Question Vista - Windows XP to Vista basic upgrade?
Can I switch from Xp Pro to Vista basic?
Hello
I think you should take a look at this topic:
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=17938
Microsoft has started a program to upgrade for users who have purchased your new computer with Microsoft Windows XP or only the OS Win XP.
This offer is valid if you bought a PC preloaded with genuine Windows XP between 26 October 2006 and 15 March 2007.

Phone L40 (PSL43E) Pro - upgrade to Windows 7 Vista Basic
Hello
I was throughout the forums and have not really found the answers I was looking for.
I did a new install of Windows 7 on my L40 but I get questions with bsod, random blocks etc so I thought it was time I did something. When I did the installation initially he wasn't any official Windows 7 drivers download (which I see now there).
I was wondering if someone had made the trip from Vista Basic to Pro 7?
And if so if you upgrade the BIOS (like updating the BIOS description States it is for Windows Vista only?) and if there is anything that I might need to know (as I see that a few people have been complinaing to post the update of the dead motherboard?).Also, the expression "Value package" keeps popping up on the forum, I can see that there is a download of Windows 7 for this although the description to download again claims that it is for use with Windows Vista only?
I'll be happy to write to the top a complete race for future reference is that I could get a few more "confirmed" information
Any help would be appreciated.
Hello
To be honest I m L40 not owner but I installed Windows 7 on my old Win XP laptop and it works even if Windows 7 was not official published for this device.
Usually nothing should be wrong, that you can download here the VAP for Win 7, which was released for other series of mobile most recent. The VAP does not depend on the series notebook its compatible with all models.
There are also a lot of users in the Satellite L forum which has installed Win 7 on the L40 and it works correctly.

Upgrade Vista Home Basic to Vista Business w/service pack 1... Vista upgrade disk is a DVD of Microsoft licenses, requiring that a product of Volume (turnkey) license...
During installation, there is no demand for the product key... installation starts immediately, going up to and then the message... "windows has encountered a problem and can not go further"...
Why the product key is not claimed and this is the reason why it stops the upgrade process?
One last question for you, Mick... What is the Vista Business upgrade good because if not go from the simplest business?

Unable to upgrade to Windows Vista Basic to Windows XP on hp pv6000

upgrade vista basic to windows xp on hp pv6000 and my wireless is not wrking nor showing in my taskbar please help
Hello
Vista to XP is a downgrade!
After installing XP, did you get XP drivers on HP website? See...
http://WWW8.HP.com/UK/en/support-drivers.html
.. .to locate your particular model, then download and install the XP drivers (if there no, no guarantee if your PC comes with Vista originally).
I tried the model number you gave, but there are 41 possible matches, so I think that pv6000 is a "series" rather than a specific model number.

Upgrade vista basic to Windows 7 and keep the WEP key
Hello. My current setup is windows Vista Basic and I have a WEP key on my pc, but have lost the hard copy. I want to move to W7, but do it by steps by going on Vista buisness then W7. Is there anyway I can make and keep my network settings, because if I lose the WEP key I will be not able to access my Wireless hub and will be with the internet.
I mean, that is, if I update rather than clean install that it will keep the network and password parameters. Thank you

How do I restore my computer to windows vista basic
Hello
Here are the different ways to reinstall vista
Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it
they do it for a nominal cost of $
also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought
you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer
Ask them of the exact key sequence
or borrow a microsoft dvd vista
Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer
they contain all versions of vista
This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

Save all data, because it will be lost, do the above

Installation of Windows Vista Basic 32-bit
Hello, I try to install windows vista basic 32 bit edition on an old laptop. He had originally windows vista basic 32-bit edition.
I have the windows install key.
The laptop's hard drive was fried and I do not make a backup of the operating system, also, he came with a "factory default disk" or the windows recovery disk.
It came with a windows anytime upgrade disc ' ", he said can repair a current installation of windows, or install the operating system.
Hard drive, I have currently in there has a version of vista business and the timer is exhausted, there also some conflicts pilot being that the hard drive has come to a laptop different and some aspects of drivers and other software refuse to be deleted.
My question would be: can I install windows vista basic 32 bit with the disk at any time to upgrade, if yes how?
Thank you
I discovered that you can indeed install windows with the upgrade disk.
My laptop is now in good working condition.

Don't arrive after Vista Ultimate Upgrade Windows Update to download SP1 for Windows Vista
I have 2 computers were pre-installed with Vista Edition family content and Basic Service Pack 2. Due to a new system of distribution to come in I had to upgrade to Vista Ultimate. I bought the DVD upgrade containing all Service Packs. After removing the Service Pack 2 and Service pack 1 (in that order) Windows Update will not download Service Pack 1
You have made or has not upgraded Vista Basic to Vista Ultimate computers?
That said, Windows Update has nothing to do with upgrading a Vista computer.

Windows Vista Basic has been freezing after sitting idle in normal mode and safe mode.
Windows Vista Basic and was freezing after sitting idle in normal mode and safe mode. A few months ago, we had this problem and I replaced the hard drive. It was fine for a bit, but is distributed upward. The time that it will sit idle are shortened. I did a scan for malware and removed everything that was out there, obviously this isn't the hard drive and it is used for the most part just internet and e-mail, no new programs have been loaded since the new hard drive.
