  As far as I know that the Wireless LAN is optional on this unit. This means that the appliance has been delivered without wireless card, but it s can put the card in the laptop.

  I had Satellite P10 for the year 2003. So please don't get me wrong, but you have 6 years book, designed for Windows XP Home edition and now you ask you cannot find drivers for Win7.

  What you can do? Nothing. This oldie is not supported for Win7.
  Use the operating system that is supported and to be happy. If you want to use a more recent software I think it's time for the most recent material. ;)

  Satellite P10 is also really nice and absolutely reliable laptop.

  I got a Satellite P10 554, and as I said above the RAM does not work.
  It should be a software problem, because if I reinstall the drivers it works a few minutes (it did until now yesterday it stopped completely)

  The error message says it all. I think you re not able to update the firmware because the firmware is not supported on this drive.

  Try to remove the drive from Device Manager, and then shut down the laptop.
  Usually after restarting again the operating system should recognize the drive again.

  Hmm, if you have tested the laptop with Win XP and W2K then I guess that you have installed the two OS on this laptop and it was possible to install it?

  Sorry to say but if the laptop is unable to load the operating system the hardware would be a malfunction.
  I think you should first check the memory modules, then the HARD drive. Maybe one of the modules does not work correctly or some bad sectors can cause the problem.

  got the P10 554, with Windows XP Home Edition. Since I have my own copy of XP Pro and need additional components, which are NOT part of the home ed., I tried to update.

  Works fine until the point where it says "Starting Windows". The progress bar runs out, the screen goes black and not more disk access hard and CD.

  As far as I know Satellite P10 and P20 have removable optical drive. You can remove the CD/DVD drive and put it inside the floppy drive and use it as first boot device.

  I bought a Toshiba laptop as for my study Mediadevelopment a year and half ago. I got Toshiba Satellite L855 edition.

  When I received my order, I was very happy with it and I knew that I would succeed on this nice unit programming.

  After 3 weeks of use, I already had a scratch right next to the camera. And I must admit I really handled the phone with care. I ordered a case of neck and he had with me in a laptop bag. The display goes just in black, and aint there is no way to fix it, but to restart my computer and that is very annoying when you are programming.

  The fan on my AMD card also gets really hot while doing nothing. I know how to check if there are a lot of processes running, but it heats up by simple same process (it's even my glass cool soda Cook until temperature hot lol!)

  And now also the reason why I ask for your support here, when I close the lid of my laptop. It closes smoothly... There is a crackling sound and the back cover looks like it rises while I close the lid.

  Now after all I lost a little hope in my notebook. And I repeat, that I really handled it with care... I don't even dare to walk with her while she is closed in my hand.   Control Panel > power options > change the power plan settings > power plan advanced options > Toshiba power Saver saver > cooling method change for optimized battery
