Questions about Satellite P200D battery charging

Hi all
I bought my satellite in March 2008, and after some initial problems with the result having replaced, I have finally been sorted and have had very few problems since. However, in recent days, this is all changed. My battery is now practically refusing to load and run not power off. At the moment its operation off power supply and load, but for the past hour its been hurtling battery.

What going on it when I plug in the AC adapter, the light making goes blue and seeing power begins blue and flashing orange (constantly between the two colors) and the battery light flashes orange. The HARD drive light is also blue.

I don't know if the problem is the battery or another problem with the power actually do to the computer. The fact that it fits as being plugged in all time leads me to believe that the power adapter is not the issue, while its battery not wanting to take new service charges, or another issue with the laptop not properly in the face of the power to be.

Someone at - it ideas? I scoured google and have not been able to find anything on this problem. I bought the laptop through Curry, but I don't want to pay a pound and a half a minute to talk to The Tech Guys, when they most likely wasting time asking me if I rebooted it.

Looks like there could be a hardware problem. Take it to an ASP for warranty repair.

I heard that when the lap top is the power of the adapter, that there is no need battery, you can take off from the top of the tower and keep right on adapter without battery.
    Is this true?

If the AC adapter is plugged you don t need the battery, that of right, but you do need to no delete it.

For example, I often work with AC/DC adapter but I never remove the battery.

  • Satellite 1130 battery charge problem

Hi, just joined this site. I have a Satellite 1130 and seem to have a battery charging problem. Every so often, without regular pattern or a set of events to help the machine starts beeping and the Red charge blinks, as if the battery charge runs out, it is, but it happens when the charger is plugged - green power light shows that it is connected, but it is not the battery. The only solution I found is to turn the power off, disconnect the battery and back again. Then everything works until the next time.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

It is possible that there is a problem of electronic power supply. If the power supply microcontroller detects an error lamp DC IN sends a code flashing (8-bit error code). Can you please check it if the led blinks 8 times sending the code?

You can try to contact the Service partner, explain the problem and I'm sure they can give you a clear explanation.

  • Questions about Satellite P10 554

    Hello

I have 2 questions about my P10-554. I read on this forum but can't find anything that helps out me.

    First of all:
When I try to turn the unit off after working, using even the closing of xp function or the power button, windows normally quit, but when it needs to turn off just reboot again. If I repeat the closing down directly after this restart, normally it turns off.
This problem occur only when I use the power supply in battery mode.
I can't say that to me...

    Second:
I have a mini PCI Wlan card for my unit, works very well, but I wonder if it is possible to get the Wlan switch switch work whith it? Or is it only possible whith some special maps? It is not so important, but it would be nice to know if there is a trick or something to get the switch used.

    Best regards

    Hello

    Regarding your first question;
I'm a bit confused of m are sure you n t use the restart option?
I never noticed anything like that on my laptop

Usually, if I use the Shut down option, I can choose between standby, hibernation, restart and shutdown. If I use the stop that the laptop turns off as it should.
Maybe it's time to s for a reinstallation of the OS?

    On the second question.
The switch on the left side for laptop was designed and developed to pass on the WLan card antenna.
Usually, you should be able to use this switch and to toggle WLan card functionality

Don t understand why it should not work?  :|

  • Satellite R830: Question about power for battery usage options

    Hello world

I recently bought a R830-182 (detailed configuration below).
I had to update Windows 7 Home Premium Ultimate because I need to use it on my university network.

My University gives us an upgrade to windows 7 ultimate edition, but I had to do a clean install (from inside Windows 7 Home Edition, copy the upgrade you can do).
The key, with what they gave me would not work with the Windows anytime upgrade utility.

I think that I have installed everything that I need to get the laptop to work, but I'm not sure of the configuration of the battery. The cooling fan seems to be always on, and when the battery reaches 100% charge that he also said that he is in charge.

    My questions are:
    1. is there another program I have to install to allow the computer manage settings of the battery?
    2. do I need to change some settings in the power options?
3 should. what settings I change in power options?

    Any help would be welcome
    Kind regards
    Alex

  • Question about Satellite C55 - has battery

My battery is never charged over 59%. It says "plugged in, load", but no. load more than 59%. C55 - A satellite

One of the reasons why the battery doesn't charge. could be activated Eco charge mode.

    More details:
    http://www.MyToshiba.com.au/support/items/FAQ/847

But I think that if you have already activated this option, the question might be linked to the failure of the battery.

The laptop is still covered by the warranty?
If Yes, you can try to contact a service center to verify and if necessary to replace the battery.

  • Satellite U series: Question about bypassing the battery when connected on AC

Hi, I am a bit newbie to PC Toshiba laptop (series U) and I was wondering if my laptop has this feature where it bypasses the battery when it is fully charged and the power supply cable is connected?
I see the battery blue led is on even when it is fully charged and the power is connected, it means that my computer is still using the battery?

I'm running a lot and I will not waste my battery life.
    Thanks for any comments.

    Hello

Congratulations on your new machine, I understand that worried you´re for your battery life. I was scared too, but a lot of people here in the forum told me that, in each new machine for many years (i.e. about 6 to 9 years) almost every laptop has an electronic charge that regulates the process of charge of the battery.

Don t worry, if your battery is fully charged, the built-in charging circuit is a special State that is as "cool cool" to maintain your battery and to protect the battery.
S better to keep the battery in the machine then removing it.

  • Question about Satellite Pro L100 battery

I have a Satellite Pro L100 with a model PA3450U-1BRS battery. My friend gave my number model PA342OU-1BRS L10 battery.

