Question TMS (14.3.1) of directory.

Hello

When you set up ' phone book server 1 "in the endpoint, I found a problem.". "

I put the phone book server in endpoint as URL of TMS. If it was like http://xx.xx.xx.xx/tms/public/external/phonebook/phonebookservice.asmx (xxx indicates the IP address of the TMS)

But I decieded to use the DNS server to ensure interoperability with TMS. Then Server TMS now has the DNS domain name.

Also I updated the value of domain address "1 phone book server URL" in the endpoints and it was like http://abc.efgh.com/tms/public/external/phonebook/phonebookservice.asmx (abc.efgh.com specified address field of TMS).

As directory services are a TMS, I made this change. However, after some time, this directory server URL has been changed to automatically IP address.

I tried a different way to set the address of field of MSDS, but all failed. DNS host name has been fully qualified.

I still don't understand why this problem happened. It's something like a bug.

Here's my try:

1. check if the "default configuration for the discovered systems model" could harm the subject.

-activate/deactivate or activate with fillng domain address in the value of the "URL of the server to the phone book 1. But it does not at all on this subject.

2. check if the "apply Manangement System parameters" could adversely affect this topic.

-Records as 'No', but it does not affect at all on it.

3. check if the "connectivity for systems system update" could adversely affect this issue.

-Set the value as "manual." But it does not at all on this subject.

4. I join the General settings in TMS as the configuration of the phone book.

Is there someone who has the same problem or workaround for him? should I open a case... ?

Kind regards

Paul.

Would have been nice if you could have done the same thing since the final point, but I don't think that it is possible to run nslookup from the admin, log in using SSH, might be able to do root-never tried, so don't know.

However, if wireshark watch TMS evenly sending IP address instead of the FULL domain name, then it might be time to prosecute TAC.

  • Question TMS and conductor - conferences to improve safety by using conference

    Hi people,

    Currently, I implement some projects involving Cisco Telepresence conductor and I was wondering the benefits that conductor brings to the video network, it's really a great solution!

    Discover the benefits of the conductor, I created the following deployment:

    It works very well! The customer is very satisfied with the level of security when using this deployment. Their multi-point conferences is safer now.

    Well, when I created this topology I considered not how the environment would work when planning conferences, with TMS and conductor because this client has yet to TMS. Then, I was just shocked when I opened the TMS deployment guide e conductor and find the following statement:

    Note: The exposed conductor TelePresence conference type is not supported in Cisco TMS. Only models conference using the conference meeting type are supported.

    Page 13 - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/telepresence/infrastructure/tms/config_guide/TelePresence_Conductor_with_Cisco_TMS_Deployment_Guide_XC1-2_TMS14-1.pdf

    I almost jumped the bridge... Now, I know that my great topology no longer works with TMS.

    Well, here are my questions:

    Why do we have this limit?

    That Cisco plans to fix this?

    The guide is related to the conductor XC1-2 and 14-1 TMS, something has changed in TMS 14.2.2 and XC2.1?

    I'd appreciate any help really, really!

    Thanks in advance.

    Agreed! The driver of the telepresence really is a great product.

    Why do we have this limitation?

    Because the feature was never implemented on the side TMS. It was decided that the other characteristics are more important and should be a priority. There is nothing on the type of conference 'Read' which is inherently incompatible with the TMS, but work needs to be done first.

    Examples:

    • The control of conference centre: you will probably see the entries in double Conference if you are using a 'read' conference
    • TMS does not differentiate between the presidents and guests during the creation of scheduled conferences 'Conference' on the conductor.

    None of them are very difficult to solve from a development point of view, but they are not trivial to apply or test either.

    Does Cisco have plans to fix that?

    Nothing specific is planned, don't. As always: if it is a problem to your customer, make a request to feature through your account manager or another Cisco point of contact.

    The guide is related to Conductor XC1-2 and TMS 14-1, has any thing been changed  in TMS 14.2.2 and XC2.1?

    Conductor XC 2.1 and TMS 14.2.2 is a combination not supported, but nothing has been changed to

    2.2 XC and 14.3 TMS: types of conference 'Read' are not yet supported.

  • Questions after you have moved the directory \temp Win.

    I just got a new computer with a SSD boot drive where programs are installed.  I move the Windows temp directory (Windows 7) to the secondary drive to avoid much of the writing on the SSD drive.  This has caused problems with Photoshop CS6.

    The first problem was the opening of the program.  I would like to get a "cannot open cache file' then 'failed to initialize the cache file".  This was solved by changing the properties to "Run as Administrator".  It works, but dang I get this stupid user control dialog box every time.   The question here is; is there another way to deal with this?

    Second problem.  I notice that I can are more made drag an image from the Win Explorer to the photoshop work area.  I have to go really OPEN the file in the file menu.  I can't even click with the right button on the file and choose open.  Major concern.

    Thanks for any help for this.  I hope that I can't back up the temp directory.  There may be an environmental variable that I can add to Windows?

    Thanks to a bouquet.

