  • Problem of Ram 8 GB / 1333 Mhz with HP Probook 4420 s Core i3

Recently, I bought a new module of memory 8 GB Transcend and installed in my laptop HP Probook 4420 s Core i3. The operating system does not start then. Tried to reinstall the operating system, but the installer crashes. Whenever I try to run a memory test, a few glimmers of strange color on my monitor test and memory freezes.

I if the memory was faulty, and tried to install on an ACER Core 2 Duo laptop and it worked very well, ran different memory test and it passed.

One last thing, when I install memory with my old 2 gb 1066 mhz ram, the system accepts it and the operating system starts. But when memory consumption exceeds 2 GB, the system hangs.

Simply, the memory is not usable in my system. What's wrong!!

I use Ubuntu 13.04. Tried with Microsoft Wiindows 8 and Windows 7, and the results are the same.

  • Administrator Bios password does not work on HP 4420 s XT940UT #ABA Windows 7 64-bit

Someone please help me with this!

I bought this laptop from a friend (have receipt) who sell it to me because the screen was cracked and spidered all out when you the activated. And everywhere he went to ask to get the screen fixed it is very expensive ($250 - $350) and he said that it would be just a newer laptop. So he sold me this which is a model Probook of HP4420s XT940UT #ABA. About a week after I bought this Probook friend who sold it to died me suddenly. It was sudden and terrible. Some time later, I had the time of the purchase of the LCD for this model, replace it myself (was very easy actually) and booted up the laptop with a new installation of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Edition. After installing all my software and using the laptop for a while now, I wanted to get into the Bios that I've never done. So when I started the laptop, click ESC, then F10 to enter the BIOS, there were two places to enter a password is different then all Dell I've ever owned. One was mine I guees I put in place using HP protect tools and the other says BIOS/administrator. Well I can do most of the changes with the one I put in place with my password but my password does not work, nor can I get in some very significant changes that I wanted to do using Bios/administrator, as kindling the LoJack, namely the blocking of the hard drive etc. , turning on turbo boost, fan, etc. Well, since the person I bought is no longer with us, there is no one to turn to the answer to this question of administrator/BIOS password / problem.  I tried to take battery Rtype and restore that way, didn't work. Several times, I called HP and they sent me to a BIOS page to download the same BIOS, I have already, would not let me install it. When I bring up the command prompt and do not put anything in BiosConfigureUtility.exe happens, said just a wrong command. When I try to enter the BIOS through the C: file in the files of the SSM, I reach the BiosConfigUtility.exe file, click on it to open it and it just flashes a way small order page to fast to read what it says. I would like to have complete control over my laptop thinking I have a lot of time and money invested in it now. The problem would have something to do with installing the 64 bit version of Windows 7 instead of the 32 bits I suppose initially that he came with? I have all the manuals and they say that this laptop is compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit Pro is what I installed. I'm mixed responses from many different people on this and would like an answer from HP someone who has experience in dealing with the BIOS in the Probooks business models if possible please. I really like this Probook and have since become big fan of most HP, Dell and Lenovo.  I intend to buy two probooks, one for my wife and one for my daughter because this one is like a MacBook, but better.  Thank you for reading this and I hope someone can help.

Once you open a session with the service the customer of HP one case of pension, they will provide once the utility you and steps to execute it. who can capture the UUID. BTW - UUID is a unique ID for each machine (16 digits or more) stored in the BIOS itself.

Once the results of the utility (UUID and other info) in the log file, shared with HP, they can generate a key file (SMC) to reset.

Well, depertment of technical support can help you in it, no need to ask for anyone in particular or the Department.

    It will be useful.

That's why I want to know is - this safe for the SSD or not?

    Hello

There is no need in fact HP 3D DriveGuard for one SSD as there are no moving parts - this application is not relevant to a mechanical hard drive, where sudden movements, detected by the accelerometer cause the drive heads be "stored" in damage to storage media.

However, as your machine has an "accelerometer" leaving this driver installed will not affect the function of your SSD and prevents the Device Manager appears an 'unknown device '.

reset the boot priority, set option HD as 1st boot priority. If you are attempting to clone C: another HD, then in

From here on, I'm went to models of administration-> components-> BitLocker Drive Encryption-> operating system Windows readers-> require additional authentication at startup, which enabled and allow it BitLocker without a compatible TPM was already checked. Press OK and you leave.

I used the windows Explorer, click with the right button on the system drive and chose to shoot to "Turn on BitLocker" and I get an error that says "a compatible trusted Platform Module (TPM) security device must be present on this computer, but a TPM module was not found."

I've already prepared some suggestions for a very old post back in and by checking disable them on the template rebooted and then reactivated it but I still get the same error.

I use Windows 7 64-bit volume license business on a domain.

I used BitLocker successfully on many laptops so far, but no case of this model.

    Hello!

After changing the setting, you applied the GPO with gpupdate/force, and then disconnect & connect again?

You can check the status of this setting with the set of resulting policies snap-in of MMC or see the group applied with gpresult/h report.html GPOs

  • The upgrade of the wireless in my 4320 s card

I live in England and have a probook 4320 portable s, product code XX826EA #ABU with a wireless card not compatible with my new network running Wireless N to 5 GHz.

my network card is Ralink RT3090 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter.

Is it possible to replace my current card with one that would allow me to connect to my network at full speed instead of 54mbs and if so where specifically do I need?

    Hi, Kenny:

Upgrade of a card in a HP laptop wireless, it's nothing less than a nightmare. It's a little easier on the business models, then you have chance but not completely safe...

Here is the link to the service manual. I couldn't do that to download support and driver page.

    http://www.manualowl.com/m/Hewlett-Packard/ProBook-4420s/manual/105970

Wireless cards supported with HP part numbers are in Chapter 3 begins on page 3-26 of the manual.

    Cards dual band...

    Intel Centrino Advanced N 6200, HP part # 572510-001. (40,66 GBP)

Intel WiFi LInk 6200, HP part # 572509-001. (43,52 GBP)

You can purchase a card online from HP on the link below:

    http://h20141.www2.HP.com/hpparts/default.aspx?mscssid=EBF60ADD3B4D4DF2B5DF89B85B9D824A

You can buy only one card in the maintenance manual and it MUST have the HP part # on it, or it won't work.

So, if you decide to go around, check to the map you get is made specifically for HP with this number of the piece on the subject, or your laptop will not RELEASE yet.

You said that you have installed Windows 7 in the C: partition

Was that a factory image install via the Recovery Manager, or was it a facility own fom a Microsoft dvd installation?

The error you are getting means that the UEFI system partition problems. Can still call you the Diagnostic tools to the power upward with the F2 key? If this isn't the case, you must reinstall UEFI. Follow the installation instructions.

The error you mentioned does not match the description of the usual Windows blue screen errors. When I put this error for a web-search, it has proved to be a common problem with some HP computers. I was able to get my hands on the following link for a thread in HP communities that contains information about this error. Have a read of the content in this link and see if this applies to your situation:
