Qosmio G20: Vista high definition output?

Hi all

Just checking in if Toshiba has released drivers for high-definition output using the D-cable on Vista?

It worked fine in XP, but not with Vista. Ahh, the upgrade to Vista, what is so problematic?

Hard FranciscoJR wrote about this earlier in the year:

"There is no way to get the output using the S-video high definition cable. You must use the cable with connectors for component video (red, blue and green ACS).
But the settings need to be adjusted on Nvidia Graphic driver for the HD output. Unfortunately, the real drivers of Nvidia for Windows Vista, those who work with the G20, do not set up the HD output. We stayed on this point, until we have new drivers from Nvidia. »

I'm still waiting... anyone had any success?

Hello guys

Dad's right on the last driver for your model Qosmio but in my opinion Vista support is quite similar by most producers of portable and, AFAIK, it has nothing to do with hardware specifications but whose date of production.

As you can see, Toshiba has made a sort of date limited and supported by all laptops made before this deadline will not be Vista. According to the specification for my 2 years old Tecra must not be equipped with Vista problem but I know that this model will never be Vista supported.

Unfortunately Qosmio F20, G20 will be not just Vista WXP supported all installed models F30 and G30. :(

  • No output high definition on the QOSMIO G20 Vista

    HI Fellow injured users

I'm here to grumble about how we can use our cable of trapeze of HD thingy at the exit of best resolution to our fantasies projectors and monitors.
Put my G20 on the projector via S-video gives it a blur that gives me does not want to use it.

Given that we seemed to have solved most of the problems to upgrade our ' pooters from XP to Vista via the post pilot Francisco - whose wise counsel received the forum most of the activities I've seen here - the cable is the last vestige of boring of incompatibility.
Oh and also the magic buttons.
Oh and also the sleep button.
And there are probably others, but they are the most insidious for now.

    Hello
I'm new to this forum. My name is Francisco and I live in the Brazil. I have a Toshiba Qosmio g20_105 and it is running Windows Vista Ultimate EN RTM 6000 without problems.
To do this, you must perform a clean installation of Windows Vista. The drivers for network (Intel PRO100), audio (Soundmax), TV (Toshiba PCI Tuner), modem (modem of toshiba), Alps pointing device are installed directly from microsoft. You must install the Toshiba, Toshiba Bluetooth nvidia display driver (monitor and stack), driver Toshiba flash media, toshiba RAID texas (drivers and utilities), toshiba remote control manager and ConfigFree for Windows Vista.
You must have the Toshiba RAID drivers to install from the windows Vista DVD. Otherway, Windows does not recognize Toshiba RAID 0 and RAID 1.

Below some pictures of my desktop of the G20 screen:

And here is an example of the use of backgrounds animated with Windows Vista, deskscapes called dreamscene.

To perform a new installation of windows Vista:

Please, download drivers Toshiba RAID here:

1 copy the contents of this archive on a floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive.
    2. Insert your Microsoft Windows Vista Edition Bootable DVD.
    3. turn on your computer and press F12 to display the start menu.
    4. Select the option to boot from the CD/DVD drive.
    5. on the first Setup screen, choose your language options, and then press "next".
    6. press on "install now".
7 type your product key and then press "next".
    8. accept the license terms by checking the box, then press "next".
    9. when he asked "which type of installation that you want", press "Custom (advanced)".
    10. when it is asked "Where do you want to install Windows?", make sure that your media containing the Toshiba RAID drivers is connected to the computer, and then click on "Load driver".
    11. navigate to the location you copied the RAID drivers then press 'OK '.
    12. the installation program will return to the previous screen, but it will show that you have selected the TOSHIBA RAID driver.
13 make sure that the TOSHIBA RAID driver is selected, and then press "next".
    14. continue the installation of Windows Vista as usual.

  • Qosmio G20 - Vista forced on second HARD drive installation

I installed Vista on my second HDD and place it in the second slot of HDD of my G20. However, it has begun to give some error messages on startup so I had to format the second disk of HARD with XP, I always get a number of errors on the HARD drive (installed at the factory) primary. Who is the Media Center Receiver service issue that comes up intermittently.

I guessed that I must have damaged some of the registry that I also get KEYBOARD shortcut to the startup error messages. Please can anyone help with solutions I want to reformat my main HARD drive.

Hey Buddy please be serious. In my opinion, you can do what you want, but you are never sure that everything is fixed to 100%. Registry errors are for me the most sensible issues and it should all be perfect.

Back up all your important data and install OS using the recovery image. You will have perfectly clean BONES and you can continue to experiment with the Vista installation.

What mistakes have you noticed when OS starts?

  • Qosmio G20-127: failure to screen after closing the lid on Vista

    Hello

I have a Qosmio G20-127 and I recently installed Vista Ultimate (32 bit). I managed to put everything in its place (except the magic buttons, but the drivers are not on yet), but I have a problem that makes me seriously reconsider coming back to XP MCE.

When I close the lid of my computer, the screen turns off of course, but when I open again, it does not turn, but it stays black. And I can't turn it on again no matter what. I have to turn off the entire computer and it is quite unrealistic.

Funny is that after a restart for about 20-30 minutes, I can open and close the lid normally, but the same problem occurs after a bit more time to work on the computer.
The problem persists even though I disabled everything remotely connected to the closing of the cover.