    Sue

    Looks like you're updating all the registry entries that point to the temporary directory on the system, and Photoshop was trying to access the old location.

  • Report the user in Question TMS Cisco CDR

    Hello

    Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

    I know that you can run the RDC in Cisco TMS user report, however, that draws its stats for all users within TMS. Is there a way to group users in a model may be to only run the report on these users?

    Thank you!

    Hello Mike.

    It is not possible to the users group when you run the CDR of the user report, it appears that all users.  The only option I see, you can do this, is to export the report to an Excel spreadsheet and manually group users as you want.

    If this is something you would like to see, you can contact your Cisco account manager and ask them to create a feature request for you.  However, with most devices that this report is based on (ie: video Jabber for TelePresence, EX60/90, E20), most to soon be EOS if not already, I doubt that they incorporate such an improvement.

  • TMS directory system endpoints source folder

    Hello

    I came across a rather baffling problem with a few cases of TMS and I can't for the life in me know as to why this is happening.

    I get the following.

    in the option for creating source directory Cisco TMS, I create a new directory and link with the MSDS files and select the folder where all the end points, this creates the entries in the phone book for me as I expect with one exception, I will detail below.

    H.323 = [email protected] / * /

    H.323 = [email protected] / * /< this="" is="" where="" the="" issue="">

    IP = IP address

    I find that on some systems (this doesn't happen to all systems) in the second entry of H.323, the H.323 entry where I expect to see the directory (also known as E.164 number) number I see a URI where a field has been added at the end of the number, I'll give you a few examples below.

    DN = 1234

    set field = @video.net

    random field = @newdomain.com

    IP = 10.10.10.1

    I expect to see the following.

    H323 = [email protected] / * /

    H323 = 1234

    IP 10.10.10.1

    but I don't actually see

    H323 = [email protected] / * /

    H323 [email protected] / * /

    IP 10.10.10.1

    I have purged the TMS systems and added, I searched through the xconfig for the NouveauDomaine which is invalid and I can't find anything anywhere other than on the list of areas configured SIP VCS parameters in the second area, endpoints have disabled by default SIP and in both cases I expect to see that under a SIP entry not an H.323 entry

    This is the origin of the problem of when a user tries to call via the Directory site remote also responds to busy VCS is unable to find the appropriate directory number because the location request contains the domain as well as the DN.

    I worked around this by adding a transform to the VCS who sees the patter of specific numbering and the bands of the area, so the calls work, but I still need to understand as to what is causing this behavior.

    If I had to create the directory entries by importing information from the record of the VCS seem to be correct, its only when I try to import the entries of the endpoint via the system folder in TMS (or more exactly to import the information stored in the file on the endpoint system) I see the problem.

    a very popular Adviser.

    See you soon

    Dave

    Hello

    Picked up that the case with David and it seemed that at least on the systems the international denomination on the mxp MXP has been configured. The area of intellectual property also has a configured domain uri that has caused the other symptoms. We where able to erase the questions but still yet to see if the client is actually affected by the same configuration "mistakes".

  • Check if the TMS directory is accessible from codec

    Hi all

    I'm starting a new configuration of telepresence. I have problems with directories. Seems that codec are not even trying to search the TMS directory.

    How can I check if the codec is configured to query the directory TMS?

    In "Advanced-> directory server 1 Configuration" ID has the default value, type MSD and URL to http:///tms/public/external/phonebook/phonebookservice.asmx

    When users press the directory key in remote control no shows, only my Contacts.

    Thank you

    Concerning

    Thanks for the update - the question is usually a proxy or a firewall - your endpoints need to have direct access to port 80 on the box of TMS on the subnet, they are on.

  • Hi, anyone know if I can get the directory to MX200 without TMS?

    We have VCS - C and VCS-E only, no CUCM and TMS, just don't want to know if we can make working at MX200 directory or 300.

    Thank you

    Kevin

    Hi, you can create up to 100 or so entries in the local telephone directory. Then you can copy the pb across to the other endpoints, but without the tms will not get the directory company. And the local telephone book is a work of endpoint of pr job. If you want a more flexible solutiom, you should acquire the tms

  • TMS Type of update directory: search only

    Currently, we have two telephone directories that "import us in TMS' of their source of the telephone directory, but you want to change the settings for"Search only"due to the length of this particular directory.  I know that rather than display all entries in the phone book in a huge list like it does when it is set to import, to search to pull up to the entrance they want.  In what way, if any will to change this setting has no effect on demand conferences that use this particular directory if it is set to import or search?

    Thank you!

    If the directory is set to "Search only", you will not be able to use these contacts in regular conterences.

    -Zac

    * UPDATE *.

    You will be able to add the contact to the conferences, but TMS will display 'Entry deleted directory' for contact when go back watch the Conference. TMS also displays a warning if you view the connection tab for the routing of the call of the Conference details. I confirmed this today, and I filled a defect with regard to this. CSCui45154 The default is new, so it will not be publicly visible.

