RAM problems!

I received an email of confirmation RMA for a defective fuse, and then I sent the SanDisk product according to the instructions. The e-mail said wait 7-10 days after receipt at SanDisk for treatment. It's been 25 days since I sent my rocket and I have not yet received an answer from SanDisk!

Hello - read through the form and try to isolate the problem.  A week ago my end 2010 iMac 27 I7, 12 GB of Crucial Ram, OSX Yosemite went screwy - icons went fuzzy, and the system has just stopped responding. I tried not just pull the plug, but the computer was out of order, so I had to pull the plug. Please keep in mind it was a day hot here in New York and I've come for a quick moment to remove some files and did not close the windows a turn on the AC, so they probably overheated system or so I guess

Anyway, after a few hours and I came back home and turned back on the iMac. Immediately, I noticed some pale red bans on the screen. The system has been restarted slowly and then it stop at halfway however and just go to the gray screen. I did a reboot, re-installed the operating system made the system check, but the failure of operating system to kick when I do a normal restart, and I am only able to operate the computer in Mode safe.

Is there a way I can understand if the RAM is the question, the graphics card, or if it's the OS? A faulty graphics card will prevent the system from starting normally? I have the same question when I open it on safe mode?

I'm trying to see if there is a way to save the iMac and get more use out of it, but at the same time a few years if it's gong to fix an expensive that I can't do on my own, so maybe its not worth what's now 5-6yrld of fixing iMac little matter how the computer cost me back in 2010.

Thanks for your help and sorry if this question has been answered countless times before.

    Most likely graphics card problem...

    Note:

One way to test is to boot from the HD, (now shift key at startup), run utility disk in Applications > utilities, then highlight your reader, click on repair permissions, test for problem in Mode safe...

PS. secure boot can remain on the gray radian for a long time, let go, he's trying to repair the hard drive & trash/rebuild the cache files

    Reboot, try again.

If it does so only in ordinary chest, there could be a problem material such as Video card, (the Quartz is disabled in Safe Mode), or airport, some USB or Firewire devices, or the module in part 3, Check System Preferences > accounts (users and groups in later versions of OS x) > login items window to see if she or something relevant is listed. Or a stray process eating RAM.

  • RAM problem

I have 8 GB of RAM installed in my MacBook Pro. Suddenly, I found almost all of this is in use, making my computer run like molasses in winter. I recently installed a updat for OSX but don't know if that is the question. I run many apps and just do basic stuff, nothing complicated. And it is not consistent, either.

All used RAM isn't the problem. That's the idea and the OSX is very good in management RAM.

  • Mac Mini Ram problem

    Hello

I just replaced the hard drive in my Mini 2011 Mid and during reassembly of the Mini and reinstall the RAM modules, the top was hard to seat. When I got the upper module in it makes a sort of "Bully" of noise (metal grid sound). At the start, I had the three beep to tell there is a problem of RAM card. I took the modules and re-sitting them, top of page gross sounding again. Same three beeps.

I then took the upper module and has attempted to restart the machine - it booted up OK.

What happened here? I destroyed the motherboard? Is this a known issue? Any thoughts appreciated.

Inspect the contacts on the memory that went into the top slot. Inspect the top slot anomalies such as curved plastic and bent or corroded contacts.

Other users have damaged locations when replacing memory. Can be caused by does not receive the baton in properly and forcing, debris got into the slot or on the key and he was forced in.

I think that now the slot is damaged. and yo either have to replace the logic board or only a slot to use.

  • Satellite A60 - possible ram problem

I have a satellite a60 he says he has 256 RAM. on aol checking my computer tells me that I have only 192 RAM anyone any idea, what the problem might be?

[Edited by: admin on 22 May 05 20:28]

    Hello

I suspect that your RAM is shared with your graphics (usually 64 MB) so even if you actually 256 MB RAM, 64 MB is pré-alloué graphics use 192 MB. Your computer AOL chack reports available rather than the actual RAM RAM

  • Satellite 5200 701: RAM problem?

    Hello

After my last thread, I could somehow isolate the problem further.

My Satellite 5200 701 boots Win XP correctly, but when it is lifted upward or to the smallest shake the screen freezes or displays the Win screen in strange colors. When I hit carefully on its underside after you have started successfully, it crashes immediately when I touch the part of the cover of RAM.

So, I guess it has something to do with the RAM. However, both RAM blocks have been verified by Toshiba, as well as the HARD drive.

    Does anyone have a solution?

    1 million thanks!

    Hi Moritz,

According to your description of the problem, it is most likely something made intermittent contact where your RAM modules are connected. Try to remove and then reposition modules RAM themselves (by taking the necessary precautions of antistatic property course) to see if that helps. Make sure that the RAM modules are in place and properly locked in place.

You can also try exchanging the RAM autour modules so that they are in the bays of spare.

If your problem persists, then it is likely that there is a bad connection between takes of the RAM and the motherboard connections.

  • Pavilion P7 - 1003w Win 7 sp1 - RAM problems...

