  • Question of ThinkPad T450s Power adapt

Hi guys, this is my first post

I want to buy the Thinkpad T450s soon (US version) for my personal use. My only concern about this is that the power adapter can operate with the South American power (220V, 60 Hz), because the United States 110V operation as far as I know.

Only the product specification is as follows: country Pack 45W AC adapter / CC of the United States (2 pins).

PS: I sent this question a week ago to Lenovo support and they did not respond, so I take this way.

    Thanks in advance.

Power adapter 110-240V, then it should work, I use mine in Europe, you just use the adapter and the end to match your outlet in the country.

  • A few questions on ThinkPad T450s

    Hello

I am actively choose a laptop computer and found that T450s is almost a perfect candidate! Have just a few questions about this:

    1. is there a BIOS option to swap the Fn and Ctrl keys (manual says Yes, but someone could confirm)?

    2. is there is a way to configure a keyboard to use the F1 - F12 keys without pressing the Fn key? If so, then what is the way to achieve (BIOS, Driver or software Lenovo)?

    3. If the laptop is controlled with the 256 GB SSD, then it is M2 or 2.5 SSD "?

    4. If I order a laptop with 4 GB or RAM, it would be possible to install the add-on 8 GB later? If so, is he 1600 Mhz CL9 or CL11? ECC or non-ECC? What is 1.35v?

    Thanks in advance!

    1. Yes, there is an option of BIOS T450s to swap the Fn and Ctrl.

2 FnLk = Fn + Esc (as indicated on the key).

    3. 256 GB 2.5 "SSD.

    4. 8 GB DDR3 SDRAML 1600 MHz non - ECC. CL has no importance. L = low voltage.

  • Question of ThinkPad Tablet Music Sound

Hello, I have a slight issue with the sound of my new Thinkpad tablet. When I play my music, it will play only the left channel of the stereo track. I don't know why that would happen, judging that there was a speaker. But it would be nice to have the two tracks to play. Anyone know why that would happen?

Nevermind, apparently with an update, the problem itself. My bad.

  • List of questions my ThinkPad Tablet

Bought the TPT (183822U) in November.  Initially, I used for almost a month and was generally dissatisfied.  Here's why.

    1. UI are not reliable.  It took several keys to engage often enough so he could have disruptive effects.  Swiping and scrolling are slower and jerkier than expected.
    2. Rate of life and change of battery are much worse than what I expected.
    3. Accidents of the constant application.
    4. The hardware buttons are kind of annoying.
    5. Video playback was not as impressive as I had hoped (my expectations perhaps not reasonable).
    6. Quality of the app has been less than I'd hoped.  I have not found convincing enough applications to use a Tablet when I got a smartphone and a laptop ultralight (MBA).  Maybe I wasn't a person of the tablet.
    7. I didn't have the digitizer pen (I bought the 16 GB TPT).

These 5 questions, the first three were reasonable and that I considered to be real defects.  I tried to send it back, but my RAM went to my junk mail, and I missed my window.  I thought that he had been denied because he was technically a month.

Then, after having let stand for 2 months, I decided to try again to kiss her.

    I bought a case and a pen.

The pen changed things a lot.  It is not perfect and everyonce in a while the sensitivity goes dead for a second, but in general, it was a great feature and really brought the TPT to life for me.  I found the best applications were Writepad and pen, and I started to use both.  AutoDesk Sketchbook has been disappointing.  You've got palm rejection something fierce (I'm not wearing a glove to draw, it's stupid).

3 weeks to really use it, I was starting to get into a manual, which was gratifying.  Most of it has been based around the use of the stylus, but also of Evernote, remember the milk, browsing the Internet, Email (I could live with the problem of the apostrophe), the E-reader app for my PDF, and Netflix library has completed my reguar use.  I always liked the presence of the SD card reader and USB expansion capability.

But it was a short 3 weeks.

Now, the tablet will not charge is no longer through the Micro USB connector.  I do not have a dock, but am concerned about buying one because of throwing good money after bad.  I will try a new cable when I go home, where I wore it out (charging every night), but I doubt that's the problem.  It is not a very stable connection, years light behind the iPad in this regard.

P.S. I can't understand how to upgrade the thing.  I'm on 75_US and update system still reports no updates found.  Is this fair?

  • Question RAM ThinkPad X 201

Hello, thanks for reading.  I just bought an x 201 (Type 3680, I5 processor, 4 GB RAM, 320 GB HD, Windows 7 32 bit).  I noticed that the available memory is only show 2.92 GB, while the installed real memory shows 4 GB.  I did not have any way to remap the memory in the BIOS, and I can't find any way to increase the available RAM.  I finally run some heavy programs on the x 201, and I was planning to move to 8 GB of RAM.  However, I don't know if the processor or the computer is suitable for a larger amount of memory than the 2.92 listed as available.  Advice/suggestions would be appreciated.  Thank you!

32-bit windows has a limitation of ~3.3GB. If adds that little memory is used for onboard video; you end up with what you have.

You should have ordered it with the 64 bit version of Windows.

Contact Lenovo, maybe they can send you a set of recovery disks for Win7 64 bit for a small fee.

