  • Question sleeping on all new Satellite Pro U500-1EX

    Hi guys,.

    I have a new Satellite Pro U500-1EX with Windows 7 64 bit.

    The laptop is having some problems with its function of sleep. I wonder if others have had the same problem - and if anyone knows anything that can be done.

    OK, there are two questions;
    1. when the laptop enters sleep mode - it will come out it its own after a while. He goes to the login screen and wait about another hour before falling asleep. That's when it is plugged into the power - and no LAN.

    2. when I close the lid to put the laptop into standby - and while on battery - after awhile he will supply any. Connect the power supply won't do anything - the power light not at all - which suggests that the laptop don't even note not be plugged. I have to then remove the battery and turn the computer on (thus losing all the data that I had when I put the computer to sleep!).

    So, have you seen this issue with your satellite pro? This is something common and being ignored - or y at - it an easy solution for it?

    Thanks in advance.

    -Audette

    Hi Audette,

    I have the Satellite U500 also but I can t notice any question about fashion 'sleep'. It works perfectly with an OS preinstalled Toshiba and the latest version of the BIOS. Then perhaps you need to update the BIOS as suggested Timox.

    Before you begin the update, close all running programs (also, AntiVirus and firewall), make sure you are logged in as administrator and do not stop the computer being updated.

    By the way: you use the preinstalled operating system from Toshiba?

  • Power management & random question sleep/put into hibernation

    Hello people!

    First of all, I'm an administrator COMPUTER experienced, and I've owned 6 Thinkpads over the years... the machine in question is today a Thinkpad W530 (K1000M, 16 GB RAM, 240 GB SSD Intel, Windows 7 x 64, latest drivers and BIOS).

    I had a weird problem where out of no where, and while on battery, the computer will go to the default mode ' uh oh, battery runs out, record everything! Aka, if Hibernate is enabled, the computer will be in hibernation. If I disable Hibernate in Windows, then the computer go to sleep. So the problem is same, and for other symptoms can present as "hibernate without warning" instead of "sleep without warning.

    In any case, this occurs sporadically and often at times that bothers. The first few times, I didn't know what has increased, but I looked into it a little further now.

    Immediately after this forced sporadic "sleep" / "hibernate" happens, I checked the event log:

    "

    The system to sleep.

    Reason to sleep: battery

    "

    Now, obviously, this is no good. I was a little confused the first time I saw that as the power manager, or the built-in Windows gauge showed low battery. And after that I take for sleep/hibernate mode, the battery is still fine.

    Today, however, I only found a major clue. This time, instead of simply jumping to a sleep/hibernate event, I got a low battery critical Windows popup warning first, and looking at the Windows battery meter was shown left 7%, even if Lenovo Power Manager gauge showed a little more than 50% left. Almost immediately after, he does it is sleep and I wake him up once again, and of course, as always, the battery level returns to normal.

    If long story short, it's a pretty serious battery level report bug somewhere in the drivers of power? Or is it a bad battery? (And if that were the case, why only Windows reports the State of the intermittent dangerously low battery, Lenovo Power Manager no?)

    Just curious for some feedback, otherwise, I'll have to start RMAing parts, or even the entire machine. Of course, having Windows sometimes think that the battery is not about to die is not acceptable. Imagine if I was doing something critical and decides the computer "uh oh, battery low time.» close it as soon as possible! ».

    Yes. Define your event of critical battery doing nothing. It is a workaround, but it is not too bad workaround.

I get a black screen and no function keyboard or mouse suite. Some of the forums I have watch say it is perhaps a matter of Nvidia, others say that its an OS problem. Keyboard PS2
    USB mouse

    Help, please!

    Hello Parker_Jones,

    Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum.

    There is a possibility that this behavior might be caused by a program not allowing the computer to wake up properly. Take a look at the article below and see if you can troubleshoot using the information contained in the article.

    A computer Windows Vista does not wake from sleep when a PassThru driver is installed

    You can also use the mode without failure as a troubleshooting tool to determine the program that could be the cause of the issue. I've included the first part of the article below so that you will know how enter Mode without fail if you didn't know already. Please see the link to read the full article and complete troubleshooting.

    Step 1: Perform a clean boot

    Note If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.

    a. log in the computer using an account with administrator rights.

    b. click on start to reduce this includes this image

    type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration Utility.Collapse this includes this image

    If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.

    c. under the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the Load Startup items check box. (The box use the Boot file is not available.)

    d. on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft services check box and then click on disable all.

    Note Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.

    e. click OK, and then click restart.

