RAM installation

Do I have to completely remove the back on my 23 Touchsmart to add RAM.  I can't find any access windows or sliding panels on the back

Unfortunately, I watched your recommendations on speeding and tried the only thing on the list that I had already done and it was to reset the video use in settings.  The weas result I lost the functionality of screen split and not won any other form of compensation.  I found the split screen feature but it works only about 60% of what it used to do

I really hold Microsoft responsible for all the anguish and the hours of work and work in trying to get used to this new Windows 8 and am about to close and return to my professional XP that still works fine.  My investment in the new computer has given me countless hours of unnecessary work.

I'll go ahead and update the RAM by a set of instructions that are worse that following a Chinese road map.

Thank you for your help

I smell a lawsuit coming and I think that this law better Microsoft very quickly to all of us who have bought into Windows h8.

There are two vendors of RAM recommended on these forums: OWC (macsales.com) and Crucial both actually test with the Mac and have guarantees of life; Macs are very sticky on their RAM. I would not buy RAM anywhere else.

So, I could not offer an opinion on the RAM, you said except that I would not buy it. Here is the General page to OWC - all you need is your model identifier (not to worry no matter what else):

  • Satellite Pro L450D-14Z - RAM installation guaranteed zero Does?

    Hello
I recently bought a Satellite Pro L450D-14Z and I was just wondering if I could increase the RAM without voiding the warranty. I searched and found various Web sites saying it's good, but I had many prefer to have confirmation before you go for it.

    Any information would be appreciated.

    Hello

No, the upgrade of RAM does not affect the status of the guarantee.
You can upgrade the RAM if you want and the warranty will be valid.
I think there is an instruction in the user manual, how to remove, insert and where to find modules of memory living.

  • Re: Satellite L670D-102 will start not until after 8 GB RAM Installation

I went out today and bought the 2 x 4 GB DDR3 ram bars - 8500 the correct ram for my laptop and now I installed the two ram laptop won't start I checked the ram max that can hold the laptop and it is 8 gb that is why I went out a bought the 2 sticks of 4 GB and I had to for this purpose of the 8 GB of ram in total the laptop will not start when the two 4 GB sticks are installed, but when the ram is installed as supplied with the laptop it starts and it starts as if I have the ram that came with the laptop and also one of the 4 GB sticks.

I'm really nervous as to why it does not work I am 100% sure that ram is good because it starts up with one of them installed aslong as the stock ram is installed, someone knows what the problem please?

    What brand did you buy?
On this forum you can find many threads where people describe similar problems using the memory modules. Specification is OK but unfortunately work doesn t mobile.

I can only recommend to use tested 100% and 100% compatible modules.
Best modules are certainly Kingston modules and 4 GB of RAM for your laptop model KTT KINGSTON part number - 1066 3/4 G (Toshiba PA3677U-1M4G).

I want to upgrade the RAM, the thing is I can get RAM cheap online. The problem is I don't think an easy way to fit it inside this laptop. This is screwed with no easy to access these items option.

I mean I have a HP Probook s 4530, who had coverage back that can be easily removed and the ram and HARD drive are accessible. But how can I update this (HP Envy 15 K 204 TX)...? without voiding the warranty. Only way is to go to the center of service...? And if I provide RAM, even so will I pay... ? I'm on warranty...

If anyone has experienced this... or knows about it, would appreciate the help! coz I have to hunt for service centres in the region.

    Hello @vinoHP,

    Thanks for the reply.

I am pleased that your laptop is still under warranty.  I do not deal with warranty, so I'm not sure if the ram upgrade could invalidate or not.  I recommend you contact the HP support and curious for a definitive answer.  If it might void the warranty, they would also be able to advise you on any cost, if any, did.

  • laptop - hard drive & RAM installation tips

    Hello

I customize a new laptop for video editing and after reading the thread "'generic guideline for the configuration of disk", I decided to replace the optical Bay and install a third hard drive. "

My idea is to install the operating system and programs on the mSATA SSD. However, the available SSD isn't a great write speed. This 'slow' write speed compromise the performance of the system?

I have the possibility to replace the mSATA for a faster, however, with only 120GB (120 GB Kingston SSDNow mS200 mSATA (up to 550 MB/sR: 520 MB/sW))

Or would it be better to replace one of the HDD for a faster SSD?

Regarding the RAM is enough 16 GB? where do I go to 32 GB?

    Thanks for the tips.

The kingston HyperX is very good, but the mS200 mSATA uses the SandForce controller, in contrast with the Plextor using the Marvell controller. In general the SSD with a controller SF is more prone to the 'stable state' performance degradation than SSD with Marvell controller. However, given that this is only for OS & programs, degradation of Scripture is not so important, it will be used mainly to read, not write. If the choice is between Kingston and keep your warranty or the Plextor and voiding your warranty, I would choose the Kingston, also because the write performance is not so important on your startup disk.

