  I had the same problem in windows right click on Skype icon at the bottom right of the taskbar then click on exit. I hope this helps.

  I just installed Skype on my new computer, and every time I turn on my computer, Skype on startup. I don't want to start up unless I use it.   I'm running Debian unstable, and I've recently updated my system after several months of not doing (the last time was before the latest version of Debian). Once the upgrade is finished, I noticed that Skype (I have 4.2) had ceased to work properly with the following symptoms:

  • If I make a call immediately after the start of Skype, I get no sound. I can see in the controls of PulseAudio that Skype has opened an output stream, and yet nothing comes out the speakers. The microphone, on the other hand, works fine (the other part of the call confirmed that they could hear me).
  • If I can put an end to this call and try to start another one, without leaving Skype first, a buzzing begins at the time the call is trying to produce a sound. The buzz persists even after that I ended the call and indeed persists until I have quit Skype.

  Since I've updated many packages at once, it is virtually impossible to tell what package updates may have caused this. In addition, the problem is specific to Skype; all other sound generating programs work very well. In any case, I would be happy to provide you with additional information that might help.

  I actually "solved" this by running Skype from the command-line in the following way:

  PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC = 30 Skype

  It is still is not ideal because it does not work out of the box, but it does the trick. However, in the meantime, it stopped recognizing my webcam, so things aren't great yet. :-(

  Hey I seem to have a problem for months, I don't know if it of a known issue or not, but some friends have that mine have told me that I'm still registered on Skype, even though I have disconnect manually. Sometimes I'm quite 'Skype' and the program quits or I will 'disconnect' and then 'leave Skype"if Skype isn't running. Skype never also told me who signed, I also noticed that some of my contacts are signed and I'll call or their cat... or text them asking if their signed on which we will say no.

  I'm updated to Skype 6.21.0.104 (it would be annoying to go 'invisible' every time using Skype and useless)

• Skype on iphone does not connect to wifi

  For the past few weeks, I noticed a strage problem. 6 Skype iphone app connects not when the phone is connected to the wireless network. As soon as I disable the wi - fi and move to 3G (or 4G) the application connects.

  It's really strange. I tried at various locations of a WiFi connection (thinking that it must be something to do with my home wi - fi router).

  There is no problem on Mac or PC connection. Not even on a samsung (android) phone. It's just iphone 6 that creates it.

  Finally a Solution (after discussing with a helpful and patient person on Skype Chat support)

  1. First disconnect all devices connected (physically if possible)
  2. Connection of your iPhone on the network 3G / 4G (the one that connects)
  3. Select any contact and type /showplaces - this will show you all the places that you are connected
  4. type /remotelogout if you see more than one end point (one of the endpoint will be your iphone or phone)
  5. (Continue to do 3) and 4) until you see a single point endpoint
  6. Now, quit Skype on your phone and uninstall the application
  7. Hard Reboot the phone (power + "home" button)
  8. Re-install Skype on app store
  9. Now it should work on wi - fi as well - it worked for me and still works.
  10. Eventually reconnect to other devices if you have to.

  I was able t open Skype. I got a code to fix this. When I quit Skype and trying to reopen, I received the same error message again.

  I remove Skype several times and it recharged without result. I have no problem with Skype on my other computer.

• Bug? Skype puts my volume quite rudely

  OK, this is the case:

  6. so what? -Once with success, I downloaded, installed and updated to OS X El Capitan 10.11.6, I chose immediately updated the Skype by "install on Quit. And YES! It worked! I use the LATEST version of Skype now on Mac, and you know what, all previous issues resolved Skype and the "Update of Skype on Quit" message no longer appears.

  Anyone who uses Skype for business with Office 365 account of your company on Fedora, or any other version of Linux?

  I work in an environment Windows as a Sys Admin, but there are a few Red Hat servers I administer also. I'm starting to find it has more of a need for me to work in Fedora Red Hat Administration (using Fedora 22 in a virtual machine). If it was my preference, I remove completely 8.1 Windows on my laptop and just use Fedora 22 all the time but my company uses Skype for business quite frequently for instant messagaing web conferencing, screen sharing and it's what keeps me back to install Fedora 22 because I have yet to find the Skype for Linux Business Customer.

  Does not quite work this. Setup, I need is for someone to the United Kingdom to be able to call my Skype UK number and one to be automatically transmitted / redirect to my international mobile number.

  The reason is that if I don't reply on my number Skype the quality is too poor (via VOIP) and I don't want to call my international number directly (because of cost)

  So my question is, if I send my number to my international mobile Skype then is the call (between the callers mobile UK and my international mobile) now on mobile networks instead of the data.

  So I have reason to assume that the appellant would be charged the normal rate to the United Kingdom and I would be charged the rate of Skype calls?
