Question Smartphones Email for a personal curve blackBerry

Hi all

I will receive my curve 8330 for Verizon Wireless in a few days.

My question is this: I use this to my personal email.  no tricks work/business.  Do I still have to keep my computer on at home in order to receive emails on blackberry?

Thank you!

Ross

Welcome to the forums.

No, your PC didn't need to be on.  If you install Desktop Manager on your PC, do NOT select the option "Desktop Redirector" (or company).  The redirector option causes more problems than I counted.

You must create a BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) account, follow these steps: http://blackberryfaq.net/index.php/How_to_add_/_delete_email_addresses

Then you're email will be delivered to your BB anywhere you have coverage.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones email works, but not with BlackBerry

    Hello world

I came across a rather strange problem, after some extensive research, I can't find any solution so I came here to ask if anyone can provide all the answers to this.

I have my own email [field] and it works great, reception/sending emails emails and it works with my office etc. outside my BlackBerry - I go in BlackBerry email setup and enter all the details of the email, and it says

'Not found e-mail address field. Email address * is not found. Please veryify that... »

I checked the area and of the box DNS/MX records - all seem to be well (apparently), as the works of e-mail with Outlook and I can access webmail very well...

It all started a week before, I don't know why!

    Hello

Thanks for your help - the problem has now been fixed.

I think the problem has to do with DNS records that I did a Checkup and Diagnostics said that the Reverse DNS was not correctly install, and after some research, I've added a PTR to the mail server.

    p. ex. x.x.x > mail.x.net

    mail.x.NET > x.x.x

When I sent a message to my desktop client to another e-mail address, he said that my email has been updated with the index etc. As the spam filters recognize not (very probably) where my mail came, and this is probably the question with setting up email to work with the BlackBerry!

Everything works now, probably a problem common among others - thanks for your help, much appreciated.

  • Question of synchronization for the certificate of blackBerry Smartphones

My 8330 wants certificates with Synchronization Manager (don't think I have) and I tried to put the 0000 password. Did not work, 9 times, now he says as if I do it again and do not type the password he will wipe my pocket... eeeak.

Anyone know how to disable this sync or what would be the password?

0000 is the key for Bluetooth.
You mean the key store? If this is the case, simply click Cancel. It is useful if you have specific X.509 (electronic signature) certificates.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones email / gmail folders / labels on Blackberry Storm

All the folders/labels on my gmail account, for example, all e-mail, do not appear on my Blackberry Storm. I have a personal account, not business and I am not associated with an Enterprise Server. All these displayed on my iPhone. I had to switch to Verizon because I move somewhere that AT & T has horrible service.

I'm getting used to the storm and starting to like it, but it is ridiculous to have to memorize all my mail in the Inbox.

    Can someone please help.

    Thank you

    Hello

on the iPhone, GMail is available via a web application (meaning: in fact yo use a dynamic Web site that calls the Apple's Safari browser).
It's the same on devices such as the HTC Magic or HTC Dream Android.

on all other smartphones, you can also go to a very webmail, or you can download GMail for Mobile.
the BlackBerry version can be downloaded by you: use the browser on your BlackBerry and go to http://m.google.com/mail .
Who will install a new email client which can go to GMail email. You can access your labels, do Google searches on your GMail account, put stars, have threaded discussions and so on.

In addition, you can also install Google Talk and use it. Your chat history is stored in your GMail account in the section of cats.

  • Email for blackBerry Smartphones application is greyed out on BlackBerry desktop software.

I have the Blackberry desktop software version 4.5 installed on my computer. I can't access the E-mail application because it is grayed out. When I try to access it I get an error message "this computer does not have his account address message. The messaging system is not configured properly or this e-mail system is not supported. "I use outlook for my email. I have a BlackBerry Curve 8330. It is updated with version 4.5. The software recognizes the phone. All other programs are available.

It's on a computer at home?  It seems that you have installed the desktop using the BES software / redirector option.  Redirector is designed to work with a server exchange; If you are using your home PC with a POP/IMAP e-mail address, the best solution would be to reinstall the Desktop Manager using BIS (located in the Setup Wizard), and then use the Blackberry Internet Service to configure your POP/IMAP e-mail.  With this configuration, you will over see the e-mail settings icon because it will no longer apply.  When you use the redirector on a computer that is not on an exchange server, you can receive messages on your device that say "this message is used to carry data between the blackberry and the server... ", which can be quite annoying.