  • Satellite Pro A60 - I want to upgrade the RAM

I bought a second hand Pro A60 and would like to increase its memory. I never have, so I need a little guidance. First of all, the system tells me that I have 2 x 250 MB of RAM. I understand that these are not removable, but I could add a 1 GB extra to give me the max of 1.5 GB.

I think that the locations of memory are in B4, but when I open it I do not see an obvious empty slot. I guess what I see are among the 250 MB, but nothing else.

Offers of additional State of RAM installation is simple, but a free slot is not obvious.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

On this laptop, just a slot is placed at the bottom. Turn off and let us know what capacity has this RAM module. You can buy new with more capacity and put it in this slot.
A RAM is probably under the keyboard. Remove the RAM from the bottom and start your laptop. check the amount of RAM is recognized.

If mobile shows 256 MB then you can add a RAM in low 1024 MB PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G) and you will have approximately 1280MB what is the max RAM this laptop to handle with.

  • Mini-pci wireless, RAM & CPU upgrade on S1000-z2

    Hello

I got my S1000-z2 again and finally decided to update it. Unfortunately there is very little technical info on the toshiba site / google, I'm looking for a little help:

    1. I believe this model has an empty mini-pci port. Is that correct, and can it be used for a wireless card.

    2. any body confirm the max ram installable cany? I've seen reports of 512 MB and 1 GB. As it's using an old bios (phoneix 2.10), I guess that 512 is correct. If anyone can confirm this?

    3. I guess that the CPU is not extensible?

    Thank you

    R

    Hello

I know this machine and the only information I can give you is:

1 it s not extensible, because the mini-pci slot is just for technicians and their weird testtools

    2. the maximum capacity of RAM is 1 GB

    3. No, it s not.

I receive this information, due to an "information tour" with a helpdesk phone-guy tosh because I got the same target as you. :)

my laptop running windows 7 ultimate x 32 .intel (r) Pentium (r) @2. 40 GHz I have 6 GB of ram installed and usable only 929. I already tried many things and I can't do bugs... Please help me

    Hi @minxfiles ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

This is a good place to find answers and advice!

You have the best experience in the HP forum, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the HP Forums Learn how Post and more

I understand that you have 6 GB of ram and it is only readable 929 reading.

Just to be sure you're correct DDR3 ram installation?

Installing the chips of RAM, they must be of the type suitable and properly matched.  You can have 2 @2 for 4 GB of ram or 2@4 GB to 8 GB of ram. To have 6 GB of ram, you would need 1@6 GB to 6 GB of ram.

If you have added a 4 GB of ram with the original 2 is it came with, it is very likely what is causing the problem.

    Good luck!

  • HP Pavilion DV7 - 4183CL: upgrade of RAM 16 GB for HP Pavilion DV7 - 4183CL

    Hi all

Am so confused with all the flying on tech stuff.

You will need to upgrade to a 16 GB RAM installation to get the best out of the game juice. Am running 6 GB (4 + 2) stock the installer which simply do not cut it. Please can you guide me what RAM should I buy?

I can't give a sense of the markings on my current RAM. It reads - 4 GB 2RX8 PC3 - 10600S - 9 - 10 - PS... WHT is to say all? The new 8GB Rams should I buy read exactly the same?

Would appreciate if you could help me. Thanks in advance!

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

Your memory tops out at 8 GB, I am sorry to say. But wouldn't you do better game by installing 16 concerts, anyway. You can help video performance a little bit making sure that memory is in mode dual channel which means you need 2 identical modules. If you need to mix the 2 gig you have in there and get a module 4 GB like the one you already have.

    See page 62 for instructions.

    Memory 4 GB 599092-001

    http://www.Amazon.com/HP-VH641AT-4-GB-DDR3-PC3-10600/DP/B0030L3B8E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&QID=1460915079&SR=8-1&keywords=599092-001

Games just need a sufficient amount of system memory and the upgrade to 8 concerts has a meaning. The real workhorse in the game is the video card and there is nothing you can do to upgrade you. You have the Radeon 5470 switchable video of AMD, which is well quite obsolete but in no case a terrible portable video system.

  • Upgrade of RAM i7 540 how fast can the processor actually use

I just got a 540 and I want to know how fast RAM i7 processor is able to use to my advantage. The BIOS can deal with setting parameters at a higher speed of RAM?

Second question, the system tolerates 1.3V RAM?

Standards JEDEC and Intel Haswell only supports 1600 MHz CL11 at 1.35v

You can install RAM more fast (probably up to 1866 MHz depending on availability), but it might speed up to 1600 MHz.

Note that faster RAM installation also slightly increases the temperature of the CPU.

Don't lose sleep on it, you hardly notice the difference anyway.

Before I forget, do not install any RAM with a voltage higher than 1.35v.
