Question about the extended warranty

Hello
I got my satellite pro of the United Kingdom, but I'm not living in the city. I am trying to buy the extended warranty, but all sites require a card credit UK address. I contacted the dealer in Egypt who said I have to buy UK not the Egypt, is this true? and how can I buy one?

Hi Ali

As far as I know, you can buy the extended warranty in the country where you bought your laptop. Maybe try to contact authorized service partner in the United Kingdom and ask if you can buy it here. Money transfer should not be problem and the small box with the assurance that they can send you by mail.

  • Question about the extended warranty on Satellite A300-1EI

    Nice day.
I need to some information and help please.
I bought a laptop around mid September 2008 in Saudi Arabia. (Jarir Bokstore). The store had a promotion whereby you get the standard one year international warranty, BUT they give you a further extension of one year (so 2 years in total).
I intended to have bought an extended warranty for a period of three years. The seller told me that I can activate my warranty 'gift' and later buy another warranty extendable to a total of 4 years international coverage.

I signed the guarantee and it appears on the portal of warranty toshiba.
However, when I returned to the store to buy a new extended warranty told me that you cannot register more than one warranty.
I found it strange and therefore did not buy the extended warranty still additional. I need to know if it's actually true, or I'll always be able to buy an extended warranty again. Seems that I meet a brick wall, when I ask the salemen... .thought I would try the forum instead.

I need to get information from a reliable and trustworthy source.
The other news, they also gave me, is that they are waiting for news from Toshiba regarding the same subject.

    Kindly help.
I thank you and looks forward to a response.

    Hello

AFAIK all Toshiba laptops are covered under warranty for one year (12 months).
If you would register your laptop on the Europe of Toshiba page you would get more than one year warranty; total 2 years warranty.

    > The store had a promotion whereby you get the standard one year international warranty, BUT they give you a further extension of one year (so 2 years in total).
The additional year of warranty is not a gift from the shop. You will get this additional year warranty always if you would register the laptop. It has nothing to do with the place where you purchase this laptop.

So now, a few words about your warranty extensions.
First, you will need to register your laptop on the Europe of Toshiba page.
This registration will allow the second extra year of warranty. (as mentioned above)
Now if you want you can buy even more extended.

Toshiba offers various packages and in your case I would recommend to check this Toshiba Europe page for more details:

  • Qosmio F60 - Question about the extended warranty

I just purchased a Qosmio F-60 (I am based in the Kenya) and after registration the laptop - my "registration form", says:

    Free warranty updated: SE5003E-B
EMEA from 1 to 3 years warranty extension

I checked on the "Details of the unit" section web site (www.toshiba-tro.de/unit-details) and it says that it is "extended warranty" "1 to 3 years. I just wanted to confirm that the laptop has now guaranteed for 3 years and what level of guarantee? Every bit of equipment?

    Thank you.

    Hi mate

Firstly that there is a user forum and I doubt that anyone here in the forum could confirm your warranty status.
But anything you need you can find on the page mentioned; unitdetails.
Here you can see the details of the warranty, and when it was recorded.

But if you have doubts, you can also check this page:

  • Satellite L850-Y3110 - Question about the international warranty

I bought a portable Satellite L850-Y3110 in India that has an international warranty.
There is a problem with it now, it's the cd drive is broken and I took it to an authorized to Newcastle service center.

Need the driver cd to replace, but now Im says that Toshiba usually give the cause of the part I did not but he to the United Kingdom, and the person told me to go back to the place where I bought and the fix here, I won't go there any time soon, so it's out of the option.

My question is what is the point of the international interest if it won't be such an inconvenience.

When I bought a laptop that I wanted one that would guarantee internationally because Im student out of the country for education, that's why I bought this one because it has international warranty and my laptop is still under warranty international.

    What should I do now?

    Hello

I m not very well on portable computers sold in India, but cell phones sold in Europe are covered with at least 1 year standard warranty, valid from the date of purchase
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/services/standard-warranty/

This warranty does not cover repairs in other countries, but in case of hardware malfunction, you must visit the authorized service provider in the country where you made the purchase.

To get the international warranty coverage you must buy an extended international warranty: details here http://www.toshiba.eu/services/warranty-extension/

In the case where the international interest has been registered for your laptop, the ASP to the United Kingdom should be able to repair the laptop in international warranty conditions.

