  There is no way to change or supplement the graphics system. I've seen the videos floating around devices of Frankenstein connected to the card slot wireless with the back cover open and then a powered external Bay with a standard desktop video card. Trying to put something like that will almost surely fry the motherboard, or at best will not perform very well. The mini pci-e slot for the wireless card is a 1 x pci-e bandwidth and video cards require 8 x bandwidth. So if you want to access a pci-e slot, you will need to remove the wireless card.   Can you check something for me? One, can you try to disconnect the cable between the PXI and PCIe cards and try to restart your machine. When you do this, you still see the message?   I would bet dollars to donuts against this thing work and still think you run a risk of damage to the laptop. The wi - fi connection port is a 1 x pci-e card and video it wants at least a 8 x lane. But if you are happy with it so I am.

  I just bought a HP p7-1203 today and I want to update the th graphics card and the specs say that it is a PCI Express x 16 (gen2.0) slot that means it's just a regular PCI Express slot or a PCI Express 2.0 slot? Probably a stupid question.

• Lenovo Mini PCI-E Slot P500 locations?

  I need help to determine if the Z500/P500 manual material actually told the truth or not.
  According to page 27 of the manual of the equipment to the Z500/P500 Ideapad, there are 2 Mini PCI-Express slots:

• Weird PCI Express Mini problem.

  Hello everyone. I just noticed a very weird problem in W520 (4270CTO). I added a device on the PCI express slot I have attached HAND and thread in the correct position in the device (RED wire sleeved by HAND) and wire sleeved BLUE to the power supply, the problem is that nothing happens. It's like the PCI is dead or the son do any work. Nothing happens when the laptop boots to Windows 7 (as new hardware found notification), the device seems ok. I tested it in another laptop and it works. Do you know why this phenomenon occurs?

  P.S.: THE DEVICE is connected to the PCI Express port that is higher next to the HARD disk. No one who is at the bottom of the laptop.

  I found the solution from another forum. A member told me that the laptop is disabling silently hardware incompatible when it isinstalled on the upper PCI - slot.My only concern now, is if there are drivers for the network card, becaue I can't find. I think that even if they are made to other types of machines that they work with my W520.i do not know if you agree well.

  You can tell from this image, the x 16 PCI-E has two what is called the 'gaps', a smaller on the right, a bigger to the left. What intrigues me is that the mine has five gaps, instead of two. • PCI Express x 16 does not?

  I have a HP Pavilion a1730 (Vista OS) and a few weeks ago, the screen went black (no received no signal) after turning on the PC. I tried / cable with my laptop screen and they work fine. the screen also works with the integrated graphics card and VGA on the back of the PC. I replaced the graphics card I had installed twice there are three-four years in the PCI Express slot and in both cases, the problem persisted. The manufacturer technical support card grapics said that most likely the slot PCI Express has gone wrong.   Where is installed your plug-in software component video card or do you use onboard video?

  It seems that you have only one PCI-e x 16 slot in this model and it is probably reserved for a video card. BIOS can research (and not finding) RAM that normally would be on a video card.

  The only other PCI-e slot is x 1 so that network card probably won't in this niche.