I have a Pavilion P7-1003w running Windows 7 sp1.  I have 2 strips of 4 GB of RAM installed, which should show that 8 GB under Windows Properties.  Instead it shows 16 GB (7.75 exploitable).  I tried to remove 1 stick and leaving 1 installed, the results show 12 (3.75 usable) GB.  I tried each stick individually in each of the 2 available DIMM slots and each time I get the same results.

Why is this, and can it be fixed?  Or maybe it's bad advice?  Any suggestions are appreciated.

  • Equium A60 - error caused by the RAM problem - Windows tool does not work!

    Hi all

When closing my laptop, I got the blue "screen of death" and it restarts, windows came with this analysis of the accident: "error caused by the memory problem to live: run the Windows tool". I downloaded diagnostic tool (mstinst.exe), he opened so I got "windiag.iso" and he burned on a CD like they told me (the use of 'Record Now') and then I put in the CD drive and rebooted my computer. But it did not launch the tool! Does anyone know why it went wrong and how can I make it work? Even if I got the tool to work, I would be able to solve the problems of RAM anyway, just taking my laptop to a repair center?

    Thanks :)

    Hello

I put t know if you have seen this page http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp but there you can find a detailed explanation of how to use the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool.

32-bit Windows can only work with about 3.5 GB of RAM, so if you really 32-bit Windows 10 you must install 64-bit to be able to use 8 GB of memory.

For the bsod problem try to start windows memory diagnostic tool. This is based on your expanded it is a memory problem.

For the question, determine you the processor model number and look up (plug) in site Intels. You should see other features of the type of memory to use (if DDR3L or DDR3) for a good game.

    Update:

Here's how to run diagnostics: simply click the circled option shown after you type memory in the search box.

Assuming you have I7-4700MQ, this will be the result in the Intel Web site:

From there, the answer to your question is NO, you cannot use DDR3. You can use only the DDR3L 1333 or 1600 Dual channel No. ECC memory support.

  • RAM problem (y580)

I recently met some problems with performance in my laptop y580 (i5, 8GB, gtx660m) in games, and after execution of CPU - Z, I came to the conclusion it might be problem with the RAM, because I think that the DRAM 665 MHz frequency is not something good for DDR3 technology, am I right? How can I change this value? I looked in the BIOS, but it seems that it has simplified version and there is no options for procesor or RAM.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi, Sadam,

your RAM is Double rate (DDR). frequency display must be multiplied x 2,

so if the clock of the bus is 667 MHz, flow is 1333. There is nothing you can change!

Please see JEDEC table for more details...

    Hi all

I have a little problem after I recently installed a 1.0 GB 400GHz Module RAM in my computer 2 days ago. As expected, the RAM module was automatically recgonize when starting up. After booting up I open the Task Manager to check the performance and 1m02s just later the CPU usage rises all the way up to 100 percent and he declined the use of the processor. I bought RAM to increase my computer performance not decrease.

    I have a Dell Deminsion 3000

    Computer:

I recently ran disk cleanup, disk defragmentation and uninstalled antivirus software, thinking that perhaps the source however problem remains.

Could someone help me please to solve this problem?

    (1) first try running Memtest86 +: "with the two sticks of memory installed.

It runs from a floppy disk or CD, you must remove or
confirm whether your one or more of your sticks of memory are bad or the values of the SPD in the BIOS are correct. Let it run for as long as you can: 2,4,6,8 or several hours (at least 3 full passes), if no errors at that time then your ram is OK.
    http://www.memtest.org/
Memtest86 + Guide/How To (use the.) ISO to create a bootable CD)
    http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=409152

    (2) remove the new memory and see if the problem disappears and the CPU load is back to normal.

    (3) remove the original memory and only insert the new memory (in the same dwelling original memory was in) and try again to run Memtest86.

Note: any time you remove or install memory do it with the computer turned off AND removed the power cord. After removing the power cord, wait 5 minutes before removing or installing memory or other hardware component.

  • 650 HP laptop with Windows 7 32 bit Home premium RAM problem

    Hello.

I recently purchase a new HP650 notebook that came with Windows 8.  I have this wiped and reinstalled windows 7 32 bit edition Home premium and downloaded all the drivers/software relevant on the HP site.

However, the machine is supplied with 4 GB of RAM, including the BIOS see' good sas.  Windows 7 recognizes that 4 GB but it says that only 969 MB is usable.

There is nothing of configurable in BIOS for the use of video memory or information about the reserved addresses.

I am aware that 32 bits will use about 3.5 GB but wow can get this machine to use all 3.5 GB?

    Any advice would be apreciated.

    Thank you very much

    James

    Hello

I suggest that you uninstall the Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bit) and switch on Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) version to treat memory problems.

The Microsoft Windows 7 activation key on the certificate of authenticity you have for the 32-bit version will work with the 64-bit operating system. The caveats are that you can have only a single installation active with the license key at a time and you must have an installed processor that is capable of 64-bit OS.  You will find that the 64-bit version is far superior to the 32-bit version for stability. Of course, there is the increased ability to recognize more memory installed up to limits of the motherboard.

You can download the 64-bit here. The drivers are available on the support portal web for your mobile in the section download.