  • Probook450G3: question sleep/put into hibernation

    I did a fresh install of windows 10Prox64 on this laptop which is originally pre-loaded with windows7 Prox64. I installed the drivers on the disc included. now, every time the laptop into hibernation or sleep I can't wake him up - the screen blinks several times then turns white. Nothing comes on the screen even not the mouse pointer. I can only continue by making a forced power off feeding and when I start her works normally as long as he does not sleep. I installed all the updates driver/Windows with the same result. Is there something else I can try other than to return to HP?

    HI Lotto,

    Please download and install the software HP support assistant from this link:

    http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?JumpID=va_r602_us/en/any/PSG/pl_ot_ob_ds_pd/hpsupportassistant_cc/DT & _sm_au_ = i7VQZMWMQRfwpVps

    It will help to identify and correct the missing drivers and updates also.

    This link also contains manuals on how to use HP Support Assistant. Make sure that you are connected to the internet during this operation.

    If this does not work, you can try to reset your power options "by default" in the microsoft windows system.

    and in the end, as a workaround, you can modifty power plan options to avoid hibbernation or standby mode.

  • Satellite C50D - A - 13N - Windows question sleep mode 8.1 alarm

    Hello

    I hope someone who knows more about than me power management can help!

    I bought a C50D-A-13N Satellite a few days ago and it was fine.
    However, I had a problem with the mode 'sleep' a couple of times.

    The laptop goes into mode 'sleep' as expected (when the lid is closed or when I press the power button). However, when I press the power button to turn it back on, it comes to life for a few seconds - the screen is on and I can move the mouse and interact with other things - but backwards past mode after a few seconds. All I can do to make it work is to close completely by holding down the power button and restarting, I REALLY hate to do.

    The laptop is fully charged and plugged or unplugged happy.

    Everyone knows about this problem in Windows 8.1 front?

    Thank you

    NTANGOUKANI

    On my laptop, I use the same settings but when I close the laptop lid goes into sleep mode. When I opened the laptop lid starts automatically without using the power button / stop.

    The same thing happens with your laptop?

  • PowerMac G5 graphic 7.3 questions/sleep

    Hello

    Just received a model of June 2004 very good state PowerMac G5 Dual 2.5 GHz, but after all setting and installing Leopard (clean), I found that there are some strange debris possibly video artifacting (?) on my screen. I plugged the machine on the screen of my TV too and same results here, so I thought the problem with the graphics card? My computer is also unable to sleep properly, automatically and manually. When you click the sleep button the screen remains lit and some fans WHIR of a button, but the screen stays on still. I replaced the PRAM Battery, tried countless configurations of input devices, but I still have no idea.

    I read on some forums that the Apple SuperDrive (which in my model is somewhat faulty, I think) keeps awake Leopard some PowerMac G5 running. I would like to hear if anyone else has had this problem and it was resolved. My graphics card is an ATI 9600 with 256 MB of VRAM, possibly the Mac + PC version.

    Thank you

    Alex

    First of all, when you say own, do you mean that you erase the operating system installed?  Mac OS X is installed not "Clean".

    http://discussions.Apple.com/docs/doc-2209

    If you have artifacts with a deletion and installed the system, there is a hardware problem at issue.      When not detected by the preloaded material factory test installation disc, it's usually a RAM problem.  See my FAQ * RAM:

  • Satellite x 200 and strange question sleep

    Hello

    I have a strange problem with this laptop.
    I have windows Vista and everytime I put it in sleep mode (the lid) everything stops, but I have observed that, after 30 minutes, the laptop restarts and stays like that until the battery goes dead.

    Thank you

    Is wake on LAN in the BIOS disabled option?

  • No sound after question sleep & network on the Satellite A200 - 14 d

    Hello

    again satellite a200 14 d vith Vista Home Premium, and there are two annoying problems:

    1. very often, but not in every time, when I close the lid to put the computer in sleep mode - after I opened (continued) even once, the icon in the status bar shows me, that there is "no audio device" (Red Cross on the speaker) and so the laptop is totally not mute - no possible to sound (except way loud and unexpected "grinding" of the disk hard suprisigly hehe - grrrrr...).
    Sometimes it helps just to close and open the lid, but most of the cases I had to restart the computer.
    Of course, I downloaded the latest driver realtek audio from this site, but does not help.

    2. also very often my network freezes. I currently use the UMTS connection on mobile phone - Bluetooth; He stops just in some sort of work itself; If I click on the shortcut icon 'dial-up' nothing happens, also if I right click on the network in the status bar icon - nothing, and if I go to control panel - network & sharing the computer freezes completely, while I have to turn it off by longpushing the switch.

