  I am considering buying an A100-147. Anyone know if the hard drive is SATA or IDE.

  I am also looking at the Satellite A100-207. It is more expensive to 70 pounds, but it has a larger drive (120 GB) SATA and a slightly faster processor (1.73 vs 1.6). First, is there really a difference between the satellite and Satellite channels other than the badge, quality of construction, for example? Secondly, I am likely to notice any practical difference between the two models? If this isn't the case, I'll save money!

  In my opinion it's the right price for this device. If you check the specs the unit has Wide XGA TFT color of beautiful 15.4 TruBrite display "(1280 x 800), 120 GB of HARD drive." In any case before you buy the laptop please make sure what you want to do with it. If you like game then this device is perhaps not the best because of the shared memory graphics card. The unit has also a Bluetooth module or internal microphone.
  I put t know how is this important to you, but for that price you laptop very nice.

  I have just ordered an upgrade to 2 GB RAM and want to do a new install of WINDOWS 7 on Vista.

  Should I go for the 32-bit version or 64 - not sure if I need one over the other based on the processor?

  Windows 7 32 bit supports max 3.2 GB of RAM
  In case you want to upgrade the RAM to 4 GB of RAM, I recommend to choose Windows 7 64-bit to be able to use all 4 GB of RAM

  The processor is an Intel Pentium T2060 that supports 32-bit but physical address Extensions is based on 32 bits, which allows x 86 processors to access more than 4 GB of physical memory

  Any other use of way made recovery DVDs and install OS. After this all hardware components will be properly configured and ready to use.

  I bought an Equium A100-306 in November before deploying operations that I'm in the forces and could not be updated before that.

  I just go and discovered that I can't have my Vista upgrade I missed the deadline. I ModusLink E-mail unanswered. I was wondering if anyone has any advice or that you could help me solve this problem.

  I think that I should not miss out on the free update due to circumstances beyond my control. Looking through the documentation I received with my laptop there was no deadline, said that it is only on the internet, the date limit is clearly but I was unable to verify this.

  I want to replace my CPU Intel T2250 with an Intel T7700.

  The problem is that the T2250 is 32-bit instead the T7700 is a 64-bit.
  Is compatible, but I did not now if the motherboard is compatible also.

  Any of you tried this upgrade?

  You should check if the chipset would be able to manage the new processor.
  If the socket is compatible and if the chipset is capable of managing the new processor then you'd have a good chance to upgrade the processor.

  I cannot now connect to the internet (wireless option is not even showing as available in network connections) and next to the ethernet in devices, there is a yellow question mark and a mark of exclamtion beside him.

  Can someone tell me who I need?

  You certainly have the WLan driver.

  You will find all Wlan drivers:

  Sorry but there are a number of models of Equium A100 and therefore it s not possible to tell which driver WLan you have without knowing the model number.

  Oddly enough, I had XP_MCE to show 4 GB of RAM, immediately after the BIOS update.

  Intel Core2 Duo T5500 Mobile is known as a Merom/64 Bit processor.

• Equium A100-338 - Missing recovery Toshiba in the menu Wizard

  I have a Toshiba Equium A100-338 I need recovery to factory settings.
  I know I have to press f8 and go to the Toshiba Recovery Wizard.

  My problem is that this option is missing and has been replaced by 'Restore the whole Windows operating system'. When I click on this option, I get a generic message, saying that I have to restore from a restore CD.

  My question is, is it possible to manually start the recovery in the command prompt? The wizard needs to run a program. All I have to do is find this program. I know that I have the recovery partition (I used Ubuntu to recover files of the user, and should it upward).

  Just a simple question: If you have problems to start the HARD drive recovery, why you n t use the Toshiba Recovery disk?

  It can also restore settings from the factory with all the drivers and tools, so it of the same wait it erases the entire HARD disk.

• Alarm of battery low battery/criticism on Equium A100-027

  I bought an Equium A100-027 running on Vista Home Premium this Feb. Since then, I installed some software, for example a software phone Nokia, bluetooth, Virus-A drivers & all updates from Ms.

  When the battery is low or critical, I get no sound alert, despite this option checked in the Advanced Power Options settings and using the template to default sounds Win.

  The card sound & speakers work certainly I get sound notifications of Win and can play CDs, etc.

  Is there a driver/software that can be reinstalled to get this working again as system restore would only let me go back a month.

  I saw your post before, and I understand that you need help.
  I can give you the following suggestion:

  -Updated to the latest version of the bios. (Check this site out: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_bios.jsp?service=EU&mode=allMachines)

  -Pick up your machine and update all THE drivers/tools/etc, but before installing some 'foreign' software, check if the "beep" is working properly (for things like go here):
  http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp)

  -Install other software (Nokia Manager, etc.) and check after each newly installed software, if it still works. If after you install specific software, the "beep" doesn´t work anymore, then you know where the installation problem and you have some good software troubleshooting. ;)

• Equium A100 - where to get a new card controller for Hitachi hard disk?

  I have a Toshiba Equium A100-338. The hard drive is now broken. The problem seems to be with on the hard drive controller card; the device gives no response when I try to plug the hard drive into the other computers with SATA interface. There is reason to believe that the drives are OK; they begin to turn when the power is on, and they do no harm to sounds.

  I really want to save the data on the hard drive.

  So my question is: does anyone know where to buy a new * HTS541610J9SA00 * (Hitachi 100 GB 5400 RPM 8 MB buffer SATA drive hard laptop 2.5 "), so that I can use the controller of this unit to get access to the data on my hard drive?

  Have you tried Google? Usually using Google, you will find everything you want.
  Just use HARD drive model name and I am sure that you will find an online store where you can buy new HARD drive.