  • Question about the battery warranty

    Hello

I own a satellite L300 and with everest, I discovered that my 10 month battery has a capacity of 12% loss.
It is still under the 1 year warranty.
I searched everywere and I couldn't find specific conditions for warranty Toshiba battery, so I want to know if it qualifies for replacement.

    Thank you.

In my opinion these questions, you should clarify with the nearest Toshiba service provider.
If you have some physical problems then service is the right place where you can ask for help advice and expert.

By the way: I don't think that tool Everest is relevant for the verification of the hardware features.

    Hello

    1. I have this message when I try to play a dvd: video not available, cannot find decompressor "Vid.iv32."

    2. in the extended warranty, I wonder for "Contract number", where I get this.

    (1) possibly, you use a DVD player software that doesn t supports the video file or you have not installed a necessary codex.

    (2) use this page www.toshiba-tro.de/unitdetails/

  • X201purchased - question about 3 years warranty extension

Ordered a 201 X about three weeks through Lenovo online as well as a base for 3 years warranty extension. Have had the laptop for two weeks, no problems so far.

When I checked my status of the guarantee on the website, it is only showing the standard 1 year warrantly, for example. my warranty ends on Sept-2011.

Obviously, I'm going to need to call customer service to get the problem fixed, but my question is, is the 3-year warranty extension I bought 3 additional years of coverage added to 1 year warranty by default, for example. my warranty would end on seven-2014 or is the extended warranty only for a total of 3 years, which means that the coverage would end the seven-2013?

Thanks in advance for any clarification on this.

It takes approximately 2 to 4 weeks for warranty upgrade to show through.

average of 3 years 3 years total, not 1 + 3 years upgrade.

  • Satellite Pro P100: The extended warranty is not available?

Hi, just about to buy a Satellite Pro P100, but when we look at the warranty I don't see this pattern on the list machines covered by the extended warranty available at Toshiba.

    Any ideas?

It makes me a little nervous if Toshiba does not cover this model for extended warranty.

    Hello

Did you mean Satellite Pro P100 or Satellite P100-xxx?
I asked it because I don t find any laptops Satellite Pro P100 on the Toshiba site. Only Satellite P100-xxx are available and these books are very new. Maybe you checked the list of bad guaranteed?

PS: I can t believe that the extended warranty is not available on this device.

  • Question about the pen tool (w / photo inside)

Hi all! I have a question about the pen tool. I think that this picture is very useful for my question:

    Demonstration.jpg

So in this pic is an orange rectangle, and within this rectangle is a blue strip. I would like the blue band surface perfectly (not too much and not covered) the edge of the rectangle. For example, on the lower end of the blue band, you can clearly see that the band does not extend quite far to the edge of the orange rectangle. At the top of the band, he's a little more (a little hard to see). I work with some complex shapes when you use the pen tool and it's really slow me down to compensate for over/under Forms. If she could just snap to the borders of the other forms that would make my life a lot easier. Thanks for reading and please help!

Duplicate the orange shape and change the fill color to blue. Draw your new shape on that layer, using the Intersect option.

  • A few questions about the difference between the Satellite P70, L70, S70

    Hello, I have a lot of questions about the P70, L70, S70 series that come with a 1920 x 1080 panel.

    (1) what are the differences between the L70 and S70 series? With the exception of the RAM and HARD drive capacity, books seem pretty identical.

    (2) P70, L70, S70 doesn't support a 2nd HARD drive or it's just the P70 series that support?

    (3) all the three (P70, L70, S70 series) come with the same TFT panels?

    (4) of the above series, which supports mSata?

    (5) all the model of each series are delivered with support from mSata? For example, it could be that L70 - a - 13 m supports mSata is not the case of the L70-a-146?

    (6) all the foregoing, are delivered with a S - ATA II or III S - ATA interface?

    (7) who is the best of these series listed? I'm trying to understand what makes the big difference of S70 to P70 except for the envelope for example.

    Thank you in advance.

    > (1) what are the differences between the series L70 and S70? With the exception of the RAM and HARD drive capacity, books seem pretty identical.

What models Sat L70 and S70 do you mean exactly? There are different L70-xxx-xxx and S70 models on the market that supports different hardware specifications.

    (> S70 2) P70, L70, support a 2nd drive HARD or is - it just the series P70 that support?
As you can see in this [Sam P70 HDD replacement document, | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/CRU3903II0000R01.htm] the P70 series supports the 2nd drive Bay HARD, BUT even if there is a 2nd HARD drive Bay, this does not mean that you can use the 2nd HARD drive. In the case where the 2nd HARD drive Bay are equipped with HARD drive connector, you can use the 2nd HARD drive

I also found the [Sam L70/S70 HDD replacement | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/CRU3703HG0000R01.htm] the document on the Toshiba page and there I see this 2nd HARD drive Bay is not available

(> 3) all three (P70, L70, S70 series) come with the same TFT panels?
See point 1). Different P70, L70, S70 models were equipped with different material parts.

(> 4) of the series above, which takes in charge mSata?
As far as I know that some P70 models are equipped with an mSATA SSD of 256 GB.

(> 5) do all the model of each series are delivered with support mSata? For example, it could be that L70 - a - 13 m supports mSata is not the case of the L70-a-146?
See point 4) not all models supports the same hardware specifications

(> 6) all of the above, come with a S - ATA II or III S - ATA interface?
I don t think that SATA III is supported. I guess it would be SATA II

(> 7) which is the best of these series listed? I'm trying to understand what makes the big difference of S70 to P70 except for the envelope for example.
Not easy to answer because there are too many models released in Europea.
And not all models are available in each country. So I guess you will have to look for the models that have been released in your country.

  • Re: Unable to record the extended warranty on a replacement laptop.

I followed the advice of Toshiba and my warranty extended and registered the day I got my laptop. Due to a hardware failure within the first 2 days, my laptop was returned for a replacement again. I saved the new laptop but can't save the extended warranty because it is always linked to the previous mobile phone number.

Toshiba support sent several emails, I am either ignored or asks me to sign up for my new laptop (which I already have). Then how get into the mentality of the Toshiba Corporation and then ask to complete a very simple procedure to transfer my extended warranty on the new laptop?

Or am I asking too much?

    Post edited by: DSR

Your old notebook must be removed from the database of Toshiba.
Try to contact Toshiba reuse this mail. Maybe they need several days for a response.

To be honest, this is strange. Many people have two or more laptops from Toshiba and must be able to register extension notebook or guarantee for each of them. for this reason I can't imagine that you are not able to register the second book and extended warranty for it.

  • A few questions about the upgrade on Satellite A300-144

Sorry for the typos, English is not my mother tongue.
I want to ask some questions about the upgrade of a300-144.

    * Some info first.*

    CPU: T2370 ([http://ark.intel.com/products/34445/Intel-Pentium-Processor-T2370-1M-Cache-1_73-GHz-533-MHz-FSB]).
    Chipset: GM965 ([http://ark.intel.com/products/29821/Intel-82GM965-Graphics-and-Memory-Controller]).

    * Questions.*

    1. my frequency of laptop memory at 533 MHz, supports 667 MHz memory controller, memory modules can work at 667 MHz. Is - this because CPU FSB 533 MHz frequency and new processor at 667/800 MHz FSB will fix it or it is hardcoded in the BIOS?

2 Intel said that the size of max memory for my chipset is 4 GB (2 x 2 GB), but Toshiba says that only 2 GB (2 x 1 GB), who is right?

3 I know, taken of my CPU is μFCPGA-478 aka socket P, max FSB 800 MHz, max 35 W TDP, so T9500 ([http://ark.intel.com/products/33918/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-T9500-6M-Cache-2_60-GHz-800-MHz-FSB]) is a compatible processor or there are some limitations in the BIOS?

The speed of the memory is related on the material. This means that the FSB is responsible for the limitation.
If the FSB would allow support 667 MHz then the memory would also at this speed.

    > 2. Intel says that the size of max memory for my chipset is 4 GB (2 x 2 GB), but Toshiba says that only 2 GB (2 x 1 GB), who is right?
The memory depends on the chipset. So if the chipset supports 4 GB of RAM, you should be capable of this move to 4 GB of RAM

    > 3. I know, my CPU is? FC-PGA-478 aka socket P, max FSB 800 MHz, max 35 W TDP, so T9500 (http://ark.intel.com/products/33918/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-T9500-6M-Cache-2_60-GHz-800-MHz-FSB) will be a compatible processor or there are some limitations in the BIOS?

It might be possible that the new processor would be fully supported by the BIOS, but in most cases it should not be a problem if the chipset would support the new processor.
But as far as I know the upgrade of the CPU is not supported by Toshiba or any other manufacturers of portable and its your own risk to run laptop with the new processor.
