Question about the BIOS upgrade for Windows

I tried to update my BIOS M200 of 1,20 to 1,80 using the Windows version. Error is telling me that I am not an authorized user. I am local and all administrator requirements ar fullfilled readme.
What can be the problem? I don't want to use the upgrade disk.
Thank you

Hello

As far as I know you can only update the BIOS with the compatible reader.
Check this Toshiba document which drives are compatible

Yes, the registration period is between June 2, 2012 to January 31, 2013.

Yes, the Upgrade Wizard of Windows 8 will allow you to create a bootable DVD or you can grab the ESD file and save it.

Yes and there are better ways to reinstall Windows 8 without using the installation disc, you can use the reset and refresh.

These steps will take you through refreshing your PC:

    · Press the Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the charms (if you use a touch screen: touch the right edge of your screen and drag your finger to the left)

    · Click settings

    · Click change PC settings

    · Click general in the left column

    · Under refresh your PC without affecting your files, click Start

Then follow the instructions that will be provided on-screen to cool your PC.

As long as you have a recovery disk which you should create or use the construction in the recovery partition, Yes, it will self activate.

  • Update the BIOS? for Windows 8 + Recovery CD/DVD

    I have 2 questions.

    1. when I ran the auditor of update of Windows 8 (from the upgrade to Windows 8 Email)

He told me that the BIOS was not supported for some kind of safe mode and windows would not be

    start-up, according to the message.

So, I can always install it? Since I've upgraded to the latest Bios 1 I think

2 Will it be a HP disk, if I can create a set of recovery?  or do I just burn the ISO from MS Windows and separate drivers?

    Thank you

Hello pka4916. I see that you have questions about upgrading to Windows 8. Here is the official information from HP about upgrades of Windows 8

Secure boot is a new feature in the BIOS and Windows 8 is designed to take advantage of that. Basically, Secure Boot prevents you to install "prevent" (unsigned) hardware or operating system to the PC. This is designed to provide increased security against malicious software such as rootkits. If your PC does not support in its Secure Boot BIOS you will not have this protection. The operating system should always work. Note, however, that if your laptop doesn't have drivers available for all devices some features may not work (see the link above about HP and upgrade to Windows 8) but lack of Secure Boot should not ask you questions.

I hope this has been helpful!

EM is not configured for this database

Which points to the control of stand-alone database (dbconsole). I'm not so familiar with DBUA, it could be THAT DBUA try to configure default dbconsole. But you have not need of a database repository gridcontrol, still more, such a data base should not have a repository dbconsole. So you can ignore the error message.

He is the agent who speaks with the WHO and the repository database, so you should follow the instructions in the present note metalink inform the agent about the changes:

On the net I found a support:
-to take a USB stick to start UPDATING the necessary BIOS!

    Or another way?

And to make the BIOS update it's complikation work?

    Thanks for your interest

    Hello

could you please show me the site where you found that information that you can boot from USB on a Satellite 4340 after the upgrade of the BIOS. In my view, this is IMPOSSIBLE since this machine is too old and the cams to USB boot first option with the Pentium M based machines, but before... NO LUCK.

If you like show me this site/forum/it either where it is written that you can use a USB device to boot from it and I'll try to help you verify that the information you gave is correct...

  • Updates to the BIOS/driver for Windows 7?

I bought my desktop HP Pavilion Elite m9152p on computer a year ago and I had a few problems at the start.  I bought a retail upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 and I did a clean install, but it was the same thing before on Vista Ultimate x 64.  Sometimes when I turn on my PC, it won't really do anything--sometimes I hear a beep POST, but there is nothing displayed on screen.  I turn my PC off, wait a minute or two and try to feed it upwards.  If it doesn't, I just repeat until it finally works.  Now my PC will hang on to the blue HP bios screen and just stay there.  The version of the bios on the screen is v5.25 and drivers of HP Support & shows a v5.36 available for download, but it will not install on my Windows 7 operating system.  I tried to run it in Windows Vista SP2 compatibility mode, but nothing helped.  I'm NOT GOING to restore my PC to Vista using my recovery disks, or with the help of my Vista Ultimate retail discs just to install a BIOS update day and then reformat/reinstall Windows 7 again.

