Questions of NOR-PCI-6010

Dear OR Tech Support,.

I'm working on a master's thesis which is on the order of a pneumatic positioning system. In fact I work with DAQ hardware first, so I don't know much. I need to produce 4-20 my for my valve actuation (5/3). If I understand well in the datasheet, I can't produce 4-20 my on PCI-6010. First, is it true? And if it is true, can I put a resistance which is 250 ohm in front of one of the outputs analog (1-5 V) valve drive and is it safe?

I found another solution to this subject. It is said that I can use an Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C) to solve this problem, but I don't think it's necessary because the PCI-6010 has already DAC, is it good?

Sorry to bother you with this simple problem, but I haven't found any other medium.

Thank you in advance.

Impossible to simply connect the resistor to AO 6010 and do drive 4-20mA for two reasons.

1 6010 AO can lead +-5mA only.

2. you did not load in the calculation and that would make current variant.

One possibility is to use the active voltage to current connection to 6010 AO converter found in http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Circuit_Idea/Op-amp_Inverting_Voltage-to-Current_Converter

    Sorry for this simple question.

We have a PCI-6010 in a Windows 7 machine.  DAQ MAX v5.5.0f0 running.  Device Manager sees it as an unknown device.  DAQ MAX sees it as "Windows was not a driver associated with your device" the guy who said in a said it installed perfectly.  Since then, he has installed a USB 3.0 PCI express.  I tried to reload the driver of all the ways that I never did in the past (he never finds the drivers even on the Driver DVD) and is still not recognized.

Anyone can remember by the missing piece of the puzzle?

    Thank you

The version of MAX is not relevant. You must install DAQmx and if you do not install, give the version number if you continue to have problems.

  • How to make your own Board BNC connector for 37 pins PCI-6010?

This is first time I am doing data acquisition and the BNC-2110 present can be connected to PCI-6010. How to make a Board for it?

I'm not sure what you mean by "some"; The BNC-2120 exposes all channels HAVE and AO on connector 0 of a standard feature of E, M or X series.

    • Eight BNC connectors are for eight differential channels of I. For example, for the BNC connector labeled 'I 0', the Center connects to the 'I 0' pine and the outside connects to pin 'HAVE 8'. (The BNC-2120 probably would not be a good choice for someone who wanted to use the channels in unbalanced mode).

    • Other two is for the analog output; the centres are ' AO 0' and 'AO 1' and transmissions are related to "AO GND".

    • There is another connector BNC for PFI 0; all other PFI (with the exception of the 10, 11 and 15) are broken down as screw terminals.

    • Other BNC connectors connect what either directly (the unit is powered by the + 5V line but otherwise works autonomously, and the "user defined signals' are connected to terminals to adjacent screws).

It seems like it wouldn't be difficult to have a cable that was going on a PCI-6010 the 37 pins on the connector 68 pins on the BNC-2120. I'm a little curious as to why we do not have one. Possible reasons off the top of my head which may explain why not:

    • cards PFI/description would be a mistake (for example, on a series of E/M/X ' CTR 0 SRC "PFI 8; on the 6010 is PFI 0.)

    • No digital lines (E/M/x series P0.0 P0.7 via are independent; on the P0.0 6010 P0.5 and P1.0 by P1.3 are shared with PFI lines)

    • Confusion about being able to connect to other devices that we sell with connector d - SUB 37 pin, but who do not use a compatible pinout (for example, the PCI-6239, PCI-6510 or the NI 9237). Here again, a PCI-6703 also uses a 68 connector pins, but has a completely incompatible pinout as well.

But it seems that those who would be pretty easy to deal with, because it is useful to be able to connect to the BNC-2010. Maybe it's an idea for the Exchange of ideas information Acquisition?

Anyway, if you want to have pushed BNC for everything on your Board of homebrew will need you:

    • 8 or 16 BNC connectors to HAVE, depending on whether you want single-ended or differential. For differential, the centres are GOT by AI 7 0, and transmissions are AI by AI 15 8. For asymmetric, the centres are HAVE 0 through 15 AI and transmissions should all connect to GND AI.