Would this work in my laptop? What means 4300mAh? Mine has 2000mAh? Thanks for any help.

    Hello

I don't know if it would work, the most important thing is that the tension specific to your machine. The battery fits in your machine (I mean in your battery housing?).

The mAh xxxx means the ability, so if you have more capacity then your machine will run longer on battery.

But if I were you I wouldn to experiment with my machine, because if you put the battery in the machine and batt damage your system, then you haven´t no warranty and your computer will become a heavy paperweight.

    See you soon

  • Question about the laptop battery and satellite L510

I have a Toshiba Satellite L510 and find the battery moves a bit - like 2mm so be it.
It is on the edge of the laptop, I suppose, but I was wondering if there should be no movement at all?

    Hello

On my two laptops from Toshiba battery cannot be moved, but the battery is locked and cannot be moved or deleted.
Your laptop satellite battery is too locked?

By the way: when you use the notebook on the desk, this movement is irrelevant and cannot have a negative influence on the power supply for computer laptop battery s.

    Hello

I found the same information, but I put t think you can use 4 hours. My opinion is that you can use it two hours. I recommend to set the CPU at a lower level and also check other settings like the brightness of the screen. If you set all these lower-level settings, you can save useful energy and work for long periods.

    Good bye

  • Different questions about Satellite L855

    Dear community of Toshiba...

I bought a Toshiba laptop as for my study Mediadevelopment a year and half ago. I got Toshiba Satellite L855 edition.

When I received my order, I was very happy with it and I knew that I would succeed on this nice unit programming.

After 3 weeks of use, I already had a scratch right next to the camera. And I must admit I really handled the phone with care. I ordered a case of neck and he had with me in a laptop bag. Even when the lid is closed there is small scratches around my laptop and it started to worry about what would happen.

While watching an episode of the game of Thrones. I noticed a red dot... just in the middle of the screen. And I don't want to be arrogant, but I have to say that it's not cool when you already have a failure of pixel using a laptop as about 1 month.

I received an update of a driver of my DVD player tray. And toshiba TEMPRO told me there was a BLUERAY drive in my notebook... but this was not true... Just another point that disappointed me.

I ordered an upgrade for Windows 8... So I was able to develop applications for Windows 8. It's a very nice OS BUT I can't use my brightness buttons yet more... The display goes just in black, and aint there is no way to fix it, but to restart my computer and that is very annoying when you are programming.

The fan on my AMD card also gets really hot while doing nothing. I know how to check if there are a lot of processes running, but it heats up by simple same process (it's even my glass cool soda Cook until temperature hot lol!)

And now also the reason why I ask for your support here, when I close the lid of my laptop. It closes smoothly... There is a crackling sound and the back cover looks like it rises while I close the lid.

Now after all I lost a little hope in my notebook. And I repeat, that I really handled it with care... I don't even dare to walk with her while she is closed in my hand. But those things so much that makes me sad. Just because of I still need to study 3 years more and had to pay a lot of money for this... I'm sad that sooner or later things will just get worse...

I therefore ask you guys, you people don't know what I can do?

    Kind regards

    PS: Sorry for my English!
    Jay

    Hi Jay

In general the notebooks are not so sensitive devices so I put t know how all this can happen, I mean with scratches and clicking noise. It is logical that laptop may not always be as good as new.
I handle my books carefully, too, but they are not in perfect condition more.
Cooling fan: try to reduce the activity of fan cooling cooling method to change option.
Control Panel > power options > change the power plan settings > power plan advanced options > Toshiba power Saver saver > cooling method change for optimized battery
This should reduce the activity of fan cooling.

    > Then I ask you guys, people you know what I can do?
It is not easy to give you the correct answer to this question. What you can try is to contact Toshiba service and ask for a tip. They should have experience with this, and they are in constant contact with Toshiba, so they should have enough information about the situation.

By the way: several people have reported on this message Tempro. You should not be disappointed on this matter. It is an automatic procedure and such errors may occur.

  • Satellite A660 - battery charging problem

Hello everyone. I have problem with my laptop to load for a while.

Laptop is charging for a few minutes and suddenly battery LED starts blinking pink, my battery is not reload then and I need to get out and reconnect the charger.

Sometimes, I need to do this once for two minutes.
Icon on the screen indicates that the battery is not supported and it is written how much % left. I've been looking for similar problems, but I didn't notice someone who speaks of the pink flashing LED.

Everyone guess what is the problem? Thank you very much.

    Hello

In think you should check out new battery.

Is that battery will begin to lose the performance after a certain operating time and sooner or later each battery needs to be replaced.

I m not quite sure about battery malfunction, but I guess that this part is easy to replace and should be checked in the first place

  • A few questions about Satellite L750 (PSK2YV)

Two weeks ago, I bought a new laptop

Can I remove the battery and use via the charger only

Is this the best or what?

    Another question

I noticed a slow device, why?

    > Can I remove the battery and use via the charger only
Yes, but I don t understand why you should do it.
    > Is this the best or what?
Better to do what? In my opinion you should not do this. Leave the battery inside.
    > I noticed a slow device, why?
    Which device? What is slow?

  • Satellite A - battery charging

I've had my laptop for about 4 years now and I just replaced the battery because it wouldn't hold any charge and must always be connected. The new battery I charge completely.

When I first on it in him would 65%, then the orange battery light went out and the laptop would say ' plugged in, but do not load. In recent weeks he began to arrive at 55%.

You can see a reason why this would be?

    Hey,.

Can you charge the battery when the laptop is turned off? The battery LED will indicate if the battery will be recharged (orange) or if it s already full (green). It work?
