R8000 Open VPN drops Internet connection

I have a router R8000 and sometimes when I go to connect by using the open VPN connection that it will show as connected but I don't have any internet access more. My connection log is below. The XXX is corresponding to my external IP address of the router.

I have the service defined on the port UDP 12970 type. Firmware version: V1.0.3.4_1.1.2

Journal will be in the next post, because there is a limit of 20,000 characters.

In fact, I found a way around the problem. If you change the Protocol to TCP UDP everything works fine. Don't know what the problem is with UDP though.

I have a 5510 ASA with a second internet connection on his way.  I would like to have an internet connection dedicated to my VPN Site to Site traffic and the other left to manage the public internet traffic.   I know that I can do this with a static route, but today, I noticed the "tunnel" option  How exactly does the tunnel option work mode and it works better for my situation?

    Rob,

(Simplification) "Tunnel" option tells what to do with traffic, once it has been for example inbound VPN decapsulted.

In your case, static routes for remote tunnel endpoint + RRI points will do.

Edit: I would advise yo forget about the end of the dynamics of peers (dynamic IP L2L or ezvpn) solutions on any interface that does not have a default route on this subject.

  • EX7300 drops internet connectivity

    Hello

so I bought myself an EX7300. Manual configuration went all well.

My problem is, that, although Windows indicates that it has access to the internet and the wireless signal is at the highest level, my internet connection is lost every few minutes. I have to toggle the WIFI connection to regain access to the internet, but once again, it's just for a short period.

When you perform a repair of Windows, the message is: Windows cannot communicate with the device or resource (primary DNS server) [main DNS server is 192.168.0.1]

The Extender has a static IP address which is 192.168.0.50, but gives the router a DHCP IP which is 192.168.0.106.

    Firmware is the newest: 1.0.0.44

It's really annoying and restores the Extender completely useless.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

I think I solved the problem by giving the router a channel fixed wLAN (48) and the Repeater another (40). Have not had this problem since.

  • D7000 continually drops Internet connection

My new D7000 abandons the Internet connection up to 15 times a day... Sometimes it will run for hours without problem and other times, falling from every 10-15 minutes

He is recovering normally, but he sometimes needs to be restarted manually. As far as I can see, the WAN/Internet is configured correctly for my ISP (BT) because it works perfectly fine, until he falls
(I'm not network guru, but know quite well what I do!)

I have tried eaves values MTU of switching given that others had found that fixed things for them and just changed PPPoA to PPPoE encapsulation without success.

I do not use the latest firmware (given that the update of my old router Netgera bricks it!), but downloaded it read to install manually the next step.

    any help please?

    V1.0.0.18_1.0.1 firmware version
    ISP: BT

Basically, I discovered the following of my ISP:
The initial problem was the result of a failure of the infrastructure - they replaced a wiring for my property
The subsequent recurrence of symptoms has coincided with the upgrade of their Exchange works - they do not alert me of the upgrade until it was completed.

Since then, the connection remained constant and reliable while being 4 times faster than originally.

So, I think that the question is entirely the fault of my ISP.

  • VPN and Internet connection

When I connect to the VPN on my laptop from home (using a wireless connection), I can't access the Internet.

    Any help?

    Hello

Depending on the system and its configuration, it is not always possible to solve this problem.

    However, try this.

Make sure that the default route has NOT changed to the VPN server.

Open the properties of your VPN connection.
Go to 'network '. Double click on TCP/IP protocol. Use the button "Advanced".

Disable the feature from default gateway.

For the best solution if you are using a cable/DSL router which is also home VPN endpoint you can take the 'Off' the computer VPN.

  • Internet connection takes long to launch the Satellite L40 - 12K

    Hello

Can someone tell me if I can speed up the opening of the internet connection on my laptop.

