Quicken 2009 crashes on startup after the latest security updates

After you have installed the latest security updates (I think it was 10/01/2010) and tried running Quicken 2009, the program does not start.  It hangs at the boot image.  I tried to restart and reinstall the program (with available updates), but it still has not solved the problem.

Any help is appreciated!

  • Why attached used pps files opened after the latest Automatic update of the ie8?

    Attn: Microsoft Brainiacs; IT IS VERY ANNOYING!
    attached pps files won't open if clicked in outlook express/ie8 after automatic update more recent.
    When I try to open files pps attached, this is what I get.
    a box with a red x will appear and this is the message;
    "this file has no program associated with it for performing this action.
    Create an association in the FOLDER OPTIONS Control Panel."

    Before the automatic update, this function worked fine.
    Also, the association for pps files is still there in the Folder Options Control Panel.
    and more if I save the pps file attached somewhere / anywhere and then click on it, it opens fine.
    .. This failure to launch opening pps files attached, that happened after the latest Automatic update,
    .. just one more why people hate automatic updates or updates of any kind.
    like the previous functions of work suddenly and inexplicapbly no longer work after the update took place!
    So what's the cure for this annoying problem?

  • The taskbar icons disappeared after the Vista security updates

    After that the last security update to my program of Vista, volume, network and power icons have disappeared from my notification bar area tasks and the taskbar and start menu properties box won't allow me to them click on 'always show '.  How can I fix it?

    Hello

    You can see the Microsoft article and run the fixit tool available and check.

    If the fixit tool does not solve the problem, I suggest that you try the manual steps and check.

    System icons do not appear in the notification area in Windows Vista or Windows 7, you must restart the computer

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Glitch iMac at startup after the attempt to update

    I can't access the startup or logon after I tried an update. It crashed and now Flash on and off load screen. This is an imac 2011. Is it possible, he did his time?

    Probably not, however when major updates are made, it focuses on systems that use a HD. If you already have a HD summary the added stress can put it on the edge.

    Until you do, test. Reset the PRAM and see if that helps. Use iMac SMC and PRAM reset for instructions.

    If this does not work, then try to reboot in recovery (command-R) score and see if it works.

  • DNS stopped working after the latest Vista updates

    Yesterday my Vista Home Premium has been updated by Microsoft through the automatic update process. After the update and reboot network stopped working. I was able to trace this DNS no longer works. I was unable to solve the problem until I supported updates, after which the system returns to normal operation.

    Now, of course, updates want to be reinstalled, but I don't want the network to fail again. Any ideas?

    Change how to get updates:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial140.html

    Understand the Extras in Windows Vista and Windows Update info is at the link above.

    Right click on those you don't need > UAC prompt > it hide.

    Never install party hardware driver updates 3rd through Windows updates.

    Go to the manufacturer's website, instead.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Vista will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.
    Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.
    This particular screen means that your Mac could not find a valid system folder from upward. I recommend that you try reinstalling OS X using OS X Recovery. Please follow the steps below.
    To boot from OS X Recovery, hold down the command (⌘) r immediately after start-up or that you restart your Mac. Release when you see the Apple logo. If you can not boot from OS X Recovery, now try the Command + Option + R key at the start of the OS X Internet Recovery*.
    OK, here's the deal up to people last night using the Internet explorer 8 when you visit a Web site, I maintain when he is able to listen to audio very well via the built-in flash player I have on the view. Anyone who has downloaded the latest updates of 4 security which just launched yesterday are not able to listen to the audio stream at all. I tested on a machine that I had not yet updated when installing updates and of course the drive does not work. I have uninstall updates and things work very well. Tell everyone to uninstall updates or switch to Firefox it will be a fix for this particular problem. I already had more than 300 people to send me an email with the same question today.
    Try using the method below.
    If this does not work, please contact Adobe about their product, like Flash made by them:
    Flash:
    http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/141/tn_14157.html
    Uninstall Flash by using the uninstall program Flash Adobe link above.
    Flash is sometimes corrupted.
    Reinstall Flash, after 1st unchecking / uncheck the toolbar Google download option there.
  • Error: (Operation Ilegal on object wrapped native prototype) after the new security update
    I have Firefox installed on a HP Presario Quad 64, 22 running the Version to the Windows 7 home page. Firefox has been running and update what I got the last (20130618035212) update published on June 3, 2013, and it installed today. After the installation of the error: illegal operation on the object wrapped in native Prototype) appears several times during the opening and one or two times on each operation, I do it, on any page thereafter. I don't know what the reason for this error, or that the update can be interacting with. I noticed that there seems to be no way to selectively remove a security update of in Firefox it's automatic, I can remove it from windows Add/Remove to see if it is the cause rather than remove the Firefox it's self and re-install. I did have a problem with Firefox for a long time now that I have become much too relaxed in my security, I must admit it took me by surprise. Any help or information would be fantastic.
    Sincerely
    Rick M.
    Hello
    Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.
    (If you use it, switch to the default theme).
    • You can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.
    Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "
    If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .
    To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.
    When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.
    Thank you.
