  I have a Qosmio G35-av600 laptop. As I see in many subjects, I "* evil machine *" error when I want to use my recovery DVDs. I'm looking across the net, forums, everywhere and I couldn't not one any tool to update dmi for this computer.

  In this forum there are also topics related to that even there is a generic update dmi tool but it did not work. Anyone who has solved this problem? If the CD version exists, it would be better.

  I am interested to buy the Qosmio G35-AV600 to the United States. I would like to change the keyboard in a German. Where can I find all the drivers and utility software in German language or German Qosmio laptop is compartible for G35-AV600? This laptop will be a gift for my sister and she doesn't know how to speak English very well. I like to set up the mobile world in the German language included in Windows XP.

  Everything you need you can find on the download page of Toshiba under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads > Support home page.

  Only problem I can see there is TV tuner because it is a country and I am afraid it is not possible to use it in Europe (another standard TV). I'm also not sure how the WLAN card works because a user has reported that it has problems to the United Kingdom with American machine.

  I know that the units are less expensive in the United States but as Qosmio unit should be used with all the material and all the options. The Qosmio G30 series is great but it will be perhaps better to buy F30 in Germany and your sister will have no problems.

  Please do not include it as something negative, but that's just my opinion.

  I think that this problem is related to the NTSC / PAL settings.

  I try to format it using recovery CD but I have the following message
  "This CD is not configured for your laptop. Its Qosmio G35 model'

  If I format using XP by booting from the CD i cannot load its drivers of default recovery CDs. Because it's not G35 type according to the default recovery CDs.
  OK I could download them from the web site official but model g35 is not defined in the selection of the support link table.

  Fixed: Times wired / wireless LAN insured Wake-on-LAN functionality.
  Fixed: Ensure a remote to work Express Media Player.
  Fixed: Exclamation mark (!) appears when starting a model of TV tuner, while the RF switch matrix is turned OFF.
  Fixed: S3-wake question pertaining to the remote control mode. (Models Japan only with EC/KBC V1.10)
  It is the first version of BIOS for PQG33U models.
  This BIOS supports Windows Vista and XP.

  I had the Dreded ' * bad Machine * ' message when you try to use the recovery cd that came with my Toshiba laptop. You mind I have successfully uses these CDs in the past. Of all of the post, I've seen so far, that I have concluded that I need to change the channel of DMI.

  Question: anyone knows where to find the utility of DMI for a G35 AV600 update? The sound I see on "Ask Iris online" all seem to be for other models? Can anyone help?

  Qosmio G35 seems to be a series Toshiba US. I have not very well if this series uses the same string as the European model G30 Mr. anyway, according to the manual of the user that is stored on the G30, you must use this string: * 1 2 3 4 and then press ENTER. *

  So I recently installed windows XP on my Toshiba Qosmio G35-600 and I found all the drivers except two. If someone out there could help me find this would be great.

  (1) the first driver, I can't find is for the control of Toshiba above my keyboard buttons (I think that's what they are called). Quosmios have 12 buttons on the top above the F keys and currently only my power button, the brightness keys, up and down and the keys sound dolby work. The key analog TV, the Media Center button, play, stop, previous, next, check-in and s-video, the buttons do nothing more. It would be cool if I had again a s-video on the ability, but above all I want is the previous play and next buttons to work.

  (2) the second problem I have is with my built in SD card reader. A few times I thought I found the right driver, but after installing the SD card was not appearing in my computer.

  On the U.S. Toshiba download page, you can find drivers Windows XP Home (link given by Luc). I think you're missing Toshiba controls for Windows XP (don't forget the common modules is installed first) and Texas Instruments PCIxx21 FlashMedia driver for the card reader.

  Is a device in the Device Manager listed as unknown?
