Question about Firewire Port on Satellite Pro P200

Can someone tell me if I can connect an audio interface (firewire) to the nearest port of the front on the left side of my P200?

A friend told me that I would need a port like this: [http://www.hardware-one.com/reviews/Yamaha8824FXZ/images/FirewireSocket.jpg] Although the port of P200 is smaller: [http://pix.crutchfield.com/lifestyle/2001/l4PinFirewireJack.jpeg]

The interface, I am considering buying this: [http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/page/shop/flypage/product_id/15527]

Welcome advice,

saibhir

Hello

I guess that the support of the Satellite Pro P200 4pol firewire (IEEE 1394) port.
Your external audio device supports firewire 6pol ports.
That's why you need a cable or an adapter which favour both standards firewire; 4pol and 6pol

I think a cable like this should help you connect audio devices for satellite Pro P200

  • Question about Vista performance on satellite Pro M70

I was wondering if anyone knew a lot about the performance of vista. For example, if you run a game under vista it run worse than in Xp because the operating system uses more than the power of the computer?

    Hello

For two weeks, I use Windows Vista on my Satellite Pro M70. The laptop is not Vista capable, but I am very satisfied. It works very well. I tried to install and play older games like Far Cry and IGI2. It works perfectly without any problems.

The set comes with 512 MB of RAM. As I said it works well, but I think that it will work much better with more RAM. I think I'll buy another 1 GB module. With 1.5 GB of RAM, I believe that the unit will operate like a rocket. :)

    Which laptop model you have?

  • Question about sound card on Satellite Pro L40

    Hello

I use a program called Sibelius and recommended an ASIO compatible sound card.
Can someone tell me if the sound in the satellite pro L40 series card is compatible ASIO?
If not I can plug a card external sound which is compatible and if so how can I turn off the internal sound card.

    Thank you

I really don't think not someone will be able to give you information about the ASIO compatibility, but I see no problem, that is if you want to use the external device. Card internal sound, you can disable it in Device Manager.

  • Question about upgrading RAM on Satellite Pro A100

    Hi all

I have a Satellite Pro A100 PSAACE I want to upgrade. I currently have 1 GB of RAM in two 512 MB modules. I looked on Crucial.com and he says I need DDR2 PC2 4200 module (240 pin DIMM), but of course, they want to sell their own stuff that only comes in 1 GB modules.
So, what is the maximum amount of RAM my computer can take? I would like to have more than 2 GB in order to make my page file smaller. Is 2 GB maximum I can put in?

To be honest, I read several threads where people were not so happy with the RAMs from crucial. In my opinion, you should spend your laptop with 2 x 1 GB RAM. With 2 GB of RAM, your laptop will work fine and I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

As recommendable modules, you must use either 1 GB (PA3411U-2M1G) or module recommended by Kingston.

  • Question about the partitions on satellite Pro L300-164

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 and it came with vista on the 1 74 GB partition and a data partition 73 GB but it has a folder called HARD drive recovery, but I want Vista to all of the 140 gb and have the recovery partition on a small partition of 4 GB for HARD drive recovery.

Is this possible without mucking up the HARD drive recovery?

No, is not possible, but that you can and should do is create recovery DVDs.
After doing this, you can remove this folder and organize partition how you want it to be.
Remember that you will lose the ability to install the operating system from the disk using F8 and repair my computer option.

If a problem occurs, you can install Vista using this recovery DVDs.
Please note: after installation of recovery, you will have the same structure divides again and all your saved data will be gone.

  • Question about DVD drive on Satellite Pro A200 PSAE7

Although the [Specification | http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/jsp/productPage.do?service=UK&PRODUCT_ID=131911] told my Sat - Pro A200 (PSAE7) comes with a drive DVD Toshiba, it is * NOT * installed in my machine. I tried to download what is called "dvdpl-20070807102909" (what is the program?) download from Toshiba site, but when I double-click on the "setup.exe" inside the application, Windows Vista says 'cannot install this application.

I also watched inside the recovery disc that comes with the laptop, but nothing obvious to click to install the drive appears.

Please what could someone help and tell me how to install this DVD player?

    It s a bit strange
On the European driver Toshiba page, I could find the Toshiba DVD player software.
It s version 1.10.06 DVD player
So I assume it must be preinstalled on the Toshiba laptop.

The restore CD that came with the laptop contains an image of Toshiba. This image should support Windows OS, all Toshiba driver, utility and software tools extra.
Please insert the recovery CD into the CD/DVD drive and boot from this CD.

This procedure will format the whole HARD drive and install the operating system again on the laptop.
After a new installation, please check if the Toshiba DVD player is available!

  • Recording on Satellite Pro P200

How can I connect an audio mixing table, record of my Satellite Pro P200? I have Cakewalk Sonar.
    Thank you!

    Hello

If you want to do this on a professional path you should look for more information on the net and maybe check some forums on the audio/video support. These things have nothing to do with specific for laptop or desktop manufacturers.
As Homer written you can use an audio cable and connect it to the microphone port on your desktop. I don't know how it will work with your software. You can also use external devices like this.

As I've written before, use Google and see what others wrote about the experiences in various media forums.

  • Satellite Pro P200: network connectivity is not stable

I have a Satellite Pro P200, which was downgraded from Vista to XP Pro SP3 corporate.

I use a sensitive enough network application that will crash when network connectivity is lost.
This application has been blocking a lot since I downgraded to XP, so I tried to run a continuous ping that gave rise to many messages Request Timed Out (the maximum number of attempts where I actually had ongoing responses was about 30 but is usually much less).

I use the driver downloaded from the Support from Toshiba site (Realtek RTL8139/810 x Family Fast Ethernet Nic - v5.664.205.2007), wireless network works fine, tried to connect to the network using a cable and a port different without change, and using a different laptop with the same cable and port works fine.

The yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager is a memory PCI controller which I believe is for the Intel Turbo Memory, because it is not compatible with Windows XP.

Any ideas what could be the cause.
I tried reinstalling the driver several times without success, it is likely to be software partners or could it be a hardware failure?

I think it's related software and troublemaker is SP3. Test it with SP2 only and it will work perfectly. Friend of mine noticed permanent data LAN transfer interruptions after installing SP3. Remove everything works well again.

  • Satellite Pro P200 won't start

I have an old 1 week per Satellite Pro P200, it turns off when I was just in the start menu, so I was not doing something out of the norm (power cable is plugged). Since then it just won't turn.

With the connected power cable I have an electric blue, power battery and light (although attempts to restart about 2 the battery light was red, but now blue). The drive light flashes for about 3 seconds each time I try to start and I can hear something happening inside the machine, but after only 3 seconds... nothing, completely dead.

I tried to remove the battery, wait 20 minutes or more and none of it worked. Anyone have any ideas?

Seems to be definitely a hardware problem... very bad :(
Why you visit your dealer for new laptop and ask for Exchange.
Maybe the dealer will exchange the laptop with a new.

If this isn't the case, then you must contact the service provider authorized in your country for assistance.
If you have purchased an extra service on the spot then the technician you will visit at home and will try to solve this problem.

    Good luck

  • Installation of Windows XP on Satellite Pro P200

    Hi guys,.

I have a problem installing Windows XP Home SP2 (listen Slip) edition in my new Satellite Pro P200 with 2-120 GB hard drives. The vehicle currently has windows vista professional. I followed this link to a similar question on this site: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2101&OS FullName = Windows * + XP + Professional & lang = eng & strOSs = 44 & submit = Go % 21 and created disk Intel Matrix Storage manager so that I could use "F6" to install the RAID drivers during the installation of XP.

I got to the point where I was able to recognize the hard drive and I was able to select the partition where I wanted to install WXP. Once the NTFS partition has been selected and formatted, Windows XP Home edition Setup prompted me to insert "Intel Matrix Storage" diskette into the A: drive. I have this drive in my floppy USB drive.

However he didn't even read the disc. Hard drive never turned on when I pressed the enter"" key. It seemed as if the installer froze, however I was able to push "F3" to exit the installation program. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? Is the USB problem?

    Help, please!

  • Satellite Pro P200-HD: how to use it with Win XP

Recently, I received the new Satellite Pro P200 HD of Getech. I asked Getech to change the XP operating system because my University will not support Vista. I was told that some features are lost with XP, such as the hot key utility and I agreed to go ahead.

However, I was not informed that the sound is scratchy and the video will behave as if I play a scratched CD.
It is true with windows sounds as well. I was not able to enjoy the music or video. I have all the drivers updated and the new Bios XP released recently has been updated.

Please does anyone know someone using this model with XP as an operating system with the sound and video works properly?
This would mean that I was sold a laptop with a defective sound equipment and should get a replacement because I had this problem from day one.

Thanks for the help in advance.

    How about this:

There, you might choose the satellite Pro P200 to download XP drivers

  • Satellite Pro P200 - 1KE Vista loses contact with the second internal HARD drive

Vista Business SP2. I have a Satellite Pro P200-1KE, with two 160 GB drives: a Hitachi configured as C: (operating system, programs, etc.) and E: (data, other programs). The second is a Toshiba MK1637GSX. This little about it and nothing of any importance and is normally configured as d. Unfortunately this hard drive has now become invisible to Vista, although it is still recognized by BIOS and Device Manager. In managing computer does not appear in the list in the upper pane, it comes without a letter from reader below. I have tried everything I know to get recognized, including the following:
    (In no particular order):

    * Remove computer - managed, reset as a single Volume: it always fails
    * Reformat to NTFS using Linux GParted or utility disk Linux (via a USB stick with Linux ice Peppermint on that nerd), sometimes combined with the restoration of the system - it works, but only for a single session. She always disappears again when you restart
    * Remove the driver from Device Manager and pointing plug-and-play with Windows System 32 and Windows Update - which seems to return the driver - but does not recognized disk, unfortunately
    * Meanwhile, throughout all this, Vista insists on finding a driver for "unknown device" that she sometimes found and (allegedly) installs and sometimes find one fails to install.

    Bah!

Anyone know anything else I can try - preferably without having to reinstall the entire operating system, or run the risk of using Toshiba Hardware Setup that does not seem to come with all the instructions and enigmatic, who wonder if I want to delete stuff 'selected', without showing me what kind of things I am alleged to have selected for removal!

    Best
    David

If this second HDD is not so important to try to start the original installation disk Microsoft (Vista or Win7) to see if the second HDD will be recognized for the installation procedure.
You can also try to install Win7 on this second HDD to see if the installation is correctly finalized. Later, you can check if you can start the second HARD drive preinstalled OS.

Test just to see if this problem is related to Vista only.

  • Satellite Pro P200: Change the size of partition in Vista?

Is it possible to adjust the size of the partition after installing?

I have a Satellite Pro P200 with a shared about HARD disk:

C: Vista partiton - 17 GB of free to 56 GB
E: partition of data of-54 GB of free to 55 GB

I know that the data reader is used by Vista to contain information of recovery.

However, I would like to know if its possible to reallocate some of its spare production capacity at the Vista drive without compromising the recovery feature?

Of course, you can change the size of the partitions after Vista installation.

You can change this in the Vista Disk Manager s

Here, you could choose the existing partition, and then you could reduce the amount of partitions. This free volume can be added to another partition, or you can create another partition.
