Qosmio G50 - Windows XP SATA Driver and BSOD

Good evening to all...

I bought a Qosmio G50 and am frustrated with Vista. I want to load XP 32 on the system. Here are the configuration information:

Model name: Qosmio G50
Part number: PQG55C-01R039
OS version: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1
BIOS version: Version 1.70
CPU: Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 Duo CPU P7350 @ 2.00 GHz
IDE Outspends: Intel(r) ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller
IDE devices: FUJITSU MHZ2320BH G1

I downloaded the driver SATA here: ['Intel(r) ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller' | http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProductID=2101&DwnldID=1675 9 & strOSs = 44 & OSFullName = Windows * % 20XP % 20Professiona l & lang = eng]

The driver info indicated that it supports the "Intel(r) ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller"...

I use a Windows XP Corporate CD with SP3 slipstreamed in there. I copied the SATA drivers on a floppy disk and use the F6 option to load the SATA drivers. I was able to select the correct driver, then proceed with the installation a little and then get a BSOD:

Stop: 0x0000007B (0XF78D2524M, 0XC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Hello!

> Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
Yes, you have downloaded the wrong driver.

This BSOD is a known problem, then you can also find an article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
http://support.Microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3ben-us%3B324103&x=8&y=14

Then take a look at the Intel Web site again and download another driver.

Good bye

  • Qosmio G50 - Windows does not shut down without memory stick inserted

I have a Qosmio G50 running Windows 7. The pc does not stop unless I have my USB stick inserted. Without the USB, I can tell the pc to stop. Without the inserted stick, the pc will say that it stops and remains on the screen closed for 10-15 minutes and then restart.

However, as soon as I put the USB into the USB port, the pc will stop within 2 seconds.

It is not easy to understand the situation and explain why this happens.
Qosmio G50 is not latest model cell phone, so I can't imagine that this strange question comes on the first day.

Something like this can be done with the factory settings. The configuration, preinstalled software, background running applications and processes on your Qosmio OS are not known to us is not easy to help you with this.
Somehow, I think that something running in the background blocks of the system. Unfortunately, I can't say what that would be.

    Check a bit.
By the way: have you noticed the behavior even if you try to use standby or hibernation mode?

  • Machine virtual Windows 2000, ftdisk errors and BSOD (twice a month)

    Hello

We have a Windows 2000 SP4 installed to server with all possible updates of Microsoft Windows updates.  It's in our vSphere 4.1 environment which consists of 3 4.1 ESX hosts connected to an EMC SAN with NFS data warehouses.  Every once in a while ago and only this particular virtual machine will go belly up.  Basically, end-users will start to meet execution errors in their application.  Thus, we check the VM and notice a lot of pop-up windows and errors in the system for ftdisk event log (Event ID 50 {Lost Delayed-write-data}).  It gets to a point where you can not do anything in the server, then you will have to hard it turned off.

After reboot, it will display the Windows 2000 splash screen and then a BSOD will appear with INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE.  Whatever the choice of Safe mode, safemode w / Networking, last known good, etc...  Also try to attach ISO or a physical CD often freezes the vSphere client so hard to my intel core i7 PC for ever the same displays a CTRLALTDEL Task Manager.

So the solution is to mount a this machine VMDK file to another virtual machine, then run a chkdsk on it, then remove.  To power up the virtual machine Windows 2000, he finally fill the trunk and automatically run a chkdsk on other partitions and difficulty many files, indexes, security descriptors, etc.  The server is online and the hosted application works very well.

Audit in the newspapers, it seems that it has happened with this frequency (looking ftdisk warnings)

    02/11/2010 to 03/11/2010

    05/10/2010 to 06/10/2010

    29/09/2010 to 01/10/2010

    23/09/2010

So it's a little sporadic.  The server gets used exactly the same every week, is not as if he was not less any activity between the 10/6 and 11/2, where it doesn't have the bomb on at all.

Any idea on what is happening here?  If it were a real physical server, it would be all point to a failure of hard drive or scsi controller.  However, it is on an ESX host, as well as many other machines to talk to the same San, and nothing else has a problem.  It comes to our Windows 2000 Server only in our environment, everything else is 2003 or 2008.  The config for this VM problem is:

    1024 MB

    1 PROCESSOR

    4 MB OF VRAM

    VMCI limited

Controller of BusLogic SCSI parallel 0

30 GB thin provisioned SCSI (0:0) hard drive 1

    "Flexible" network adapter

Nothing special or notable outside of a default virtual machine configuration.

Thanks for your comments.  This one is perplexing.  Is not as we can 'swap hard disk.  Were in discussions with the vendor of the application for a migration to Server 2008, but I don't know when that will be possible (if this year or the first quarter of next year).

If you change names like this - ethernet also remove NIC ghost?

It is likely that your changes produces one or more of them - please check.

I cleaned some entries in your existing file and transferred.

