Questions of G72 - "pinch" the Touchpad / compatible keyboard backlight

Currently, I bought a HP G72-B66US.  I just have a few questions.

  1. I am able to "pinch" on the Touchpad zoom?
  2. Y at - it a backlit keyboard to this model?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Right-click on the icon synpatics on the bottom right of the screen and you will find an option that says "gestures". Make sure that this option is disabled for all the different gestures like pinch and zoom, scrolling 1finger at work etc

  • J053ea HP Envy 17 - using the touchpad and keyboard simultaneously

I just bought the laptop of HP Envy 17 in Windows 8.

One problem I have is when running games such as Call of Duty, I need to be able to use the touchpad with the keyboard to control the game properly.  It seems that, once I have a key that is pressed, the computer does not accept any entrance of the touchpad until I release the key.

Will there be an option in the Panel, maybe I need to change to enable the simultaneous entry of keyboard and the touchpad?

    Thank you.

    Hello

This problem may be caused by a touchpad setting which is intended to avoid any accidental activation - for example if your Palm brush the touchpad when typing.

You can change this as follows.

Open windows control panel and on the top right, next to the display by: select "large icons".  In the new page layout, select the entry of Synaptics.

The hardware/software version will depend on real option that you're looking for (see the example below), but it is usually called 'check' Palm or Smart Sense'-disable this function and apply the changes.

  • WLAN on Tecra 9100 - LED should go orange if the s/w keyboard shortcut NOT installed?

I bought a Tecra 9100 that had been restored to XP SP1 and without good Toshiba utilities that most drivers seemed to be OK - for example screen OK but USB has been 1.1 until I added the Intel Chipset drivers.

I can't get the WLAN card to work by sliding the switch (close microphone) - also, it does NOT appear in Device Manager. I spotted a post below (which was locked) where Pedro said WiFi hotkey software must be installed to make it work. Two questions:

1 if the s/w keyboard shortcut IS NOT installed should always be able to mount the light Orange / appear in Device Manager
    2. is there an alternate download site because I tried 20 times in the last 15 hours at: http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/cmod-en-20070925121500.zip (for the common modules) and the site just seems to be 'dead' - nothing is received at all

Thank you very much in advance - I want to become a happy member of Tosh' club... Cheers, Brian R.

PS; The Tecra has a WiFi tag on the bottom and even a MAC address and I have not yet looked for nothing changed so much material.

+ For the use of WLAN, there are few requirements: +.
+ WLAN switch must not be broken or defective.
+ Wireless network card must be compatible one.
+ The WLAN antenna must be connected correctly.
+ Wireless network card must be installed properly (the right driver must be installed) +.

+ Wireless network card must be activated using the FN + F8 key combination (Wireless Hotkey V2.0.0.1 must be preinstalled) +.

    (1) first you should check if there is a yellow exclamation (unknown device) in device under network adapter Manager.
If you find any unknown devices in the network adapter section then your laptop was not equipped with WLan minPCI card!
The shortcut key has nothing to do with the WLan card status in Device Manager! The keyboard shortcut software only controls the function FN + F8.

  • How can I disable the touchpad on my laptop Pavilion dv4155cl?

I have a Pavilion laptop dv4155cl and HATE the touchpad, mainly because when you type on the keyboard, the keypad is just under my Palm of the right hand, and it hinders so try to type as the guard cushion see my Palm by tapping the touchpad, and mess substance upward. My old dv1000 was a dedicated switch just above the touchpad to turn, but this one isn't, and since I use a mouse exclusively in any case, I would just turn off the internal touchpad but don't know how? I tried to uninstall through Control Panel, but whenever I restart the computer Windows sees it as new hardware and reinstall... Can someone tell me please how to disable it without having to tear the thing apart and unplugging it physically?

BTW, I am running Win XP Home Edition SP3

Well, since I messed with it fo the day I managed to solve this myself :-) Here's what I did. First I went into the control panel and checked the properties of the mouse, I discovered that there are 3 displayed here, TWO who registered as a HID-Compliant mouse and the 3rd like PS2 Mouse. In reviewing the properties of each, I've found that BOTH HID devices had the ability to be either be enabled or disabled, and by disabling each of them in turn, I discovered that my USB mouse is turned off and the other turned off something else but neither off the touchpad, this left ONLY the PS2 Mouse to be the touchpad... so I looked at its properties and could find NO WAY within its property to disable tabs your device, then I noticed it's file of the pilot was very old, the way back in 201 actually, so I decided to try to update the driver, I have DID in selecting the automatic update, which was the recommended choice, after small time it found and installed a driver Alps dated in 2005 and he then told me he had to restart to the pilot would be usable. After that, I looked in the propertieds Alps & on one tab named others, there is a selection that says use Touchpad & PS2 Mouse, then when I unchecked this selection, the touchpad is now disabled and my USB mouse still works perfectly... Exactly what I wanteed. Of course, reselect this question in properties reactivates the touchpad, it gives me a convenient way to enable or disable the internal touchpd at will, so KUDOS to me... :-)

  • Re: Keyboard backlight does not work on Satellite A660-07U

    Hi guys,.

