• Qosmio G50 - cannot install the FM Tuner in Windows Vista Media Center?

  Can someone help me get the most out of Windows Vista media center with my new Qosmio G50.

  There is a tuner inside this laptop and I have the antenna and its plugged in. The drivers all seem to be installed but WMC tells me that I don't have the hardware to run FM stations and I can't make it work. Also, I can't record library but although I can't watch TV no problem at all.

  Are you sure that your equipped G50 FM tuner to 100%?

  As I know a few models of G50 has been equipped with a tuner TV with antenna TV port that allows to connect a coaxial cable to this port to watch a TV program and then save.
  But as I said earlier, this feature is not included with all models of G50.

  Sorry, but I didn't find any info regarding the FM tuner.

  I n t have experience with a Xbox or Xbox 360, but I can say that's not possible.

  The Qosmio G50 and all the other laptops I know have only one video * output signal and not a port of entry. If the laptop screen can t be used as an external monitor.

  I have a Qosmio G50 - 10v. For gesture controller request from the Toshiba.I site, I installed a gesture controller driver tried the English and German version, but for the Quad Core HD processor shows error. The message is
  like the following"Im Toshiba quad core HD processor Fehler aufgetreten ist. (CODE = 0X800A0100)
  Later, I formatted the pc and reinstalled the processor image driver and motion controller. When I open a Toshiba DVD player and watch DVDs, Quad core does not work and quad core shows 0%. So I watch movies with low definition.

  The "Toshiba Quad Core HD processor" gadget works when I've been upgraded / decommissioning or other video processing in the "Toshiba graphic Video Library»

  To check this, click on the red arrow on the left side of the gadget, click on "library graphic video Toshiba", right click on a video and select "vidéo Processing", then try and upconvert or downgrade a video according to what kind of video it is.

  Simple treatment should see the upper left quadrant the gadget turn orange or red while showing a percentage. Complex treatment, perhaps using one of the other programs in the menu drop down the gadget can do all four quadrants of the gadget actively processing colors/percentage of changes. I saw all active quadrant during certain functions of video processing. I've not seen it activates when not video processing.

  The program that you are running appears in the white box in the gadget under "request of race."

  Hi to you all. I was wondering how to increase RAM on the new qosmio (G50 and X 300 series) models
  If I remember well from 8 GB of RAM are supported only with a 64 bit OS but it looking Toshiba web all around the world that seems in fact only the French model has inside a 64 bit OS, but you will see in any kind of Qosmio this possibility.
  For example, in Italy, in fact you can buy only the G50-103 with Vista Ultimate 32 bit... so, how will increase memory up to 8 GB?

  I guess you have wondered how to have 8 GB with an operating system and not only how to increase physically, or? If you want to have Vista64 you can also get a machine IN your country and buy a Vista64. As the platform supports more than 4 GB of RAM you won't have many problems to have a machine with 8 GB of RAM.

  On the other side: do you really need a lot of RAM? Each piece of the RAM to 2 GB would be recognized, but after 2-3 GB you do not recognize even when you work with photoshop. 3 GB of RAM are absolutely enough and everything would be better in a server or 3D workstation that requires a lot of RAM because of these LARGE textures and models.

  I have a problem with the driver that is currently installed.
  How to uninstall and remove, permanently, the modem in my Qosmio G50-12 q?

  I need to have a modem recognised by Windows 7 because that whenever do unistall it, Windows, it found automatically. I have to do a new clean install.

  I deleted all drivers - c:\windows\system32\drivers\agrm.sys and all the LSI*.inf and all the folder in c:\Program Files\LSI, but Windows 7 found I don't know where. In regedit, it is not possible to delete several keys on MODEM LSI.

  If you do not have modem, you must not uninstall it, just disable it in Device Manager and the problem will be solved.

  How to get a new install of Windows 7 x 86 running on a Qosmio G50.

  It is assumed that you have a version of Vista x 86 installed.
  First I must say, I'm from the Germany. So, I loaded the drivers on the European side of Toshiba.
  The problem with a new facility is that you lose some applications preinstalled Toshiba as the DVD or Ulead DVD player.

  You can skip these steps if you do not need.

  In the recovery partition, you will find all the files needed for the installation of this software program.

  # Install the Setup Kit automated Windows (Windows AIK). This installs a driver you must mount the image files.
  # Create two directories to join and mount the image.
  # The use of the Witch of the imagex tool is a command line tool, located in the directory your recovery partition tools and explained in the WAIK kit and on the Microsoft Support online help. A good idea is the imagex command /?.

  # Now you will find in this directory a folder Toshiba. Expand this folder, and go to Drivers\BTOAPP. The subfolders contain all the installation files for the applications that you can not download from Toshiba. Record everything you need in a safe place for later use.

  If you want to use a Media for the Media Center Extender, installing fingerprint software to get the driver for the sensor and uninstall it. This software prevents the Extender to connect to your media library.

  Now, install the applications according to the needs in alphabetical order. You'll miss the DVD player. Do not install from your old sources, it will fail. Download and install it to a Satellite Pro S300. Then, run the update DVD player check tool. This will take you to a download from Toshiba. Download and install this, it's a silent installation. After, you have a HD DVD player using the HD processor and the switch "upconvert".