    • HAVE a sense (I think that you only need this if you use channels Nonreferenced Single - Ended (NRSE). See also: noise considerations for analog signals and field wiring.)

    • Two for AO (centers are AO 0 and 1 AO, outers times connect to AO GND).

    • Ten for PFI/digital lines. Outers will connect to GND D.

Up to a maximum of 29. You want maybe less, depending on your application.

  • The PCI-6010 of is compatible with Windows 7 (32 or 64)?

I'm hoping to get a quick response because I need right away by the operating system and I do not know if will work with Windows 7, and if so, what matter if it is a 32-bit version or 64-bit Windows?

    Thank you

    Tim

    Hi Tim,.

The unit will work with Windows 7.  If you take a look at the readme file for the current version of DAQmx (9.2.3), you can find the PCI-6010 in the list of devices fully supported.

There is also a much smaller list in the Readme of the devices which only is not supported under Windows Vista/7, as well as devices only support for 32-bit versions of these operating systems.  Fortunately, the PCI-6010 is not one of these devices.

In addition, I can confirm that I used the PCI-6010 with 32-bit versions and 64-bit Windows 7 (I have my test machine reimage quite frequently).

I have a PCI - 6010 DAQ and wants provided that report with SC models. Need to Inheritly using SC2345 module.

But how can I connect 6010 SC2345 carrier.

I'm afraid I wasn't able to find an adapter that goes from 37 pins 68 pins.  My recommendation would be that you get a new PCI (PCI-6221).

  • PCI-6010 chm help file

I downloaded and unzipped the file NI_6010_Help.chm of NEITHER. When I open the window of the good message says "Navigation to the webpage was canceled" and none of the left pane contents can be seen. An old FAQ display NOR claimed it was a questioning of Windows security, but the proposed solution (change a file attribute Properties) it did not my Win Vista system.

Unfortunately, one of the Windows security patches made opening .chms somewhat more difficult for users of Vista and XP.

I've attached a PDF of a newer version of the manual 6010 to this post. The 'preliminary' stamp is just an indicator that this manual indeed is not out yet.

  • Compatibility of Linux NOR PCI 7851R

    Hi y ' All!

I take into consideration this based FPGA Board to make digital acquisition/generation, plug it into a location PCIe to a PC running LabVIEW for Linux in a Red Hat environment.

The data sheet of the "NI R series Multifunction RIO", it's the series in which this Council falls, does not list Linux in the paragraph "needs and compatibility." only several Windows OS.

However, the description of the "NOR-RIO drier 14.0 for Linux" (which is the one used for this Board) mentions clearly PCI-7851R in the list of supported devices.

Find these two statements a bit confused, I ask you if this material is actually compatible Linux.

    See you soon!

Hi, as explained in RIO for Linux (http://www.ni.com/download/ni-rio-14.0/5027/en/) driver:

14.0 driver NOR-RIO for Linux provides Runtime support for devices OR RIO Scientific Linux 6.x, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x and 7.x and openSUSE 12.x and 13.1. Please see the file Readme for the full operating system supported.

This means that you can use the card PCI 7851R in a Linux OS computer is compatible such as Red Hat Enterprise.

  • images corrupted with NOR-PCIe-1429

We have a Basler A504k camera connected to a NI PCIe-1429 + 1430 framegrabber. The device used to work
regularly until that some time ago and has been tested as working on an another framegrabber locally
Representative office of camera. With our framegrabber, we're testing the connection in MAX, free acquisition mode.
Seconds after having started to enter, we often get corrupted images, like the one attached and in
all cases error timeout BFF60022 shortly after.
The defective behavior happens apparently regardless of the parameters of the AOI, duration of exposure, cadence.
We tried the camera combination + framegrabber on two different computers, running two different
versions of MAX (4.0 and 4.5), with exactly the same results. Joint are a regular image (obtained immediately after the beginning of the clip), damaged a (a few seconds later) and the error dialog box.
How can we solve the problem and understand if our framegrabber is to blame?

