Question of repairing ASP.

End of December 2009, we bought a new Toshiba notebook / laptop. We let him down (provided someone else caused it). Screen broken LCD, and the USB - rf wireless mouse which was still in its USB port.

We contacted Toshiba and they sent us to the repair company: Dynafix. We gave a precise description of the damage, he fell, and we had to price of repair for insurance. We wrote that the LCD broken and everything had to be verified, and that a broken USB (the remains of) module was still in your USB port. The price was a total of 360,02 euros.

Needed repair, the insurance has paid. The costs were lower to a new laptop, so we decided to repair, assuming that the LAA defects would be repaired.

To April, we received the laptop repaired. In June, however, the laptop broke down, he offered no more. I checked all what he (adapter caused it) and I saw that the contacts in the USB port where the rf module had been were loose.

We had the picked up for laptop of Dynafix again and added a note that the laptop did not AND that the USB port was broken. Dynafix sent the portable backn with an adapter (guarantee) and has NOT repaired the USB port.

We contacted Toshiba Netherlands, and the assistance service told us that we could send the laptop to Dynafix again, that we wouldn't have to pay the usual treatment and shipping costs and investigation, because it must have been studied in one of the previous era, that it is in Dynafix.

We received the price of the Dynafix repair now. They write "gebroken" (Dutch for broken) and it was out of warranty, and she was at a cost of 245,76 euros for the repair. A ridiculous price for a 50 cents USB port.

My background is electronic, I do not know this. Dynafix told us that they would replace the whole motherboard because that's what they agreed with Toshiba.

Our phone calls we already has said once to check the USB port, and that the USB port was already broken when we sent it to them, they responded that the port was not broken. An obvious lie, I saw myself!

I called Toshiba and Dynafix, they told me that they have entered into agreements not only not to replace the connectors, but only motherboards. But it's not my problem?

Toshiba Netherlands now tells US to handle it with Dynafix, Dynafix tells us to manage costs with Toshiba.

If Dynafix had done its job, and we had known from the outset that the costs would be high, we would not have chosen to do fix but rather bought a new laptop.
Toshiba Netherlands Dynafix are now and say: 'it happened and we cannot do anything about it more. "

I disagree with that. Because of the bad Dynafix survey we now have high costs. But also Toshiba Netherlands does not take its words. We even pay 57,12 euros to get the laptop back, not fixed!

Can dear people at Toshiba Europe, you help me? This is not normal? This cannot be the way Toshiba treats its customers? Please help me.

Kind regards
P.

I understand you very well
Maybe you should get in touch with a Toshiba Netherlands or Europe again and should explain the situation as a whole.
This is a user to user forum so I put t know if someone here would be able to help

PS: I had a problem with laptop but my PSA has been very, very helpful and everything was covered by the warranty. I n t need to pay anything

In any case, good luck buddy

    Hello

    in 2003, I bought a portable satellite S2430-201.
I bougt Toshiba garage because I thougt is a very popular brand and products are in very good
    quality.
But after a year and a half, I got the first problems: some of the key broke completely turned off, but I did not understand why? I used my cell phone in the normal way. I press the buttons gently, as anyone would do on a laptop.

But it wasn't really a problem, after a few months, my screen has had failures. After that, my DVD-ROM was broken, too. So I send the laptop to Toshiba, and they fixed it.
But after my 2 years warranty, the screen is broken, new missing Keys. The hard drive is broken and I can't even turn it on.
I think that a repair is as expensive as a new. But I can't afford every 3 years a new laptop.
And I need a laptop for my nautical science.

You think how would be the hard Drivr repair, it is very important for me, the failures of the screen and keys are not so important, but I want to run my laptop.

Maybe there is a way to buy a new HD? I don't know how it is difficult to put inside?

    Greetings,

    A.S. (Germany)

    Hi Alexander,.