Ive recently had to reformat my laptop Toshiba Satellie A660-07U. The reformat was fine and everything seems to be in another order then the problem with the backlit keyboard im. Ive tried the fix key FN but ive been unsuccessful. Media buttons (play/pause, volume, etc. of the buttons next to the Start button) are also not turn on.

Can someone please help me solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance!

    > Ive recently had to reformat my laptop Toshiba Satellie A660-07U.
What did you do exactly? Have you installed original Toshiba recovery image?

Anyway, if I m remembering well the option for keyboard backlight is available in Toshiba HWsetup Toshiba HWsetup tool and check all tabs. One of them must be for lighting.

  • ThinkPad Edge E130 keyboard backlight?

I just got new ThinkPad Edge E130 (3358 - 5DG) as my portable secondary on the side of my trusty W520. When traveling / flying W520 etc is just a little too big, so I wanted to have a smaller unit that I use in these conditions. I know that Edge is not supposed to match the quality of the series W, but wouldn't give a try for this beautiful little unit.

Everything works pretty well, but the backlit keyboard (backlit keyboard) does not work. When you look at specifications of machine that it is clearly stated that the unit has keyboard backlight (which is a must for me), but there are also contained in fingerprint reader I know with certainty that it does not exist on this machine. Also it is visible in the pictures clearly has no fingerprint reader in any of the units E130 (which I didn't know and that you do not need either).

FN + space combination should set up the lights and it is also printed on the keyboard. Press this combination gives me symbol OSD 'ThinkLight OFF' (icon with ThinkLight and line above it) whenever I press on it, so I have never 'ThinkLight ON' symbol and nothing is really happening in the keyboard. I updated all the software, etc. of Lenovo, so it's all the more recent version. Situation was the same before and after the update.

So it seems that either A) my camera is faulty light keyboard or B) there is no light on the keyboard and standards applicable to devices are wrong on the Lenovo site.

I tried to find information on this problem for the web and some said forums that some models that don't have a keyboard light still have keyboards with the printed markings of it. I also called Lenovo support, but they were not able to answer me either, they said that they have some documentation showing that there are keyboard backlight, but also some documents without him, while they were not able to say what the problem is. I'm waiting for more information from them, but no idea how much time is it going to take.

If all of the ideas, can someone tell me how OSD works when you press Fn + combination of space when the unit is not equipped ThinkLight? My behavior is same as devices where there's no light on the keyboard and still print on the keyboard?

My unit specifications can be found here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_FI/product-and-parts/detail.page?DocID=PD024686

In standard: "ThinkLight keyboard light to illuminate the keyboard in order to improve visibility in low light conditions.»

lead_org is right, that your machine has no backlight or think-light.

The SPACEBAR key is printed with the light on all models.

    Hope this helps,

    Alex

  • I have a question wth the missing icon for the touchpad of Dell.

Original title: what happened to my Dell Touchpad icon under mouse properties

Normally, when I wanted to turn off/turn on my Dell Touchpad, I'm going to start, Control Panel, hardware, mouse and he was there with a big Ole icon to click to turn off.  It is causing me so many problems when I type and I use the keyboard, ever the touchpad.  However, it is a computer lent, I am and I need to know what happened.  The driver for the Touchpad is present under programs and it is up to date but that dag gum icon is no where.

I run for the Dell Touchpad and it can not find it anywhere.  Anyone know what happened or how I can get this icon back where the Touchpad can be disabled/enabled?

Any help will be appreciated.  Thank you and have a wonderful day. (I use Win 7 with IE10).

  • Keyboard appear incorrectly on the touchpad

The keyboard on my touchpad is display only partially. It looks a little bigger than before... (See photo 1 below)

I can't resize or move to the Center... However, it is still sensitive.

Does anyone know how to reset/recover it?

    Thank you!!

    Fig 1

    Update:

I spent together Saturday morning trying to solve this problem. I guess that's the nature of a developer... just can't let the problem go.

I went through the system (for example. Service restarted for tactile keyboard, change the display of the second parameter, etc.). The keyboard behaves differently, but still NOT correctly.

A flawed work around is to make the keyboard appear on the main screen and move it to the second screen, i.e. in this case the touchpad. The downside is that the keyboard is too big... Photo 2 and photo 3

    Photo 2

    Photo 3

    Finally it is resolved!

Uninstall the driver for the Wacom tablet... Restarting... Install the driver... Restarting...

The tactile keyboard on touch pad works perfectly now!

When the tablet was first installed on Sprout, they work very well together... There are a few recent update Windows or germs causing the lag... The lesson learned is that simply update the driver without uninstalling will not help... Next time when there is an update, I might need to go through the same process again...