  • Install the new SATA drive and the primary drive Clone which he

After reading many messages from hard drive yesterday and the manual for my Dimension 4600, I bought a Western Digital 250 GB SATA internal drive which will become the secondary drive through Dell. My first is a 40 GB with 14 GB of free space. I am a student of site design Web and must use Adobe Creative Suite CS3, including PhotoShop, Dreamweaver, etc., which is a huge program. Technology Department told me that I could load the program Adobe Creative Suite CS3 on the new secondary drive and my images and other Documents which I will use to create Web sites for school. I could load MicroSoft Office 2007 as well if it is a good idea.

What is a reasonable secondary use of a hard drive?  Is this a good practice? Benefits; Disadvantages?

If the primary drive fails in the future, it is possible to just load Windows XP, etc on the new secondary disk at this time and the report on? Or I need to remove Adobe Creative Suite, MicroSoft Office, my pictures, etc., before I could load the operating system? I have a 60 GB external USB drive for backup of Documents and Settings.

Dell Dimension 4600 (Pentium 4 CPU 2 .8GHz, memory 3 GB RAM) running MS Windows Home XP, SP 3.

Any other good suggestions for the use of a Seconday drive in my case?

  • Can I replace Windows XP SATA drive in HP Compaq dc7600sff with old computer win98se IDE hard drive

I have a Compaq dc7600 I want to use to replace an old computer that I recovered the drive on.

The 7600 has a 80g ATA drive running Windows XP, but I want to remove it and get the older one with win98se and I need that I can't replace programs. I can adapt physically OK, bios hardware lists change, but does not start win98

    Hi Paul

I changed the SATA emulation settings combined and it worked well, but as you say, I had a hard time looking for drivers, but I found some that I couldn't find (for example sound/display) I adapted the old PCI cards, I had and this all works very well. It will certainly do the job I want.

Thanks for the reply and the solution

  • Qosmio G40 - Windows 7 64 bit and missing drivers

Hello.. recently, I upgraded my G40 for win7 64 bit and was very appalled by all the missing drivers.

    up to now

1 Cd/hd dvd drive - driver not supported on this product - it was when he was on vista 32 - now, I just get error in cd player. ??
2 tuner tv - no driver available
3 av controller - no driver available
acoustic silencer 4 - no driver available
5 finger printing software - driver installed - no hardware not found? It certainly has one... I'm looking to him.
6 - no available driver hdmi Control Manager
7 infrared driver driver - not available

some of these drivers I can do without - (finger print im not worried of 0, but the CD/HD DVD player is a real problem...)
IM normally reasonably well with all these drivers installed... but it seems there's not there... or they do not see the hardware... Please help.

As I see some Win7 64-bit drivers are available. For all the missing drivers are trying to use the Vista 64 bit drivers.
As far as I know free Win7 drivers are for upgrade only for Toshiba offers only important factors.
Have you ever tried to use Vista 64-bit drivers for lack of hardware components?

  • Problems after installing the second SATA drive in Windows 7

I just install a second SATA hard drive in Windows 7. Currently, I use only a processor AMD Athlon X 2 4800 with 3 GB of RAM, Windows 7 64 - bit, installed on a 400 GB Samsung SATA drive and have two (a pioneer and a Liteon) DVD burners.

System worked fine until I put in the new drive. Previously, I had hung as such discs: SATA1 was the existing 400Go drive, SATA2 and 3 were two DVD burners (don't ask me why, I have 2, will remove one of them, if that's the problem).

Installed the new HARD in the SATA4 drive. Booted up, saw the new drive in the BIOS, but Windows does not see it until I went to disk management, a drive letter assigned and formatted etc. Also, I swapped the drive letters so I had all of the HARD drive (I have my 400 GB split into two readers via the partition) and C: D: E: F: and G:, DVD players.

Started, began to transfer data from D: to the new E:, and Windows crashes. No message error, everything freezes. Need to reset, and then allow Windows to check for errors etc. Return to Windows, same case again. I swapped the SATA cables so that SATA1 and 2 are the HARD drives and SATA3 and 4 are DVD players. Reboot, same case.

What I am doing wrong? Or what should I do? I don't even have to start the transfer of data I just let WIndows running for 2 minutes and it automatically hangs again.

If someone could help me as soon as POSSIBLE please, it would be fantastic. Thank you!

I've been in contact with the provider, and Yes, that will take it back for Exchange. They gave me some ideas to try first, I'm going to do tonight; They asked me to check if the HARD disk is running on series complete ATA (SATA) mode and to enable the DMA if he asks me to. Otherwise, they said, try the fail-safe mode. Don't know if any of them are currently enabled etc but will find tonight.

All else fails, I take that back! Simply means a 3 hours trip to Melbourne to make...

Thanks again guys for your help.

    Michael.

  • Problem installing XP on Qosmio G50 with vista preinstalled

Hello everyone, just joined, and after a few navigation that I think will like this place.