Updates, just to wind up this debate.

It turned out that food, which initially provided with the camera, but was actually a no name Chinese thingy, was most likely responsible for the malfunctions. The fact is that the camera works regularly in combination with the PCIe-1429 and long supported once connected to a Psalm stabilized decent during testing we found that the device itself accepts a wide range of input voltages (nominally 12V, worked perfectly between 8.8 and 13.2, very probably, it has an internal DC/DC), but that it went wrong with the original PS whenever the temperature came to exceed a threshold given. What unwanted noise PS used to provide in order to create such disorders, is not relevant at this stage.

I note, however, that tests supported the camera even with defective PS gave no problems when tested framegrabbes, the last of which was a Matrox Helios. Maybe it's an indication of the best tolerance to marginal quality card signals of NOR. Both an old PS has been used, the camera showed the problem report with * two * our PCIe-1429 and replacement of Eran, on two test computers.

In addition, a correction: our configuration used to designate a PCIe-1429 and an auxiliary IMAQ-1000, bound by a Ribbon of the RTSI. I the last PCI-1430 misnomed in my previous posts, which is not, and I was initially under the impression that it could be part of the problem.

  • 2 very simple questions about 6225 PCI card

    Hello world

I use for the first time a card PCI of 6225 (80 all entries). This card is linked to two junctions of SCB-68 block and my goal is to use it to acquire 40 Equations signals. Using the wizard DAQ, I came to these conclusions:

    1) the first 8 of my 40 Equations entries go out first to a block?

    (2) the block junction n ° 1 for each differential signal, I need to put a bias resistor 10 kohm between each AIGrnd and the V (-) signal. That's what I did with the other cards X 622. To do this with block n ° 2 too, I have that pin n ° 22, 9 and free to use all of my 32 43 signal. Is this correct?

I know that these are 2 very basic questions, but if someone could just answer for confirmation, it would be great.

    Thank you very much

    Kind regards

    User

    Hello

    (1) the 8 first entries go to the 1st exit of block as this pdf for Connector 0 shows.  For the last pin of the Connector 1 you will find the information in the screenshot below:

    (2) according to your source impedance, you must connect your source as described in figure 4-5:

Or 4 to 6 of the l M-series user manual(page 4-15 to 4-18, so with a coupled polarization resistance also between the positive terminal of the source and AI GND).

  • Linux drivers NOR PCI-7332

    Hello

I'm looking for options to interface with the NI PCI-7332 of g ++ LInux. I found links to the SystemSynergy drivers, but they do not seem to support Linux more.

Linux support exists? If there is no support for Linux, I can code Linux driver myself, if I get access to the documents of description of material (I'm familiar with operations of PCI bus driver Linux issues).

  • Question about "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller".

I just received notice of an optional update waiting for my laptop (HP), for "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller".  My main question - is it SAFE for me to let that settle?  (I have Windows 7, wired, no wireless and no other devices connected to my machine).  Of course, I just want that it is SAFE to install.

Yes, you must update the driver as it offers corrections. In case if something bad happens, you can restore the previous driver.

Kindly let me know if something like this happens that I hope stricto I will provide measures for the restoration.

  • Which DLL to use for the use of NOR-PCI-6703? (nicaiu.dll or nidaq32.dll)

Hello! I'm programming ATEasy (from Geotest Inc.). I have to incorporate a Council OR-PCI-6703 and I need the driver for it. I do not know what .dll file to use: nicaiu.dll or nidaq32.dll. What is the difference between these 2 files? What is the best for me to use? Please help me!

It depends on if you use the traditional DAQ driver or the driver DAQmx. If you use the DAQmx driver you want to use the nicaiu.dll. This link will explain the necessary information to be able to use for your application.
