Questions from Wifi, can't connect wireless phone

Yesterday, my router was working fine.  Then all of a sudden I can't connect to the network without using an ethernet cable.  I tried the reset of the router and restart my laptop and any troubleshooting must try.  Still not connect without using an ethernet cable.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  What is a wireless laptop computer if I can't use it :(

    First of all, do not use the installation CD ever.  Hold the button to reset at the back for 30 seconds.  Release and wait 30 seconds.  Cycle power to the router.  Connect via a wired computer to 192.168.1.1 empty user name, admin password.  Reconfigure your router manually.  Disable all security on the router and the laptop's wireless and try to connect.  If successful, go back and set up your security.