I just purchased a Qosmio G50 10 with preinstalled Vista and I want to install XP on the second hard drive to have the double-boot. It starts good but after it finishes loading the drivers etc, it says "starting windows" and then I get a blue screen.

The installation CD is good. This laptop is new on the market and there is not much info on it.

Even Toshiba doesn't have drivers to download.

Read here and elsewhere indicates that a driver problem might be the cause, but I need help.
    Thank you.

As far as I know if you want to install Windows XP Home edition on the new laptop models, you MUST use Windows XP Home SP2 installations CD edition. Please test and validate the results.

  • Satellite Pro P200 - 17 c: Win XP won't load - installation of the SATA driver

    Hello

I have a satellite pro p200 - 17 c I've had good years, allways worked without any problem.

Last week when I booted the laptop, windows won't load and I find myself safe mode selection screen. No options whatsoever me to windows loading, I tried F8 and still nothing.

I tried the restore cd that reimagee the drive but I get the same thing, I tried a new hard drive, once again the same.

But if I try to load windows from an OEM to install that software does not because it is a sata drive and there is no floppy drive. I have an external floppy drive I use, but it is not known now.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Hello

Go to BIOS and set it to default settings.

In this case the SATA mode must be on AHCI. In this case the SATA drivers are required to install the Windows operating system. But as much as I know that Windows 7 already contains the SATA drivers if usually you don t had to add SATA drivers while OS installation the installation program.

However, here is a nice HowTo document that helps you add SATA drivers for Win XP installation disc.

I put t think you know what you're talking about.
I've visited the European driver of Toshiba page and yes I checked the L40 PSL48E and YES download area I found the SATA driver!

Intel Storage Manager contains the necessary SATA driver!

As you suggest, you can create a new Win XP CD and could include the SATA driver to this page using the nLite.
It of not complicated and gentle

  • Suspended at the end of the installation of Vista (pre SP1) - Sata drive problem - how do we install?

Hi, my Dell Studio Hybrid desktop is hang on installation (new installation on a formatted hard drive) from Vista to the installation step ends.  After much research it seems that it is a matter of pre Vista SP1 associated with SATA drive/drivers.  Installation crashes because the computer is looking for a driver on the CD-ROM that is not there.  Anyway I don't see a driver relavent in the cross-section of the hybrid (another computer have drivers under the SATA drives) and if I did I don't know when to add it (load the section of the driver during the installation process?).  Any help on this topic and how to proceed with the installation of vista would be much appreciated since I just lost my weekend to this.

    Hello

You are right that there is no drivers sata on your computer because you don't have that one hard drive go in the bios as described here .and put AHCI to IDE

    Integrated Peripherals

Allows you to enable or disable these integrated devices: HD Audio, Onboard LAN connector, Onboard LAN Boot ROMand side logo. Serial ATA Configuration can be set in IDE or AHCI mode.

then install your version of windows you should have no problem now.

    Good luck

  • Qosmio G50 - install dual boot?

I think buy A Qosmio G50 115 or 10 H and have the dual boot Vista/XP Pro installed.

My first question: is it possible on this laptop?

If understand dualboot means efficiently reinstall Vista and then installing XP Pro, which would be to remove all software delivered on the machine. Qosmio G10 manual (p77, 3-12) says that there is a Toshiba tools and Utilities CD ROM, from where you can restore the drivers and applications. However, the specifications for this Qosmio on Toshiba Europe site does not include such a CD ROM

Also (p76, 3-11) the manual says "use the recovery CD QosmioPlayer first then the recovery media product then for the restoration of the entire system. Otherwise the system will not work. »

This means - it is impossible to reinstall Vista without using the recovery CD?

Vista can be reinstalled on the computer, regardless of any software provided or what - "otherwise the system will not work.

If I use the recovery CD after reinstallation of Vista in a dual boot, is - that don't joke place the dual boot?

    Hello, Alan

Can you please make decision on thread that you want to discuss on your dual boot problem?
What is the meaning to post two identical threads?

  • Qosmio G50 - TV Tuner "not found service.

I recently bought a model Qosmio G50-420 2 days ago and I tried repeatedly to get the TV up and running, but every time WMC scans for services, there are not found.

I've updated the drivers from the Toshiba site and I even tried to use MediaPortal but this program is not all 'channels' either... and theres a "indicator signal strength' when trying to put in place channels and it displays nothing with all my devices (tv, fm tuner tuner, etc.).

I don't live in a rural area... How do I get all services?

I am running Vista Ultimate 64-bit btw.

    Hello

Qosmio G50-420 is not known to me are you sure it of a G50-420?
Check that the labels at the bottom of the unit there are few issues of model.

As far as I know that some Qosmio G50 models are equipped with the TV tuner, but this isn't the case with all the G50.
You should check if your G50 has been equipped with TV tuner.

In addition, it would be very interesting to know how connect you the G50 in order to watch TV on the laptop?
    A connect to a set-top box?

Please see the manual (page 155) for more details.
There are a few images and add information that might be useful!

    See you soon
