Question about Mac Mini

Hello

I have currently a crashed early 2011 MacBook Pro 15 "and have a friend who has a very good condition, as the new Mac Mini 2012 for $300. The Mac Mini has 4 GB of RAM and 500 GB of storage. My MBP has 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB storage.

They told me I could swap the Mini drive/RAM for what is in my MBP and save money. Is this true?

Thank you

Michael

It is not for the faint-hearted...

  • Windows 7 starts questions about mac and office 2010 following an installation

It's a long cut as short as vent. I've been miss sold a record of upgrade of windows 8 full disk-shaped, with norton and office 2010. My goal of creating windows on my mac for a course I'm taking. After that know I need windows 7, I bought it online. I created a partition of 80g on my mac charge windows 7, then norton. Until I loaded the office that I was invited to perform the update from apple in the windows software 7. Note before I installed norton, I load boot camp mac utilities according to the instructions. So, followed by all as should be. The prompt update from apple was quick time, iTunes and airport, I checked all and then updated. Then I loaded office 2010 and obtained throughout the process from the Microsoft site. On the last part of the installation, the installation failed due to a mistake of hanging iTunes. I tried again and again, I fixed the update to iTunes to add and remove the section of windows. Then, I got different errors. I decided to remove the whole score without uninstalling all programs again. When I get to the windows live, that this falls priming. I get various error messages whenever I try to start the process. • Very simple question about Mac and find out which version of the player

Hi, really quick here for Mac or Mac users familiar question: How can I find which version of Reader is installed on a Mac? It should be of Mac OSX. I'm just so incompatible Mac (and the guy using it is not fine with it) and I don't know where to look?

    Thanks a bundle

Mac does not come with Adobe Reader, they come with a program called Preview. The best way to know which version is on a given computer is to ask the owner! If the owner does not know that they can select the file and then on the file menu or by typing the command - I they can activate the command read information that will produce a window with the version information and much more.

  • Question about mac OS Sierra

I have a MacBook Pro for mid-2012.  I bought it in 2015 because, in my case, I wanted the terabyte of hard disk, and it worked perfectly for what I wanted to.  I tried to decide if it would be useful to upgrade to Sierra.  From what I see, the main features are Siri, updated Messenger to level, being able to connect using the Apple Watch and the ability to access your desktop from your phone because everything is stored in iCloud.  To really get the feature for Sierra, I should have the same amount of space iCloud I pay for every month?  I think this through properly?

What do you mean by: "I should have the same amount of space iCloud I pay for every month? '?

In addition, your Mac does not support Apple Watch unlock since yo need a Mac 2013 or later version

I installed another copy on Windows 7 today, why has this problem of catalog? I was told that I can use on both machines at least.

Help, please. This is the type of emergency.

  • Curious about operating a business on Mac Mini

    Hello

I want to start a debate (I hope a good).

I am a serial entrepreneur but my goal set on IT Support for the past two years. I used a combination of devices on this time, but more recently, an Early 2011 MacBook Pro 15 "(mis à jour depuis 4Go RAM/500Go HD 16 Go RAM/1 to Solid State hybride)." This computer went down on me a few months before, so I'm using (until I can afford to replace) using my iPhone 6 more (64 GB) and my iPad 3 (32 GB) to run my business.

My question and I want to see the experience of you guys, that's what it would look like to continue to use my iPhone/iPad for the mobile aspect of my business (travel to customers) and use a Mac Mini for any research, diagnostic, etc., purposes of marketing/design? I have said (and this asked in another post) that I could swap my MacBook Pro HD/RAM out and put it in the Mini. I have been corrected later about the RAM, which is very good to buy more RAM.

    What think you of all?

    Thank you

    Michael

do not operate your business as a task that requires a resource very for a computer really

4 k video edition and edition of images modeling or 3d very very very high resolution are demanding tasks

and again yes 4 GB is slow for more recent versions of Mac OS x

  • End of 2012 Mac Mini running slow - about to try the following

    Hi all

The performance of my Mac Mini is trying to drop off and looking for possible solutions to this, I can in this thread: Mac Mini (end 2012) is a little slow.

A few months ago I updated to El Capitan, and am now on 10.11.3.  Since this update, my system performance fell substantially. I would like to see if I can get my Mini for best results there lately.  One of the questions I think contributes to the Mini, less than excellent performance is my router configuration because of environmental constraints, my Mini has 2 walls and about 50 feet, which separates it from the wireless router.  Currently, I don't think that there is something I can do to help that issue, so for now, I put that side.

In reading the above thread, I have also still only 4 original GB or RAM and the original supplied with my Mini.

