• Bing search engine question

  Why a small gray flashing box in my search engine bing on the left inside the bar where you type? The month began last may, 2012. My computer is updated by microsoft. I think it has something to do with it, but am a little embarrassed by this little gray box considering that it was never there before. Have updated my daughters computer and it has the little gray box in its search engine as well. Even do not know where to do this post I see files, folders and search selected but updates Microsoft think this has something to do with the updates anyway.

  In summary, it seems that the Firefox team is not intend to bring back the ability to return to the old bar search, which was possible (but in a very biased way) in older versions of 42. For now, you can either:

  • Download module additional classic restaurateur theme to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/?src=ss and then select the old search option
  • Go back to Firefox 42 and set the browser.search.showOneOffButtons property in Subject: config. However, with older versions poses a risk to the security that you won't have bug fixes provided with version 43

  Hi, I think you're talking to the menu bar. If so, right click on the bar of tabs (but not on a tab) and graduation/check bar menu.

  Other buttons can be found in the 3 menu bar > customize, drag a toolbar to the location of your choice, > exit customize to save.

  I work for a school district that uses web filtering out both in network. We were running through a situation where our students are able to move from Google to Yahoo search engines to see inappropriate material. We have worked with our provider of web filtering outside to prevent that from happening, but so far no resolution of the problem. As I'm about to about 600 computers images for fall next, staff, admins, and especially Parents (I'm sure) would be as is not the case.

  My question is this. Is it possible to change search preferences in the application Firefox so that all students can use to search is Google? I can do the application itself, or is this another case where the settings are all stored in the profile users?

  Disable all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:
