Qosmio G50-129 PQG55E - 64-Bit Windows 7 updated - update the BIOS?

Hello

I have a Qosmio G50 that I've upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit. My BIOS is unupdated for 6 months when I bought the machine.

I went to update the BIOS, just to keep things updated, so I went through the pilot Online Assistant:

http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

And all information entered above, it provides:

http://Support1.toshiba-tro.de/Tedd-files2/0/BIOS-20090312131718.zip

After having unpacked and P0060v210.exe running, he extracted, and then said:

"The [error] BIOS update is not taken in charge of operating system. No support for operating system or service pack is installed. "(Word to all my friends of Googling!).

Toshiba has an update of the BIOS for the Qosmio G50 is supported on Windows 7? Specifically for the 64-bit? They need to fix this glitch which orders to download this file when it is not clearly supported by Windows 7.

Also, I tried to run it in compatibility mode with Windows XP SP2 and it worked fine - but I was nervous about going through the update if it didn't initially support Windows 7, so I do not continue to the next prompt. Is it safe to do? Has anyone else in this situation he does without problems? I read the BIOS updates can go horribly wrong, if not careful, so I hesitate to update the BIOS by performing the update in compatibility mode when it doesn't support Windows 7 on its own!

Thanks in advance for any help and Merry Christmas.

Hello

I agree with bljuzga_1.
Because the BIOS is independent, it shouldn't be a problem with the update using Win 7 OS.
The error must be linked to your installed Win 7 OS and not the BIOS bug.

It would also be possible that your value added package for Win 7 is not installed correctly.
This package contains the TOSHIBA components common driver which is an essential component of the Windows operating system. He will have to make the other original programming TOSHIBA works correctly.

This is a step that I completely missed, as far as I know at the time, that acer had no information about the update and it's the first time I installed a Windows operating system - zero that I leaned on for the characteristics of the facility he said nothing about the BIOS (and there was nobody at Acer). Windows 10 has worked without problem on the machine. The only problem I had on a regular basis (and not always, but most of the time) is when the computer restarts it stalls on the Acer screen. I usually don't bother using the option restart. All that said, my experience of Windows 10 has been pretty good, and the machine running on most of the time was reliable, but I'm at a point where I want to go back and do a clean Windows installation.

Now, I used the media creation tool to make an ISO. But the last time I used the MCT to paste directly to a flash drive, then maybe I'll do that once again. On the BIOS, I am a total n00b, so I don't know anything about. I assume it's something that I can still do / have done for me before installing Windows if I didn't not messed up already enough things. I'm kind of fishing for the answers that I have not yet to have questions for.

What are my options, and what is the best option for me at this point? As I said, the Windows front-end runs under the best conditions in the State, and this backend that can go on is just invisible to me. Restart the computer just seems out of whack.

Sorry to be verbose and vague.

Since you always have a working windows installation, you can update now, and then perform the clean installation.

Updating the BIOS is very simple and simply follow the instructions in the Readme inside the zip package.

But firstly check you current BIOS version:

key of the Windows logo + x

    Run

    type

    Msinfo32

    Check the BIOS DATE/version

the latest version of the BIOS is P11. A4

  • Qosmio G50 - where can I find Windows 7 drivers?

    I have this laptop:
    Qosmio G50 series PQG55E

But I can't find the download for Windows 7 area. There is a place where? For other series, I found an article but does not match my model. You know where it can be?

    Thank you

You won't find Win7 drivers for all models again. But you can use most of Vista drivers in Win7.

However the Toshiba site has some beta drivers, you can try.

  • Qosmio G50 129: can it be used/accessed by other DLNA products?

    Hello

I have a Qosmio G50-129. I am looking to purchase a DLNA Certified TV but wanted to know if the laptop is compatible DLNA so that I can access the contents of my Qosmio on the TV or if it was all I needed to do the Qosmio "DLNA compatible?

The http://www.dlna.org/digital_living/product_types/#pc_frame site advises the following:
    "Personal computers (PC).
One who has a PC knows that they have powerful network capabilities built-in. Thus, their DLNA Certified potential is determined only by the type of software installed on them.

DLNA Certified PC are able to act as a Digital Media Server (DMS), Digital Media Player (DMP), Digital Media Controller (DMC) or digital media converter (DMR). Most of the PC available today start with be certified as a DMS, since many of us keep most of our digital content on our PC. »

There is also a section of research and correspondence on the site that does not have my model Qosmio. This mean that I can not, or is there a solution/work around for this?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    REkha

As far as I know that any PC with a NIC (Ethernet or Wi - Fi) can become a DLNA device by installing DLNA software. In January 2010 the DLNA started a software certification program.

As far as I know Toshiba will offer the new application in the future and make it more comfortable to use DLNA. Must be an interface for Windows Media Player.

For now, you can try to use the standard features of Windows 7 which should be available in Windows media player (supplied with Windows 7) 12.
To be honest I don't have any other DLNA device and can not test it, but very quickly I want to buy DLNA player Blu - ray with integrated WLAN and want to have access to my PC and watch movies on TV but portable saved on HARD drive.

So look for some info on the DLNA on Windows media player 12 service and see how it works.

Please be so kind and inform us of this.

  • Qosmio G50-129 - can I have it with Blu - ray?

I was looking for a laptop for a few weeks now and I fell on the Toshiba Qosmio G50-129. I had already seen the X 300 range, which had the quad processor, I prefer, but I did not like the colors of this laptop "boy racer".

I thought that the G50 was a reasonable compromise - the high-end core 2 duo processor 800 GB of disk space and lots of features. Only two issues I have with this machine is the 32-bit version of Vista (why don't they provide 64-bit - I'll never understand this) and the lack of Blu - ray.

Now, I'm not a fanatic of DVD or something else that I appreciate that the Blu - ray is the format that is there to stay. To this end, I have a small collection of DVD Blu - ray that I can play on my PS3 and my DVD Blu - ray player hooked up to my surround sound system.

Can someone please explain to me why Toshiba produced this stunning notebook G50 - 129, but for A £1 499 it does not include a Blu - ray player? Are they crazy? I don't like that they have lost the race format by backing the wrong horse, I expect to get the Blu - ray on A £1. 5K laptop!

Unfortunately, Toshiba you lost my business as a result of this omission. Too bad you didn't just accept that Blu - ray is here to stay and accept him as most of the other manufacturers.

    Hello

As you know different notebooks from different manufacturers have different material combination.
Is that Qosmio G50 doesn't support Blu - Ray player, but this machine has other benefits.

It was equipped with the Toshiba Quad Core HD processor, that can turn ordinary DVDs in HD quality.
So you can play DVDs using the internal player and you will get an almost the same quality as a Bluray drive.
In this case you don't need to buy a new BluRay drive, but you can watch the DVD movies in HD quality!

However, I searched here in the forum for similar and found issues these topics:

It might be interesting for you.

Finally, I must say that I would not buy a laptop just because of the Blu - Ray player.
For me it s more interesting a CPU, graphics card, RAM, because these are the parts that are needed for games, multimedia, etc.
Of course, the blue ray player would be a nice extra but I have a PS3 too and it was already fitted blue ray player

If this player is not really necessary for me

    Welcome them

    Hello

Is there a BIOS for Vista 32 bit and 64 bit.
There is no special Win 7 BIOS.

If you want to install Win 7 64 bit, I advise to use the BIOS for Vista 64-bit. If you want to install Win 7 32 bit-> choose vista 32-bit BIOS.

Generally, it should be possible to upgrade the BIOS under Win 7 so, but because that it s a BIOS for the Vista operating system, I recommend upgrading the BIOS in Vista.

    Qosmio F50 - 10 k belongs to the series of PQF55E.
If you want to update the BIOS, you will need to use the BIOS exactly for the F50 PQF55E series.

The European driver Toshiba page provides BIOS for Vista 32-bit and 64-bit OS.
But this does not mean that you cannot use the Win XP

I think you can use the Win XP but the fact is that the BIOS has been optimized for Vista and not XP

The BIOS update should work also on XP, but in some rare cases the update cannot be performed and in this case, you will need to the Toshiba preinstalled the operating system in order to update the BIOS

  • Qosmio G30 - I can't update the BIOS

    I have a Qosmio G30 * PQG31A-01Y01F model number * purchased from the Australia.

I downloaded the update to the BIOS (version 3.90) of the Australian from Toshiba Web site. But it still says "the computer is not supported. I know that this message appears when you try to update the BIOS to one lappy with another.

Its frustrating because I am very sure that I downloaded the correct bios listed on the Australian site. It is very incompetent on the part of toshiba for not providing the correct bios of the same.

Why cant they put an all .bin file. Now they are confused with that support, they have released so many model of qosmio worldwide

I need this update bios because because it's a model that has been registered under the program repair GPU. Lappy so expensive and they come with a such blunder upward.

It's strange. I found the same BIOS on another site of Toshiba, try this: http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/bios-20080911134528.zip

PS. you have installed Windows 32-bit or 64-bit? Is it Vista or XP?

  • Question about updating the BIOS for Qosmio G20

I downloaded the updated the BIOS of my pc, not the Qosmio, the instructions say it will unpack into 3 files, one being a floppy disk installation. When I unzip on my desktop pc, it makes a file that s too big for a floppy and he won t unzip further because it locks up my pc.

Is it safe to make it work on my desktop pc it can unzip then in the three files and this will affect my BIOS or y at - it somewhere that I can download the floppy part on its own to load on a floppy?

    Hello

    Just a question;
You have downloaded the Qosmio G20 BIOS on the desktop computer, unpacked and now you want it please on the diskette in the floppy drive.
    Is this good?

    So now my suggestion;
Firstly that the Qosmio G20 BIOS and other BIOS Toshiba cannot be updated using the floppy! This isn't traditional BIOS!
The BIOS from the Toshiba page must be updated when the Windows operating system is running!

By the way: you can unpack the BIOS on your desktop computer, but don t try to run all files, because the bad BIOS can damage the motherboard ROM module!