    RAM: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

HD: I have not changed the HD that came with the mini, so I guess I have the 2.5 GHz 500 GB (5400 RPM) hard drive it is stated in the specifications.

Lately, I noticed Chrome running progressively slower (to the point of frustration).  Therefore, I uninstalled Chrome and returned using Safari.  As more and more, I use Safari, I think that his performance is what it is.  I tried the Brave and my experience with it is mixed (at least on this point).

Question: I guess the first thing to do is to increase my RAM to 4 GB - and I will order the RAM here in a moment.  What browser is best to use in this case: Chrome? Safari? Brave? Something else?  Or it is better to run through all these during the upgrade of RAM is installed?

Let me start with that and I will update this thread as mandate experience.  Thanks in advance for any help and / or thoughts.

  • Mac mini (late 2012) flashing - question mark folder recovery does not work

    Hi all

earlier today, I upgraded my Mac mini (end 2012) to the latest version of macOS Sierra.

After 1 hour of use, I realized that many of my plugins FCPX were not working.

I contacted the developers, and they said does not update the plugins and they told me to go back to El Capitan.

I decided to listen to them and try to downgrade my OS.

I restarted the Mac and held down Cmd - R or something like that that took me to the disk utility screen.

Then I went down to dinner, and when I returned 30 minutes later my Mac had entered the sleep mode for some reason any.

I woke up the Mac and 40 seconds later the power went out for 5-10 minutes.

After the blackout, I restarted my Mac that took me to a black screen with a flashing question mark folder.

I followed some tutorials online (including how to enter get - and the recovery of internet mode), but after a while even restoration of the internet shows me the flashing question mark folder.

I don't know what to do.

And no - unfortunately I don't have a Time Machine backup.

But I have a backup with all my most important files.

Is it possible to force the Mac to reset itself or something like that?

    Help, please.

    Best regards

    Filip

by pressing Command + Option + R at the start of the OS X Internet Recovery*.

and go to disk utility and repair the startup disk?

If repairable, the startup disk to format and install OSX via recovery. you install Mountain Lion or dependent Mavericks when the Mac was made. Then OSX you want.

  • A few questions about installing Windows on a Mac

    Hello world.

I'm considering installing Windows on my 2006 iMac. I have a few questions I was hoping you might be able to help me with that. I know that this machine will run Windows 7 or 8, in terms of system resources, but probably doesn't have the RAM for 10.

The girl has reached Apple Obsolescence and no longer can be upgraded to newer versions of Mac OS. Unfortunately, this also means that she can not get the latest version of iTunes and don't talk to my phone. But she still my entire library of music.

I know that used at least iTunes is available on Windows, but I seem to remember that they took it. Y at - it an option to put my iTunes music on an iPhone 6 in a Windows environment? I don't mind if I need to convert files or otherwise work for her. I have just a few old out-of-print stuff that I really miss being able to listen to anywhere other than my office.

I'm pretty much stuck with versions before 10, due to the RAM thing. Honestly, I haven't used Windows since around 1998, with the exception of a terminal XP at work, so I don't know much about it. Any recommendation on which version is the best? And I can buy a copy online directly from Microsoft?

If I would be better off buying a new laptop for very cheap, it is also a possibility. But my Mac still works well, despite not being not supported for updates, and I hate wasting perfectly good material. I just don't have the money for another Mac right now.

  • Apple TV with Mac Mini question

I'm looking into getting an older Mac mini to use as a server for my 4th generation, Apple TV, when I went with my laptop.  I understand that El Captain can be installed in a Mac Mini it's early 2009 or earlier, but since I don't use it as a computer I'm not to care of that!  I was wondering if anyone new how old of a Mac Mini, I could get and have even the Apple TV to be able to see the Mac mini as a server with my media in the iTunes library.  I didn't know that if this type of connection would be lost forever, but wanted to make sure before you buy.  I guess the Min Mac must have at least an Intel processor.

  • ST2310, questions of wake powersave, mac mini

Friends I have a Dell ST2310 monitor that I have connected to a Mac Mini via HDMI. In recent weeks, the monitor will not display on wake up! The light in front yellow after 3 minutes of non-use and my MAC goes to sleep. No problem. When I hit the keyboard MAC wakes up, my ST2310 lights white, BUT nothing happens, no display, screen stays black. Now, sometimes it goes sometimes, this isn't. I unplug the monitor, wait a bit, then plug it in, monitor works. This has happened in recent weeks. Could go the monitor? Any test I could do? Used to work properly for years, now this. Any suggestions?

    Mike

When you subsequently upward, you can try to disconnect the HDMI mini cable end, then by plugging it to the mini. This should force the mini to reset the connection on its side. In addition, test the ST2310 on another computer. Preferably a windows desktop computer since us do not test on apple.