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you had with your laptop. Unfortunately, the keys on the keyboard are generally quite fragile and can break easily. Sometimes you can get on top of replacement of an ASP even if the current trend is to replacxe the entire keyboard :-(

In regards to the hard drive, it's usually pretty easy to replace, search for a cover or a flap that is usually on the bottom of the laptop you will find generally drive hard, but on some models, it is in the optical drive and on the other, it is under the keyboard. (I don't know exactly where it is on you, 2430).

The hard drive is normally mounted on a cart that serves to fix on the laptop. You must transfer the caddy to the new drive hard so that you can re - insert it in the laptop.

Once the new drive is installed, then you need to boot from your recovery CD to install your operating system.

    Good luck

  • Satellite M60 question - needs repair

    Hello everyone.

    suit in May 2006, I offered a Satellite M60, 17 "(pour 1500 euros)."
3 months ago (features) lines appeared on my TFT.

Toshiba made the repair that cost of 865 euros. Today, my laptop (laptop) does light up no more.
We are announcing that the simple card must change from the estimate: 570 euros.

Estimate I refuses, naturally. I'm with a portable "beautiful", which is only 2 years old.
ASP want to fix it to his office. What can I please.

Thank you very much for your answer.
    Lydia (from Nantes in France)

    Hi Lydia

It s a sad story and a little a bit difficult to understand, however, it resembles a part material is defect and a replacement is needed.
If your warranty is valid then a repair must be performed free of charge
If you have registered your laptop on the Toshiba page then a guarantee must be valid for 2 years. If you haven t registered the laptop on the Toshiba page then your warranty is valid for one year only.

It seems that your warranty has expired and you will pay for the repair
Unfortunately, but I don't see any other solution

Best regards and greetings to France

  • Question about repair screen on Satellite P20-S504

    Hello

I have a SP20-504 (17 "widescreen, 3.2 GHz processor) that has been abandoned.
Apart from the apparent defects, the screen does not work.

If I shine a torch on the screen, I see the screen still works and the VGA function works fine.

Someone at - it an idea if it's repairable cheaply?
What is likely to be broken?

I think that the possible options can be:
-fluorescent tubes behind the LCD Panel
    -l' inverter

    Any suggestions?

    R.

    Hello

On this way, we can only speculate, but from your description, it is really possible that FL converter is defective.

My only suggestion is: contact the Toshiba authorized service partner.

  • Satellite P100-434 - graphics card gone will be the motherboard replaced?

    Hello!

Last night, on my laptop screen went black on reboot, but the rest of the laptop seems to load very well. First of all, I thought it was the light back who had died, but an external monitor did not work either, so my son thinks that the graphics card is dead.

The laptop is almost three years, but, fortunately, it is still under an extended warranty. My question is, repair the laptop, no doubt, replace the motherboard or is not cost-effective and that they will give me a new laptop? Also, how time Toshiba take to repair laptops under warranty?

    Thank you for everything hep.

    Emily

    Hello

Of course, if the graphics card is faulty, you will get a new mainboard, and due to the extended warranty, it will be free for you. You will not get a new laptop, only the motherboard will be exchanged I think because it s cheaper as a new laptop and Satellite P100 is pretty portable. ;)

I think that no one can say how long the repair takes to your laptop. It's always different and depending on the availability of spare parts. Therefore, you should ask the authorized service provider. They can tell you more.

But I have to say on my laptop, that the motherboard was also exchanged the ASP. Repair didn t take much time, as far as I know it was only a few days. Nice service and the technician are cool people. :)

My laptop is a compaq presario f700 model. I am currently using windows vista Home premium and have the cd of windows 7 Professional, but I don't know if the upgrade with this question will repair or remain the same. Someone knows how to fix this?

    Hi Mattcreatr,

1 can connect to the router with other machines?

    Step 1:

Make sure you have the latest NETWORK adapter drivers installed.

Also, see if there is a software that goes along with the drivers.  If so, get the latest version of this as well.

    Update drivers: recommended links

    Step 2;

Also, see if there is a software that goes along with the drivers.  If so, download the recent plus version and that as well.

