R100 Standby / reduction Hiberate

Hello, hope someone can help.

I lost the ability to place my R100 in hibernation mode or standby, using the keys of function F3 / F4.
It worked.

No surprise, I suppose, left the standby button is dimmed in the window "Stop the computer" then stop down via the Start button.

Details:
BIOS version 1.50 25/11/2004
Windows XP Pro SP2 ver2002
No external hardware not connected.

Unfortunately I don't remember when this "anomaly" appeared or after what load/Update software.

I deleted the McAfee Antivirus software just in case, but no change.

The clues or pointers would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Mike

HI Mike,.

Can you confirm that you did not start in safe mode? Generally, the 'stand-by' option is disabled in safe mode.

  • Problem of Eve Portege R100

    Dear friends,
I have a problem with my newly purchased Portege R100. When I try to switch (or in hibernation mode, in fact), it starts the process and then stops and displays an error message saying that it is in conflict with the keyboard player and I might need to update this.
Of course when I try to update, it shows not any update for the keyboard drivers.
I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same problem and how you solved it.

    Thank you
    Riccardo

    Hi Riccardo

As far as I know, this problem may occur if you use the external keyboard because for now what laptop enters standby or hibernation to stop all active processes. Now there may be some conflicts because many programs or processes can make the problems by putting off circuit.

    The external keyboard?

  • A node not tranport archivelog on standby

We have 3 node RAC of Oracle 11.2.0.1 on Redhat 5.2. The eve of physics is a single instance 11.2.0.1 on redhat 5.2 too.

After I duplicate primary to the physics of the day before, I saw half dozen archivelog carried forward and applied. After that, the primary node 1 (1-wire) stopped transport redo, while that thread 2 and 3 continue Reduction again. But no recovery applied afterword.

Check the password files and to find this password file for node one differs from the other two nodes. Fact file password of node 1, a copy of node 2. But still not see node 1 again after "ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG CURRENT;"

I have to restart the primary? or I have to redo the double?

    Dear user13148231,

No, you don't have to go back on the whole duplication process. Change the user SYS and set identical passwords between them and recreating the password files. Copy the archivelogs anywhere on the sites concerned and save them in the database backup. MRP will apply to those recorded later.

    Kind regards.

  • When I close the lid on my MBP, it goes to "Standby" to "Hibernate" why?

My MacBook Pro for six years had been working perfectly until about a month earlier, when he stopped to stay in Mode standby when I closed the lid.

With the lid closed, initially, he goes to sleep, but after about 30 seconds, it goes into hibernation mode and to turn on again, I have to press the power button. I then get a grey screen and no use of the trackpad. Shortly after, the gray screen disappears and the machine works perfectly.

The battery life is very good (68%), I have reset the SMC and I have not loaded the new software. The only thing I can think is that this started to occur at the time of the last update of Safari.

Does anyone else have this problem?  Comments or suggestions are appreciated.  Thank you.

    Hello, Spring Lake Bob!

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. After reviewing your post, I understand that your MacBook Pro sleeps as expected when you close the lid. Instead, it goes into a hibernation mode that requires you to press the power button to interact with him again. I certainly understand wanting to make sure that the computer sleeps when it should wake up how it should. I'd be happy to help you!

Get help with your situation, I would say using the article below the link to help isolate and solve the problem of sleep.

  • A problem of user login, in the Standby Mode

I'm the only user on my Mac. When I go to Preferences system, users and groups, my name is listed and guest said off. My question is when I turn on the computer, I automatically connect. But, when I put the computer in mode 'sleep', get out of standby the computer asks for my password. How can I disable this password option as it should automatically log on.

The software on my mac is the Version OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 (15F34)

    Hello rskern!

I certainly understand wanting to save time logging in to your MacBook Pro.  We can certainly check a few preferences to see if we can get it put in place how you would like.

To begin with, what you currently see is actually quite expected.  When log you in and then the screen locks automatically (go to sleep), it may require your password as if you were switching user accounts.

You can always be asked to manually connect after a disconnection, switching back to another user accountor your lock screen.

Is this article: set your Mac to connect automatically on startup - Apple Support

But we can change the time it needs of your password after going to sleep in the Security & Privacy System Preferences.  Open system preferences > Security & privacy > general.  Once you're there, you can adjust how long until it takes the password after she goes to sleep or the screen saver starts again. The basics of the Mac: display a screen saver when you are not using your Mac - Apple Support

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support and have a good!

  • my iphone won't go into standby mode

I recently bought an iphone SE.  Recently, I noticed that my phone will not mode when connected to usb or power standby. The screen just goes dimmed, but does not go to sleep mode

    Is this normal?

    THX

"Sleep" mode should make the display turns off. Is - this just dim halfway? If so, it is not normal.

  • Auto standby and sleep

My system wakes up hours even after being put on standby, and then back to mode 'sleep' in itself.

This happens when I wake up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. When I get to a certain place in the hallway, I hear the 'click' in my computer room that occurs subsequently to the top. Then I change course to control the computer and I find it wakes up. He will then go back to sleep in a few minutes. Either it's haunted to wake up when I do (it seems to wake up when I get to a specific place in the hallway (*?), or he wakes up frequently while I'm asleep.)

Any way to prevent it to wake up or get a log of his self-directed behavior?

Try disabling "Wake for network access" and "Enable Power Nap" in system preferences > energy saver.

  • Portege R100 - defective headphone jack

Headphone 3.5 mm on my R100 hole seems to be defective (I tried it with another helmet and with them the sound is distorted unless I managed to get the plug in the right position).

I will provide Toshiba on this subject shortly, but I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if this component replacement is a simple procedure?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Dan,.

The headphone jack is a pretty basic device that can usually be bought quite cheaply from most electrical spare outlets. The real problem is to find a repairman that will repair to the component level. Nowadays, the trend is to replace a whole PCB rather than simply weld on a new component.

According your description of the problem as it sounds as if we spring metal tags is either loose or bent and therefore does not sufficiently wityh contact the helmet when it is inserted.

If your laptop is still under warranty, then it should be replaced at no charge.

If your warranty has expired, it may be useful to check for repairers of local PC that quote ' component-level) repair services.

Try to remove the USB entries in Device Manager, and then restart the device. The ports should be recognized and installed correctly. In my view, it cannot happen without any reason. It will be interesting to know since when this problem started.

  • PORTEGE R100 CD-ROM recovery problem

Hi, I had a few problems of recovery PORTEGE R100. My problem is that when I try to reinstall the system with the recovery of the boot disk CD, it does not recognize the CD. The CD-ROM is not a TOSHIBA product. Is there any solution for this?

    Hello

It will be interesting to know if your external CD is a USB or PCMCIA device.

You must make a Windows startup disk and add drivers for your CD-ROM BACK drive and then you should be able to recover the machine with this CD.