I have a Satellite L40 - 12K, with 2 GB of memory, operating system vista Home premium.
When you enter my user space after 30 seconds the system tray has not all symbols yet, but the drive slows down. At this point, I have the 2-screen symbol with a red cross. Then after 50 seconds, the hard drive shows some activity and then more certain symbols are placed in the system tray.
Then after about 80 s finally Red Cross disappears.
I don't know if this is a common problem with vista, or is there something I can do to speed this time.

    pls help me

    Hello

the problem with Vista is that many things are 'wobbly' which causes the system to do things slower then you're accustomed to XP or other systems.
The best would be to update ALL your drivers and install each update of Windows available. You can also speed up until your departure by removing unnecessary Autostart entries.
I recommend reading this extremetech article that describes how to speed up Vista system startup:

    Hello

    1. who is the operating system installed on your computer?

    2. are you using a cable or a wireless Internet connection?

    3. were there any changes or updates made on the computer?

    4. what store did you try?

  • Problem with my internet connection drop.

I keep losing internet connection on my laptop Toshiba, he usually drops about 14:00 every day and I reconnect and on 5 minutes later, I lose again, I have two other laptops that do not have this, it's only this one and this one is new, I throw the bad shoots and he tells me that the default gateway is not available fixed. But then 5 minutes later it happens again. Can someone help me? I had this problem for months, I could use the help. Thank you.

    Hi Mike,.
    Thanks for the reply.

Sorry I know this previous method suggested did not help.
I suggest you to reset TCP/IP and check.

Manually assign the IP address and the default gateway and check if it works very well. Before assigning the IP address and the default gateway manually, make a note of the IP address on the computer. To do this open command prompt, type ipconfig and press to enter. This displays the IP address, make a note of it.

To manually assign the IP address and default gateway, follow these steps:

    a. in the system, right click on network icon tray. Choose the open network and sharing.
    b. right-click on the connection to the Local network and click Properties.
    c. double-click Protocol Internet Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and assign the IP address manually.
Example: Old Ip address is 192.168.0.1
    Replace the IP 192.168.0.50
    d. let the subnet mask and default gateway are the same.
    Subnet mask = 255.255.255.0
Gateway by default, would usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
    e. click apply then click Ok and restart the computer and check if it helps to solve the problem.

    I hope this helps.
  • Sharing internet connection with VPN in Windows 8

Previously with Windows 7, I put my VPN to share its connection to the Ethernet port on my laptop. So whenever it connects to the internet, my Xbox would take the connection too via Ethernet connected by VPN. But now after the upgrade to Windows 8 Pro, I did the same thing, but the Xbox, or any other device that connects to my Ethernet port does not receive any internet connection, even if they do not recognize that they are connected to a network, but not to the internet. I also noticed that I can not customize the settings of network similar to that of Windows 7 where you can choose between home and professional Public and also to manage network access points where you can merge or delete network locations.

    @BedheadHusky

OOOha, the process too big, I struggled very and solve the problem with the following solution:
Just open space and restart services 'Internet connection sharing (ICS)"AFTER establishing VPN connection
or run the commands as administrator after HAVING establish VPN connection
    stop SC SharedAccess
    SC start SharedAccess
    It works for me.
    I don't understand what's wrong on Microsoft!

  • L755 satellite internet connection drops but stilll connected to the network

    Hello

I hope one of you can help me. I have a laptop 13 q Satellite L755 nice for a year and a half.

My problem is that I surf the net and suddenly my internet connection drops down. On Firefox or IE, I have a message with a triangular signal yellow saying: "your connection has be revived."
I'm still waiting on my network but I can't access the internet.

The strangness, is that my family other PC or laptop have no problem on the connection.
This happens on the wifi and cable. At home or other places of connection.
In France and the United States. So my conclusion is that there is a problem with my laptop.

I looked around some forums. It seems that some have a problem with IPv6.
I have disabled the option to use IPv6 on my laptop, but I still have the problem.

Another comment: I play the Kingdom of the fortress online.
Sometimes I disconnect from this game but I can still surf the internet for a few minutes before undergoing a total disconnection.

    Looking forward for your help.

As this happens using WLan and LAN its really hard to say why your connection is interrupted.
Have you tested the internet connection with fresh preinstalled system?
I mean it is possible that some software / updates received or installed in the past it would affect.