  • Import and export directory for CUCM and TMS

    How can I configure TMS and CUCM use of TMS directory for an endpoint registered to CUCM? I've added to TMS but and TMS can shoot CUCM Phonebook, but how does he see the directory for other infrastructure in TMS to fill in the directory of CUCM CUCM?

    If the endpoint of telepresence is running TC7.0 or later, you can configure in CUCM using TMS as a source of spare phone book, there are also TMS 14.4.  Refer to the Administration of the TC on CUCM 10.5.1 endpoints (TC7.2) on page 24 for more information.

  • Active Directory + ACS Remote Agent

    I have a camera ACS (3.2). I understand that I need to use a remote ACS agent installed preferably on a domain controller, Windows authentication. My question is: if I use Active Directory, can I not use external user databases and configure generic LDAP with the appropriate settings to access Active Directory? So I wouldn't need a remote agent? Or I have to use external user databases and configure the databases Windows (which means using an external remote agent? Or I can choose two methods? His confusion as active Direcory cann support for pre-2000 windows domains and I do not know which method of mapping of external user database to use.

    My apologies, missed the word "apparatus" in your original post.

    You can probably do this use anyway, I guess, even though we suggest using a Remote Agent with the Windows DB. If you are not going in this direction, make sure your security permissions (http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/access/acs_soft/csacsapp/raig/rawi.htm#642394)

    I've had users use the LDAP with Windows Ad database before and it works very well, the only difference (IIRC) is you don't get all the group maps of Windows with this method, but for the authentication of the user only, it should work fine.

  • ISE 1.2 Active Directory issue

    Hello

    I have a question about the use of Active Directory as a Source of external identity.

    Our client has 4 servers in their field and so 4 DNS entries for the domain. When I join ISE domain DNS resolves an address and use this machine to perform the join operation. What happens if the machine breaks down afterwards - my node ISE should leave and then re - join the domain or is managed by another method?

    Thank you

    Alan

    Assuming that they are part of the same domain ISE ad will learn all the domain controllers in the domain and you'll probably find after a while that it attributed to a different domain controller. We have more than 100 DCs in our area and it works fine, no intervention is required so that it can connect to a different domain controller so that it connected to disappears.

  • ACS in the Active Directory environment

    Salvation of the forumers

    Ask,

    question 1. in the typical active directory environment and make wireless/wired authentication of 802. 1 x on the endpoints, GBA should join as a domain computer?

    question 2. for the endpoint of the domain (domain computer) join, in this case is that endpoint will approve (also computer domain) GBA?

    question 3. What happens if there is a GPO policy to install the certificate rootCA to endpoints. In this case, the ACS should deliver CSR and let the domain CA signed the certificate of identity? Am I wrong?

    Answers

    question 1. in the typical active directory environment and make wireless/wired authentication of 802. 1 x on the endpoints, GBA should join as a domain computer?

    Yes, since most of the protocols used by the endpoints is peap (eap-mschapv2) this is the only way to get this working, as ldap does not support this Protocol. If you are using eap - tls, you can choose to use AD as an LDAP store.

    question 2. for the endpoint of the domain (domain computer) join, in this case is that endpoint will approve (also computer domain) GBA?

    Once the authentication is successful (assuming that the authentication of users) the machine will have free access to the junction to the field network, if authentication workhorse of the workstation must be reached already before being put to the dot1x network. The workstation approves only GBA with the certificate for authentication, there no other information and does not know if she is part of the domain.

    question 3. What happens if there is a GPO policy to install the certificate rootCA to endpoints. In this case, the ACS should deliver CSR and let the domain CA signed the certificate of identity? Am I wrong?

    Group Policy to the endpoints for the CA root should not be a problem, but it would be better to have your sign of CA root REA ACS, if that's what you're asking. You must also enable a GPO to validate the server certificate (but I've not done this before, but I don't know that there is on which root CA trust).

  • TMS import does not AD users

    I have problems to import AD users in the TMS. In the Active Directory section, I value Allow AD groups Yes and I was able to import an AD Group, but when one in this group there is here no user in there.

    I tried to connect with a user, then click Update groups of ads on the page of the group, but again, no user group.

    Any which have already faced this?

    Since you said you used local accounts, I assume that you have never used the AD accounts so far. If your TMS is not already a member of your AD domain name, you will need to add it, as TMS relies on IIS to authenticate, and THEY don't know how to authenticate your users, unless it is in the field (or in a domain with a trust of the user's domain relationship). If the TMS is already a member of your domain, you might have an IIS issue, in which case you should refer to Section 9 of the Troubleshooting Guide for the TMS.

  • TMS background event could not complete successfully due to an error.

    I get email once a day of TMS with this problem. Anyone know what this means?

    If you look at the article from the event log, it tells you exactly what the issue is:

    Could not update system with IP address x.x.x.x and name xxx.  No contact with the system.

    This means that the TMS could not update the directory that is assigned to this endpoint, because it might be offline or TMS uses an old IP address when it tries to him are provided.

    The message saying "Some, but not all systems updated" means that TMS was able to update the directories on any other endpoints without problem.

    make sure that you create the directory only:
