  • RAM upgrade problem: Flash the BIOS? or upgrade the processor?

Hi, I jumped in with both feet and now need help to get out me!

I have a desktop PC HP Pavilion Elite HPE-470uk who becomes a bit slow (processor card here http://ark.intel.com/products/48505/Intel-Core-i3-550-Processor-4M-Cache-3_20-GHz). After you have added a bluray player that I noticed that it's getting a bit slow so thought I would add little RAM.

I bought a few Hyper X8GB of HyperXbeast 1600hhz, slipped in and the PC did nothing but to turn on and off several times. I checked the two sticks and they both do it. I then (plow in front) checked what memory, the processor can handle and discovered "The Intel® Core™ i3 - 5xx / Intel® Core™ i3-21xx processors handle memory DDR3 1066/1333 MHz" by http://www.intel.com/support/processors/corei3/sb/CS-031175.htm

After a discussion on another forum, that it has been suggested that I have updated the BIOS because it can allow the processor to manage memory 1600 mhz, but I don't know where to start on this or what version to selected download. I'd appreciate any help you can offer on this.

The other way, that I can see is to update the processor itself. I thought of nothing too fancy just an i5 because it will allow me to run 3d blurays and should allow me to run some apps at the same time. After reading this http://m.wikihow.com/Upgrade-a-Processor it seems too complicated. Is it really just a matter of taking off the fan, declipsant the old processor, nine droping in and then put on some cooling stick stuff?

Or should I just return the memory and get good memory?

    See you soon

    Atdot.

Here are the specifications of original factory for your desktop HP Pavilion Elite HPE-470uk and its card mother MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E). Based on these specifications, this model can support up to 16 GB (4 GB x 4 DIMMs) as follows:

    Dual channel memory architecture
Four DDR3 DIMM sockets (240 pin)
    PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)
    PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066)
    Memory non - ECC, unbuffered
Supports up to 16 GB on 64 bit computers

    In addition, this model can support the following Intel processors;

Maximum frequency of the processor of the heart < = 2.93GHz
    Intel Core i7 - 8xx (Lynnfield core)
    Intel Core i5 - 7xx (Lynnfield core)
    Intel Core i5 - 6xx (Clarkdale core)
    Intel Core i3 - 5xx (Clarkdale core)

If you do not have to worry about the update of the BIOS, there is no updates available for your computer BIOS. Honestly, I return the incorrect memory and upgrade to a minimum of 8 GB of RAM. Then, if it solves all your problems, you could also upgrade the processor.

As the computer is nearly 4 years old, you can consider a factory HP restore to return the computer to a facoty as State. In many cases, it returns original full speed of the computer. The reason why this helps, because the BONE is swollen and clogged over time.

  • Satellite C660 PSC1JE - 8 GB RAM upgrade problems

    Fellow owners of Toshiba,

    I have a Satellite C660-PSC1JE-00Y00XHU with 3 GB RAM (1 + 2) I want to go to 8 GB.

I went out and bought 2 x 4 GB, but so far no of the below those worked (the computer restarts or stop):
    http://www.Amazon.com/Kingston-Technology-1333MHz-KTT-S3BS-4G/DP/B00B2UWSD4
    http://www.Kingston.com/dataSheets/KVR16S11S8_4.PDF
I was not to mix memories above, purchased two of each. Certainly, these operate at higher MHz and they aren't memories KIT, so that may be the issue.

According to the specifications of the laptop (SEE attachment), I should be able to move to 8 GB.
I found the following thread here, but it is not help me solve this problem: https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread...RAM+memory+8gb

I found my memories at Intel:
    http://www.Intel.com/content/www/us/en/platform-memory/DDR3-1333-n-ECC-SODIMM-validation-results.html?wapkw=m471b2873fhs
Two of my memories have a value of 'B' in the R/C column, but what that means? I ask, it is because in the list, there are two 4 GB memory listed thus:
    M471B5273CH0-CH9
    M471B5273BH1-CH9
But these memories have a 'F' in R/C column. Is that mean that they didn't work with the tested chipset?

I found a KIT on amazon, where PSC1JE is registered: http://amzn.com/B00WAFGDTK
But on the important information of the product section, only C655 notebooks are listed.

Another thing I noticed, is that support for DDR3 frequency on my motherboard is only 533 MHz, but the memories that came with the laptop are 666,7 MHz. Does that mean I shouldn't buy same PC3-10600 memory, since it would not even capable of running at full speed?

What I absolutely have to buy KIT or can I go out with two sticks of Samsung 4 GB?

I am at a loss. Can someone point me in the direction of someone who can check what memory modules I need in order to have 8 GB in my notebook?

    Thank you

I bought a lenovo G40 ~ 70 cell and I wanted to update my ram. It contains 4 GB of ram and I wanted it go to 8 GB. What kind of ram card should I buy and after upgrading my computer will have problems? Thank you.

    Hi Ayato,

    Welcome to the Forums

According to the request, we understand you need to upgrade RAM to your laptop Lenovo G40-70.

According to the specifications of this model, the memory maximum supported by this model is up to 16 GB DDR3L 1600 Mhz. That's why I suggest you consider DDR3L RAM the RAM slots in the laptop doesn't support the same. And 'L' in the DDR3L refers to low voltage.

Click here to see the specification of the model.

I hope this helps. Do not post back if the problem persists.

  • HP G62 100SL: HP G62 100SL ram Upgrade problem

    Hello

I wanted to upgrade the ram on my G62, since the out-of-the-box 2x2gb:

( http://www.kingston.com/it/memory/search/discontinuedmodels/Default.aspx?DeviceType=3&Mfr=HEW&Line=G... the serial number of my modules is 598856-001 and 002-598856, so that they are 2 gigabits - DDR3 1333 MHz)

    to them:

    http://www.Kingston.com/it/memory/search/?partid=kvr13s9s8/4

Their specifications, they seem to be compatible, but when Windows tries to load, it just crashes and restarts and gives me this type of error: Kernel security check failure, then restarts, and so on in a loop.

I checked the new memories on a different laptop and they work very well, I swapped the slots but nothing has changed. So, the problem probably lies in windows or directly on the configuration of the bios (but I can't change anything in there, I f.37 InsydeH2O, 3.5 version).

You know a way to solve this situation or can tell you me a type of memory which will work for sure for the upgrade?

    Thanks in advance!

Not exactly. Some versions of the G62 will accept 6 GB of RAM (4 GB and 2 GB), but this point is largely moot as I understand you are trying to install 2 x 4 GB total 8. In general, you do not want to mix the modules in sizes because you lose operation "dual channel" which is a bit faster than single-channel you can get from a module or modules of mixed size.

The speed of the memory of your laptop is DDR3-1066. Your 1333 mhz modules are downclocking to 1 066 mhz and a memory downclocks better than others.

You should carefully read the manual, but if you arrive at the actual parts for the memory modules list it shows a 4 GB module is only compatible with version 1.1 of the G62. 8 gigs will accept so not all models. Other than 1.1 versions are limited to 4 GB of memory.

You have the processor i3 - 330 M with a dedicated ATI 5430 M video chip with 512 vram. Those who take the 8 gigs (version 1.1) have the 5470 graphics. See pages 19 and 20. You have version 1.0. He maxxes to 4 gigs is therefore peeling when you try to install 8.

It is a lot of information, but the basic message is that you already have so much memory that can be installed on your laptop.

  • Inspiron 1525, Ram upgrade problems

I am trying to upgrade my Inspiron up to 8 GB of RAM, but when I try to run it with 8 GB, BIOS refuses to finish loading. Replacing a stick of 4 GB with the old 2 GB stick, running to 6 GB of total RAM, it works fine, but not with the two sticks of 4 GB with a total of 8 GB. I am running the latest (I think). A17 BIOS revision for my laptop. Anyone know how can I get the whole 8 GB work?

    You can check the following:

    Is your i1525 a

    1. a 64-bit processor

    2. an operating system to 64-bit (OS)

    3. all 64-bit drivers?

If Yes, then it is strange, it

Run the BIOS and the operating system with 6 GB but not

    with 8GB.

It cannot be the operating system if you do not

a 64-bit for Win Vista Home Premium 64-bit instance.

You have a Dual Boot (2 BONES) or not?

If this is not the case, the problem must be in hardware.

I want to test 8 GB of RAM on my i1525, but before you buy

2 x 4 GB of RAM I want to know if the i1525 can handle this amount.

A17 is the latest version. What the BIOS is displayed

When you run with 6 GB under the tab "memory"?

What kind of error (code) only the BIOS

display with 8 GB? I understand it stops and freezes? If this is not

give all an error code? Have you tried

all combinations: module 1 4 GB in support 1, module 2 4 GB in Jack 2.

Module 2 in 1 support and module 1 Socket 2 and so on

with 1 2 GB module in the module socket 1 and 1 from 4 GB to take 2.

    Windows Vista (64-bit)

    • Ultimate: 128 GB
    • Company: 128 GB
    • Company: 128 GB
    • Home Premium: 16 GB
    • Home Basic: 8 GB
It is absolutely a limitation of i1525. On the other hand: almost all sources
said on a maximum of 4 GB if your i1525 successfully managed 6 GB!
It's 2 GB above the max Dell says it can handle.
You can check with Piriform Speccy, Belarc Advisor and PC Wizard 2012 how
your 2 GB and 4 GB modules are managed by your i1525.

  • Satellite Pro 6000 RAM upgrade problems

Apologies for multiple - originally, I put this in the Satellite rather than the Satellite Pro series Forum.

I have an old Satellite Pro 6000 that has 256 MB of RAM in it, and accordingly, as he tries harder sound, it is not the fastest machines.

I want to increase the RAM to 1 GB, which I believe is the maximum and 2 sticks of memory of 512 MB PC133 CL3 3.3V, which I think should work fine.

However, I tried to install either as a pair or separately, with the 256 MB of RAM, and when I put the memory in, the PC resolutely refuses to start. The lights of power lights, but it is only it works.

I put the original 256 MB of RAM in the slot, and it works fine.

I'm something wrong or missing something?

    Any help appreciated gratefully.

    Hello

    > Am I something wrong or missing something?
Of course, you use the memory bad or is not compatible!

Initialization not after an upgrade of memory is a common behavior if the modules are not compatible or do not work.

You can upgrade the memory to 1024 MB (2x512MB) max and page Toshiba should run these modules:
    PC133 512 MB (PA3108U - 1 M 51)
    PC133 256 MB (PA3086U - 1 M 25)
    PC133 128 MB (PA3085U - 1 M 12)

    Thank you

    One question;
This question seemed before that you have installed the second module of RAM?

If this isn't the case, then this problem is certainly related to the second module of RAM.
What you could do is to spend both modules of memory in a different memory location.
    Sometimes it helps.

If the BSOD will always appear then you should replace the memory module and need to test another.

  • EliteBook 8440p: Ram upgrade problem

I currently have 4 GB of ram, and I recently took a 4 GB stick on another laptop. When I add the new RAM, Windows crashes. The BIOS reads the new RAM (8 in total), but Windows won't load. The new RAM is <4gb 1rx8="" pc3l="" 12800s="" -="" 11="" -="" 12="" -="" b4="">what I've read, the speed max is 10600 on this computer. Is there a way to reduce the RAM? BIOS is locked and not helpful. My questions are: is the speed, the only question? Is there a way to fix this? I would like to solve this legitimately, but if there are other options which may void the warranty, I'd be interested to hear about so, purely for academic purposes.

    Thank you!

The speed is not the only problem, it's the tension. Your original brief was 1.5 volts and this new memory is 1.35 volts. It can run at 1.5 volt, but prefer not to and you did not provide a part number for the module, but if it is high density (4 black blocks on each side) it will not play nice with the original HP module. Do yourself a favor and get the memory of one of the good sellers, Crucial, Kingston, etc., that is specified as compatible with your specific model. Intel Core of first generation like yours are very capricious in memory.

I'm working on a Satellite A105-S2236 for a customer. She has Windows Vista Basic - and did not come with 512 MB of RAM, so it is very slow. I went by Crucial and got another chip 512 MB for this computer - after installation, it shows again that 512 - I tried to change the chips, each chip individiually running into the two slots to see if 1 chip or locations did not work, and everything works fine - except with 2 512 chips - it shows more than 512 RAM.

I spent some time on the phone with Toshiba - bascially for them to tell me that the motherboard is picky and will not recognize 2 different brand of chips of RAM. 2 chips are quite identical features except the one who came there is Samsung and the new is Crucial. I can't believe they don't work together.

    Thank you!

    Hello

You won't believe me, but many people have reported the same issue with the essential modules. The best thing you can do is to return and buy products known and of good quality. If you want one, order the module of RAM Kingston. They will work for sure.

  • Satellite R630-13F - RAM upgrade

    Hi all

My R630 is faced with a newly added software for Photoshop (CS5 version). Whenever it is quite slow to open and try to merge the picture for the economy.

I was wondering if I can upgrade the RAM. With a very limited knowledge, I would like to know if I need to buy an additional (if there is a vacancy for it), or I need to get one to replace the old.

I think increasing the memory to 4 GB, but I was wondering if it will be enough for Photoshop. Thanks a lot for any input.

    Best wishes

    Tim

    Hey Buddy,

RAM upgrade is not a problem because it is easy and can be done in a few minutes.

Satellite R630 has Intel HM55 chipset, and the maximum capacity is 8 GB. This means that you can install 4GB module in each memory location. Also an upgrade to 4 GB is not a problem, you can keep your 2 GB module and just buy a new 2 GB module. The module DDR3-10066 part number is PA3676U-1M2G.
