RAM HP pavilion g6 2005tx

My laptop is g6 2005tx pavilion. The laptop does not start, I visited the store of the local computer and the person says I have to buy new ram.
I want to buy 8 GB of ram but can not find the ram specifications compatible with my laptop.
I also need help to buy it as a brand, speed, form factor, mhz, etc.
Please help me.
Thanking you

You are way overthinking it. Read my messages. The manual here:

Customer-accessible/upgradable SODIMM slots for memory 2: ● DDR3-1333 MHz Dual Channel Support (downgrade from DDR3 - 1600 MHz DDR3 - 1333 MHz)

CL9 latency and is 204-pin SO-DIMM non ECC what can I tell you?

can I switch from ram to my labtop hp pavilion dv6-6199ee from 8g to 16g?

    Hello

The following link shows its specifications:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-DV6-entertainment-notebook-PC-series/5082212/model/5116524/document/c02866517/

It says clearly: expandable up to 8 GB of DDR3 memory (means 8GB max).

But the maintenance and Service Guide says, it uses Intel processor (CPU) for this purpose, you can upgrade to 16 GB (page 5):

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-DV6-entertainment-notebook-PC-series/5082212/model/5116524/manuals

Please use the right part on page 66 of the manuals or at least same specs above.

    Kind regards.

  • Pavilion dv7-6b76eo: upgrade of RAM HP Pavilion dv7-6b76eo

I created a thread really well here and received great help from @Paul_Tikkanen so if he or someone else could help me, that would be great. Don't know why I can't post a reply in this thread again. They either closed the thread or I'm blind. In any case, I have the HP Pavilion dv7-6b76eo and plan an upgrade of RAM. Currently I have samsung 2 x 4 Go PC3-10600 / DDR3-1333.

    1. I think go to ddr4, but what keeps me is some threads I have read saying ddr4 won't even in good physical shape in a ddr3 slot (which is my current) as well as this piece of info from Wikipedia:

DDR4 SO-DIMM have 260 pines (instead of 204 pin DDR3), which are evenly spaced more close (0.5, rather than 0.6 mm) and are 2.0 mm wider (69.6 against 67.6 mm), but still the same 30 mm in height.

    Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR4_SDRAM

    • 204-pin SO-DIMM (DDR3) have a single notch closest in the center than at 200-pin SO-DIMM.
    • 260-pin SO-DIMM (DDR4), 69.6 mm (2,74 in.) wide and 30 mm (1.2 inches) in height, making it wider than the DDR3 SO-DIMM, with one notch after pin 2 mm 144 (0,079 in.).

    Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SO-DIMM

This means that a chip of RAM SODIMM ddr4 wouldn't even in good physical shape in the slot of my laptop?

    2. well, okay... If I have to make my peace with her and stay with DDR3 can I at LEAST faster DDR3 install i.e. PC3-17000 / DDR3-2133 because my current a PC3-10600 / DDR3-1333 is sorta slow sometimes?

Thanks in advance and would really appreciate an answer to the question 1 and 2 above!

    @nematsvehclav

    I couldn't say with certainty.

But I have yet to see a 16 GB memory for a laptop card. "Yet."

    1. I want to upgrade my RAM. Which can be maximum RAM this laptop can work with?
    2. What are the reference number of this RAM?
    3. In which case reference numbers are not available on the local market, are there alternatives available?

    TIA

    The manual says:

Supports up to 8 GB of memory system

    Memory modules (DDR3 1066 MHz) ● 4 GB PC3 10600 1333 MHz shared 621569-001

You would be able to use any DDR3-1333 SO-DIMM (i.e. portable computer memory). It must be low density and which means 8 black blocks on the side of the chip as a module in the image.

See s. 51 of the manual here for 'how-to ':

    Manual

It's a older laptop maybe 4-5 years ago, you know? Also if you really 32-bit Windows 7 above you will not be able to add effective memory. It takes the 64-bit version to run 4 or more gigabytes of RAM. Care say that this model comes with 3 GB of RAM and 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium so do not know what you have now.

  • Pavilion 15 t-bc000: upgrade of RAM HP Pavilion 15 t-bc000

I just got my HP Pavilion 15 t-bc000 in the mail today. I have an old DV6 who died and there extra RAM I put in what I want to put in my new Pavilion. However, I do not know how to do it. My old DV6 has a panel on the bottom that you can unscrew for easy access to the RAM, wireless card and the hard drive. My new 15 t-bc000 does not seem to have such coverage on the bottom. In fact, is not all the coverage on the bottom at all. It seems I have renovated the entire background bordered somehow just to get to the RAM or to remove the battery, if I ever had to do, but I don't know if it's even possible. Can I not put in more RAM on my new computer?

Ah, I see. I looked on the order and found that it uses DDR4 instead of DDR3. I'll call HP technical support and see if it is possible to update the RAM themselves. Thank you!

I would like to upgrade memory of ram on my laptop, so I would like to know what type of memory ram motherboard supports.

Your dv6607nr system came with preinstalled memory of 1 GB (2 x 512 MB)
    Memory type: DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 (non - ECC)
    Maximum memory supported: 4GB
    Slots: 2
Memory each slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 2 GB per slot.

I saw that most of the customers were successful in upgrading the RAM using sold by Crucial memory.

I am considering buying a HP Pavilion TouchSmart 14-f021nr, but I'm unable to find detailed information about its RAM.  All sources I've found say it comes with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, and the maximum value supported is 8 GB.  What is not clear if a second stick of 4 GB will seek up to 8 GB, or if there is only one slot that is initially taken by the supplied 4 GB, making a single 8 GB stick the only way to upgrade.  In short, is dual-channel a possibility?

Also, if anyone knows the RAM timings provided RAM, that would be wonderful as well.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi oceane

It will take time for me to look at the image it must be approved my moderators.

The Samsung RAM that you now would be this I guess:
    http://www.Amazon.com/GP/AW/d/B00CV5GWHC/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/177-5507417-4516704

No problem going in for 12 GB if you want to. But as I mentioned two identical RAMs have its own advantages.

Both the RAM you mentioned in the previous post seems consistent. Check if there are 8 schools of black memory on the RAM (physically) - chip look at their pictures. Some have 4 banks of memory even if the configuration of the RAM you need may be the same - they work sometimes in some HP laptops (from various feedback in this forum).

    Hello

Dave would work rather than Jim.

I suspect that HP has fill not the 8 GB DIMMs in your PC model when it came out on the market, where the reason for not showing the configurations with 8 GB DIMMs.

Mixture of DIMM may or may not work and I saw all the messages on this forum to indicate success or failure with the mix 8 GB DIMM sizes with your HP PC model.

You could try buying two packs of two 8 GB DIMM if reallly you need more memory and see which combination works as appropriate.  You may need to go with 32 GB, but then you might face a decision of performance cost verses. If you can get 24GO to work then return the other DIMM package.

Find out what the return policy is before you buy.
