• Question of length of array in ODI

  I have a problem during execution of an ODI 11 g interface.
  
  There is a stage in my interface where it creates a unique index.
  Generally speaking, it takes the name of the table and prefixes with ' I$ _ ' and suffix with "_x".
  Example of my index finger is *' I$ _Tablename_x'* if the name of the table is 30 charcaters, then the name of the index will be 35 characters that are not allowed in oracle. That's why giving an error in the interface.
  So I Went to topolgoy-> physical architecture--> oracle--> other and changed my name and the column name length of the table at 25.
  
  However when I run the interface again the name of the table is stripped to 25 characters therefore giving an error "ORA-00942: table or view does not exist" that makes sense.
  
  Please, help me to overcome this problem.

  Thanks for your reply.
  I contacted the support of Oracle and they say it's a bug in 11g, please check below note for Oracle:

  Earlier on 10g we were not names of objects to be truncated if it exceeds
  Backed by its respective technology, in a MAX_TAB_NAME_LENGTH
  conditions.

  But on 11g and same conditions we're truncating object name when it exceeds
  Length MAX.

  This is due to:
  On 11g, the generation of object name is managed in three categories-
  (SnpLSchema-> getObjectName)
  1 OBJECT_NAME_LENGTH_CHECK_OLD = 0;
  2 OBJECT_NAME_LENGTH_CHECK_EXCEPTION = 1;
  3 OBJECT_NAME_LENGTH_CHECK_TRUNCATE = 2;
  .
  By default, for the getObjectName of the API, we are dealing with in the #3 category that
  would cause problems for users of 10 g, the upgrade to 11 g if ObjectName here
  exceeds the MAXIMUM length.

  4. perform the procedure using this connection and the generation of code should
  be similar to 10g.

  The solution does not work for me, I'm still working with oracle to get it repaired.

  But if you upgrade 10g and 11g and if you use these table names to create temporary objects greater than 30 characters, then, there is a high probability you will get questions even if you set the "maximum length of array" less than 30 characters.

  I'll keep you posted as soon as I get the complete solution from oracle.

• QUESTION: Extracting data Essbase AND the ODI Agent installation?

  To extract the data of Essbase cubes, ODI has 'LKM Hyperion Essbase DATA to SQL'.
  We can use (1). ReportScript, or (2). An MDX query or (3). CalcScript
  
  For the extraction of data by using CalcScript, ODI Agent must be running on the same server as the Essbase server.
  
  Anyone know if there is a need for ODI Agent on the Essbase machine if we use the method of MDX query for the extraction of the data?

  I m using oracle 10g R2, Oracle 10 g developer db & MS. Windows server 2003 R2.
  I exported a dmp file from a database database that was running on the AR8MSWIN1256 database character set.
  I created a new database and imported this DMP file in the database that has the same platform, I also put the NLS_LANG in the registry of windows as AMERICAN_AMERICA. AR8MSWIN1256, characters in database as database AR8MSWIN1256 & game as AL16UTF16 national character.
  
  I am facing a problem
  When I run any report Oracle it shows unusual characters such as Italian or German in the report (PDF format client-side)
  However, when I save the data through the oracle Forms, it allows to save and retrieve in Arabic (Egyptian).
  But it shows the unusual result in report
  
  How can I solve this problem.

  1. go to REGEDIT ==> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE ==> ==> ORACLE ==> KEY_DEVSUITEHOME SOFTWARE

  2. SELECT NLS_LANG: UNITED ARAB EMIRATES ARABIC_UNITED. AR8MSWIN1256.

  3. make your regional & language settings as Arab environment.

  4. set all fonts must be in Tahoma.

  5 generate an RDF file in Report Builder and then convert the REX.

  6. Finally the generated reports.

  The language of the OS is depending on the country, and if you buy a laptop in Germany the OS will be on German. If you want to have the OS on another language (English), you can install the OS of Microsoft Windows XP edition family CD (full version) and all the necessary drivers and tools, you can find on Toshiba download page http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com under Support & downloads.

  I don't know, but if you buy a laptop is Switzerland, there's the cell phone comes with recovery DVD including the three languages (French, English and Italian).

  If you buy the laptop in Germany or Austria, it will be German qwertz specific letters.

  By default in OBIEE, you do not find "The current Session settings" under my account - preferences

  The "current Session settings" appear in my account--> preferences when OBIEE integrated with EBS

  EBS has sent this setting to OBIEE after connection process completed successfully.

  So, I also believe in your case, you have integrated OBIEE-EBS.

  In this case, my account - options preferences are overridden when login again of BSE occurs and the

  'Current Session settings' parameter sent running when the integration between OBIEE and EBS is a priority

  and he pulls the language of EBS to be language / local by default.

  Therefore, if this needs to be changed, the change should happen late in the EBS.

  In addition to the large post Hussein snoussi . You can follow:

  NLS is not software that is a patch which means after installing EBS as you mention only available American English. For example, you live in Turkey and you need for Turkish language also for your EBS. You must follow:

  1. first of all, download NLS language of electronic delivery partners
  2. Download this zip on your EBS Server
  3. unzip the file and edit the files allowed user applmgr (say your user applmgr is applprod)
  4 before start NLS don't forget your character set Db should support NLS partners (in this example of Turkish language, do not forget this please)
  5. open the screen of your handler applications Oracle's EBS license your OAM Language(here its turkish) using:

  Oracle Applications Manager > License Manager > languages > French)

  6 log in as user applmgr soruce env file, then run utulity adadmin

  Choose:
  4. maintain Appl menu. database of entities

  then

  * 3. Maintain the multilingual tables *.

  7. when that is done that close your application services, run adadmin and take your system in maintenance mode

  8. go to the directory of NLS related patch and run adpatch utuiliy and begin to patch

  That's all

  If you need to apply an other NLS (for example Romanian), you follow the same steps before applying Romanian NLS patch

  I bought a laptop in Italy a few days - Satellite Pro M40X 266. Understand that the change in the operating system to the English Version can be download from the Toshiba site. Attached is my 1st question, if I download/change language from Italian to English will BONE, this effect than my keybaord or I need to change my keyboard? As some of the symbols are located differently on the keyboard.

  My 2nd question, if changes in the above (1) will be the effect on the keyboard settings. While I can just change the lauguage in some software that is pre-installed in the top of the lat, OneNote 2003, Norton Internet 2005, example etc... (which are the sw bundle inside)? How can I go about to do?

  Hi Fonia,

  Your laptop was supplied with copies OEM licensed the OS and utilities (such as Norton 2005). OEM license means that the products are available in the language of the country where they were purchased.

  If you want English language versions, then you will need to purchase the versions entirely under fired directly from suppliers (or possibly download them from the web sites concerned).

  The English version of the Toshiba Utilities can be downloaded from the web site of Toshiba UK.

  On a BB, you don't have the same control on which things are installed. Apps to go only to a location when you install them, and you can't move them. I know that in WM you can choose to install the apps from the expansion card or internal memory - you have no choice in BB. The SD card is generally used for things that are really data storage (multimedia files, documents, etc.). If you have saved an original installation (.jad?) file in the internal memory, then that is indeed a data file... it created files of the application when you install and which should stay where they were installed in. only the data file (the .jad file, for example) can be moved to SD.

• Cannot connect in application translated when other than the main language is selected

  I am facing a problem due to a translated application.

  Whenever I'm trying to connect to the translated application (which means that I enabled the language of the application to another language in the primary) I will not be connected. It ist, no error message is displayed. Apex just redirects to the login page.

  I'm currently debugging the connection process, but unfortunately I did not help. Maybe someone is able to tell me what means this debug. Although the research he gave some results, none of them were useful in some way.

  I'm having a problem with Acrobat Pro XI and XI of Adobe Reader. This happens when you assign a language of document to a PDF, Acrobat Pro XI file.

  Whenever I attribute to a language of document in Acrobat Pro XI (I do this by setting the language of the document in the Advanced tab of the file properties dialog box [file > properties]) and open the document in Adobe Reader XI, the language of the document is not preserved. Instead, if I check the playback Options (located in the same place where I set the language of the document, the Advanced tab of the file properties dialog box [file > properties]), there is an empty space next to the 'language '.

  I'm sure I'm doing things. After all, before closing the document (after the assignment of a language of the document), Acrobat Pro XI wonder if I want to save the changes made to the document. Also, if I open the document in Acrobat Pro XI (after assigning a language of the document) and checking playback Options, it says language I selected next to "language". The problem is that the language is not maintained in Adobe Reader XI, I need whether for accessibility reasons.

  So my question: how to assign a language to the document in Acrobat Pro XI and store in Adobe Reader XI?
