Tecra R840-PT429E - update Bios message: this computer is not supported
When I try to install the bios update 12/09/12,3.90-WIN(EC_KBC1.60) I get the following message: this computer is not supported.
Updated the BIOS, I downloaded from the section of the Bios Toshiba for Tecra R840-PT429E update, windows7 64 bit.Hello
Is the a reason to update the BIOS or you want to update the BIOS simply because the new BIOS is available?
You have a serious problem with the laptop?I have no day BIOS, even if the new BIOS is available for my laptop because I have no problems.
However, the BIOS requires the VAP (value added package).
This package can be downloaded from the Toshiba UE driver page
If there is a problem with the VAP, the update of the BIOS would not start. So reinstall the VAP to check if this may help

Tecra M10 - update of the BIOS says "this computer is not supported.
Recently refurbished a M10 - 10I to reinstall the operating system. WinXP install at all so I try to update the BIOS as it seems quite old (V1.5). Most recent version (and is available) for this machine seems to be V3.0. Download and try to run the file "P0065V300" and get the message:
Package for the TOSHIBA BIOS ver.3.3.0
This computer is not supportedWhat can I do? Its supposed to be for this model!
Also, prefer a version of boot drive, but hey, I can use a version of Windows, assuming that it runs on Win7.
Hello
Tecra M10 - 10I belongs to the series of PTMB1E and according to the page of the Toshiba UE driver, BIOS v3.00 - WIN is the latest BIOS version which is available for this model.
The BIOS update requires a few additional tools Toshiba as VAP (additional package for Win 7)
If this driver isn't installed, the update of the BIOS would not work.

Tecra R10 - 10J: BIOS update abandoned "this computer is not supported.
Hello
My laptop is a Tecra R10 - 10J PartNumber PTRB1E-00D002FR, 1.40 BIOS version 11/13/2008.
I recently bought and installed two modules of 4 GB RAM (8 GB). Enter the BIOS setup, I found 8 GB. Windows 7 64 bit also detects the 8 GB, but uses only 3.80! MemTest and diagnosis of CPU - Z are good for all of the 8 GB. I went from RAM modules from one location to another, but nothing has changed. If I replace a module of 4GB by a 2 GB memory, Windows 7 uses 5.80 is going well. Same result as any module of memory of 4 GB or slot I use.
I suppose that problem comes from the BIOS. The 1.40 version does not support memory mapped IO functionality.
So I followed the instructions on "http://fr.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/?download_drivers_bios.jsp?" to find the last good package to update BIOS for Tecra R10 - 10J. I downloaded and ran the BIOS310?. exe, but received the error message "this computer is not supported"?
Can someone tell me how to upgrade my BIOS or did someone has a better idea to activate the full 8 GB of RAM support?
Thank you for all!

Hello
You must install the VAP (value added package) or if this package is already installed, you must reinstall/upgrade to update it.
Disable the Antivirus software and disable things of security such as firewalls etc.
Hope that you're lucky...

Windows 7 32 bitHello
Have you installed the VAP (value added package)?
The VAP is necessary in order to run the BIOS update and Toshiba tools.
I found a son with the same error message, but the user is using Win XP.The problem could be solved by the installation of common Modules (only for Win XP).
But the VAP is released for Vista and Win 7 and common modules are in the VFR package. -

Hello
I replaced the Windows preinstalled with an installation of Fedora 16, - which works perfectly btw - and hope
to solve the "Windows only Bios update problem" with a Windows 7 bootable USB drive, which works again
great so far, but the BIOS160_EC130_WIN.exe said simply: "this computer is not supported." ...Any ideas appreciated.

You cannot update the BIOS under Linux and using a victory based version of the BIOS.
You will need to use the image of preinstalled Toshiba. -

Go to the page European driver Toshiba and download the BIOS package manually.
Unzip the BIOS and try to run the exe file once moreBut why you need BIOS update? Have you noticed a few problems with the laptop?
BIOS update is not required if you don t have problems. -

Hello HP,.
I have a laptop CQ58-bf9WM, which had Windows 8.1. The 320 GB hard drive died and bought a new SATA 500 GB laptop. had no CD recovery, went online, enter all the important information, serial No., model #, then purchased through HP recovery disk, received the CD (manufacturer 708896-001, 708895-001 708897-001) and put #1 disc in the CD started and that's what I get: this computer is not supported by the system recovery media. You will not be able to continue to recover this system with these media. "Error: 0100-169-1855-188 b" then you have the OK, then when you press OK, the laptop shuts down. I pressed ESC on POST, then I tested memory and the new hard drive and they both passed. HELP PLEASE! Thank you
Should not have anything to do with the new hard-both disk that is at least equal or greater than original ability, they work. It is 'possible' that you have received the wrong set of recovery.
Thing of OE to check. Enter the BIOS by pressing F10 immediately after turning on (have to press ESC, then F10 to the menu). Is the serial number, model number.etc all intact?

Qosmio G30 (PQG32E) - update BIOS problem
I try to use this bios downloand - 20080424160754.zip support for laptop but when start telling me "this calculation is not supported" even help the firmware update.
You will need to run the setup of BIOS with administrator rights. This can be easily done by right click on the setup and choose ' run as... '. ». There, you can choose if you run the file as a registered user or another (as administrator). If you set a password during the installation then you will have to type in the next screen, otherwise installation will continue and will update the BIOS.
That's all...
Welcome them

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-NW235F and I am a student in the it field. A lot of my software are not supported by Windows 7. So I upgraded my Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional so that I can run Virtual PC. But I'm not able to run due to the above error...
Please kindly help me
Thanking you,
Paths
Salvation of the paths,
Looks like you are trying to get XP Mode configured, that will install a virtual machine for you to run your legacy programs. This feature is available in the professional versions, full and Enterprise edition - so your property in this aspect.
You get this error message because you do not have the chip installed for hardware - assisted virtualization technology and it's good. you don't need more. Click on this link http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx and select your language and edition. Then scroll down to step 3. You must download and run the third component called Windows XP Mode Update. This update will remove the requirement that you have the chip mentioned above.
That should do the trick.

First be sure that the AHCI is enabled in the BIOS.
In addition, the Intel Storage Manager controls the AHCI so you should integrate the AHCI driver to CD Win XP as described here:

I would like to know if you want to perform a new installation or an upgrade installation.
You can not install Windows on an unallocated partition, if you install vista on brand\fresh the new hard disk, you will need to create partitions on the hard disk.
Method 1: Format the partition and then try to install Windows Vista.
Important: The applications on the computer and all data will be lost when you format (New Installation) of the partition.
Method 2: You can follow the steps mentioned in the article below

I've recently updated my old WD Scorpio Blue HDD(640GB) format tip of Hitachi 1 TB 7200 RPM HARD drive.
When I entered the serial number at the back of the laptop, it has not be activated and so I opted for the path of phone activation. (this was happening before too and I used to activate the phone, but never I had windows is not an authentic message).
Windows has been activated successfully, and then, suddenly, after two days, I get a message "this computer is not running genuine windows.
It's strange, because I formatted and reinstalled so many times before in the past on the old HDD.
As far as I know, the serial number is related to the motherboard of the system and not the HARD drive right? So I don't get as to why is - that say windows is not genuine. The features of Windows Update is disabled for me...
Details of the laptop:
Acer Aspire 5740 G, intel i5, 4 GB RAM.
Installed antivirus: Avast Internet security (under license).
Is could someone please help me solve this problem? I really need your help...