  • Question RAM ThinkPad X 230

    Hi Lenovo community,

I'm looking to upgrade the RAM in my X 230, but I was unable to find detailed information on the size of RAM (PIN) in the laptop. I looked at the model number of the RAM in the original Samsung laptop and found on Amazon, where it is listed as having 204 pins.

Is this the right size that I should look for when buying new RAM for this machine?

    Thank you!

204 pin ddr3 sodimm is the type of ram you use in your machine.

  • A21m (2628-F2U) - Linux operating system? Ubuntu?

My ThinkPad A21m (2628-F2U, PIII 750 MHz (256 KB), 512 MB RAM) works very effectively with Windows 2000 SP4 and seems to work on the internet with dial-up, as my great power, 2 GB of RAM Windows XP computers better.) Unfortunately, it is now difficult to get software anti-virus and firewall that are compatible with Windows 2000. (I suspect - but have not had a chance to fully examine the still - that my A21m would not meet material specifications for the current anti-virus software and firewall versions anyway.)

I was wondering if moving to Linux, Ubuntu or another operating system would be useful, or would only add to my woes. If I switched to Linux, for example, the Thinkpad drivers and the software would work with the new operating system? Most of the other programs, such as Outlook Express, Microsoft Office and so on, would work with the new operating system?

If anyone has had experience with the problem of Windows 2000 is no longer supported by providers of antivirus and firewall, I would appreciate your comments and suggestions. Thank you.

There is one side and renowned internet security that is compatible with Windows 2000 product and works well with my ThinkPad A21m without draining or focusing on resources. This is ESET Smart Security 5, which includes antivirus protection and firewall. Also, the update on a dial-up connection process works well and doesn't cause me annoyance. I thank Mornsgrans for attracted my attention on ESET. Now that I have a security product that works well with my ThinkPad A21m hardware and operating system Windows 2000, I can continue to use my ThinkPad A21m in the foreseeable future.

  • Insert hard drive in Ultrabay 2000 2nd drive HARD adapter

I tried in vain to insert a hard drive in Ultrabay 2000 drive adapter. The hard drive is a MHV2060AH of Fujitsu (new) 60 GB hard drive (Enhanced IDE (ATA-6)). The Ultrabay 2000 drive adapter is reference number of IBM 08K 6068. The adapter fits into my Thinkpad A21m and my Thinkpad Docks. Try as I might, I just can't get the hard drive far enough into the connector to be able to close the plastic latch at the end. In fact, I accidentally broke a small thin strip of plastic on the latch, trying to close with the hard drive in place. I know it's supposed to tight once it is seated, but is it supposed to be so hard to insert? She isn't very good at pushing it in your fingers, or is there another problem with the help of this hard drive? Is that what I should buy another brand of hard drive or another model? I would be grateful for advice. Thank you.

Riders would usually be on the four pins are grouped together - on the left side if I remember - and they are no tiny circles more rubber in most cases. You should be able to remove them if you are careful not to bend the pins.

Hard drive model you do reference has been out of production at least 2 or 3 years. You might have bought one of OUR (New Old Stock), though.

    Good luck.

  • Question about the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2

    Hello!

I am interested in the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2. I'll order one with all the extras when it is available. I hope at the end of the year it will be able to order this nice tablet.

My question is about the PowerVR SGX545 Intel Atom COS graph: is - this device capable to manage my Dell U3011 with native resolution of 2560x1600px mini-HDMI or via the Dock 2 Tablet ThinkPad (HDMI) connector?
I did find this information anywhere on the sites, e. g. http://www.lenovo.com/psref/

I intend to use the Tablet for my university studies, but I also want to work with her at home with my Dell U3011 connected as a second monitor.

Thank you very much and best regards from the Germany!

On the TPT2 HDMI port can handle that resolutions DVI single link. So he cannot manipulate the U3011 to its native resolution.

  • Question of digitizer ThinkPad Yoga

I learned that the scanner with Helix cannot be used as an eraser, the digitizer ThinkPad Yoga has the same problem? Thank you

the pen digitizer on Helix, TPT2 and Yoga all do not have the traditional gum of the traditional ThinkPad X series Tablet function. There is a button on the digitizer pen, you can use the eraser function.

You can also get X Series digitizer pen that has a function of gum, they work with the ThinkPad Yoga (and are what I use now).

  • IBM ThinkPad T43: Rescue and Recovery question

    Hello

I have an IBM ThinkPad T43. The Rescue and Recovery program opens whenever I turn on my laptop after a failed attempt to restore my laptop to factory settings. I cannot even connect on Windows, because the Rescue and Recovery program opens upwards immediately after I turned on the power. I tried to restore my system to factory settings using the program and the product recovery disc I bought at Lenovo, in the hope of resolving the issue, but every time I'm prompt "IBM could not restore your system.

How can I stop Rescue and Recovery of the opening and resume with normal startup in Windows? What should I do so that I am able to restore my laptop to factory settings?

Please help if you have any suggestions. I appreciate it greatly! Thank you!

You can use this TI pc doc disk bootable http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-56222 its been a long time since I used it, but I think that in the top right there is a tab that says utilities or something like that you can wipe the HARD drive from there as I've always used the quick option worked for me
