, you can use the composite cable of the posted image. If your TV decoder has the SVHS, so you should use, to the better image than composite. You must obtain a SVHS cable for this.
Look for the audio output rca, too. Mix with the composite cable for the audio Qosmio.

    But you must have:
1 control cable IR, for media center 2005 configuration as well as your TV decoder. It is cable connected to the remote sensor (see fact sheet on the back).

2 sensor for your remote control and configure it with the remote control of your TV decoder. In this way, you can control the receiver cable channels, using the remote control for your Qosmio G20 media center edition.
Recovery: you can change the channels on your TV decoder using the qosmio remote control.

    3. remote control for you media Center 2005, one that came with your Qosmio g20.

Open the TV on Media Center 2005 configuration and follow all the steps required for installation.
You must follow the guide, as is explained in the image you posted:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/windowsxp/mediacenter/using/Setup/SetTop.mspx

If you have all these cables, you can use the Qosmio player to watch TV. It is not tied to windows OS.
Here, simply connect the coaxial cable and let the Qosmio player search for available channels in your area. Qosmio player has the opportunity to set the colour TV system in any part of the world. all NTSC regions in all PAL regions.
If you have the remote control for your Qosmio, TV keys will work directly with the Qosmio remote sensor on board, without needing the external sensor of Microsoft.

    I hope this helps you

  • No cursor in Windows Media Center

Whenever I am in the Media Center the cursor disappears.  This is a laptop, but the built-in mouse or an external mouse works.  Do you think I should remove and reinstall the program? Is this possible? I'd get the new Windows program? My computer is out of warranty so no go there.

    Hello Estebanio,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

If you use Media Center in full screen, your mouse cursor should be hidden. If it does not appear when you move the mouse again, you may need to update your video drivers to see if they have updated drivers for your video card.

You can also try and press the Windows keyboard button, it should give you back focus to move the mouse.

  • Qosmio G20: Additional programs are placed on the recovery CD?

    Hello

I am relatively new to all this if my question is perhaps a bit noobish. But I would like to reinstall windows xp mce on my Qosmio G20. And I know that's what I use the product recovery disc for. But a few things written about it has started to get worried, so if you could answer the following questions I would be very grateful.

    (1) on the product recovery disc it is said that the additional software (ex: DVD player...) cannot be recovered from the dvd. But all these were preinstalled on my computer and I don't have a cd/dvd extra. So the question is: is this a denial of responsibility (unfairly put) and this Qosmio G20 recovery disc has all programs pre-installed so?

    (2) when I start the recovery process he formats just my drive C: or D: drive as well. I have not changed anything since I was the computer. So drive C: is where programs are, D: drive is just for some multimedia stuff.

Thank you very much. : D

    Hello

AFAIK Qosmio G20 comes with two recovery media:
    1 QOSMIO recovery media player
This CD contains QOSMIO player only and use it before you install the operating system.
    2 OS Recovery DVD
This DVD contains the operating system and all the necessary drivers, tools and utilities.
When you use the laptop will have to new factory settings. As after the first start.

When you use recovery DVD to install OS again, there is an option to install the operating system already persistent partition. I put t know if the recovery on your Qosmio DVDs old ghost image or new software Reco.

Please try to boot from recovery media and let me know how it starts. I can help you to install the OS on the right track.

  • My Media Center has stopped working on Xbox; now that they find each other

I've lived almost every link and FAQ and troubleshooting, thing that I can find and nothing has worked.

I use my Xbox 360 as an extender for Windows Media Center for more than a year or so now.  I changed nothing and suddenly it no longer works.  I tried playing with the firewall, even turn it off at some point and usually still Media Center to connect to the Xbox.  I get as far as enter the 8-digit code in the Media Center and it won't find the Xbox.

The ONLY thing that has changed on my computer in the last few days has been an update to Kaspersky the other night.  I left out of it just to try and still no luck.

I did all the General stuff, any reboot, soft and hard resets to the router and the wireless router.  This is my Xbox connects to the internet without any problem, just not the Media Center.

I have no idea what to do next.

    Thank you for any response.

    Hi Cactus19,

Welcome to the Microsoft community. According to the description of the problem, I realized that you have a problem with connecting to Windows Media Center.

I would suggest trying the following methods and check the status of the issue.

    Method 1:
I suggest that you check the Media Center log in the event viewer and let us know what errors are appearing.

    Open event viewer.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-Event-Viewer

    Method 2:

While trying to use your Xbox 360 as a Media Center Extender console, you receive the error message: "Setup error".

    Method 3:

Restore the system to a system restore point where everything was fine.

    The system restore.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/system-restore

If the problem persists, I would say you send additional information to help you further, we will be happy to help you.

  • Qosmio G20: Question of Media Center Receiver - recovery question

As the abvoe really, I usually leave my computer running from one day to the next day and yesterday I went on it to find that I had 80 MB hard drive (60 GB HDD) to the left. Error messages had popped up and a record of these was recorded in the folder pchealth, under userdumps, or something like that. Anyway I deleted 58gigs with a value of these userdumps, but the same error message kept popping up.

It was a mistake with the Media Centre receiver, but I don't quite know what it is, but it was founded in the ehome folder which I think is located in the main folder of Windows.

I have been into msconfig and stopped the ehhome.exe to start but that seems to ruin the tv/video within the media library settings.

I recently installed the codec and divx player to play divx movies.

I was wondering is that it would be more prudent to use the CD recovery and re - install windows and the software and create a restore point, and then install the codecs to see if the same problem arises, or if someone has had this problem and it heals.

Finally, I actually ran the recovery cd to the above, but when the cd starts the first line on back said something like, 'running Setup for windows 98'. XP is certainly on the 98 and no recovery cd?

Can someone please confirm this for me and all the answers to the above problems.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I can t believe that Windows 98 is placed on the recovery CD.
AFAIK the Qosmio G20 was delivered with the MCE window.
There is no recovery of Win98 CDs for Qosmio units.

In my opinion, this message occurs due to RAID or other drivers that load at the beginning.