Anyway, now I can have a good weekend!

  • Questions from the screen and keyboard on Satellite R830-181

    Hello

    I had exactly the same problem with it;
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=280934

I also explained what is it and how it over time in this topic.

To sum up; my screen and keyboard do not work in my Toshiba Satellite R830-181, 13.3 '' laptop.

    My questions;
    1. is it a motherboard problem?

    2. as it runs on an external monitor, I guess that the graphics card or processor is fine.
There is no damage on the screen, so I guess there is a problem with the connection of the power supply to the screen.

If I buy a new screen I have my doubts it will work.

I'll probably send it to the service tech in my country (hard to find here reliable technology services Toshiba), however, I would like to know what may be the cause and if I can fix it myself.

What do you think guys? It is a power issue or a problem with the monitor itself?
If a power issue or something else rather than the screen, how can be fixed?
Same question applies to the keyboard.

    3. If I repair or fix myself, you think it will happen again? Because I think that this could be a faulty laptop computer of a certain series of production since someone else has experienced the same thing with this model.

can 4 - there be a relationship between the non-functional keyboard and screen?

    5. If this can be resolved with a replacement of the screen, that I need to find a laptop screen Toshiba R830 or I can buy any 13.3-inch screen?

As far as I know this model is not supported by the company more, so it is quite difficult to find a screen R830.
It is difficult to find a 13.3-inch screen, anyway, but still, if I can use the screen of another model which would ease my problems.

I need an idea on that.
    Thanks :)

    > 1 - is it a motherboard problem?
Not easy to say: If the external monitor works correctly then this isn't problem chart/motherboard.
The external USB keyboard works properly, if not motherboard problem too.

    > 2 - because it works on a monitor external I guess graphics card or processor is fine.
    Yes, that's correct.

    > If I buy a new screen I have my doubts it will work.
I do not recommend to buy the new parts before the defective parts has not been verified.

    > I'll probably send it to the service tech in my country (hard to find here reliable technology services Toshiba), however, I would like to know what may be the cause and if I can fix it myself.
Good idea to send it to Toshiba service partner since the guys would be able to control parts and fix it.

    > What do you think guys? It is a power issue or a problem with the monitor itself?
If a power issue or something else rather than the screen, how can be fixed?
    > Same question goes for the keyboard.

Don t think someone can tell exactly what's causing this according to me its just a bad luck material can start malfunction happens in every possible branch of industries (TV, computer, smartphone, cars)

can > 4 - there be a relationship between the non-functional keyboard and screen?
No, the keyboard is only connected to the motherboard, display is also connected to the motherboard, but there is no connection between the keyboard and the display.

  • Satellite C850D-11 q - keyboard and the Touchpad does not

The laptop is a little more than a year and worked ok until recently.

Symptoms were the keyboard and the touchpad does not not on page 8 of windows logon. Pressing power to put the laptop into sleep and pressing still often got their work.

He progressed to the keyboard and the touchpad works do not randomly points while the use of the laptop.

Finally cleared the HARD drive and restored windows 8 alone, the laptop still BSOD quite frequently - refuses to install the updates required for 8.1 and the keyboard and mouse often do not work even in BIOS Setup page. I reinstalled the RAM and HARD drive.

Short of ideas, the keyboard and the touchpad work and so I guess that their connections are correct - but often they just stop.

    Any ideas appreciated?

    Thank you

    Hello

    > Finally cleared the HARD drive and restored windows 8 only
I hope that you created before Toshiba recovery disks you have formatted the system.
    Did you?

The recovery disks will allow you to reset the laptop to factory settings; on the same State as at the first day of the purchase.

    > First symptoms were the keyboard and the touchpad does not not on page 8 of windows logon. Pressing power to put the laptop into sleep and pressing still often got their work.
Well, usually the keyboard problems are not problems system or software as the keyboard driver is part of the system and an additional installation of some drivers is not really essential and necessary.
That is why in most of the cases the keyboard problems could be the causes of physical problems.

However, after using the recovery disc and the parameters of the laptop back to factory State, both parties (keyboard and touchpad) should work perfectly.

    > the BSOD laptop still quite frequently - refuses to install the updates required for 8.1
BSOD doesn't look very good. As mentioned above; parameters of the laptop back to factory settings should solve all the problems in the system. In the case where the BSOD appears even if the power has been turned back to factory State, a hardware problem could be the reason for this.

I had also some problems with the update 8.1 Win. The system to win 8 could not find the Win 8.1.
But the reason for this was simply. I had to install all updates to Win 8 and had to update the State system before trying to update to the next level following 8.1 Win

So, what can I say: I will try to put the laptop initial configuration using the recovery disk.
Then I would try to get automatic updates (a few reboots were essential too). After that, I would check the functionality of the keyboard and the touchpad. In the case where them parts would not work, I would contact the service to check if the two pieces.