    Does anyone have a solution?

    Hello English

Try you update the BIOS on the VISTA OS?

I can imagine you will always find something new and unusual, but please note that Vista is not supported by the OS for Qosmio G20 (Vista drivers are not available on the Toshiba download page) and you can expect that from time to time, you will discover new disturbing behavior.

I recommend you to install and configure Vista as described in the topic of s Francisco, configure OS for your needs, and be happy if you use Vista without any serious problems. In my opinion, for OS installation and configuration software Qosmio is Toshiba laptop more complicated template, and you will never be able to configure it as a supported and preinstalled WXP MCE. Commands supported are tested and bugs are fixed, but not with Vista on Qosmio G20.

Sorry my friend. Sounds stupid, but maybe that's just the truth. By the way: I like Qosmio G20. Maybe I'll buy one if the price is Ok.

    Good bye

  • Qosmio G20 HD is ready?

    I have a Qosmio G20 (PQG 20).
No one knows if, with the help of a "tuner Avermedia AverTV DVB - T Volar USB" (HD ready),
I can watch true HD transmissions of BBC / LAND?
    Thank you.

    Hello

I checked the page on? AVerMedia AverTV DVB - T Volar USB tuner? in my country, but I didn? t find any info on the HD. I have gift? t know if in your region, you are able to watch HDTV, but try to talk to your local dealer. They should be able to give you info on the TV tuner.

Qosmio G20 has high complete ready for HD and if the tuner is HD-ready, you can enjoy better picture quality on your laptop. I also Qosmio G20 but in my region there is no DVB - T, not yet, but I'm also very interested to have a HD TV.

  • Share a movie in high definition video Flash

    Hello:

I use Premiere Elements 4.0, and I would like to create a Flash video in 720 p from a 720 p input file.

Use the presets, I can create a MPG 720 p without problem, but there seems not to be greater than 640 X 480 setting of Flash Video.  Is there a way to create a FLV to HD format so that it will be displayed as HD on You Tube?

    Thank you

    Rich Locus

The best solution we found is the video as a MP4 high-definition output and YouTube re - encoding in FLV format, by the frequently asked questions to the right of this forum.

    http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/623549?TSTART=0

You're not going to get any higher quality ranging from FLV to FLV, because the program still him convert to its workflow in any case format (AVI or MPEG and HDV) while working with her. Additionally, the biggest quality problems appear when YouTube starts to screw with it, that there is no way around.

Give him a H.264 file, and you will get the best possible results.

  • Qosmio G20 = video cable component and videos in high definition with Pinnacle

    Dear everybody
I bought my Qosmio G20-120 of the Poland that came with D video cable SCART. This cable is only capable of transferring video signals (CVBS) which is pretty useless, because Qoismio already has a S-video out... What is the best simple video production I can get to SCART.
According to www.toshiba-europe.com Qoismio is supposed to have video output component. But it comes with cable SCART instead. I always try to make this component video cable D-video of the Distributor. If I don't succeed, does anyone know if and where I can buy this cable in Europe? Or is it possible to make a video component with the D-video out D-video cable with cable SCART?
Everyone last tried the channels high definition DVB-S on Qoismio using USB 2.0 DVB - S TV Card.Any opinions on Pinnacle PCTV 400e?
    Thank you

    Hello

Sorry, but I don t agree with you. SCART in my opinion is always better than S-Video. As far as I know cable SCART can transfer image and sound and picture just S-Video. Am I wrong?

In my view, it's great that laptop Qosmio has two video ports and each use can make a choice.

Another way your ad is a bit confusing to me. Qosmio G20 includes a section on the port (D-video) and as far as I know the original cable must be provided. You can see on this page http://support.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB4A00TK000MR01.htm

Using this cable you can easily connect your laptop to the TV.

    Also check this http://support.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ5300XK0012R01.htm document
It can also be interesting and useful to you.

  • VISTA on Qosmio G20

Hi, is upgrading to Vista on a Qosmio G20 recommended?
I know the Vista Media Center not - work with HDTV here in Sweden, but WinMCE2005 (XP), and the latter is installed on my G20.

I don't think that Vista Media Center can be added on XP.

    Hello

AFAIK Qosmio G20 is not Vista support and unfortunately Toshiba doesn't offer Vista drivers, tools and utilities for this model of laptop.

In my opinion, you should continue to use Windows XP Home edition.

What you can do is try how Vista works on Qosmio G20 and install it on the second partition of HARD drive.

  • Qosmio G20 is not Compatible Vista

Vista is not compatible with the Qosmio G20, despite what was said in previous comments.

I got in touch with support Tech from Toshiba, Microsoft and my ISP. As trying to install it, even if it has installed, no component of Toshiba worked and my network/internet access does not work either. Technical support Toshiba said that since they advertise portable computers that are 'vista ready', this therefore translates by made of others, all other portable non supported. I hope you can learn from my mistakes I have proceed to wipe my data and reinstall XP.

If you're happy with Windows XP Home edition, I strongly suggest to stay with her.

    Hello Ganesh

Sorry, but this laptop model is not supported for Vista 64 bit and I don't know what the driver installation you are writing about.
What you can try is to download and install THIS driver.
It's driver for Satellite A300 but this laptop has the same sound card as your Satellite A300D - Conexant CX20561.