Is there a way to run the updates to the BIOS 'Vista' only and other drivers on my Windows 7 computer?  HP will release updated drivers Windows 7-compatible and updates soon

    HP Pavilion Elite m9152p - Intel Core2Quad Q6600 @2. 4 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 2 TB of disk HARD, Radeon HD 5770, Windows7 x 64

While I don't guarantee it not works - Vidya had the right idea, but you need a little more information.

Start running the softpaq, go beyond the opening screen with details, etc., then when it you ask to perform the update, stop (but do not close the screen).

go to BACK - using the Administrator option

    type the following command

    CD folder

find a folder with the AFUWIN. File EXE and CHDIR to the name of the temp folder

    ex: dir/s AFUWIN. EXE

    then

    CHDIR tempfoldername

Then, perform the AFUWIN update with the information behind it:

    AFUWIN BEN5.32/b/p/c

It should finish and then you can restart after you close the Softpaq.

No guarantee that it will solve your problem-, but which should enable the BIOS update to run.

  • How to prevent the automatic upgrade for Windows 10

Press reports say that Microsoft will 'soon' 10 Windows upgrade recommended for Windows 7, leading to the automatic download and installation.  I don't want that.  I have upgraded to Windows 10, then returned to 7 (leaving an extra 100 GB of something on my hard drive).  I intend to hold out until the last minute, and perhaps later.

So, how to prevent this scheduled automatic upgrade?  Do I have to turn off updates in Windows 7 and manually review every update?  What I read who cannot help because Microsoft does not offer as much detail about the upgrades as in the past.

Computers were a hobby for me in 1980.  After 35 years the computers are now a tool and their maintenance is a chore.  I'll learn Windows 10 when I need to and not before.  I really don't want to use 10 at home and at work 7.  When my employer upgraded, so I will.

    Hello DilbertFan,

For the first year that Windows 10 is out, he will be free to users with a license for Windows 7 or 8.1.

If you don't know that you do not want to update then please copy the text following that I have which is in italics below and paste it into Notepad.

The Publisher of the registry Windows Version 5.00[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Gwx]"DisableGwx"=dword:00000001

Once you have that then go ahead and save it to your desktop and save it under "block 10" or something like that. ""

Return to your desktop and locate this file and change the extension from .txt to .reg file

Save it, and then double-click the file. It is to modify the registry to block the upgrade of Windows 10. I use a lot.

  • Question about the subscription renewal for vSphere lab Essentials home

First post on the forum here.  My apologies if this isn't the right place for a question like this.

I have a lab at home that I have set up using the "VMware vSphere 5 Kit Essentials" that I had bought on the VMware online store.  It was a pretty fun because it let me familiarize themselves with the technology that I use at work without the same consequences for the mistakes of the project.

To be honest though, I have never much thought about support and subscriptions for it... Setup should really just have to learn and be the main server for my house projects.  The cost for me to buy the Kit of Essentials has been a little more than $500 a year ago, and it seems that my still currently active subscription (my account displays "subscription only" for the Essentials Kit) allows me to download the latest patches and maybe even upgrade to a new major version in the future.  I would like to continue the subscription, as this seems to be more profitable that leave on the subscription and then renew... compared to the initial $ 500, a one or three year renewal looks pretty good - and I'd get to continue to be on the latest versions of the vSphere Essentials.

I thought it would be as simple as clicking on renew somewhere on my account, but that begins to not look like an option.  I think that I am driven to get in touch with a business partner for the subscription renewals (is this sounding right?).  This seems a bit much for me for a small laboratory at home like mine.  Is the only way to renew a subscription via a partner company?  If I'm completely off track here, please let me know.  If I'm here, does anyone know (or recommend) a partner company that manages small renewals as mine would be?

Maybe I'm hesitant for nothing, but I thought I would ask those who understand the subscription and support better than me.

Thank you very much for the help!

    Dan

To answer my own question, I discovered that for users with contracts less than $3,000... is it possible to make a renewal online without the need to go through a partner.  It turns out that the link to the online renewal page is available through the 60, 30, 15 days notice in advance of the emails that are sent to the holder of the account (which is how I found it).  The page renewal me related to this FAQ PDF that I found useful.  I was able to successfully renew my subscription from the link.

    http://www.VMware.com/files/PDF/myvmware/VMware-online-renewals-FAQs-en.PDF

The important bits for me were the following (from the FAQ):

    ====

Q: clients access renewals online from VMware.com or My VMware?