Also, make sure that the wireless adapter is turned on.

    a. Click Start, type network and sharing in the search box Center start and press ENTER.

    b. click on change adapter settings.

    c. right click on the connection, and then select activate.

    Step 3:

Alternatively, you can perform a restore of the system to a restore point where you do not experience the problem and check.

Start your computer in safe mode

Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

To run the system restore, you can consult the following link:

Boot from the Vista DVD (or CD/DVD repair), answer a few questions, select Repair and choose:

1 reboot (you may need to run several times).

2 if (1) above does not cure the problem back, go to the Repair Option and this time choose command line, then:

  • Drive hard error detected on the HP Pavilion dv6835nr with Vista Home Premium bits

Lately, my laptop has been slow to start. Yesterday, after control electronic, I noticed the screen turned black and only 3 icons were visible: Trash, Firefox and File Recovery... And a lot of small cascade titled windows: System message. and a file recovery window appears and scans to find out the necessary repairs. The message is "your computer is in critical condition. Hard drive detected error. "7 questions of repair, the next screen offers to upgrade my 'demo' (don't have the slightest idea what they're talking of)

When I click here to activate it, they want to buy such a product.

Is this a scam or a virus? How can I fix this problem.

    HP Pavilion dv6835nr

Processor Intel Core 2 duo T5550

    with 250 GB HDD

    3072 MB DDR2 SDRAM

    Please help me...

    Hello:

Yes, you should try it but do not for get rid of the virus. The drive is bad, but you can try to recover the files you want to keep using this disc.

The GUI will allow you to explore your hard drive and if there's still life in it, you may still be able to see and copy your files to a storage device portable usb.

If the Kaspersky Rescue CD cannot access your hard disk, then all is lost.

Things to consider... dv9000 models are plagued by questions of the motherboard and you can opt for a new PC, rather than fixing you.

I do not work for HP, so I don't have to think that you buy a new laptop, but you have to consider the possibility of throwing good money after bad.

If you decide to buy a new hard drive, you can get a 7 200 RPM one which has better performance on a disk of 5 400 rpm, but it shorten the time between charges of battery a bit.

You will also need to buy a set of recovery disks.  Info to do this is on the link below:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph07143

If you can still read the Vista product key 25 character on the bottom of your laptop, you can also make your own Vista installation DVD.

    Here's how:

If you are in a fault light but rewarding you can do yourself if you can read your product key of Vista on the PC of 25 characters.

You just download the 3 files you need on the link below and read all the instructions to create a Setup bootable DVD disk using imageburn.

Do not take into account the part of the text in the first screen shot about "extract the files in the folder of Vista."

The files were extracted already in this folder when you ran the X14.exe file by reading the text on top of the first screenshot.

The other thing I noticed is on the 4th page, where it shows Developer ID Microsoft Corporation. I had to type Microsoft Corporation in me, and then other codes already filled in.

When I went to compile the ISO file, ImageBurn gave a message on a WIM file, file and ISO, and if I wanted to burn it in a different format.

I selected no, make the ISO file.

It was not so hard to do. I burned both the disk of 64-bit and 32-bit disk in case I ever need them.

I tested both of them one my hp dc7100 CMT desktop PC, worked flawlessly.

When you enter the product key, he knows which version of Vista you have.

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/software-OS/w/microsoft_os/3317.2-3-Microsoft-Windows-v...

After you install Vista successfully, you can then install the drivers for your PC and driver page support.

  • Couinantes noise

I'm curious to know if there is a way to reduce this rubbery squeaky noise.

Here is a small sample... Thank you!

    I have

Shame, we do not have the original of the tape before it had treated... one of the things that regularly causes unpleasant squeaks with the old tapes is that integrated felt pads to the back of harden them and rub so that they are not supposed to applying pressure on the Strip above the playback head - the vibration causes a massive mechanical just squeak by vibrating the Ribbon.

The best "cure" for this is to use a twin-capstan deck suitable (as a Nakamatchi) and the gap completely - the twin capstans felt provide all the voltage required. Other than that, it is a question of repairing the Assembly felt carefully.