    Who can help? Thank you!

  • Ideapad Windows 10 question sleep Yoga 13

    Hey community,.

    I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and so far no big deal don't except this one:

    Where two users are connected at the same time, and one of them closes the lid to enter standby mode, Yoga restarts instead of go to sleep. This happens only in the case that more than one user is connected to Windows. This was fine when I was using Windows 8.1, but has stopped working in Windows 10.

    Another small issue: Yoga is not tablet mode are the request, folded in the tablet. Automatic screen rotation works fince btw and keyboard is well off in tablet mode. But 10 Windows does not recognize it.

    Advice, especially on the first topic on the eve?

    PS: 10 Clean of Windows Installer, default BIOS, Windows default power settings.

    OK people, I hear.

    I dug a little deeper into the event viewer and encountered some issues with the Conexant Smartaudio device. Uninstall all the drivers for the audio device and instead use the default windows drivers seems to fix the problem.

    This is may be of help to someone else.

  • Sleep W510 blutooth problems

    Hi, for the last two days, I have a problem with my tablet when I use bluetooth. I have the Microsoft 5000 bluetooth mouse and the fine detected Tablet mouse and works very well with him. Now, when my computer goes to sleep and I wake up this back, the mouse does not work. As if it was not connected. To have detected it again, I go into the wireless and bluetooth turned off-lit switch control panel.

    I reapplied the Jan 8 driver pack, but that does not solve the problem. I applied the update to the bios 1.51 two weeks ago and everything was ok or better with this update. I also tried to uncheck "allow computer to turn off this device...". "for Bluetooth radio in the Device Manager, but have no effect.

    Is there something I can do to fix this? I would like to have bluetooth works in utself when my computer from standby.

    Thank you

    Ccote

    I think I've finally found. I wa not a windows update, but the fact that I uninstalled clear-fi apps. I solved my problem by installing Windows 8 DOWNLOAD Microsoft MSDN since I was a ultimate MSDN subscription. Since then, no problem with the bluetooth at all.

    Thank you

  • Question sleep 11 7140 with keyboard travel place

    I got a place 11 7140 with travel keyboard Dell running Windows 10 Tech Preview Build 10162.

    Whenever I close the keyboard cover, laptop properly goes into standby and watch Windows Event Viewer entering reason Eve, connected: cover. At the same time, the Watch Windows Event Viewer then an event output connected mode standby, with reason: user input. So, whenever I close the keyboard of the trip, the tablet in and out instantly connected standby.

    If I use a magnetic lid I, windows saves properly connected before enter, reason: the lid well sleeps until I open the lid and press a button.

    It seems therefore that the keyboard of the Tablet is to blame and is somehow sending entered as/after closing the lid. This stops my Tablet connected standby standby and active rest with the screen turned off all the time, completely drain the battery.

    Is this a problem with the keyboard of the Tablet being defective, or is it a known problem that is being developed?

    Wow, you're right! The lower left edge is actually protruding up above the rest of the region.

    Replacement keyboard doesn't have this problem, and sleeps with the lid closed, no more generated user correctly input event.

    Hooray!

  • T400 - question sleep

    Dear all,

    We bought 50 new T400 with HSPA embedded, SSD, battery UltraBay... and unfortunately, I detected a problem while waking up from sleep mode.

    OS is WinXP SP3

    PwrMgrDrv = 1.52

    PwrMgr = 1.54

    ActiveProtection = 2.90

    Hotkey = 2.11

    KeyCustomzier = 1.3.53

    AccConn = 5.3

    PresDir = 4.03

    UltraNav = 2.04

    When the lid is closed, the laptop becomes (as it should) in standby mode. After having opened the lid, the laptop is locked (windows) and I can no longer enter name of user and password. Some of the major work (enter, Tab), but others are not, BACKSPACE shows rectangels on entering the user name field. Only solution is to Power button...

    Any idea?

    Thank you!

    I found the problem

    This is not a hardware issue or software issue of products, Lenovo, his company of backup (Setup Protection) where the material "keylogger detection" setting is set to "ban", if I disable this control work... I am waiting for a response from Utimaco...

    When will the Mode of Eve, all software that have automatic update always perform as expected?

    Is it possible to substitute the term creation of recovery once and once again disk access the recovery Partition?

    My recovery disks are unusable and I need to get the software (OEM). The update list does not correct the problem.

    Recovery system would be the ability to choose if you want to reload everything. You can also contact HP directly and get a new set of recovery disks.