A: access to the online renewal platform is by a "direct link" sent to clients through the electronic communication of renewal.

Q: when VMware will send me the link of renewal online?

R: the link for customers to renew online will appear on reminders e-mail sent 60-30-15 days prior to the expiration of the contract.

Q: can customers renew all contracts renewal online?

A: customers will be able to renew those contracts to a total value of less than $3,000 USD only. Customers will have the option of

move to a higher level of service, or a longer term, as you wish.

Hope that helps future lab home amateurs like me.

  • HP Pavilion dv4-1120br: doubts about the BIOS update for my model with the operating system current instaled.

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion dv4-1120br, I know that this model of HP laptop is old, but I instaled the 64 bit of Windows 10 on my machine and saw that my BIOS is version F.30 and the last of them available on the site of HP F.66 has.

The problem is that this model is not suport for Windows 10 because, as I said, is too old. Can I download and run the update of the BIOS for Windows 7 64-bit available in the Web site, or I need to downgrade my OS to Windows 7, update the BIOS and then pass it back to Windows 10?

    Thanks for the help!

    Cantarino

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

Your second proposal is correct - as the updates to the BIOS on the HP site are specific to the OS version and if you try to run one for Win7 in Win10, it will refuse to run.

    Good luck

  • Question about the Bios Tecra 8100 2.5

    Hello
I installed the latest version of the Bios on my tecra 8100. My Question is, what is the maximum size of hard drive for these phones? Now I have 13 GB hard drive, but I want to have a bigger. And 512 MB of Ram is the maximum, right (2x256mb)? Can I adjust the size of the videoram?

In my view, the tecra 8100 is a laptop very well.

    Greetings,
    Stephan

    Hi Stephan

You are absolutely right. 512 MB of RAM is max for this pretty portable. If you want to buy more RAM I will suggest you that a PC100 256 MB (PA3051U-1NME). This RAM is tested and working properly with your device.

Sorry, but video RAM is not possible to extend. And now something on the HARD drive. Unfortunately there is no documents where you can find information like this, but I know very well that here should not be a problem with 30 or 40 GB of HARD drive.

I wish you lots of fun with this laptop old but nice.

    Hello

We are about to upgrade our environment vsphere 4.1 and 5.1. I have a question regarding the upgrade of the vcenter server. Today, we have installed SQL SERVER 2005 Express database and what I get when I run the setup I will be invited to install 2008 r2 express or use the existing database. I guess I picked the new installation 2008 r2 express database? This will keep my DB inventory and just install the new DB SSO and tables?

I read that you need to run som aswell from the installation CD SQL queries but are - that if you choose the existing database?

    hope you understand

If you are doing a new installation of 51u1/5.1, the DB that is installed is 2k8R2 express... However, on the update from versions 4.x 2 k 5 db is preserved.

  • Question about the CS5 upgrade paths

I bought a copy of Creative Suite 2 education for Windows some time ago, but never recorded the CD key in my Adobe account. The program, as far as I know, is never disabled correctly (computer - FRY mounted sudden power aren't fun) and I've never bothered trying to reactivate the program again.

Well, turns out that I will buy Creative Suite 5 soon, and I was wondering if I can use my old license education upgrade to Creative Suite 5 at retail. I watched the tool of upgrade eligibility on this site, and while he said CS2 qualified for an upgrade, it did not mention if the education licenses have been accepted.

I think that I also have an educational copy of Photoshop CS2 that I never used since I was the Creative Suite 2 at the same time. Could I use for detail of the Creative Suite 5 upgrade too?

    Thanks for your help!

Yes you can use it. The upgrade of the suite is much cheaper than the upsell of the individual product. Education versions with full rights to level of detail. You will need the serial number for verification during the installation of CS5. Your timing is pretty good, too.

CS2 is the oldest version that you can upgrade. In case you're interested, Amazon has a great deal on the CS2 to CS5 Design Premium Upgrade: http://amzn.to/eJQziD