  • BlackBerry lost emails from my BB Curve 9300 Smartphone

Hello, it's already 3 or 4 times I lose all of my emails for a week! This means that I usually have all my emails from last 3 months (as I put it to keep 90 days), but all of a sudden, from one minute to the next I see only those in recent days.
If I do a search on the remote control, for a topic or email address, I can see all the and add them to the device that I still have in my PC running Outlook and that my BB is synchronized. However after a few weeks they all disappear again.
Would it be because of the lack of memory of my camera and how do I fix it? Thank you very much for the help.

Well, on a trip, it is notoriously difficult to study and solve problems with a mobile device. In general, all attempts at resolution required the device on his home network carrier and with access to admins BES to do things. In fact, I recommend that you don't do anything, while traveling... This could be done could actually cause more harm.

Fortunately, as you say, you have not really lost something... you said at the outset that the items remain on your PC in Outlook available. It's a good thing.

Your BES admins are really the only ones who can see this. If they need assistance, there is a separate section of the site where they may seek the advice of other administrators of BES.

    Good luck!

Then, run the manual upgrade with desktop software.

  • BlackBerry Smartphone email account validation problems

I use my BB Bold 9780 for the past 2 years and it has fortunately been send and receive emails for 2 accounts (my work and my personal one, outlook.com).

3 days ago the phone suddenly stopped to access my mailbox outlook.com and threw a message 'emails are not delivered to your device that resume services validate your password'. I went into the Setup program, entered my password and just got the error message "your device has encountered a problem with the application server. I repeated several times and received the same message. I was at my outlook.com account via my PC and tried to turn on and off the POP - not be joy. My work account still works fine.

I also tried to remove the outlook.com account so I can reset, but just get the message "Cannot delete" So I'm stuck. Any ideas?

Many problems associated with the implementation of an e-mail account on your phone or validate a password can be resolved by typing www.blackberry.com/integrate in your phone's browser and from there. You could also contact your carrier, EA and ask questions about access to their website self-service of BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service). From there, you can post the accounts add new and remove those that you do not want to use. This is useful if ever you cannot access it from your phone to perform these functions. BIS ERA self-service site is http://ee.blackberry.com .

Give it a shot and report with your results.

  • Curve blackBerry Storm Smartphones vs

Any thoughts on the storm? I'm new to bb and prob could not even afford to move as I am not anywhere near an all new the 2 face - but I was wondering what were the benefits to the storm, features, etc compared to the curve...

have a blessed day and I'll sit back and read the answers.

I waited for the "BOLD" or the storm that will be released in the United States for months ("BOLD" came out everywhere else)!  My curve was a year old and starting to fall out of use, so I had to get a new one last week.  I finally upgrade the OS 4.5.0.81 (on T-Mobile), and I'm very happy with the improvements!  Some of the things I like about the storm & "BOLD" are now available for the curve users upgraded, such as:

    -Functions of video broadcast

    -VCR

    -improved browser

-HTML email for accounts not BES (I already paid for a HTML Viewer!)

-.doc and .xls editing capabilities via the Documents To Go

-Improvement of the BB Media Player (Playlists can now be created on the device, which is HUGE!)

To specifically answer your question, here are some of the benefits of the storm, in my humble opinion:

    -Best camera - 3,2 Mpx vs 2.0MP

-Touch screen which is the best on real market w/BB click technology (many users hate the iPhone touch)

    -More rapid processer

-Storage capacity most out of the box (Althouogh I can now buy a microSD 16 GM for my curve as it is on OS4.5)

-Orientations of w/portrain & landscape widescreen high resolution.  As good or better than the iPhone!

    -Network 3G super fast support!

-Data AND voice functions!  Talk on the phone while sending/receiving e-mail.  It is only available for curve users who are on a WiFi network today.

Now that I look at the list of improvements, the storm beat the pants off the curve, but I am happy that the new BlackBerry OS fills the void a bit.  It is not quite as urgent for me to rush out and buy the storm on the first day it came out.  I think I'll wait a week now...
